Frogger- Peter Maximoff X Reader
Summary: Teasing Peter Maximoff. That's it. Thats the fic.
Word Count: 2.2k
Warnings: A little smutty (pg 13-ish), weed, kinda slow burn
A/n: This came to me while staring at a wall for 20 minutes after five bong rips. It was written in like an hour at midnight and only proofread once; probably a fair amount of typing errors. Thank you for reading !!
Pt 2
I lay on Peters bed listening to one of his Pink Floyd cassettes and sipping on a coca cola awaiting his return. I met peter at the arcade a couple months ago and we hit it off immediately… well, after we finished arguing over who got to the Pac-Man game first. He zoomed in front of me, seeming to appear out of thin air. I yelled at him, saying that I was there first and I had already put my token in, after he backed down, then we hit it off. He showed me some secretes he’d learned about the game then we went to get coffee. I’ve spoken to him almost every day since. He quickly became a close friend.
“Knock knock,” he says walking into the room. He’d zoomed out to re-up. I hop off his bed, setting my soda down on the coffee table as I approach him. I’m happy to see him, but even more excited to check out the weed.
“About damn time,” I joke as he tosses me the baggie.
“What? I was gone for literally five minutes,” he laughs, taking a seat on his couch.
“That’s awfully long for you, eh Quickie,” I sit down next to him grinning. “Shit, I left my papers in my car,” I frown, before picking up my keys and dangling them in front of Peter. He rolls his eyes, taking the car keys and speeding out and back, within seconds he’s tossing the rolling papers into my lap. “Thank you,” I bat my lashes at him.
“Yeah yeah,” he rolls his eyes, opening a bag of chips. He watches me as I break up the weed and begin to roll the joint.
“Damn you’re good at that,” he says genuinely impressed as he crunches on the Doritos.
“Well, I have a lot of experience,” I laugh sparking the joint, taking a deep hit. He’s told me that he didn’t smoke a whole lot before he met me, maybe I’m a bad influence. Then again, I had never stolen anything until I met him; so I guess it cancels out.
I pass the joint to peter as I exhale the smoke. “Good shit,” I laugh as I try stifle a cough. Peter takes a hit, immediately coughing so hard his face turns red.
“Goddman,” he chokes out, I hand him my soda in attempt to ease his coughing. “Wow I already feel it,” he says after he takes a sip, his voice raspy from the hot smoke and hacking as he sets the glass bottle down next to him.
“I think the coughing makes you higher,” I giggle, wiping off the ash off my skirt.
“I think you’re right, shit,” he sighs. “You feel it yet?” he asks looking at me through lidded eyes.
“Not quite, my tolerance is pretty high,” I laugh then take another hit before grabbing his Atari controller. “Wanna play frogger?” I ask.
“Stupid question,” he scoffs, zooming to the gaming console, looking for the correct game cassette. I take the time to admire how handsome Peter is, the way his white t-shirt hugs his toned arms, his constantly messy silver hair that falls perfectly into his face, his perfect skin- despite how much junk food he eats.
‘Damn he looks good,’ I think to myself as I take another hit off the joint, lounging on his crumb covered couch with the tan controller resting in my other hand. Peter zooms back to me.
“321 go!” He shouts, starting the game.
“Shit Pete I wasn’t ready,” I shoot up dropping the blunt, Peter of course catches it before it hits the ground then pops it into his mouth. I die almost instantly.
“You lose,” he takes the controller out of my hand replacing it with the joint. “My turn!” He gives me a shit eating grin that I’ve grown to adore. I roll my eyes.
“Alright Quickie,” I begin as his fingers move in a blur on the Atari controller. “Lets make this a competition. Best 2/3. Winner gets a whole joint to themselves,” I smirk.
“Oh you’re on,” he laughs, not looking away from the television. I cover his eyes with my hands, causing him to die. “Dude!” he shouts at me. I grin taking the controller. “You loose, my turn!” I mock him. He laughs, leaning back on the couch. I last a while, ultimately missing the log, dying when I fall into the water.
“425, beat that,” I proudly hand him the controller.
“Pft, in my sleep,” he scoffs, and he’s right. He quickly beats my score with a whopping 683. “You sure you wanna continue, man?” he smirks. “You can still back out and just split the joint, and keep your pride intact,” he offers with a smug grin. Instead of getting irritated, I develop a plan.
“Oh, I’m sure Peter,” I smirk back. “But could you go first? You’re so great, I’d like to know the final score I have to beat,” I ask batting my lashes.
“Uh, sure. Okay,” he agrees even though he looks confused. He starts the next game, doing very well of course. Without him noticing, I pull my sweater down to show some cleavage before I reach over him to grab my cola sitting on the opposite side of him. My chest sets even with his eyes as I grab the cold glass bottle. Peters fingers slow and a light pink settles on his cheeks. He clears his throat, as I sit back down on the couch.
“Alright man, you can’t distract me that easily,” he laughs it off, even though he’s still blushing, glancing between me and the screen.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, I’m just thirsty,” I smirk as I use my tongue to bring the paper straw into my mouth, staring at Peters eyes that keep finding their way back to me. I slowly slide the straw out of my mouth, my tinted lip gloss leaving a ring on the white paper.
“Mmm,” I moan, leaning closer to him as I savor the taste of the cherry cola. “This is really good Peter, how’d you know that cherry’s my favorite?” I ask lowly. His eyes go wide, his frog gets hit by a truck earning him a score of 237
“Come on!” the speedster shouts. “That’s totally unfair! How am I supposed to concentrate when you’re being all hot and shit?” he asks, his cheeks still pink.
“You think I’m hot?” I giggle, taking the controller from his hands. His cheeks burn even brighter when he realizes that he just admitted that he thinks I’m hot.
I easily beat his score; he doesn’t even try to stop me. “Fetch me my weed,” I grin, holding out my hand. He rolls his eyes, but in instant the weed, papers and lighter are in my hand. “Thanks, Quickie,” I wink before quickly rolling another joint.
I lean back on the arm of the couch, watching Peter as his eyes follow the joint going between my lips, staring as I French inhale the smoke. His bloodshot eyes watch in awe and I can’t help but smile at his obvious ogling.
“Let’s watch something,” I smile, standing up and walking toward the tv, taking another hit.
“Sure,” he sighs in relief. “What movie are you th…” he trails off when I bend over, my short skirt exposing the smallest amount of my ass. I pretend not to notice, picking up a random VHS.
“What about Jaws?” I turn, asking him innocently. He blinks shaking his head as if trying to release himself from a trance.
“Uh,” he clears his throat. “Yeah s-sure dude. What, uh, whatever you th-think sounds good,” he clears his throat again, staring into my eyes, not even blinking. I can tell that he’s trying extremely hard not to look at my sweater that’s still pulled down or my skirt that’s ridden up my thighs. I can almost hear him saying to himself ‘don’t look, don’t look, don’t look…’. I’m enjoying every moment of this.
I smile as I bend down to slip the VHS into the player, I turn to catch Peter adjusting his pants. He quickly removes his hand, giving me a huge grin trying not look guilty. I put the spliff back in my mouth to keep myself from laughing.
I walk over to the couch, tapping the joint out and setting it in the ash tray. As the movie starts to play, I take a seat next to peter, throwing my legs over his, allowing my skirt to fall down my thighs towards my stomach, and Peter seems to notice. His breath hitches in his throat, glancing back and forth between the movie and my thighs. We sit like this for the first part of the movie, eventually he relaxes a bit, getting into the film. I watch as the light from the screen bounces of his sharp features. I smirk as I lean up to Peter.
“You have something on your face,” I say quietly. He watches as I take my thumb in my mouth, wetting it to wipe the dried frosting off his cheek. His face floods red, he’s adorable.
“What’s wrong Peter?” I ask, still only inches from his face. “Why so quiet all of the sudden?” I lean into whisper in his ear. He visibly shutters as my breath hits his skin, a barely noticeable sheen of sweat appears on his forehead. I’m satisfied with his reaction. “Do I make you nervous, Peter?” I ask, wiping the sweat off his face. He turns to look at me.
“Uh,” he clears his throat. “N-no, of course not. It’s just, uhm, a little warm in here, th-that’s all,” he stutters, staring at me with his glossy brown eyes.
“Hm,” I pretend to think about his response. “You’re right,” I grin before pulling my grey sweater over my head, leaving me in my short skirt and white tank top that clings to my curves and barely covers my cleavage. He audibly gasps with wide eyes, not bothering to hide his staring.
“It’s getting even more hot in here all of the sudden,” he pulls at the neck of his shirt trying to cool himself off.
“Maybe you should take this off then,” I suggest, toying with the hem of the shirt. “Might cool you off,” I don’t drop his gaze as I reach for my cola, taking another sip.
“I-uh… y-yeah, sure, m-maybe you’re, uhm right,” he stumbles over his words before clumsily taking off the white t-shirt. I’m surprised that he actually did it, but definitely not disappointed. I drink in the picture Infront of me. The nervous boy fidgeting with his hands, a thin sheen of sweat on his flushed cheeks and toned torso, his chest rising and falling rapidly, all of my doing. The sight makes my core ache.
“Your goggles are crooked,” I observe as I slowly crawl on top of him to straddle his waist, giving him time to stop me, incase I’m taking it too far.
He just gulps, watching as I settle on his lap. I place one hand on his chest, using the other to adjust the silver goggles, my chest at his eye level once again. I catch his eyes, now glossed over with lust rather than THC, watching me as I smooth his hair down. As I sit back, my core against his crotch, I can feel his excitement through his pants, he bounces his leg rapidly in anticipation, watching, waiting for whatever it is that I’m going to do to him next.
“Are you sure you’re not nervous?” I smile, my skirt completely bunched up around my waist, exposing the entirety of my white thong.
“Y-yeah,” his voice cracks. “I’m totally fine,” his words come out shaky as he stares at my exposed underwear.
“I’ll move if you want, Peter,” I slowly grind my crotch against his, the friction on my core feels amazing. “Just tell me and I’ll move,” I offer with pleasure laced in my tone, hoping that he doesn’t ask me to stop.
He doesn’t say anything, just lets out a small whimper as I put more pressure and speed into my movements. I slowly dip down to his neck, giving him time to stop me if he desires, leaving wet kisses on his jugular. I swear I can feel how hard his heart is beating.
“You taste so sweet, Peter,” I whisper in his ear, continuing my grinding on his erection through his pants.
“Fuck,” he whispers, his breathing shallow and quick. I slowly slide my hands down to his buckle, still moving my hips as I trail my kisses closer to his lips. I pop the buckle open and bite down on his lip gently, he gasps against my mouth.
Beep beep. Beep beep.
Goddamnit
My digital wristwatch signals that it’s time to pick my little brother up from school. I hop off Peter, he furrows his brows.
“I gotta go man, I gotta pick up my brother,” I explain, he just watches in confusion as I slide my sweater back on my body, adjusting my skirt and putting on my shoes. I head to the steps, he jumps up as if he’s just now processed what’s happened.
“Hey, wait, you can’t leave me like this,” he whines, his erection prominent in his blue jeans. “We were having fun,” he frowns. I smile widely.
“Don’t worry, I’m coming back,” I wink. “My weeds here dude, you know I’ll be back,” I laugh walking away from the shirtless, frustrated, confused boy standing with a raging boner in the middle of his room.

The Munson Factor ~Eddie Munson & Steve Harrington~
summary: when the girl he’s loved for years goes missing, steve enlists the help of her best friend to find her. But were they really only friends or was there something more that always stood in the way of steve’s happiness?
word count:
pairings: eddie munson x reader, steve harrington x reader
notes: angst, heartbreak (a little), steve giving love but not receiving in the way he wants, 1 or 2 (possibly more) swears. this was a little sad for me to write because I’m so used to writing fics where steve gets the girl. But I genuinely love eddie so he’s gonna be getting some love on this blog now too
masterlist
“How many times are you going to rent this movie, y/n?” Steve questioned his friend as he handed over Family Video’s copy of Halloween.
“As long as you guys let me rent it.” She sent back a smile and shoved the tape in her backpack. “So, we still up for movie night?”
“Are we going to be watching Halloween for the billionth time?” he rolled his eyes and went back to shelving the new releases.
“’Course not. You’re in charge of the movies tonight and I am in charge of getting the best snacks, as per Dustin’s request, since you really messed it up last week.”
“Hey, in my defense, that little twerp told me to buy that candy.”
“Yeah but he didn’t tell you to get expired candy, did he?” she joked and looked at the posters around the store. “So, what movies are we going to watch?”
“I’ll decide by the end of my shift.” Steve set up a new cutout and stood back to admire his work. “You sticking around ‘til then?”
“I’m gonna head over to the arcade. Dustin is teaching me his tips for Pac-Man.”
“Alright, sounds great. I’ll meet you back here at 6pm.”
“Aye aye captain.” y/n saluted him and headed next door to the arcade. When she walked in, Dustin cheered.
“Finally, the queen has arrived.”
“Oh, you flatter me, Henderson.” She set her backpack down on the floor and watched as he started the game. His tips and tricks on how to get the high score really helped her when she took her turn. Her score was only slightly higher than Dustin’s, but he didn’t let it bother him. Instead, he patted her on the back and smiled.
“Congratulations, young padawan.” He bowed as if she was a student of his.
“You do know that I’m older than you, right?”
“Yes, but ‘tis I who taught you all that you know. The student has become the master.”
“Whatever you say, kid.” She ruffled his hair and stood up.
“Hey, do you know what movies Steve is bringing to movie night?”
“Not a clue. But he said he would have his mind made up by 6 tonight.”
“It better be good. Steve almost never has good choices.”
“Let’s see what kind of influences I can have on him.” y/n grabbed her bag and headed for the door. “Follow me, Henderson.”
The two of them walked rather quickly over to the video store and when they entered, Steve rolled his eyes.
“I saw that, and might I say, that was rude of you.”
“It is what it is.” Steve shrugged and looked over at y/n. “What brings you back here?”
“Oh, I see how it is. Your favorite person ever walks in here and you’re rude to him, but the second you see a pretty girl, you’re the nicest person ever.” It was Dustin’s turn to roll his eyes.
“Shut up, Henderson.” Steve hit his arm and put his attention back on y/n. “So?”
“I wanted to suggest some ideas for movie night.”
“I am not getting another scary movie, especially after last time. Dustin wouldn’t stop waking me up that night with his nightmares.”
“I wasn’t going to suggest a scary movie. In fact, I was actually going to suggest Raiders of the Lost Ark & The Outsiders.”
“Those are pretty good suggestions.” Steve smiled and grabbed them off the shelves. “And even though I know your main intention was to suggest a horror movie & only said these 2 because they’re right here, I’ll check these out for tonight.”
“Awesome. Can’t wait.” y/n smiled and turned to Dustin while Steve went back to the counter. “See how it’s done?”
“Wow. You’ve gotta teach me how to do that.”
“Sorry, kid. But unless you suddenly become a pretty girl, you’ll never be able to manipulate men like Steve into doing what you want.” y/n winked and began looking at more movies to pass the time.
“Man, you are so whipped for y/n.” Dustin chuckled and looked up at Steve, who was staring across the room at said girl.
“What? No I’m not!” he tried to defend himself but the more he thought about it, the redder his cheeks became. “Shut up, Henderson.”
“Okay, that’s the second time in 10 minutes that you’ve told me to shut up and, frankly, I’m not a fan of it.”
“I’ll stop telling you to shut up when you stop saying ridiculous things.” Steve went back to rewinding the tape in the VCR.
“Why do you keep denying your feelings every time I bring them up? We all know how you feel about her so why don’t you just confirm it for us?”
“What am I supposed to say? That I’m in love with the girl who’s been like a sister to me for 12 years? That every time I close my eyes, I see her face? How about that every time I hear her name, I think back to the first time I heard her voice? Or maybe that whenever she’s around me, I do anything she asks me to because she has this power over me? Is that what you wanted to hear?”
