#the megop is strong with this film

Even as a die hard MegOp shipper, I think the relationship being platonic doesn’t take away any of the hurt of what happened during the film. (Minor Spoilers Ahead)

They were close friends ever since they started on the job, which was likely pretty quickly after they onlined (transformers skipping the squishy baby phase and all), and we can see how well they knew one another just by their interactions.

Orion Pax knew how much D-16 idolized Megatronus, and went through the trouble of getting him a special decal because he knew it would make him happy. D-16 always helped Orion Pax get out of trouble from the guards because, even if he didn’t totally approve, he knew it was important to Orion.

You could really feel how they were best friends, and the tragedy of how it all fell apart when they couldn’t reconcile their differences any longer.

I guess I just feel like some people can get such shipper goggles that they forget that platonic relationships can be just as strong or stronger than romantic ones, even if they already think that irl.

((Besides - theres also a lot of potential for friends to enemies to lovers 👀))

I thought D-16 and Orion's relationship in the movie was written very believably platonic. Like they absolutely knew how to write a close male friendship without necessarily giving the impression that they are boning during their off-shifts
