The sprites are so cute, it's a shame the game didn't use them...

I guess I'm beating a dead horse, but I prefer a hundred times cute 2D sprites like these than the models we ended up with, hell, the popularity of 2D-3D games makes me wonder if it's not an opinion more shared than I first thought.

Sure it's reminiscent of GBAFE and not everyone played it but I really wonder why they put ressources to design those sprites, especially in FE16, when they are only used in a corner of the menu/status page for units!