“Actually, yes it is. Now, here’s what I’m gonna do for you, my friend.” Dustin put a hand on Steve’s shoulder, earning another eye roll from him. “I’m gonna back out of our plans tonight by making up some lame excuse. That way you can spend 4 glorious hours alone with y/n & maybe you’ll tell her everything you just told me. Okay?”
“You’re insane, Henderson.”
Later that night, as y/n arrived at Steve’s house for movie night, she was informed that Dustin would not be coming. That left her alone with Steve, as the other kids also had plans already.
“I have the 2 movies you suggested earlier and um, I also have Sleepaway Camp because I know you really wanted to watch something with a scary vibe to it.”
“You really didn’t have to do that, Steve.” y/n sat down and waited for him to put the first tape in. He joined her on his couch and grabbed the bowl of popcorn. Y/n grabbed a handful and focused on the screen. He had chosen Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first movie of the night. “So, why did Henderson have to cancel?”
“Not quite sure, actually. He just called 2 minutes before you got here and told me he wouldn’t be attending tonight due to a prior commitment.” Steve shrugged and looked at the screen, knowing that he just lied to his friend. He didn’t like the feeling, but he was happy to finally be alone with her.
After the first movie, they both agreed that The Outsiders would be a better film to watch. About halfway through the feature, Steve turned to face y/n. She turned her head and smiled.
“What’s with the face, Harrington?”
“Can we talk?”
“Of course we can. What about?”
“Well, for starters, I do know the real reason Dustin had to cancel.”
“Oh?”
“Yeah. Earlier today, at the video store, while you were looking at the movies, he and I had a talk. He offered to ‘cancel’ so I could be alone with you for a few hours, since we never get that opportunity anymore.”
“So, why did you want to get alone time with me?” y/n suddenly felt awkward and began to play with the strings on her hoodie. Well, it wasn’t technically her hoodie, but that didn’t bother her.
“I’ve kinda been keeping this secret from you for quite some time & our groups mantra is that friends don’t lie so I really need to tell you.”
“Steve, you’re scaring me now.” She shifted in her seat, so her full attention was on the boy in front of her. “What’s going on?”
“I love you. And not just because you’re my best friend. But because you’re the best person I know. You’re so sweet and caring and whenever I’m around you, I fall under your spell and will do anything you ask me to. It’s kind of cheesy, but whenever I hear your name, I think back to the first time I ever heard your voice and whenever I close my eyes, I see your face. You’re the most beautiful human being, both inside and out. And I’m honestly so in love with you.” Steve chanced looking at her but when they made eye contact, he wanted to take it all back.
When their eyes met, y/n quickly looked down and stood up. “I’m sorry, Steve. I-I just remembered my mom wanted me to keep an eye on my siblings tonight. I gotta go.”
Before he could offer her a ride home to make sure she was safe, she was already out the door. Steve threw his head back and groaned, making a mental note to blame Dustin for the sudden confidence.
Y/n was on her way to Dustin’s house when the sky got darker. She stopped in her tracks and was ready to defend herself from whatever decided to come out of the shadows and attack her.
The next few days were hard on Steve. He hadn’t seen or spoken to y/n since he poured his heart out to her, only for her to basically reject him. When he mentioned it to Dustin 2 days later, the kid got lost in thought.
“I don’t see why she would reject you like that. I could’ve sworn she felt the same as you did.”
“Yeah, well she doesn’t. And I’m not surprised. I haven’t exactly been the best guy in the world lately. Or even a hero really.”
“Steve, you helped save the world three times. You’ve kept all of us safe multiple times and you always put yourself first when it comes to danger. And it’s all to protect us. That literally screams hero. IF she can’t see that, then it’s her loss.”
Dustin was currently waiting for Eddie to arrive to the D&D game. He was starting to get worried when it came to him being 30 minutes late. Eddie was never late. So when he finally arrived, Dustin made sure to give him a lecture.
“Eddie, what the hell? I was so worried about you. I haven’t heard from my best friend for 4 days and then I didn’t hear from you. I was scared something happened to you and I don’t feel like losing 2 friends in a week.”
“Sorry, man. My girlfriend has been missing for a few days and I went by her house to check on her. Her parents said they haven’t seen her in a few days either.”
“Your girlfriend? Since when do you have a girlfriend?”
“For a few months.” Eddie chuckled. “Her name’s y/n. You’ll love her,” he sighed. “if we ever find her.”
“Wait, y/n? As in y/n l/n?”
“Yeah, why?”
“That’s the best friend I was talking about. I haven’t seen her since movie night on Friday. I had to cancel and left her alone with Steve.” Dustin looked at Eddie with wide eyes. “That’s why she rejected him. Because she’s seeing you, not because she doesn’t like him. That makes total sense.”
“Hold up. Can you back up a bit? So Steve is the last person to see her?”
“As far as I know, yes. But he hasn’t seen her since she left his place that night. Nobody has heard from her since.”
“We have to find her, Henderson. I can’t lose her.” Eddie looked at the kid with hope in his eyes.
“Lucky for you, my friends and I have experienced something similar to this before. I know exactly what to do.”
Steve was sitting on the hood of his car in Dustin’s driveway when he got out of Eddie’s van. He walked up to Steve and Eddie followed behind him.
“You’ve known y/n the longest. What do you know about her?” Dustin asked Steve, who was focused more on Eddie than the kid.
“Not much more than you, I assume.”
“Does she have a favorite spot to go when she’s sad? Somewhere that she loves to be?”
“The arcade or the video store are her two most frequented spots in town. Other than that, I know she tends to go hang out at lover’s lake whenever her parents make her upset.” Steve nodded his head towards Eddie. “What’s he doing here?”
“We’ll have time for that later. Right now, we need to focus on finding y/n.” Dustin ushered his friends into his bedroom and sat on the edge of his bed with Eddie while Steve paced.
“Let’s check the video store first. The arcade is right next door. Plus, Robin is working and I gotta return Sleepaway Camp so we can kill two birds with one stone I guess.” Steve looked at the boys. “Or you two can check lover’s lake and I can check the arcade and video store. I assume you’ll end up going in his van anyway, Dustin.”
“Yeah, sounds like a solid plan. What happens if we find her?” Eddie questioned. Dustin grabbed his walkie talkies and handed each of them one.
“If anyone finds her, this is how we’ll communicate. Got it?”
“Yes, captain.” Eddie responded and Steve just nodded. “Let’s go then. We might not have a lot of time.”
The 3 boys rushed out of the house and got into the vehicles, with Steve driving towards the video store and Eddie taking off towards lover’s lake. When Steve arrived at the video store, Robin looked at him with a puzzled look.
“You don’t work today. Plus you look like shit. What’s up?”
“Friday night, I told y/n how I felt about her and she, uh, got up and left my place. Haven’t heard from her since. Has she been by?”
“No. Haven’t seen her since Friday afternoon.”
“Nobody has.” Steve sighed and leaned against the counter. “Dustin and Eddie are out searching at lover’s lake.”
“Eddie Munson is involved in your search? That’s odd.”
“Right? I thought the same thing when he got out of his van earlier at Dustin’s.”
“Maybe he’s concerned about Dustin. I mean, he does spend a lot of time with him, and he must know about the sibling-like bond that he and y/n share.”
“Yeah maybe. Or he’s the reason she basically rejected me.”
“Steve, let’s just focus on finding y/n first. I’ll keep an eye out here in case anyone has seen her. You go check the arcade.”
Steve ran out and headed to the arcade next door. His eyes scanned the crowded room, but he didn’t see y/n. He spotted the manager and headed over.
“Hey, Steve. What brings you by?”
“I’m on a mission. Have you seen y/n lately?”
“Not since Friday. Why? She okay?”
“No. She left my house Friday night, and nobody’s seen her since. Will you keep an eye out here just in case she comes by? I’ll check back in a few hours if we don’t find her.”
“Of course. Good luck. I hope you find her.”
Steve left another building without any results and slowly climbed into his car. He rested his head against the steering wheel and was about to give up when the walkie started buzzing.
“Steve, we found her.” Dustin’s voice rang through the speaker. “Well, sorta. You gotta come down here. Bring Robin. We may need her.”
“Copy that. On my way.” He clicked the button off and walked back into Family Video. “Robin, they found her. Dustin told me to bring you because we may need you.”
“Alright. Let me just close up. Been kind of a slow day.” She hopped over the counter and made sure everyone was out before locking up and following Steve to his car. “Think she’s okay?”
“Oh god, I hope so.” He sighed and headed towards lover’s lake. When he got there, Dustin ran out to meet them. “Alright, Henderson. What’s going on?”
“We don’t know. It’s like she’s in a sort of trance. I can’t pull her out so I was hoping that you or Robin could do it.”
“Where’s Eddie?” Robin asked as the three of them walked around the boathouse
“He’s with her right now. We’ve tried everything we could think of.” the trio approached Eddie, who was currently pacing back and forth.
“Have you guys tried breaking this ‘spell’ with a kiss?” Steve asked. Both Dustin and Eddie turned their heads quickly then looked at each other.
“It crossed my mind for sure, but what if it doesn’t work? What if it’s not the right way to break it and we never get her back?” Eddie sat on the ground and pulled his knees towards his chest. “I can’t keep losing people, especially not her, okay? We need to come up with a way to break this and get her back.”
“We will, Eddie. I promise.” Dustin tried his best to reassure his friend that everything would be okay.
“But what if we don’t? Man, I may never get to tell her that I love her...and I really, really love her.”
“Take it from me, dude. Telling her exactly how you feel may not be the best thing to do. It’s only going to scare her off.” Steve sighed and looked at y/n’s tranced body. Her eyes were wide open and everything about her was normal. The only problem was that she was unresponsive.
“You got a problem with me, Harrington? If so, just come out and say it.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Why are you trying to tell me what to say to my own girlfriend, man?”
“Girlfriend? What?”
“Y/n has been my girlfriend for 5 months and the last time anyone was with her, was Friday when she was with you. Why didn’t you make sure she was safe? Why didn’t you let her….why didn’t you let her stay the night?”
“I may have said some things that scared her off. But in my defense, she was not exactly shutting me down whenever I flirted with her. She’s my best friend and she didn’t even mention you two were together. Are you sure you were even that serious?”
“Steve, stop. We’re not here to pick fights, okay? What we need to focus on is figuring out how to break her out of this trance-like state that she’s in. We don’t even know how long she’s been stuck like this, alright? So that last thing we need is you two dumbasses fighting over who loves her more or who deserves to be with her.” Robin pushed herself off the tree she was leaning against and walked in front of y/n.
“Maybe you should try the kiss. It could possibly break her but we won’t know unless we try.” Dustin sighed.
“Were you talking to me or him?”
“Me, obviously. I am her boyfriend.”
“But what if you’re not her true love?”
“Steve, just shut up about it. You kiss her first and if she doesn’t wake up, then we know it wasn’t meant to be and then Eddie can do it.”
Steve looked at Eddie silently, waiting for permission. Eddie just sighed and nodded slowly, looking away when Steve kissed y/n. When she didn’t make any moves, Steve sat down and sighed heavily.
“So it’s not me then. God, I wish it was.”
“Hey, we don’t know that exactly. Sometimes it takes a minute or two.” Eddie looked at the guy in front of him and patted his shoulder. After a few minutes of no response, it was Eddie’s turn. He gently cupped his girlfriends face and kissed her softly. When her hands found their way around his neck, Dustin cheered behind them.
“I honestly can’t believe that worked.” Robin rolled her eyes but smiled anyway. She walked over to Steve and gave him a pat on the back. “You tried your best, man. It’s not like she rejected you because she didn’t like you. She’s just really into Eddie.”
“I know. And I’m glad she found someone who makes her happy. She deserves it. But I just wish I could’ve had a chance at least. Maybe one date or something.”
“You’re going to find someone who makes you feel the way y/n does. You just gotta give it some time, and before you know it, you’ll be over her and everyone will live happily ever after.” Robin glanced over at the couple and sighed contently when she noticed the smile adorning y/n’s face.
“I can’t believe you came looking for me.” she grinned up at Eddie who had an equally wide smile on his face.
“Of course I did, sweetheart.” Eddie kissed her head and pulled her into a bone crushing hug. “I love you.”
“What?”
“I said I love you. And I know that it’s a little late for me to tell you, knowing how you like to live your life in the fast lane, but it’s true. I’ve never loved anyone in my life, so I really wasn’t sure what it was supposed to feel like. But now I know that it’s late night talks and shared laughs over something as ridiculous as a phallically shaped leaf or vegetable. It’s being able to call someone your home and being able to feel warm in their embrace. It feels like no time has passed when you’re with the one you love, when in reality, hours have passed by. Being with you feels like all of that and honestly, I’m glad I know how it feels to love someone this much.”
“Eddie, I love you too.” y/n pulled him in for a kiss and when they pulled apart, she looked at Steve. “Hi.”
“Hi.” He responded softly. Eddie let her walk to him while he joined Robin and Dustin on the sidelines.
“Listen, about what you said on Friday…”
“No, it’s okay. You don’t have to say anything. I get why you reacted the way you did.”
“Listen, Steve. I do love you, truly I do. But it’s just not in the same way you love me. I know this is going to hurt for you to hear, but you’ve always been like a brother to me and I never ever want that to change.”
“I think I might actually be okay with being just friends.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. You seem to be really happy with Eddie and that’s good. He’s a pretty decent guy and I’m really glad you found someone who treats you right.” Steve smiled.
“Thank you, Harrington.” Eddie walked over to him and held out his hand. They shook, making Eddie smile. “Also, thank you for all your help with finding y/n. I owe you one, man.”
“All I ask is that you keep making y/n happy. Keep treating her right and we won’t have a problem.” Steve offered Eddie a smile and y/n beamed when she saw her two favorite guys getting along.
“I promise you that nothing bad will come from this relationship. Scouts honor.”
“Hey, maybe now that you guys are friends, Steve could play D&D with us sometime.” Dustin suggested, causing the four adults to quickly respond…
“No!”

transcript below [thanks for posting!]
It's In The Ball, Baby!!! Predictions For 1999 By Vince Russo
[transcriber's note: some words or statements aren't transcribed for sensitivity purposes, due to use of derogatory, homophobic, misogynistic, racist, and ableist language. typical 1999 vince russo commentary. you're not missing anything. i've also italicised owen's section as it's bittersweet and a personal highlight, and out of respect, given the timing of this publication.]
[ various tarot cards litter page one and two. left to right and top to bottom: "the emperor," stone cold steve austin. "the devil," ministry undertaker. "the hanged man," val venis. "the star," dwayne the rock johnson. "the magician," mankind (and mister socko) ]
There is no question that 1998 was the most rewarding year personally for this Editor-in-Chief. As a whole, the World Wrestling Federation once again overcame all adversity in maintaining our position as the leader in sports-entertainment. Through all the ups 'n' downz we rolled with it, finishing the year stronger than we started. The experience was gratifying. One that I was truly grateful for... and I'll remember forever. BUT- as our illustrious leader sayz - THAT WAS YESTERDAY.
1999. One can only imagine what will happen next. I mean... let's face it, in 98 we saw it all. [russo summarises a few gimmicks featured in 1998.] Howdaya top that?! It's real simple. BIGGER-BETTER-BADDER-BALLZIER!!!
Stone Cold Steve Austin Some say that it's literally impossible for Stone Cold Steve Austin to top the year he had in 1998. But... is it? Whatever the challenge, the two-time former World Wrestling Federation Champion somehow, some way will find a way to overcome it. There is no doubt in [my] mind that the Texas Rattlesnake will once again reign as the Federation's Champion in 1999. Despite some "unthinkable opponents, Austin will be in the driver's seat by the dead of winter, only to come across his biggest test to date.
The Rock Ah, yes, the PEOPLE'S Champion. By the time we get to the "Grandaddy of 'em all," The Rock's run will come to a Stone Cold end. However, if the Rock's goin' down... he ain't goin' down alone. Look for the "People's Heel Boss" to hit Rock Bottom as well. However, following the short tailspin, The Rock will rise to his greatest height ever - perhaps making a few people jealous along the way.
