read a sick as hell arlebina fic by @followerofmercy a few months ago, and the title ended up sticking in my head. i actually meant to do this more carefully on calligraphy paper, but then earlier today i noticed that i refilled my pens with colors that all go together for once and decided to ride the impulse to see how la colombe envie les cygneaux might look with them. fortunately, the light on the train decided to cooperate.

#i was so worried that the rattling of the train would mess up my strokes on cygneaux but it's been a p smooth ride so far #i had like sketches and a couple color tests done in a scratch notebook a few weeks ago where i chose black/red/grey as the palette lol #the halo n wings are in pencil n if i were doing this properly (uncertain considering executive dysfunction) i'd have traced them in ink #the original sketch had them positioned differently (and had the l in 'les' shaped like a swan head but that felt like it was ornamenting #one side too heavily) n i wasn't going to include them here either at first but then i was like 'okay. but what if.'#'wing shapes together look reminiscent of devil horns.' and i was like 'you sonofabitch i'm in'#usually i don't post these to tumblr myself i just embed them into ao3 comments but this time it's like. well we're already mutuals.#arlebina #花話
