#untagged#i get what he means but this was. badly-put to say the least#i'm not tagging for a reason and that reason is I'm Not Looking To Start Shit i just have nowhere to speak on this longform#but like. what in the All Asians Are The Same.#all i want to know is why he needs to make it sound like a diversity hire rather than what it actually is#which is that yong has an objectively more suitable voice and better understanding of the character and how to portray him#ESPECIALLY in the midst of all these nutjobs going after yong to prop up darryl's performance#like as someone who /needs/ to experience both dub and sub for the wiki because of the drastic changes in script...#the localization team ADMITS to failing/sometimes REFUSING to actually direct the actors and inform them of crucial information#so if the actor's understanding of the character is the last line of defense in terms of getting a good performance#i would rather have the actor with a better understanding! sorry!#darryl's performance was not that good nor was it foundational to the character. you don't need to die on that hill. grow up