Mankind/Dude Love/Cactus Jack SOCK RULZ IN 1999!!! You got that right - Mr. Socko will reach cult hero status in 1999, perhaps stepping on his friends along the way. The popularity may be too much for Mankind to handle, thus bringing our Cactus Jack on a more serious level. By the turn of the summer there will be no more fun and games for the double-crossed Mick Foley. Hindsight being 20/20... he never should have turned his HEAD!!!
D-Generation X Unfortunately, 1999 marks the end for perhaps the greatest faction to ever raise hell in the World Wrestling Federation. Billy and Road Dog will go their separate wayz in search of singles titles. HHH will get extremely greedy, losing Chyna along the way, [...] and X-Pac will shine as a solo competitor claiming the Intercontinental Title within the year. Only one man will be able to possibly reunite the super group and his initials will be S.M. Oh, you mean Super Man? Perhaps.
Goldust Flying solo Goldust will once again wear Federation gold. By the end of the year there will be the possibility of a family reunion; however, it won't include a wife or a daughter.
Steve Blackman Blackman will turn black heart sometime in 1999. After a succession of disappointments, the Lethal Weapon will begin to realize that nice guyz finish last. There is an outside shot of Blackman winning a title in 1999; however, it may be one of a BRAWLIN' nature.
Val Venis In a quest for absolute power, the Big Valbowski will make the mistake of picking fruit from a forbidden tree. The error of his decision will not only cost him opportunity, but perhaps even his job!
The Brood Beware of the Goth movement in 99. Together, Gangrel, Edge and Christian will change the face of the World Wrestling Federation as we know it. No, there won't be shadows, only darkness- TOTAL darkness. In the end it will all come together, and once the pieces are put into place- yo will be SHOCKED!!!
L.O.D. 2000 Trouble... HUGE trouble. After discovering that Droz was at the root of all their evils, the Legion of Doom try to salvage [...] the remains... but fail. In the end, perhaps the greatest team in the history of wrestling will be pitted against each other... with only the strongest surviving.
[ various tarot cards litter page three and four. left to right and top to bottom: "strength," kane. "the tower," ken shamrock. "judgement," d-x. "the high priestess," sable. "the fool," al snow (and HEAD) ]
Bart Gunn The Lumberin' Lefty will continue to KO opponents until members of an outside world step up for the challenge. Now, I'm not sayin' that Bart will get beat, but what I am sayin' is that it may take a TANK to stop him!!!
The Devil's Advocates After disappointing World Wrestling Federation careers, Faarooq and Bradshaw finally tap their potential en route to becoming a cold, ruthless killing machine. From his perch, Jackyl pulls the strings as the devilish duo capture tag team gold. WARNING: There may be more here than meets the eye... MUCH more!
Oddities The Parade may grow, but only after losing their leader along the way. A major influence may assist in making the Oddities perhaps the hippest happenin' in the land; however, their lovely lady may not be down with it. In the end she may eventually jump tracks in search of a much darker tunnel.
Al Snow & Head Al Snow's Cult following will have a tremendous impact on the Federation in 1999. Not only will HEAD merchandise go through the roof, but look for Al to put together a unit consisting of outcasts and underdogs who will come into their own under his guidance and leadership. Yes, the J.O.B. Squad will finally find a home.
The Undertaker You ain't seen nothin' yet!!! The Undertaker will be prominent in 1999- more dark, more eviil than we've ever witnessed in him before. In an effort to attain supreme power, Taker will turn to the supernatural and develop a [...] cult following that will endanger the future of the World Wrestling Federation. Believe me- Mr. McMahon will learn the true meaning of the Dark Side.
Kane Perhaps the only man capable of dismantling the Undertaker's evil empire, Kane knows the strengths and WEAKNESSES of the Lord of Darkness. Even though the brothers will remain bitter enemies, Kane will become a huge fan favorite and perhaps even ultimately the savior of the World Wrestling Federation.
Ken Shamrock In order to combat the factional forces that will threaten the Federation in 1999, look for Ken Shamrock to form a tactical group of "shooters" that will take up action to serve and protect. Some will be familiar faces, but look for former business associates of Shamrock to join the cause as well.
Owen Hart There is no doubt that Owen Hart will once again reach championship status in the Federation in 1999. Before the year is out, it will be a breakthrough year for the youngest Hart, as he breaks from the shadows and establishes himself among the elite.
Mark Henry & D'Lo Brown Both up-and-coming superstars will come into their own in 1999. They will experience a long run as tag team champions due to the guidance of an unlikely leader.
The Godfather Wait until you see who he hires as his madame.
"Dr. Death" Steve Williams See Ken Shamrock.
Jeff Jarret & Debra McMichael In 1999 we will find out rather quickly that "Debra gets what Debra wants." With looks that kill, and a mind just as dangerous, Ms. Debra will have a dramatic influence on Jeff Jarrett's career. It's been a few years since he's worn gold, but- with partner- Jarrett will don it again [...] in 1999. P.S. Don't be surprised if Debra "crosses the battle lines" sometime during the summer months.
Marc Mero & Jacqueline The honeymoon may be over between the Marvelous One and his lady in 1999, but look for both to achieve success on their own. Jacqueline will continue her quest for the Federation Women's Title, while Mero may take on more of a "business" role in the ranks.
Dan Severn See Ken Shamrock.
Big Boss Man Look for the Big Boss man to beef up his security staff in 1999, leaving those who choose to break the law... wishing they never had.
Tiger Ali Singh Tiger will achieve great success in 1999, en route to becoming the World Wrestling Federation Rookie of the Year. Sometime around SummerSlam Tiger may pull a HUGE upset, obtaining Federation gold much sooner than anyone- including himself- could ever have imagined.
Southern Justice Under new leadership, Dennis Knight and Mark Canterbury will become the best guns for hire that money can buy.
Sable Sable will set new standards as the World Wrestling Federation Women's Champion, but will suffer greatly from a deal gone awry sometime around mid-1999. Also look for a feud with the boss to lead to Austin-like heights.
Other Notes Between now and the "Grandaddy of 'em all" a major player will join the World Wrestling Federation... and things, as we know them... will never be the same!!! [ graphic of the scratchy "WF" logo used from 1997 to 2002 ]

high score - peter maximoff
peter maximoff x gn!reader
warnings: light language
you sat in peter’s basement watching some random show on tv that you weren’t paying attention to. in all honestly, you just wanted to spend some time with him, but he was too wrapped up in an intense game of pac-man as he tried to beat his ‘high score’
deciding to ignore this slight annoyance, you turned your focus back to whatever was on tv. “shit!” peter yelled, smacking his hand on the machine. you turned you head towards his direction and saw the screen flash GAME OVER. you laughed in a voice you thought was low, but his neck almost broke from how fast he looked over at you.
“what’s so funny huh? you act like you could do any better” peter said in a sarcastic tone, voice laced with venom.
you thought for a second before standing up and walking near where he was sitting. “now that you mention it, i have a proposition,” you said, leaning on the game, arms crossed. peter raised an eyebrow, questioning your proposition.
“if, when, i win, you gotta watch a movie of my choice with me. and if i lose you can keep on playing for as long as you want. that sound fair?”
peter nodded and whispered to himself it’s not like you’re gonna win anyway so why not
you rolled you eyes and shoved him out of view of the screen. he scrambled to regain his balance and stood behind you with his arms crossed, ‘casually’ looking over your shoulder.
trying to ignore his reflection on the screen, your fingers swiftly moved the joystick around. you chewed your lip as your foot began tapping a quick rhythm on the cheap carpet floor. your eyes flicked to the top corner of the screen where it read
YOUR SCORE: 1,379,540 HIGH SCORE: 2,107,224
you could basically hear peter’s heart beating, hoping you wouldn’t show him up on his favorite game.
a few minutes and 2 lives later, your score had only gotten higher. at this point, you only needed about 2,000 more points to beat peter’s high score. you smiled as you thought about what movie you two would watch, and ultimately decided on fast times at ridgemont high. peter groaned as he saw the high score go higher at the same rate as your score.
you purposely ran into a ghost to end the game and you turned to him with a shit-eating grin on your face, watching him as he looked at you in disbelief.
“HOW???” he yelled looked at the screen when it now read
HIGH SCORE: 1,497,336
“magic,” you said with a shrug.
you pecked his cheek and then went to grab the fast times vhs, popping it in the machine as peter slowly walked over to the couch and sat down, still in shock. you plopped down next to him going for his hand as the movie started
a/n: hey guys i forgot how to write tbh 😟 lmk if you liked it

one.
You always had an image in your head that in college, you were going to live your best life, away from your nagging family and working part time jobs and getting everything you wanted.
Well, you did get away from all the nagging but life was utterly disheveled, assignments here and deadlines there, coffee stains on your papers and you were ready to pluck out all your hair if it meant you'd get one less assignment.
Because of a family vacation, you got to your college late so you were assigned the last available apartment which you shared with another girl and two boys, you could say you got along with the others pretty fine and they did their job when it was their turn to cook and clean too but Kim Jungwoo, the school's number one and most treasured student wasn't quite the extrovert.
He was always in his room, headphones in, playing games all the time with his bedroom door wide open, and slept the whole morning through till noon and got up to leave for his classes which you heard that he went to the school administration to request since he had to "study" in the morning.
You scoffed as you ticked 'no' on the paper that was given to every student in your year. It was a pamphlet about the upcoming field trip. You got late again to uni this sem and had a lot of old assignments to catch up on, this three days free could be so much help if I focused on my work, you said to yourself, sighing as put the paper in your binder to hand it to the CR later.
You slung your tote on your shoulder exiting your room to go pick an apple from the pantry in your apartment when a shirtless Jungwoo in gray sweats with his morning bed hair stood on the tall stool, rubbing his eyes.
You quickly shifted your gaze to the floor and said through gritted teeth, "Well, you're up early." And walked towards the door to leave.
"Yes, good morning to you too, Miss Y/N." He said, voice clearly ten octaves lower.
two.
"Yeah, I'm skipping, I have a lot to catch up on from August, I don't think I'll have the time to do so after this months ends. Sorry, Giselle." You craned your neck back from your seat and gave Aeri, who sat on your bed, an apologetic smile.
"I've been nagging you for two hours now I won't say anything anymore. But like, Y/n," she chuckled, smirking with her eyebrows raised. "I mean, if you two have plans already, you could have just told us or something, we wouldn't even question it."
You were puzzled and the feeling of giddiness weirdly built up at the possibilities but you shrugged it off. "Ugh, Aeri, what are you on about now? Who two?"
"Nah, it's just Jaehyun texted me saying that Jungwoo won't budge, he keeps saying he doesn't want to go on a 'shitty' trip," she made air quotes as she rolled her eyes. "And won't even say why, so like yeah, my conclusion is that you two probably discussed something sus."
You were almost laughing, you slapped her arm. "Aeri, just shut up, how would he even know I entered a 'no' on my form. You guys need to stop, Jungwoo and I barely even talk."
"I heard from some sources that he asked the CR who all submitted a no," Her eyebrows wiggled at an extremely annoying pace as a mocking smile crept up her face.
"Aeri, it's literally just a coincidence, Jungwoo and me? Nah, it don't even sound right." You shook your head.
"Well, enjoy with your secret lover, I gotta go pack," Aeri said, bending her body perfectly for you to miss her arm from slapping it.
three.
Jaehyun and Giselle had left with the others in your year early in the morning. It was Jungwoo's turn to cook today but since you were up and didn't need to pack, you made a simple breakfast of toast and scrambled eggs for the two.
After they left, you stretched your arms and stood on your tippy toes to get that stretch and was on your way to your room to get your books. You wanted to study on the kitchen counter today for a change since Jungwoo won't be up until noon.
College level maths wasn't your cup of tea and probably not of your interest as well but it had been your favorite subject in high school and being the hoarder you are, it was a bit tough for you to walk up to the school admin and say you wanted to drop the course so you promised to study hard this semester and drop it and be free on the next semester. But, if i do drop maths, who's gonna teach my kids? I gotta learn it for them.
It had been an hour on the same worksheet and you let out so many frustrated sighs in between and ran your hands through your hair, annoyed for wanting to fight with a few words and numbers combined on a piece of paper.
"Before you pull out all your hair, want me to help you?" a voice spoke. Your head shot up to see Jungwoo's head peeking up from the back of the couch in the main living room. He must have slept there last night, WHAT! I MUST HAVE WOKEN HIM UP.
You mentally cursed yourself for speaking out your frustrations and ranting to yourself for a whole lot of time. Oh please say you woke up just now, please.
Jungwoo rubbed his eyes with one hand and another hand was slipped into the pocket of his gray sweatpants, he walked over to you. His as-always gray lounge wear perfectly on his body, falling at all the right places. You could stare at this boy all day.
You quickly shifted your gaze to act busy organizing your papers, you were suddenly nervous. And when he pulled the chair besides yours and leaned in to see what you were struggling with, you were a nervous wreck, your whole body just a bundle of nerves.
You gulped passing him the worksheet paper and an extra pencil. "Could you help me with questions 2,8,13,17,19,24 and 28?" You smiled at him sheepishly feeling extremely small beside mr.bigbrain.
He chuckled and looked up to meet your eyes. It amazed you how god could possible be so unfair to sculpt someone like Kim Jungwoo, perfectly chiseled jawline, high nose bridge, thick eyebrows, plump lips and the cutest eyes. He looked better than all of the world's pizzas combined, even just after waking up.
"Um so these question, should I solve it to you or tell you some hints and make you do it?" Jungwoo spoke, almost cautiously.
"Okay, give me some hints, and help me solve them if I get stuck?" You looked at him almost making you choke how close you two were sitting next to each other. You faked a cough and backed away.
After going through half your doubts, his head resting on his folded arms on the counter table, he spoke, "Seems like you don't really, really like this subject, why do you still take it, I thought you were a chemistry major?"
"I am," you said, eyes and hands all focused on solving the now-easy questions, "I'm taking it just because." You kept it short not wanting to explain everything to him.
"I mean," Jungwoo said, straightening his back and upper body fully faced to you, a smug smile slowly spreading across his face, "If that's your number one worry, you can trust me with the kids, I'll teach them."
Your eyebrows knit together in question as you looked at Jungwoo, a playful smile, almost a smirk, on his face. You paused in thought for a second and realized that you said out all your thoughts out loud and Jungwoo wasn't asleep the whole time.
Shoot. God, Why?!
"What?" Your eyes widened.
"The only thing you need to do is marry me," he shrugged and smiled as he noticed the tips of your ears brightening with color beyond your control, you were in shock, was the Kim Jungwoo possibly flirting with me?
"Go wash up, you stink, you nerd." You pushed him by his shoulder as you got up from your seat to take a break or better, run away from this situation.

Can I request just a nice fluffy day at the mall or arcade with Peter Maximoff, but also Jean, Scott, Ororo, Kurt, and Jubilee are there, like the whole friend group went out? Gn!reader please
Just a day off
pairings: JUST A BUNCH OF MUTANTS ENJOYING THEIR LIFE. this is peter maximoff x gen!reader if you squint your eyes
warnings: none
summary: Scott and Peter decide that it's time for a break from school and organise a small trip.
a/n: this is a bit rushed and very bad because, honestly, i had to force myself to write it due to my writer block. i hope you'll like it anyway :)
also hehe roger rabbit best 80's movies fr
You should have known that something was wrong when you heard both Peter and Scott saying that at the same time. Only one of them was already trouble alert, but both?
"WE HAVE AN IDEA."
You were seriously worried for your and your friend's sake.
"What idea?" Ororo asked, her expression more calm than yours, but still clearly scared. "Please tell me none of us is going to die." Jean added.
Peter rolled his eyes. "Ah ah. Very funny." Scott shook his head, his excitement hadn't faded for an instant. "We, my friends, are skipping school today. We're going to the mall, the arcade, the movies, even freaking shopping. So? Who's in?"
Jubilee was the first one to answer. "I am! I really need a day off." You nodded in agreement. "Sure, why not?"
"I'll tell you why." Ororo answered. "We are the teachers, Scott. We can't simply skip school!" Jubilee shrugged. "Well I am not, and I can't wait to go out." Jean grinned at her friend, and looked at her boyfriend. "She's not so wrong." This time Peter shook his head. "Nuh-uh. I don't care. It's just a day off! What's the worst that could happen?"
You chuckled. "I can't believe I'm about to say it, but they're not entirely wrong."
"Did you just say we're right?"
"That's so not what I said."
"I think that's exactly what you said-"
"Enough!" Ororo said, exasperated. "Fine! We'll go to the mall or whatever you want to do!" Scott and Peter ran to their friend to hug her. "You're the best, you know that?" The young mutant laughed. "I know."
~~~
"Ok so we all agree-"
"That you suck at pac-man? Yeah. Yeah we do." Scott stuck his tongue out at you, making you chuckle. "That's not true, I'm great."
"Scott love, you got the lowest score." Jean made him notice, the yellow numbers flashing at him from the game screen. “That does not mean I’m not good.” He replied. You laughed. “Yeah, it just means we’re better than you.” He raised his hand to take his glasses off, but Ororo stopped before he could.
“First, you’d kill her. Second, remember what you promised: no mutations allowed today. Only a group of normal people hanging together.” Peter patted her bak. “Yes Ororo don’t worry. Y/n? You up next. What do you want to do now?” You tapped your finger on your chin. “Who framed Roger Rabbit.” It was more of a question than a sentence. “What’s that?”
“A new movie that came out a few days ago. It’s this detective who helps a cartoon solving a murder.”
“A what helps a what solving a what?”
“They’re right, I heard of it too, it actually sounds pretty cool!” Jubilee agreed with you. “Hm, I’d like to see this Roger Rabbit too.” Kurt said, shyly. “Sounds like a plan then. To the movies!” Jean exclaimed excitedly. After paying the tickets, they noticed that they were the only ones in the room. “Woah. At least we have all the seats for us!” Scott started running towards the first line. “Right! I wanna try all of them.” Peter added, following his friends.
Ororo shook her head. “And when you’re gonna realize this was a terrible idea, don’t come to me.” She said, referring to her friends as Peter and Scott run through the room. you chuckled and just picked a seat, as the movie began.
Almost two hours later, once it was over, you got up and stretched. “Well? How was it?” Storm smiled. “Ok I’ll admit it. It was fun, I liked it.” Jubilee threw her arms around yours and Ororo shoulders. “LIked it? I loved it! It was amazing.” Kurt nodded. “Yeah, it was pretty cool.” Peter and Scott catched up behind them as they got out of the theater. “I agree, even if I’m not sure I understood everything.”
You rolled your eyes at Peter's comment. “Well, you spent the entire movie changing seats every time a scene switched. To get a “full experience”. Jean scoffed. “Ah, not true. They stayed pretty still during Jessica’s performance.” Peter blushed as Scott hugged his girlfriend from behind. “C’mon, you know I got a thing for one redhead and one redhead only.” He smirked, and kissed Jean who smiled at him.
Jubilee faked gag as the others, you included, laughed. “It’s late. We should get going.” Ororo interrupted them, after they stopped laughing. “Nah, it’s only- 8 p.m.?” Jean scrunched her nose. “It is kinda late.” This time it was Scott who rolled his eyes. “Fine, party pooper.” He finally agreed. As you all headed back to the mansion, you stopped behind to watch the group. Jean and Scott were holding hands, Jubilee and Kurt laughing at something Ororo had said.
Peter noticed you had slowed down, and stopped to walk with you. "What are you thinking of?” You smiled, looking forward. “Us. Our friendship. It’s in moments like these that I’m glad I know you guys.” Peter laughed. “Aw, ‘cause you’re in others?” You punched him playfully, laughing with him. “No, I get what you mean. I barely had my mom before this and now… I have true friends.” He took your hand. “I’m glad to know you guys too.” You smiled at him and squeezed his hand, before he yelled to Scott “Race to the mansion, last one to arrive owes everyone a dinner!” Then took you in his arms and started running. Even at full speed, you could still hear the familiar groan of Scott.
“Damn it Maximoff!”
1973 pt2
Summary: (y/n) life hasn’t been the same since the school closed down and neither has her father. But there seems to be a sign of hope of the man he used to be returning with this new mission.
Warnings: I’m not doing this word for word with the movie ok. You’ve seen the movie you know how it goes.
a/n: I hope y’all like this. I know it’s going slow but I want build relationships with the characters around her not just with Peter. You got Logan who’s like the big bro everyone needs and Hank the fun uncle obviously and even Charles who right now is the absent father figure she cant even call dad. Hope you like that touch, her just referring to him as Charles other than in sarcastic context. @whyiswhatahow @willalaufeyson
We had been in the car for a few hours now with no breaks. We needed to get to Washington, DC as quickly as we could. After we found Logan’s friend, who was luckily living in Virginia only an hour away from the pentagon, we packed our things and left really early in the morning. We should be at the pentagon by 11:00.
Charles had insisted on driving. Which is bad considering he drives like an absolute madman. Hank looked like he would puke. When you're like Charles Xavier and you give up all hope, you too might drive like a madman. Logan and I, we’re in the back seat.
I’m still on the fence about believing him. Hank and Charles jumped right into helping him break a criminal out of high security prison in the hopes of helping Raven, but for all we know, she’s not in any trouble and this guy is actually working for Eric.
I turn to face him, “So Logan, tell me more about the future?”
“I already told you, kid, it’s too dangerous for you to know more than you need to. You had a good life in the future. I don't wanna mess it up.”
“Who’s to say you telling me about my life isn’t the reason I have that life.”
“That’s not how this works. Once I do what I do here, and I go back. It will be like the last 50 years I know never happened.”
“Sounds to me like no matter what you tell me, it’s going to be different anyways.” He scoffed and rolled his eyes.
“Fine, don't tell me about the future. Tell me about this friend or yours. Why do we even need him of all mutants?”
“He’s name is Peter, when I met him he was much older. Let’s just say he has some personal stakes in this, just as you do. Even if he may not know it yet.”
“Can we even trust him? If you don’t meet him until years from now, who says he’ll be the same guy you knew?”
“I don’t know much about his life as a teenager but from what I heard he liked breaking into things just to prove he could do it.” Logan smiled like he remembered something, but shook his head and continued. “Don’t worry about him, though, I’m sure you’ll trust him once you meet him.”
After that, we sat in silence. He wasn’t going to answer my questions about the future, and there wasn’t much to ask about this Peter anymore. Even if I did have a feeling that there was something Logan wasn’t telling me about him. I kept reaching into his emotions and on the surface he felt like a smartalec who’s making inside jokes that we can’t understand, but when I looked any deeper it was pain, grief and regret all twisted inside him. I liked Logan, but I didn’t like being around him and his deep emotions.
After 4 hours on the road, we finally pulled up to this boy's house. It was fairly normal looking except for the burnt out welcome mat. Charles knocked on the door and only a few seconds later an exasperated looking woman opened the door. “What has he done now? Whatever it is, I'll pay for it.” I smiled, I could feel the emotions of a little girl inside the house. She was having a blast playing dress up, and it was one of the better feelings I’ve gotten in a while.
“We aren’t cops, ma’am, we just need to talk to Peter.”
She sighed and moved to let us in and pointed to where the stairs were to the basement. It was packed with dozens of boxes which looked to have been stolen. Off to the left there was a brand-new Pac-Man machine and a pull-out couch. Right in front of the stairs, tho, was a ping pong table with a blur of silver running back and forth fast enough to play a game without a partner.
I couldn’t get a clear view of it at all, but it still spoke up. “Whatever it is, I didn't do it.”
“Of course you didn't.” Charles said sarcastically, scanning the room of all its stolen objects.
“Listen, Peter, we’re not cops.” Logan said, taking a step toward the table. Before he could take one more, the blur was gone.
“What is he? A teleporter?” Hank asked,
“I think he’s just fast.” I said. This Peter was definitely something. I couldn’t even see him for how fast he was going.
“Of course you’re not cops. If you were cops, why would you be driving a rental car?”
We all turned toward the voice. He was now sitting stretched out on the couch with a popsicle in hand. He had an arrogant smile and oddly enough silver hair that looked as if he may have stuck his head out a window of a moving car.
“Are you FBI?” I chuckled at the silly accusation, and I caught his eyes. For a moment, I felt a burst of nervousness that I wasn’t sure was mine. Then a gust of wind flew by me, and before I knew it the boy was standing only a few feet from us. “Nope, not FBI. Hey, what’s this gifted youngster place?” I looked in his hand and sure enough he had dear old dad's wallet.
“It’s an old card.” He said grumpily as he reached for his wallet. Peter only dropped the wallet and moved onto his Pac-Man game.
“He’s fascinating.” I said.
“He’s a pain in the ass.” Charles didn’t seem too pleased with this peter.
I just laughed at my dad’s irritation. I walked over to the arcade game next to where he was sitting. “You have to go left first if you're going to get around in time to beat the ghost.” I said getting absorbed deep into the game.
“How do you know that?”
“I memorized the levels.” I could see him give me a shocked look out of the corner of my eye, but I just kept staring at the screen. He felt nervous but impressed, and I was trying to not let it get to my head. “I have an eidetic memory.”
He turned back to his game. “Listen, Peter, we need your help to break someone out of prison.”
I pulled away from the game and took a few steps back over to the group. “You know that's illegal.” He said sarcastically. I laughed this time, and I felt Peter's emotions tense up.
“Only if you get caught.” I whipped back. Charles was giving me the dad side eye.
“What’s in it for me?”
I could tell Charles was getting annoyed. Mainly Because he was beginning to sober up from his hangover, but also because of the new kid peter being a quoted pain in the ass. “You, you kleptomaniac, get to break into the pentagon.”
Peter turned around, his eyes wide with excitement. For a moment he looked at me, questioning something. “How do I know I can trust you guys?”
“Because we’re just like you.” Hank said.
“Show him.” Charles almost smiled. Logan kept a straight but intense face as he let the bone-like claws rise from his knuckles.
Peter's face went white at the site. “That’s gross but… I’m in.”
Stick and poke
Prompt number: 7 “yes I did, what about it?”
Fandom: IT
Paring: Eddie Kaspbrak x reader (aged up to 17 or 18)
Rating: T
Word count: 1.7k
Warnings: Mentions of underage drinking. Mentions underage smoking. Mentions teens giving each other stick and pokes- I beg of you not to try at home! Swearing.
A/N: First time writing Eddie! I feel like all I write for now are Marvel and IT. Borderline punk and/or rebellious Eddie.
You and the rest of the losers are sitting in a circle on the floor of your underground clubhouse in the barrens playing a game of truth or dare. In the middle of the circle sits a large decanter of some brown alcohol you can’t be bothered to remember the name of, each time someone calls chicken they have to take a swig of the drink. As the game progresses, the liquid starts to steadily decrease, most of the time due to Richie’s questions.
The losers not caring if they get drunk, each one lied to their parents and said they were spending the night at one of the others houses. So none of them have to worry about stumbling home drunk in the middle of the night, instead all of them staying overnight at the clubhouse.
“Dare,” you smirk confidently at your friend with coke bottle glasses. So far you’re the only person to pick dare with the trashmouth, the rest choosing truth and most using chickens.
“(Y/N/N), I dare you to” Richie smiles mischievously, you regret letting the trashmouth in on your feelings for his best friend. “To kiss Eds.”
“What?” Eddie looks panicked and starts hyperventilating. He reaches for his inhaler, quickly taking two puss from it. “That’s disgusting! Do you know how many diseases you can get from a single kiss?”
Eddie continues to ramble on about how unsanitary it is and you eye the decanter, which Richie stole from his father’s alcohol cabinet, in front of you. You’ve had the least amount of alcohol so far this game and the only one not to chicken with Richie, you aren’t about to start now. You roll your eyes and turn to your left, where Eddie’s sitting beside you, you grab him by the face and pull him in for a quick peck.
Richie’s eyes grow considerably larger behind his glasses, Bev’s cigarette almost falls from her mouth as her jaw goes slack, Ben’s giggling at what just happened, Stan’s slapping a five into Bill’s hand losing a long standing bet between the two, Mike is whooping at you two. And poor Eddie is gaping at you, clearly flustered and looking for words.
“You kissed me!” you aren’t sure if it’s a question or an exclamation. What surprises you though, is that he doesn’t go for his inhaler again, nor does he reach into his fanny pack for one of his many pills.
“Yes I did, what about it?” you aren’t sure how you want him to respond to that, but you know it’s not the silence that you’re met with.
A few hours later you’re sitting in folding chairs in one corner of the clubhouse with Richie, giving him a stick and poke as he tells you about the latest prank he pulled at school. It’s a prank you witnessed, but that doesn’t seem to register in his slightly fuzzy tipsy brain. By now the few shots you had to endure our pretty much out of your system, feeling and abating completely sober unlike the rest.
“Quit moving!” you scold Richie for what feels like the hundredth time, he’s moving his hands while telling his story. Which isn’t helpful since you're trying to do his stick and poke of a pac-man ghost on his inner wrist, and he keeps almost screwing you up. Eddie’s eyes are on you as you finally wipe Richie’s arm clean, done with the little tattoo.
“You want one Eddie spaghetti?” you hold up the needle you just used on Richie. You reach into the fanny pack wrapped securely around Eddie’s waist, which causes the poor boy to grow flustered again, pulling a disinfecting wipe out of it to wipe the needle clean. After that you use Bev’s lighter, running the flame over the needle to make sure it’s sterilized.
“N-no, he stutters out, eyes focused on the way your lips form your words. “My mom would kill me.”
“She doesn’t need to find out about it Eddie,” you wave the needle teasingly in front of his face. He’s as sober as you, possibly even more than you, so you trust his judgement. If he had anymore than two shots all those hours ago you never would have asked. “You just need to hide it until you move out in a couple months.”
“Okay!” you’re surprised when he agrees, so is Richie who is staring with wide eyes and a gaping mouth.
“What do you want and where do you want it?” you ask, quickly adding the next sentence when you notice Richie about to speak. “Beep beep Richie.”
“I’m not really sure,” Eddie plays with the zipper on his fanny pack, taking a seat across from you in the chair Richie recently abandoned. “But it has to be somewhere I can hide it.”
“Hmmm,” you start mentally ticking off places you can’t do the tattoo, your mind coming up with multiple scenarios on Mrs. Kaspbrak accidentally finding the tattoo. “I could do the base of your neck, like where the collar of your shirt goes. Or I could do your side, below your ribs.”
“How about my side,” it isn’t a question so much as a statement. “I want to be able to see it.”
“Any ideas on what you want, or do I get to surprise you?” Eddie fiddles with the bottom of his shirt and you wonder if he’s going to back out.
“Surprise me,” Eddie nods, confident in his decision.
“Do a penis!” Richie hollers, taking a swig of the alcohol left in the decanter.
“Shut the fuck up Richie,” Eddie snaps and you giggle at the two.
“You need to take your shirt off Eds,” you both blush at your words, causing Richie to wolf whistle.
“Look at the Edster stripping for (Y/N)!” Richie hollers a little too loud, not that you’re worried anyone will hear you in the middle of nowhere.
“Beep beep Richie!” Bev calls back, leaning her head on Ben’s shoulder.
You scoot your chair beside Eddie’s, facing his right side you put one leg going behind his chair and the other towards the front, sitting in a v-like shape. You grab another wipe from Eddie’s fanny pack, cleaning the area of skin below his ribcage, Eddie’s right hand shoots out and grabs your knee, squeezing his eyes tight before you even have the chance to dip the needle in the ink.
“As much as I enjoy your hand on my knee,” you admit. “It’s kinda in the way.”
You pry his right hand off of your skin, placing it on the back of your chair. He reaches his left hand across his body so he’s once again holding onto your right knee. You let him stay in the position, knowing he needs it mentall, and he’s managed to not twist his side and mess up your tattooing area.
You decide to do a larger tattoo for Eddie than you did Richie, go big or go home. Right? You contemplated doing a small little fanny pack, but you didn’t want Eddie to take your teasing as an insult. Instead you decide on a basic mountain range, three overlapping triangles, and a sun poking out from behind them, a simple circle. A simple serene tattoo that Eddie can look at and calm down to when he has a panic attack.
As you actually start to tattoo his side, his grip on your knee tightens. You don’t mind though, you’re enjoying the weight and warmth his hand provides. Eddie’s eyes are on you the entire time, committing your concentration face to memory. He tries not to shiver every time your fingers run over his exposed skin, a warm fuzzy feeling growing within him.
You’re focusing so intently that you don’t notice when Eddie becomes slightly more adventurous and lets his hand drift up to your thigh. Finally done with the tattoo you wipe it clean a final time, leaning back to admire your work. It’s your best tattoo yet, if you do say so yourself.
“Remember to clean it everyday,” you aren’t sure why you’re giving Eddie, of all people, hygiene advice. He isn’t Richie, he has common sense. “And if it gets infected tell your mom right away, don’t try to hide it out of fear of getting in trouble. I’ll take all the blame Eddie, say I made you get it because I wanted to practice.”
Eddie squeezes your thigh as he compliments your work, sending a bolt of electricity from your thigh to your heart. Before you know it his lips are crashing into yours, this kiss far better than the one earlier in the night. The thumping of the blood in your ears drowns out the whoops and hollers from your friends. All you can focus on is Eddie; his soft lips on yours, the softness of his hair beneath your fingers, and the feeling of his hand moving from your thigh to your hip- his free hand also going to your hip, fingers digging in.
When you pull apart for air, he uses his grip on your hips to pull you onto his lap. Now straddling him, you comb your finger through his dark locks with blonde tips. He begged and begged Mrs. Kaspbrak to bleach them and she kept saying no. So finally Richie and Bev bought bleach from the store, and did it themselves. Needless to say she wasn’t happy, but after two doctor's appointments, with two different doctors, she finally concluded that Eddie wasn’t going to randomly fall over and die from the bleach.
Stan slaps a hand over Richie’s mouth to keep him from ruining the moment going on in front of the group. He’ll let Richie make fun of the two afterwards, but he doesn’t want his friends to get this close to finally being together, just to have Richie’s teasing make the both of you chicken out and ignore each other. He’s not sure he can handle all that pining again, the entirety of the losers club isn’t sure they can handle that again. Your hands slide down from Eddie’s hair to his still bare shoulders, pulling him in for another searing kiss.
"Come on Sam, hurry your ass up!" Y/n said half screaming and half whispering at me from the window. I grumbled and moved in my bed.
"Sam, you promised we'd go out tonight!" She whispered. I tossed in my bed before throwing the sheets away from my warm body. I had worn my previous day's clothes to bed, knowing that Y/n would be at my window way too early.
"Quiet down, give me a second," I said pushing my sneakers on and standing up. She stood in front of my window, leaving it open just a bit for her. She danced outside the window and gave me a look of excitement.
I grabbed my cell phone and jumped out of the window. It was more chiller than I anticipated. Y/n dressed in jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a fluffy long sweater. It was cute. She looked warm as she danced and moved in front of me. She hummed with her eye closed barely missing bumps in the sidewalk, or garbage in the street.
"Y/n watch out would ya'" I said running to catch up with her. I have known Y/n since we were little kids that played in the sandbox at school. Basically growing up with each other. Both of us school being smart, and street smart with people.
She was the type of girl that dressed up for homecoming and graduation but at her heart, she was a full-out tomboy. She is beautiful she stops in the road turns and swings to look at me. Her smile only becomes bigger as she remembers that I'm behind her.
Today at school I had promised Y/n during our second period ap class. She had already been begging me for the last week. Texting me during the week.
"Y/n since you're the one who wanted to go out. What are your plans for tonight?" I asked, looking over at her. Without missing a beat, "Yeah, I have an idea. With it being two in the morning, I was thinking we could go to the old arcade place down on western street." She said smiling, with begging eyes behind that smile.
Whatever you want Y/n, you know all you gotta do is ask me and I'll give it to you. What else would I do for you? Anything to see that bright smile in the light of the moon. Anything to be the boy... man that makes you feel like you're at the top of the world.
"We can figure it out, Y/n," I said taking her hand in mine. We usually walked around for a few hours before getting into trouble wherever we would, or we could possibly never be found out about.
We walked down the street, hands together clasped together like she never wanted to let go of me. It was that homey feeling. The feeling of knowing no matter what else is going on outside, or maybe just around our bubble. Nothing is messing with our moments together.
I'd like to think that's why sometimes we don't get caught. That's the best feeling. But regardless of that, let me tell you of the night that I got into some trouble with my dear Y/n.
We had finally made our way to the arcade. No cars parked outside, and all the lights were out. This was the same building that was lit up during the day and always had a full parking lot in front. It was also the place that Dean would take me most of the time when he had a girl or girls over at the house.
I had all the high scores on the speed racing machines, and I knew all the right patterns for getting the most tickets. The number of tickets I'd have by the end of the day was shocking. The times that I'd gone up to the front desks and claimed my prizes were great.
But that was outweighed by the times that with said tickets I had taken soft animals and stupid little items for Y/n. No, we weren't dating, but yes how much I wished I could have her for my own. take care of her like she's supposed to be.
Y/n had become my friend in a science class. Dean had introduced her to a douchebag, which ended up breaking her heart. Since then Y/n has come to me every time a boy has hurt her, but I've never been harsh and rude about the things she tells me I just console her and do what 'friends' are supposed to do.
'Friends' aren't supposed to fall for each other. They aren't supposed to wake up at two in the morning to break into a building just so she can have some midnight fun.
Y/n hasn't dated anyone in a long while, but the fear of her doing so is raw and harsh for me. Afraid that I'll have to pick up the pieces again, repair her and not kill that guy that broke her down yet again. I just wish.
I wish that she be smart enough to see that she has an amazing guy standing right next to her already. There's no need to go searching through the pit of bad guys, or guys that just want her body for sex.
I don't want those things right now... I just want her heart, I want her beautiful mind. To realize that she isn't missing out because I'm already there for her.
Regardless of that, we had arrived at the old arcade building. Y/n pulled a bobby pin from her hair one that was already there in case she needed it. She was much the female version of macgyver.
Lock picking the front door wasn't that hard. But having Y/n over my shoulder only made me feel hot, it was a weird feeling. My body could feel her eyes tracing down my body.
Down my spine, it tingled. Back up to my neck. it was so strange. I wonder if this is how Y/n feels when my gaze gets stuck on her in school, or just when she's walking in front of me.
"Sammy, you brought the quarters right?" She questioned me as I shut the door after letting her walk in first. "Come on Y/n you know I always do," I said, locking the door just in case.
Going to machines first, she grasped m hand and pulled me with her. Her hands were so soft and warm. They were much smaller than mine. But you ever get that feeling where something is just right, I wonder if Y/n feels it too?
"Come on Sammy, please!" She said as I handed her the quarters for the stupidest game they had. Pac man. The game that Y/n had a strong love/hate relationship with. Her love for the design of the game, but her hate for how she could never get past my high score.
"Sammy go play a game before the sun comes up and we have to leave." She said turning her head slightly to glare at me. "No, Y/n I think I'll stay right here," I said with a cock tone.
"Yeah stay here and watch me fail."She said rolling her eyes before going back to the game. She tried four times before giving up and grabbing my hand once again leading me towards the ski ball area.
"Mr. Kay has really kicked up this area," I said looking at the different colored machines and how many he really did have. She looked around a raised eyebrow before opening my hand and taking the necessary number of quarters and starting a game.
Let me remind you we were doing this all in the dark. She giggled as the balls dispensed. She was thought just a second early causing her fingers to get in the way of the balls. "Shit." I turned around
"What? Did you... Are you okay?" I said stumbling across my words. "Yeah I'm fine Sammy, the balls just hit my fingers." She said as I held her hand in my own inspecting her fingers. Before kissing them all individually.
When I looked up she was blushing and smiling. My actions now processing in my head. "I'm so sorry, I didn't... I'm..." "Sammy it's okay, you know if I had a problem with something I'd most definitely tell you." She said patting my cheek gently, before going back to her game.
I felt so hot, so warm, so in love. Is that possible to fall in love with someone just by what they say. Because if so, that's what had just happened.
when Y/n had finished that game. I couldn't help but let my hands roam, they roamed up her back, up her spine, just behind her neck. "Sam? What?" She started to talk.
But I think she might have got lost in my eyes, or maybe in the moment. IOnce her eye met mine, I couldn't help but kiss her, bring her lips closer to me.
Y/n let me guiding her lips towards my own. She plump kissable lips towards me. She at this moment looked so beautiful, so perfect. The sun was starting to come in from the big glass-paned windows. It laid nicely across her face and her body.
Once our lips did finally meet. It felt like magic if that's even possible. Her hands coming up to grasp my face, mine falling down to her hips, pulling her closer to my body.
"Y/n" I breathed out, turning her in my grasp before I gently laid her down onto one of the used ski-ball machines. She moaned into our kiss, but unfortunately, there's a thing call air. And we both so desperately needed it.
We stayed in this position for a moment catching our breath, but not before we could get any further. The light of the building turned on, I was so dazed and stuck in the gaze of Y/n sweet eyes. I didn't hear the click of the old man's shoes against the tile floor.
"Excuse me?" I heard. In the slipt of a second, I was off of Y/n and standing, as if I had just been caught by my father. "I'm so sorry Mt. Kay. We'll be leaving now. I'm so sorry, please don't tell my father." I jumbled out, grabbing Y/n's hand to pull her up.
He took one look at Y/n and me. He smiled and spoke in a rather harsh voice. "I did feel like I had forgotten somethin' last night. You two are fine. I remember sneakin' away with my girl many years ago. And don't fear, Sammy I won't be tellin' anyone." Mr. Kay said waving us off.
I could feel Y/n's heartbeat in her hand. We walked out the front door, the sun beaming just over the peak of the trees. We walked in silence before Y/n spoke, "You know I thought that was going to worse than it did." She said, our hands still clasped together.
Her hair a wreck since I had run my hand through it while making out with her. "We finally got caught," I said, looking forward. The number of mixed emotions going on in my body right now was confusing the hell out of me.
"Sam?" She said. "Sam, what's going in your mind? I can see the steam pouring out of your ears." She said trying to make me laugh. "Sam please talk to me?" She said tugging on my hand.
"Y/n... I'm sorry." Her eyebrows bent inward. "What? You've.. Huh?" She said stopping in her spot. " I'm sorry that I just kiss you like that, and that we got caught."
She just smiled and rolled her eyes. "Stop apologizing, I liked you kissing me." She said stepping closer to me, a most likely dumbfounded expression. "Close your lips, and kiss me again Sammy." She said leaning in closer.
I hadn't thought that Y/n also was fallin' in love with me. Stupid teenager's minds. Getting caught, but loving the trouble we caused. "I think Sammy.. I think I love you. I think I've loved you for a long time now." Y/n said. I smiled and hummed in agreement.
Tropical Vacation pt. 5
Hey hi hello! I'm back at it again with another chapter! I'm scheduling this one to post so I don't forget. I really really liked this one, I put two of my favorite ships In here because of course I did. Kuzuhina and Komanami honestly make my gay heart happy. <3
Characters In this part: Lee!Hajime, Ler!Fuyuhiko, Chiaki, Nagito, Chihiro
Word count: 2,177
Part 1: [Click or tap here!] Part 2: [Click or tap here!] Part 3: [Click or tap here!] Part 4: [Click or tap here!] Part 5: You are here.
After the sun went down, Chihiro found that they couldn’t sleep, so they decided to sneak out of their room to go get something to drink. They took a detour down the stairs after they heard some soft murmuring coming from the lobby.
Upon investigating they found Chiaki playing video games while Nagito watched, chatting to her all the while. As they stepped closer to see what the game was, the floorboards creaked, Nagito and Chiaki’s attention snapped over to The Programmer who blushed in embarrassment for having interrupted them.
“I-I’m sorry! I was just on my way to get something to drink and… I was just curious what you were playing.” they sheepishly explained, looking down at the floor.
Chiaki smiled. “It’s okay,” she said softly, glancing back at the arcade machine. “I’m not sure what the game Is called, The letters are too faded for me to make out. You can come look If you want.”
“Ah! N-No I’ve distracted you enough, I don’t want to be In your way or anything.”
“Really, It’s okay.” She reassured them. “Come join us, Nagito doesn’t bite. If he says something that weirds you out, I’ll handle him.”
Nagito glanced at her nervously before looking at Chihiro. “Chiaki doesn’t bite either… She just tickles.” He smiled in exasperation.
Chihiro hesitated for a moment longer before approaching the two sitting on the bench.
It was a custom bench that Kazuichi made for her and Nagito. He made it after constantly seeing Chiaki sitting playing the game while Nagito either stood next to her or sat on the edge of the machine out of her way and watched. The two had become nearly inseparable over the last month, No one understood why. Chiaki never gave a straight answer when asked, always coming up with a joking answer to their question.
She scooted over, her leg pressing up against Nagito’s as she patted the seat next to her. He put his arm behind her back, his hand resting against the edge of the bench on the other side of her.
Chihiro sat down, studying the machine curiously. “What Is it like?”
“There’s a couple of games programmed into it, But this one is like Pac-man, with Monokuma’s head instead of Pacman. And the ghosts are different colored Usami’s.” Chiaki explained, hitting the start button on it.
The blue lights lit up the dim room and soft 8 bit sounds filled the quiet space, Chihiro smiled as they watched the game enthusiastically. It’s been so long since they’ve seen a video game.
After a few minutes Chiaki paused and turned to Chihiro. “Do you want to play?”
“Wh-What? No, I couldn’t. You’re playing, I don’t want to take over.”
“It’s no problem, It might be nice to watch someone else play for once.” she smiled, to get out of Chihiro’s way, she crawled up into Nagito’s lap, startling him. Apparently he had been zoning out.
“Are you sure…?”
“Mhm. Just hit that button to start.” She replied, pointing to the bright blue button.
Chihiro scooted over so that they were directly in front of the screen now, and hit the button to start. Instantly they were flooded with nostalgia as they remembered all those times they went to the arcade with friends.
They were pretty decent at the game too, once they figured out the A.I’s algorithm they were even able to get a high score.
“Wow, You beat one of my scores.” Chiaki remarked, surprised. Albeit pleasantly so.
“Ah! I-I’m sorry! You probably spent really long trying to fill up the leaderboard!”
“No, No, you’re okay. Really. It’s only a couple of numbers.” She reassured with a gentle smile. “I’m just glad you’re having fun… You really do apologize a lot, Don’t you?”
“I-I’m sorry.” Chihiro blushed. “W-Wait, No. I just… I guess I do apologize a lot… I’m sorr--”
Chiaki poked their side, causing them to squeak and stop mid apology. “That’s exactly my point. You don’t have to apologize so much… You’re okay.”
“Still, It’s impressive how quickly you were able to catch on to the A.I’s patterns and use It against It.” Nagito commented with a smile. “I guess that’s why you’re the Ultimate Programmer! You’re able to spot those things pretty easily I would imagine.”
Chihiro smiled sheepishly at the praise. “Yeah, I’m used to analyzing any kind of coding I can find. I like to deconstruct the coding and see how It works.”
“Kind of like Kazuichi when he finds something well built.” Chiaki replied, nodding In understanding.
“I’m glad there’s someone else here that understands these video games and how they work, I’m pretty useless when It comes to them.”
Chiaki narrowed her eyes as she turned to look at Nagito. “You aren’t useless.”
“Ah! Nonono- I didn’t mean It like that! I just meant I’m not good at games!” He quickly put his hands up in defense.
“I’ve got my eyes on you…” Chiaki mumbled, slowly looking away from him.
Chihiro giggled at the two, blushing and squeaking when they realized that they had giggled out loud and Chiaki and Nagito were now looking at them. “I-I’m sorry! I just-- eep!”
They yelped as Chiaki squeezed their side. “Stop apologizing, I mean It. If you apologize one more time, I’ll give you the same treatment I give him when he talks badly about himself.” She warned playfully.
“O-Okay, S-Sor…” They stopped themselves.
Chiaki climbed out of Nagito’s lap as he went to stand up and stretch. “Hey, You wanna try a multiplayer game?” She asked, Chihiro nodded eagerly and the two began to play a new game.
Nagito curled up on the couch, watching his girlfriend happily playing with her new friend. He smiled to himself as he whispered. “It’s moments like these that give me the most hope, watching you be happy Is the best hope of all.”
“Huh? Did you hear something?” Chihiro asked.
Chiaki shrugged. “Must’ve been the game…” though she glanced over her shoulder at Nagito and smiled at him, seemingly she heard him.
Later on In the night Fuyuhiko jolted awake as he heard his doorbell ring, that uneasy feeling was returning to him as he slowly approached the door. Upon checking his e-handbook he discovered It was two In the morning. He jumped when whoever was at his door knocked.
“You’re a yakuza for fucks sake.” He muttered to himself. “Stop being such a little bitch.”
He swung the door open quickly, immediately relaxing upon seeing It was just Hajime. “Oh… It’s just you…” He sighed softly, stepping aside to let him in.
“Sorry Hiko, I know It’s really late… But I couldn’t get to sleep.” Hajime apologized as he came Inside and shut and locked the door behind him.
“Yeah, I can’t really sleep either. I just dozed off for a couple of minutes.” He replied, setting down on the foot of his bed.
Hajime came over and sat down next to him. “You still worried about the students too?” He asked quietly, Fuyuhiko nodded silently.
Hajime smiled a little, putting his hand on top of his. “Yeah me too.” He said. “But for what it’s worth, I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Hiko blushed, though he would vehemently deny such a thing. “H-Hey, I’m not a damn kid! I don’t need to be protected!”
The depressed student put his arm around the Yakuza’s shoulders and pulled him into his side in an affectionate half hug. “Fuyu, There Is nothing you can do that’ll convince me not to protect you.”
Fuyuhiko smirked slyly as he rested his head on the taller man’s shoulder. “Nothing, huh?”
“Nope, Sorry.”
Hajime closed his eyes, finally feeling himself relax a bit now that he was with Hiko. He'd had some horrible dreams of Fuyuhiko getting hurt or… worse.
However as usual, his relaxed state didn’t last long before It was ruined. The feeling of fingers ghosting against his sides under his shirt made him jolt back to reality with a string of tired giggles. “Hehehehiko Ehehehehehe… w-what ahahare you doing?”
“What’s It look like, Dumbass? I’m tickling you.” He retorted, amused.
Hajime continued to giggle as he squirmed, gently pushing at the Yakuza. “I cahahahan seehehehehe that, but whyhyhy?”
Fuyuhiko began to tickle Hajime’s belly, causing his giggling to quickly turn into laughter. “I’m showing you I can protect myself.”
“Byhyhyhy tickling mehehehe?! Ahahahaha!” He laughed, doubling over to try to block his stomach.
“If I can take you down, Imagine what I could do to someone else.” He grinned cheekily, tweaking his hips.
“GAHA! Ahahahahahahaha! Thahahahahat doesn’t prohohove anything! Ihihihi’m eheheheasy to tahahake down!” Hajime complained, falling backwards on the bed.
Fuyu was quick to settle himself on the brunette’s hips, his fingers nimbly dancing all across his sides. “Then how are you gonna protect me?? You should just let me protect you.”
“FUHUHUHUYU! NAHAHAT THE SIHIHIHIDES!” He yelped as he switched tactics to squeeze at the sensitive spot. “AHAHAHAHAHAA! STAHAHAAP!”
“Then stop all that crap about protecting me,” Fuyuhiko rolled his eyes.
“NOHOHOHO!”
Well, mistakes were made.
“No?? No!?” Hiko repeated as he leaned down, blowing a raspberry against his side. “What do you mean, No!?”
Hajime screamed, his laughter going up an octave as he arched his back from the sensation. “GAHAHAHAHAHAHA! NAHAHAT THAHAHAAT! PLEHEHEHEASE!”
“I’m a Yakuza, I can protect my damn self!” He reminded him with another raspberry to his side. “Just cut that crap out, It bothers me.”
“WHYHYHYHYHY DOES IT BOHOHOHOTHER YOU??”
“Because when you say that It makes me think that--” Fuyuhiko stopped, his fingers resting on Hajime’s side as he suddenly grew silent.
Hajime giggled tiredly as he recovered from the tickle attack, he looked up at Hiko with a questioning look. “I-It makes you think what?”
He shook his head slightly, looking away from the taller man’s gaze.
The trapped Ultimate reached his hands up, gently cupping the Yakuza’s face as he turned his face back to look at him. “What does It make you think?” he repeated softly.
“It makes me think that something Is going to happen… to you…” He said quietly, reaching his hands up to rest against his.
Hajime frowned as Fuyu pulled out of his gentle hold and got off of him, opting to sit next to him instead. “Hiko, nothing Is gonna happen.”
“Then why would you say that?” The blond asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“Because… I had horrible nightmares about something happening to you, and It makes me feel better to say that. It makes me feel like I have some kind of control over this.” He explained, sitting up.
Fuyuhiko’s face softened as he looked Into Hajime’s eyes. “Is that why you came over…?”
“Yeah.” He sighed, pulling him into his lap. “I had to see with my own eyes that you were okay.”
Hiko frowned as he wrapped his arms around Hajime, resting his head against his chest. “I couldn’t sleep because I was scared as soon as I did I would be woken up to the body discovery announcement…”
Hajime pecked a kiss to the top of his head, silent. He wasn’t sure how to make this situation better for either of them, the fact of the matter is that they’re never safe. Monokuma is always throwing out motives to try to tempt the students into killing, and there’s always that fear in the back of his mind that someone might fall for it one day.
“Hajime? Can you…” He trailed off, stopping his train of thought.
“What?”
“N-Nothing. Nevermind.”
“Hiko…? What Is It?”
“Forget I said anything.”
Hajime frowned, reaching his hand up the Yakuza’s sleeping shirt and brushing his fingers against his side. “Tell me, Or I’ll tickle you.” He gave an ultimatum.
Fuyu flinched at the gentle touch, his body shivering. “Fucking hell,” He muttered under his breath. “F-Fine! I was going to ask you If you’d stay with me tonight.”
Fuyuhiko blushed bright pink as he buried his face in Hajime’s chest without waiting for a response.
“Fuyu…”
“That’s why I told you to forget I said anything. Because It’s stupid.” He mumbled.
Hajime smiled warmly as he soothingly ran his fingers up and down the smaller man’s back. “It’s not stupid.” He said softly. “Yeah, I’ll stay the night with you.”
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to…”
“Hey, Look at me.” Hajime gently pulled the blond back to look in his eyes. “There’s no place I’d rather be than with you. Besides, I might actually get some sleep If I know you’re safe.”
Fuyuhiko blushed even more as he smiled. “Yeah, Me too.”
Hajime leaned in and planted a soft kiss to his forehead, stroking his cheekbone with his thumb. “You’re so cute, especially when you smile.” he teased lightly.
The blond narrowed his eyes as his neck turned pink from embarrassment.
“Hiko? H-Hey… Wait! DOHOHON’T! AHAHAHAHA!”
Welp, It was worth It to harass his boyfriend. At least Hajime didn’t mind being tickled, At least not by Fuyuhiko.
Oikawa x reader ch. 7
Longer chapter today, sorry! I just couldn’t stop writing this scene 😫
“Y/n, come on!” Kindaichi jabbed me in the side.
“Ow!” I said, punching him. “I don’t want to go!”
“But it’s tradition,” Hanamaki said, coming up on my other side.
I groaned. The idea of going to a mall arcade with 12 teenage boys and me as the only female might have been appealing to some girls, but not to me. When Kindaichi had asked if I was going yesterday after the practice game, I had almost immediately said no. But apparently, it was Seijoh’s tradition to go out and celebrate after every practice game we won.
“Come on Iwa, tell her!”
I glanced up to see Oikawa and Iwaizumi approaching, Oikawa’s knee was in a brace, but he wasn’t limping as badly as yesterday. The doctors had apparently given him a good amount of pain medication, but I hoped he wasn’t pushing himself too hard. I knew that despite my words yesterday, he still was disappointed in himself for not finishing up the game, but that wasn’t an excuse to keep hurting himself.
“Tell her what?” Oikawa stopped in front of us, a hand on his hip.
Yahaba smacked me across the head lightly as he spoke. “We’re trying to get her to come to the arcade with us.”
I rubbed my head, glaring. “And I told you, I have no interest in spending the afternoon with losers like the Aoba Johsai volleyball club.” I grinned wickedly, and Oikawa placed an offended hand on his chest.
“Who else would you spend the afternoon with? Karasuno?”
I rolled my eyes, but I was suddenly getting accusatory glares from all the boys.
In truth, I actually had been planning on hanging out with Karasuno, but there was no way I was admitting that. “How long are we going to be out?” I asked in a resigned tone.
“A few hours, usually.” Iwaizumi said with a pitying look. “We usually go at 12--”
“You can ride with me!” Oikawa interrupted, throwing an arm around me. I shrugged him off and raised my eyebrows.
“Iwa literally lives down the block from me, so I can just ride with him. You’d just be going out of your way.” I glanced at Iwaizumi. “If that’s ok?”
The ace nodded, his eyes shifting to Oikawa who looked a little put out.
“You’re so mean, Y/n-chan! You never want to spend time with me!” Oikawa complained.
I grinned and poked him in the shoulder. “Maybe it’s because you’re such a baby.”
That night, I called Kiyoko. I felt like I hadn’t seen her in ages, even though it had only been a week. I told her that I would have to come to the Karasuno sleepover a bit later than I expected, but I would still make it. Hopefully two teams in one day wouldn’t be too much for my poor mental state to handle.
I wanted to tell Kiyoko everything about Oikawa and the team, how I finally felt like I belonged at Aoba Johsai, but at the same time, I felt like a traitor. It was stupid and irrational, especially since she had been the one to tell me to become Seijoh’s manager, but we were no longer directly involved in each others day to lives. It made me upset, but I vowed that I would have her meet my new team as soon as possible.
The next day, Iwaizumi pulled up in front of my house in his huge black pickup truck at exactly 12. My mom, reading through paperwork at her desk by the front window, stared at the intimidating vehicle in mild confusion or disgust, but I thought it was hilarious.
I snatched my purse from the kitchen table, stuffing my phone in my pocket, and then I ran out the door to meet Iwa. As I jogged up the passenger seat, I blinked in surprise to see Oikawa already seated there.
As I crawled into the backseat, I asked, “What are you doing here?”
“I slept over at Iwa-chan’s house. Is that a crime?”
“Nope. You just stole my seat.”
He reclined his seat all the way back until it was resting on my lap, and I could barely move. “Oikawa!”
He grinned up at me, poking my cheek. “You’re so cute, Y/n-chan!”
I rolled my eyes and stuck out my tongue. “Will you get up?”
“Honestly, I’m pretty comfortable here.”
“Ughhhh.”
Iwaizumi gave me an “I’m so sorry” look, and punched Oikawa. “Get your ass off her, Shittykawa.”
The two argued the whole way to the arcade, which was around a fifteen minute drive, and Iwaizumi almost hit Kunimi pulling into the parking lot because he was too busy trashing Oikawa.
The rest of the team was already waiting by the entrance of the mall by the time we all walked up, and they greeted me with just as much excitement as the two boys. I got swept into a tide of Watari, Matsuwaka, and Kindaichi, who literally dragged me through the glass doors of the mall and towards the arcade. I could hear pounding music and flashing lights coming from within, and I sighed, resigning myself to a long day.
The arcade was huge, way bigger than I expected. Every arcade game I could have imagined was there, ranging from the Jurassic park shooting games, to classic pac man, to car racing, each one flashing dizzyingly in the darkness.
“Usually we play to see who can get the most tickets,” Kindaichi practically yelled over the music. I nodded to signal that I understood, and followed them through a maze of games to the race car driving. There were exactly four seats, and it didn’t take long for us to get into a violent competition of racing.
I ended up winning three out of the four games we played, boasting a huge handful of tickets by the end. The three boys were shocked, but I had Tanaka and Nishinoya to blame. Over the course of two years, I had probably played the game at least a thousand times with them, giving me quite the edge.
My eyes were burning from staring at the screen for so long, so I quickly excused myself to go to the bathroom. Almost instantly, I was lost in the maze of games and darkness, completely turned around by the dozens of blinking screens.
“Are you lost?” An unfamiliar voice asked from behind me, and I turned. A tall guy with dyed blonde hair and dark undercut and earrings looked down at me, smirking. He wore a white t-shirt and black sweats.
“Oh, uh...yeah I am actually. Do you know where there’s a bathroom--”
“What’s your name? You’re pretty cute.”
As the guy spoke, I noticed he had a tongue piercing.
“Um-”
“There you are Y/n.” I felt relief pierce me like a knife as I turned to see Oikawa and Iwaizumi prowling towards me, both of their eyes spelling out literal death for the guy still standing behind me, a little too close.
“Is this guy bothering you?” Iwaizumi looked down at me, face blank.
Oikawa wasn’t as subtle. His arm slid around my waist, tugging me into the protective shelter of his side. He had a truly terrifying smile on his face as he glared at the blonde guy, daring him to say something.
“It’s ok. He was just leaving.” I tried to say, but Oikawa was suddenly leaning forward, a look of delight crossing his face.
“Wait a minute...You’re Terushima Yūji, captain of Johzenji high volleyball club, aren’t you?
I blinked, looking back at the guy. Captain of Johzenji volleyball club? Karasuno had played Johzenji a few times in the past, and as I stared at the guy in front of me, I felt a vague sense of recognition.
Terushima smirked, not looking very intimidated by Oikawa or Iwaizumi. “Wow, I guess I must be popular. And wait, let me guess...hurt knee, annoying attitude--you must be Oikawa Toru from Aoba Johsai.”
Before Oikawa could respond, Terushima’s gaze was moving back to me. “But the better question is, who is she? She’s very…” His eyes trailed slowly down my body, and he smirked wider.
I felt Oikawa tense up so hard, I was sure he was trying to hold himself back. I turned to look at him, my hand wrapping around his shirt. “Oikawa,” I whispered, tugging. “It’s fine, seriously.”
Iwaizumi was who I didn’t count on. The wing spiker shoved Terushima so hard, the other boy almost fell on his ass. “Get the fuck out of here, you disgusting piece of shit. If you ever talk to her like that again, I will personally beat the fuck out of you.”
I had never heard Iwa so angry. Terushima glared, but he seemed to realize that Iwa and Oikawa were ready to fight, and he was outnumbered. Instead, he grinned and flipped Iwaizumi off.
“I look forward to seeing you all at the next game.” He winked at me before turning and sauntering away.
It took almost a full five minutes for Oikawa to relax and let go of me. I tried to tell both him and Iwa that I was totally fine, that Terushima hadn’t even done anything that bad, but they continued to look murderous. I was almost afraid that they would go after the captain of Johzenji the second I let them out of my sight, so instead I tried to distract them.
“Oikawa, hey! It’s fine! We’re at an arcade, so can we please play some games?”
They finally agreed, and we all set up in front of one of the zombie shooting games. I usually wasn’t particularly good at them, and this time was no exception. Iwaizumi ended up getting the most points, Oikawa close behind him, but I barely even killed two zombies. My failure seemed to cheer up Oikawa, who went back to his typical annoying self, poking fun at me as usual.
“You’re terrible at this, Y/n-chan!” He mocked, putting down his gun. Iwaizumi put in a few coins to start up another round, and Oikawa moved behind me, arms wrapping around my shoulders, my back suddenly flat against his chest. His hands were almost twice the size of my own as they guided me to the proper position to hold the plastic gun.
“Wha--” I stuttered, brain short circuiting at the setter’s sudden proximity.
“You hold it here, and move around like this,” he said in my ear, breath washing across my neck. I felt like my face was on fire, and I was sure that if anyone saw me, they’d think I was a tomato who had come to life and started speaking.
A zombie jumped out, and Oikawa’s arms tensed around me as he fired the fake gun at the screen. I could barely focus, far too aware of his chin hovering just over my shoulder, his arms around my torso, and his hands tight on mine. I felt like I could melt right there.
The game was one of the longest five minutes of my life, but also ended far too soon. Before I knew it, Iwazumi was slamming down his gun in defeat and turning to Oikawa. I felt the heat of Seijoh’s captain pull away as he dropped his arms and stepped back, and I let out a breath that I didn’t even know I was holding.
I turned around, heart still racing, but Oikawa was already moving towards another game. It didn’t mean anything. I had to remember that.
I stood in front of the claw machine, arms crossed and pouting. I had already wasted half my coins on the stupid thing, trying to get a sweet blue whale stuffed animal that rested in the corner of the box, but it looked like it was impossible.
“You still didn’t get it?” Iwa asked from the air hockey table, where he played viciously against Kunimi.
I glared at him. “No need to sound so condescending!”
“Move, I’ll get it for you.” Oikawa came up and shoved me out of the way, and I made a noise of indignation.
“You don’t have to--”
But he was already shoving coins into the slot, smirking at me. “Watch the master, new girl.”
I sighed, rolling my eyes. But as I watched Oikawa manipulate the level, I practically leapt out of my skin from excitement. Hands against the glass, I simultaneously watched the claw as it moved across the box, positioning over the whale, and also Oikawa’s concentrated face. I had only ever seen him get this serious during a volleyball game.
The claw descended, wrapping around the whale with a precarious grip on its tail. My eyes were wide as it got closer, closer, and--
The whale dropped into the box, and Oikawa handed it to me, a proud and smug smile on his face. I let out a cry of delight, abandoning any pretense as I flung my arms around his neck. I couldn’t see his face, but he hugged me back tightly.
“Thank you so much Oikawa, I love it,” I said, pulling away.
He grinned.. “I have one condition: you have to name him after me.”
“What?! How do you know it’s a boy?”
He crossed his arms, raising his eyebrows.
“Fine, Tooru the whale it is.” I hugged the stuffy tightly, not noticing Oikawa’s cheeks get red in the darkness of the arcade.
“Wait one sec.” The setter whipped out his phone and held it up, and I had just enough time to hold up my stuffed animal and smile widely before the camera flashed and the picture was taken.
“You’re so cute, Chibi-chan!” Oikawa said, holding out the phone. In the photo, I smiled widely and happily, Oikawa’s head resting against mine as he held up a peace sign. Of course, Oikawa looked far better than me, but there was no use complaining about that.
“Wanna play the dance battle game?” I asked, noticing it as we walked back towards where the rest of the team was.
Seijoh’s setter looked down at me. “Are you ready to be destroyed?”
“Ha! As if.”
“I guess we’ll have to see then.”
I laughed, setting down Tooru the whale and my purse off to the side. “What song do you want?”
I didn’t know many of the options, so Oikawa picked Five More Hours by Deorro and Chris Brown, an American dance song.
The arrows began to flash on the screen, and Oikawa and I both furiously began to jump on the arrows, probably looking ridiculous. The song was fast paced and I was completely out of breath from laughing. By the end, I abandoned all attempts of getting the right arrows, and just danced around to the beat of the music, watching Oikawa crush the game. How was he so good looking while dancing to such a ridiculous song?
“Wow Oikawa, I think you should look into becoming a professional dancer!” Hanamaki yelled, standing a few feet away with his phone out, filming us, the rest of the team behind him. I almost immediately became embarrassed, but Oikawa clearly revelled in the attention.
He flipped off Hanamaki before turning to me with a wide smile. Before I could stop him, he grabbed me around the waist, holding one of my hands up so we were dancing together, abandoning the game completely.
I laughed in delight as the beat dropped and we both started jumping around crazily like idiots. Oikawa still held my hands, but my overwhelming happiness pushed the embarrassment aside.
When the song finally ended, I collapsed in a fit of giggles. Oikawa was laughing and panting, leaning against the railing for support, while the rest of the team clapped and whooped. I stepped off the raised floor of the game, stumbling over to the rest of the team where they slapped me on the back. I cringed; their slaps were unbelievably hard from volleyball.
“Hanamaki, send me that video,” Oikawa said, joining us over by the basketball game.
“I’m hungryyyy,” Kunimi complained.
Iwaizumi crossed his arms. “Me too. Want to go to the food court?”
“I’ll join guys,” Watari said, and Kindaichi, Kunimi, and Kyōtani nodded, all of them agreeing that they were ready for food. Yuda, Sawauchi, and Shido all wanted to play another round of motorcycle racing, so I was left alone again with Oikawa.
Neither of us were hungry, so instead we headed to the photobooth which sat by the door of the arcade. I didn’t really like getting my picture taken, since I always seemed to look awkward and terrible, but Oikawa insisted.
“As our new manager, you need a picture with your captain, obviously.”
I gave him a look. “Do you just have a wall of photo booth pictures with all the managers of Aoba Johsai over the years?”
Oikawa smirked, tapping me on the nose. “Nope, you’re the first one.”
“I’m honored.”
The booth was very small, and Oikawa’s legs were scrunched up as we squeezed next to each other on the bench. I tried to ignore the fact that we were completely wedged next to each other, with me practically in his lap.
He clicked the screen, and a countdown started, and I stuck out my tongue. The second picture we both smiled widely, and the third we made weird faces at the camera.
In the fourth and final picture, I turned to Oikawa and kissed him on the cheek.
It was completely random, a spontaneous burst of courage, and before I could really think about it, the camera had clicked and the picture was taken.
We climbed out of the booth, my face hot. Oikawa scooped up the two printed sheets of photos, handing one to me. He looked completely delighted as he stared down at them, which only made me blush more. Just friends.
“What time is it?” I murmured aloud, realizing I hadn’t checked my phone in a while. Tugging it from my bag, I choked. It was already 4:15, and Kiyoko, Daichi, and Tanaka had called me a total of 11 times.
I quickly clicked Kiyoko’s name, turning from Oikawa without an explanation. “Hey Kiyoko! I’m so sorry, I lost track of time. I’m about to leave the arcade and get an Uber, so I’ll probably be there in like twenty minutes.”
“It’s totally fine, we were just worried about if you had died or something.” Kiyoko said, a smile in her voice.
I heard Tanaka in the background of the call. “Is that Y/n? Tell her to get the fuck over here!”
“Ok, I’ll see you soon!” I said, and clicked end on the call.
“You have to leave?” Oikawa asked. Was I imagining that he looked a little put out?
“Yeah, I’m going to run and catch an Uber,” I said, pulling the app up on my phone.
“I’ll walk you out.”
“It’s fine--”
He flicked me on the shoulder. “Let’s go.”
The sun was starting to set and a purple sheen passing over the sky, but the mall was still busy, late night shoppers just beginning their trips. I carried my stuffed animal in one arm, my purse in the other, the photobooth picture stuffed into one of the pockets for safe keeping.
We stopped at the curb, and I turned to Oikawa. “Thank you for today. I actually had a lot of fun.”
“Aw, Y/n-chan, no need to thank me. We should do it again sometime.”
“After we win the next practice game?”
“Well--”
At that moment, the Uber pulled up next to us, and I stepped off the curb towards it.
“Talk more later ok? I’ll see you Tuesday, Oikawa!” I smiled brightly and waved before stepping into the car.
“Parker, come on,” Jae called out. Parker, who was staring at a mini bonsai tree kit, turned to Jae with a pout.
“You’re no fun. I want to look around,” Parker glared, making her way over to Jae and Younghyun.
“You already have so many of those. Why do you have to keep buying them? They’re useless,” Jae rolled his eyes, hands on hips.
“I think they’re useful,” Younghyun said, placing a hand on Parker’s shoulder.
“Thank you,” Parker nodded at the bassist. “And you won’t be saying that when you’re in need of a mini mic for impromptu karaoke,” she said, whipping out said mic from her canvas tote bag.
Jae’s jaw dropped and Younghyun laughed. Parker smugly swung the wire, the tiny mic going around in circles.
“Remind me again why we let her join the group,” Jae huffed, throwing his head back.
“Hey, y’all asked me to join. Pillie could have easily played both the keyboard and synthesizer,” Parker wagged a finger at him. “Now I’m under contract, so unless I violate a major rule, you’re stuck with me.” She placed the mic back in her bag then walked away, nose turned up.
Parker moved deeper into Newbury Comics. They were currently walking through a mall in New York while they had a day off on their tour. Parker had squeezed her way in between Jae and Younghyun and followed them around the city.
“Even if you did try to leave, we’d never let you,” Younghyun said, chuckling. He walked up to her, linking their arms, effectively slowing her down.
Parker looked up at him, sending him a big grin. “Good answer!” She held a thumbs up and laughed as she heard Jae grumble behind them. She continued through the store looking at all the vinyls, posters, Funko Pops, and her favorites; the trinkets.
“See? She’s going to buy more,” Jae pointed to Parker’s shopping basket that now had a Jack Skellington Funko, the mini bonsai tree kit, a 3-D coloring pad with glasses, and a micro Pac-man video game machine.
“Jae, be happy that she spends her money on this and not drugs,” Younghyun said, smiling.
Parker nodded her head at the comment as she picked up an ice cream door stopper. She looked at it for a second, but thought better of it and placed it back.
“What? You don’t need a melted ice cream cone to stop your door from closing?” Jae snarked, folding his arms.
Parker looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Why the hell would I need that? I already have my squashed Jae door stopper,” she sniffed then turned away. It was actually a squashed man door stopper, but Parker had opted to name him after the older.
Jae’s eyes widened as he looked at the maknae, his arms dropping to his sides. Younghyun snorted, then cleared his throat looking away when Jae glared at him.
“Hey, Soo? What about this?” The bassist quickly motioned at the mini Bob Ross painting kit.
“Ooh,” Parker scurried over to take a look. She pouted once she saw it though. “I already have this one.” She put it back and looked at the other kits on display.
“Dowoon and Wonpil appreciate my love for these, even Sungjin. Why can’t you?” Parker asked Jae without even looking at him. She moved over to where there were a lot of k-pop albums on display, curious to see what they had.
“They’re the ones who started this!” Jae huffed, “If Dowoon hadn’t given you that mini Uno card deck and 3 inch turntable, you wouldn’t have found this stupid world.”
Parker whipped around, glaring at him. “With all due respect, Oppa, I happen to love these and I’d appreciate it if you’d keep your opinions to yourself,” she spoke through her teeth, then turned back around, squatting in front of the Day6 albums.
Jae looked at Younghyun, mouth slightly agape. Younghyun winced, shrugging his shoulder. “You kinda poked the bear.”
The taller chewed his lip, knowing that he had a tendency of taking his teasing a bit too far. He looked at Parker who seemed to be taking deep breaths to calm herself. It was a known fact within the group that even though Parker joked around a lot, she could also lose her patience very easily.
He walked over to her, crouching down next to her. Picking up a copy of Moonrise said, “I’m sorry Parker.” When she didn’t answer, he nudged her shoulder gently.
“Is it really stupid?” The whispered question caught Jae off guard. He looked down at the keyboardist, watching as she slightly pouted while looking at the copy of Shoot Me in her hand.
“No, of course not. I swear I was just being annoying when I said that. You know I still struggle with knowing where the line is and not crossing it,” he said, watching out of the corner of his eye as she looked at him.
Parker knew it was stupid to be upset over this, but she couldn’t help it. Jae always poked fun at her hobbies. Either she was a granny for watching documentaries or a immature child for liking trinkets. And even though she could tell when he was just trying to get under her skin, she sometimes took it personal.
“You know that I take my role of ‘Annoying Older Brother’ very seriously and sometimes too far. So I’m sorry. I’ll try to limit myself,” Jae said, fully looking at her.
Parker turned to him, cheek resting on her knees. “It’s okay. I know I can be a handful at times. Sorry,” she said sheepishly.
“No, stop. In all honesty, I just think that we’re too alike, so we clash sometimes. No big deal,” Jae shrugged and Parker smiled.
“Yeah, maybe,” she answered. Parker put the album in her basket. She liked buying their own albums when she went out. At first it was because she was proud of their hard work, but then when she only ever got Jae and Wonpil photocards, she started buying them in hopes that she’d get another one of the members. Or herself. (Her own photocard would be nice.)
“Trying your luck again?” Jae asked, chuckling.
“I’ll scream,” Parker grumbled then got up. “Where’s Oppa?” the Aussie looked around. Jae looked around with her then pointed to a display in the middle of the store.
“Again with the Baby Yoda,” Parker said, rolling her eyes as Jae laughed.
Totally Rad | p.s.h
Warnings: Bullying, near sexual harassment, violence, swearing, domestic violence, anxiety, lots of crying, if you have an issue with any of these please don’t read this isn’t the right book for you.
Summary: It’s 1985 and arcades are the perfect place to meet your soulmate.
A/N: This took like 2 months and it’s like 12,000 words please don’t let this flop. Sorry for spelling errors I proofread as much as I could handle.
The wind blows harshly as I make my way to the small arcade around the corner. It's a chilly October morning in 1985 and my thin sweater isn't doing enough to keep the wind out. I watch as the cars pass me by, all looking ahead ready to get to their desired destinations. They barely turned an eye toward a freezing kid on the side of the road, nobody trusted each other anymore. The small arcade came into view and I saw the doors filled with flyers and posters for new games that came in, as well as a small logo dead center.
'Pips Arcade'
The perfect job for a senior in high school. It was easy to work around here but I'd rather do this than scoop ice cream for the annoying kids down at the mall or be an assistant in a small news office. They treat women like slaves over there, my friend Betty told me so. She can't get a better job so she's currently stuck there.
"Y/N! You made it!" Maria, a small 15 year old girl stood behind the counter giving some kid their coins before telling them to have fun. She was always optimistic when it came to working, especially with the kids that came in.
"I'm five minutes early." She acted like I wasn't coming at all. Sometimes people really did leave her there and she called me at home to take her shift because she couldn't be out late. It wasn't her fault she was paranoid but it irked me just a tad to think that she thought I wasn't coming.
"I know. You're always early." She signed off on the slip of paper and I signed in before setting my things in the back room.
"Have a good night, Maria." The gave her a wide smile before shooing her away.
"Hey, my family is having a bonfire to burn all of our junk. Do you want to come. My parents would really like to meet you!" She held the door open for some more kids before turning back to me.
"I'll think about it." My response was short but I didn't hurt her feelings. I didn't plan on going but there was no reason to tell her that. Knowing her she'll invite five more people before hearing an official response from me. She's always been the type to make friends no matter who they were. It was kind of a gift if I was being honest.
"Bye!" She waved and let the door shut on it's own a small drift catching it's way in causing me to shiver behind the counter. It was really time to invest in a coat but with the stress of trying to buy a car and help my parents stay afloat it really wasn't the time to be selfish.
My family. An easy way to explain them would be dysfunctional, abusive, selfish. My older brother had left when he got the chance, but not before sticking it to my dad. I got beat for that one. We occasionally talk but its usually on holidays or if I can get access to a phone. Sometimes if the arcade is slow I borrow Pips landline and call my brother, he seldom answers. I look around at the kids and wonder why they get it so good, how a 10 year old can get two dollars from their mom or dad to get coins at the arcade. If I found money as a kid it was going straight to my parents no questions asked, the scar on my right hip reminds me of that.
"Excuse me miss?" I was pulled from my thoughts as a small kid walked up to the counter, "May I have some more coins please?" He put a dollar on the counter and I took it with a smile, handing him six coins back. Pip likes to be real generous so instead of the regular four coins he has us give them six, hes nice like that.
"Have fun." He laughed and ran away to give some to his friend. Sometimes I envy that. The look he gets when he has someone to talk to, someone to share with. I never had enough to share anything. I was about to go back into my thoughts when the bell in the door rang I turned to say a greeting and I stopped when I saw four teens walk through the door. They were jocks and anyone with a pair of eyes could see that, their varsity jackets clinging to their arms like a medal.
"Hello." I got over my shock and said a mandatory greeting, Pip likes us to be formal.
"Hi!" One of them shooed the others away and walked towards me. The closer he got the more intimidated and fidgety I became. At school jocks were known for unnecessary violence and bullying, I was always a target.
"W-what can can I get for you?" I felt my eyes slightly widen at my stutter it hadn't come out in years yet here it was crawling back up my throat. It was something I learned to control a while ago, my father insisting I not speak until I dealt with it. The boy looked at me and I saw something flash across his eyes it didn't look malicious to harmful but it looked different. Not like when my dad got angry after hearing my stutter. It was something else, something warm.
"Can I get some coins for a five?" He pulled out a five dollar bill and slid it across the counter putting his hands back into his pocket after I took the bill.
"Sure." I put the bill into the register and typed the number into the coin slot. I grabbed a small bag and put it under the receiver just to make it easier for him.
"Hey, you go to OS right?" I stopped in my tracks, "I think I've seen you around." I pressed the button and let the coins fall into the bag.
"Yeah, I do." I looked back and saw him watching me. I turned back to the coins and pulled them away from the receiver once it was done filling. I twisted the back and put it up onto the counter.
"You're a senior right, I think we have AP US History together." I looked down at my hands before looking back up at him.
"Maybe I'm not sure. I don't really talk to anyone in that class." I smiled lightly before looking away, keeping eye contact was so hard for me it almost felt impossible.
"Hey, Park!" He turned back and shooed his friends away for just a second.
"Well, I'll keep an eye out for you. You got a name?" I took a breath and pushed my fear away. I wasn't just going to leave him hanging I know it would haunt me for months to come. I wasn't going to be that girl.
"It's Y/N." I smiled at him and he smiled back, his teeth shining so bright I could almost think they were fake.
"Pretty, I'll see you around, Y/N." He took the bag from the counter and smoothly walked away. The way my name rolled off his lips made my heart skip a beat or two. I had never gotten attention like that and I couldn't help but want more of it, for some reason it felt good to be acknowledged by him. All my life it was beat her, call her names, make sure that she knows she's trash and soon I began to believe it but hes making me feel different. He even called my name pretty.
I scolded myself. I couldn't be thinking about this I didn't even know his name, I mean I know his last name is Park but only because it says it on his jacket. His last name with a big two on the back in black, white, and red, OS colors. Why didn't I see it before logically I should've known as soon as he walked in. I guess my fear just blinded my brain. I really wanted to look at him again and I looked up to find some of his friends looking at me, a small smile on their faces. I quickly looked away and went to cleaning under the shelves. Maria really needed to learn how to keep organized.
Time passed in the small arcade and kids came and went with smiles and laughs. It was great to see them happy. Them talking about girls or boys that they had crushes on or how their math teacher sucks Donkey Kong's dick, yes that's something I've actually heard. All their juvenile fears and worries are something that I have envied for so long. Sometimes my brain thinks of what my family could have been and honestly it's just my subconscious throwing a pity party for myself.
"Hey Y/N?" The boy from earlier came up to the counter with a little girl had to be no more than 8, her black hair pulled up in two ponytails secured with a pink ribbons. He smiled and slid another five over, "Can I get some more coins please?" I smiled and nodded taking the five and repeating the process over again. I put the coins in the bag and slid them back across the counter.
"Now," he crouched down to her level and handed her all the coins. "go take these and share them with the rest of the kids okay. You'll have so many friends you won't even believe." He patted the little girls shoulder and watched her as she ran off the coin jingling in her grasp.
"Thank you mister." She waved and went over to a small group of kids, offering the coins to play with her they all screamed in glee and hugged her. So, it was that easy to make friends huh?
"Why did you do that?" I couldn't hold back the curiosity he spent 10 dollars here today, 10 dollars. That's a lot for an arcade and money usually isn't tossed around like that.
"She was crying over there. She had no coins and no friends it's hard out there if you have no friends. Look at that," he pointed to the gathering at Pac Man. The girl was laughing and watching some boy play. "instant happiness."
"Why are you so nice?" The question came out like rushing water. I didn't want to push him because for all I know he could come out and be a total jerk.
"Where would I be in life if I was rude? There's really no point." He shrugged and leaned on the counter, his stance was calm. He watches his friends mess around at street fighter and he watched the girl with her new found friends at Pac Man.
"But you're a jock. You have every right to be rude." I sounded defensive and I urged myself to relax, my shoulder were tensed and my hands were crossed at my chest, my body basically telling him that I didn't trust him.
"I mean I play a sport yeah, and I have a bunch of friends but that doesn't give me the right to be rude. I think it's just a stereotype to be completely honest, based on some assholes who were jocks you know. Being a jerk only gets you alone." His words really rang true, I was stereotyping him and I found myself disgusted with myself.
"I'm sorry." I let my hands fall against the counter, finally relaxing.
"Its alright. I mean it's a stereotype for a reason. Some jocks do think they can get away with being rude. Not this one." He smiled and pointed to himself.
"I never got your name." I said pulling over the stool that sat there for slow days.
"Oh, its Seonghwa. Park Seonghwa." He pushed out his hand and I took it with a smile. He went back to leaning against the counter but this time he was facing me.
"Do you live around here?" He asked smiling. He held my eye contact and I found my heart skipping a few beats again.
"Um, no it's like 10 blocks away." I pointed in the direction my house and I finally took notice of the sky outside. The sun had set and it looked pitch black except for the dim yellow street lights that lit the roads.
"I didn't see another car in the parking lot, do you walk?" Worry flashes across his face and I found myself not wanting to tell him the truth. I had a feeling it would worry him even more if I confirmed his suspicions.
"Yeah but it really doesn't feel like a long time." I waved him off and smiled. He opened his mouth to say something but his friends interrupted him.
"Hey, Hwa I gotta get home. My moms got a casserole in the oven. Wanna join, you know she loves you." A short boy with blonde hair came up to Seonghwa and put an arm around him.
"No, I can't I got family plans tonight but I'll take you home." He stood up fully and the guys arm fell back to his side, not being able to comfortably sit on Seonghwas broad shoulders.
"And who's this pretty lady?" I found my cheeks heating up at the compliment. He seemed slick and his feline eyes held deep brown orbs. They are soft but sharp at the same.
"Guys this is Y/N, Y/N these are the guys." He moved out of the way and I stood up to politely greet them.
"Wooyoung." The blonde haired boy waved and moved to the side.
"Yeosang." He has beautiful auburn hair and brown eyes that I could stare into forever.
"Hongjoong." The last guy had light brown hair that came to a mullet at the end. And on his hand I saw one painted fingernail.
I hated to make the observation but Seonghwa really was better looking than all of them. With his tanned skin and heading highlights nobody in this group matched his complexion, he was almost unreal.
"It was really nice to meet you Y/N. We'll see you around." Seonghwa held the door open for his friends and waved to me as the door shut, letting the cold night air in again. I waved back and sighed my gut telling me that they were just going to tall about how ugly I was on the ride home. My brain really wouldn't let me have anything good.
"Hey kids, I'm gonna have to ask you to finish up your games." I went out from behind the counter and started shutting down the games that were being used, alas it was closing time at Pip's Arcade. One by one the kids walked out the door to their parents or I saw groups of them riding away on bikes the ideal transportation for kids these days. I began to wish that I had a bike when I was younger, the thought of being able to ride away from my parents whenever I wanted to because a little fantasy of mine. Maybe that's why they never let me buy a bike, I mean if I ever learned how to ride a bike that's what I would be doing.
I began to do small chores like wiping down the screens of the games as well as the windows and doors to the arcade. The keys and joysticks have already been disinfected and all the coins that were used today were put in a separate bucket to keep inventory. I refilled up the coin machine and double checked that everything else was stocked.
The bathrooms were usually the worst part, sometimes kids didn't flush and there was literal shit everywhere or the paper towels and toilet paper were thrown haphazardly around the room. Thankfully it wasn't as bad as it usually was, a couple napkins and candy wrappers here and there but nothing too bad and for sure nothing that I couldn't handle.
The last thing to do was to do a once-over of everything to make sure that it was all good before locking the back door and taking the trash out of the front, locking the glass doors behind me. Each one of the closing staff has a key of their own so we could just close up and Pip wouldn't have to worry about coming to close it up at night. I put the trash in the side bin and turned to go home.
"Hey, pretty girl!" I turned around in shock to find Seonghwa sitting on one of the small decorative poles we had set up at the front, a bag of colorful candy in his hand. He looked me straight in the eyes and pulled some of the gummy candy out of the bag before popping one side in his mouth, stretching it until it broke off his his teeth.
"Seonghwa, what are you doing here? Don't you have family plans?" I tightened my grip on the backpack strap on my shoulder and took a deep breath. This is where he takes me around the corner and slits my throat and no one will ever find my body like with that one handsome murderer. What was his name again?
"Just thought you might like a ride. It's too cold to walk without a coat now." He finished off his gummy and put the rest in his pocket. He hopped off the pole and walked over to me.
"You really don't have to. I can walk." I looked you at him and I finally realized how tall he really was. My neck had a small stretch from looking up at him and I literally just started. His skin was also so smooth I wouldn't believe he was a teenager, it was almost like he was a robot. I mean my dad was saying that Russia made robots already but that was only when he was drunk.
"Well, I really want to." He looped his arm around my shoulders and guided me to the car opening the door for me to slide right in. His car was actually really nice it was clean which was a really big plus. The seats were black and the outside was a light blue a really good match for him.
I sat on the plush leather seats and held my bag on my lap, not knowing till now how uncomfortable it was to sit in a bar with a backpack. He opened his door and hopped in putting on his seat belt and then started the car. The engine sounded impressive for how the car looked but then again I haven't sat in a car for long time.
"Seat belt." He looked over at me with expectant eyes. Like I was meant to do something for him.
"What?" I looked at him in confusion and he smiled lightly.
"Here," he reaches over my chest and pushed my bag out of the way a little before grabbing something next to me and pulling it across my chest. It clicked by my hip and I looked back up at him, "seat belt." He smiled and then pit the car in reverse looking back before smoothly pulling out of the parking spot.
I guess I hadn't been a car in longer than I thought. My dad's car didn’t have seat belts or if it did he never told us. It also felt weird I was so used to walking so seeing everything go by so fast was crazy, I looked out the window to see if I could catch every single house with my eye.
"How do you get to school Y/N?" Seonghwa had his hand on the little console nub, occasionally shifting the nub making the car change in speed and the other on the steering wheel.
"I walk every morning." I looked over at him and his eyes were focused on the road.
"Your parents don't take you to school?" He shifted gears again and I gave him a small direction to turn left.
"They don't have time to take me to school anymore," like they eleven did in the first place, "I'm really fine with walking. It wakes me up in the morning." He sighed and shook his head.
"Its gonna start getting really cold soon. Do you have a coat?" He looked over at me and caught me looking at him so I turned towards the window again. I put my forehead against it and found that it was freezing, it soothed the beginnings of a headache.
"No, why do you care so much?" I didn't want to sound defensive but with the way he sighed I knew that I did.
"I don't know Y/N. You just can't go around walking in winter with no coat." He said and I pointed to the he small house at the end of the street. The rotting shingles of the cream colored house were hidden bu the darkness of the night but everyone could see the house. It looked like the drug house, every neighborhood had one. This one just happened to be my home.
"It's not winter yet." I grumbled and he chuckled.
"You are just so stubborn aren't you?" He pulled into the driveway and put the car in park.
"I mean I think I'm pretty reasonable." I shrugged and smiled at him. He looked at me and rolled his eyes with a light smile.
"I'm picking you up from now on." He turned to look straight ahead at the garage door which house an old 1950 car that my father only used to go to the bar.
"Seonghwa you can't. It's completely out of the way. It's a waste of gas." I turned to him in my seat and tried to reason with him. Even him being here now was a risk if my dad saw him taking me home we were both toast. He would kill both of us.
"It's okay. I have a good paying job. I can't just let you walk in the cold. I'll let you walk again in the springtime." He let his hands fall into his lap and he turned to me for the first time since he started this conversation. His eyes were warm and genuine, it felt calm and serene it was like the moment in the movies were nobody speaks but they just know and they kiss and gross shit. I just knew he was being genuine.
"Fine. Just park across the street and I'll walk to your car, okay?" I looked down at the seat belt and began to try and pull it off. It just kept getting tighter and tighter and I sighed looking for something for it to unlock.
"Deal." He reached towards my hip and the pressure on my lap disappeared. The buckle went back to its place by the door and I smiled, I was so dumb. I grabbed the handle and opened the door.
"Bye Seonghwa." I grabbed the frame of the door and was going to shut it when he stopped me,
"Hey wait," he reached into his pocket and pulled put the candy, "for making my day." I took the bag with a smile and gave him a small wave before heading into the house.
The door creaked and I turned around to watch Seonghwa pull out of the driveway and back down the street. I shut the door quietly and locked it up, knowing my dad would have a fit if he woke up and it wasn't locked. He was asleep in his easy chair the light snoring in the living room telling me to go nowhere near there. I put my bag back on my shoulders and walked quietly into the kitchen grabbing a plate from the fridge before making my way up the stairs.
My mom was one of the exceptions to the abuse and the dysfunction. She married my father when they were young, she had no idea what he would become. She told me once that she was going to just run away and leave but then she found out that she was pregnant with my brother and she stayed. She was a flower in the desert, it's what I like to call her.
"Mommy?" I put the plate and my bag in my room before taking to the hallways to find her.
"In here dear," I followed her voice to the bathroom. She was in the bath her hair pulled up and a book in her hands, "I borrowed this from your room. Hope you don't mind but I've read all mine twice already." She laughed and folded the book to show me the cover. IT by Stephen King. It came out earlier this year and has been one of my favorite books up to date.
"Not at all, mind if I eat in here with you?" I waited until she nodded to go grab my plate. It was meatloaf and mashed potatoes my father's favorite. He must have been in a bad mood today, the fresh bruise on my moms arm was also a dead giveaway. She knows that I see it and yet I don't say anything. I know it breaks her heart.
"So, this Stephen guy is kind of messed up." She flipped the page and then folded the corner, which made my heart die a little but I let her do it because I love my mom.
"Yeah, I think he's made a couple of others and there all messed up. They have like murder and like spiritual powers and stuff. He's the new King of horror. Get it?" I laughed at my own joke and she began chuckling as well.
"How did I make something so perfect?" He grabbed my cheek and caressed her fingers against it. They were soft and warm comforting, like ever mothers touch.
"I mean have you looked in the mirror? Look at all that beauty." I knew that if I let her indulge in how much she loved me I would begin to cry. We often cried together because we both know we deserve better than this. We deserve a nice house in a cul de sac with a good dad and husband who cooks while my mom takes her baths and reads.
"Oh shut up." She laughed and patted my head before finally putting her hands in the bath and relaxing. "How was work?" She closed her eyes but I knew she was listening. I reached over and shut the door lightly.
"It was good. Maria thought I wasn't coming in once again." I leaned against the tub and began to finish my dinner.
"That girl needs to relax." My mom shifted in the water and the sound of water moving around instantly relaxed me.
"Well, they've left her there alone three times. That's three times too many." I put my plate off time the side and took a deep breath. "I also met a boy." My mom sucked in a deep breath and I shut my eyes tight.
"You can't bring him here. You know that right?" My moms voice turned serious and I sighed.
"He wants to pick me up every morning. He's worried cause I walk alone at night in the cold." She shifted in the water again and I knew she was looking at me.
"Y/N, you remember the last time you brought someone over? He hurt you so bad, you were so young." She caressed my hair and I felt the water droplets fall down the back of my neck.
"I told him to park across the street. Hopefully hes here after dad leaves." I sighed and leaned into her touch, a small tear leaving the corner of my eye.
"Good. Now, tell me about him. Is he cute?" The rest of the night went smoothly we talked for hours or until the water in the tub got cold then we went to her rooms after doing the dishes together and I braided her hair. We talked about Seonghwa and what I want to do when I'm older. It was really anything and everything. I fell asleep in her comforting arms as light rain began to pour from the sky.
I woke up to my mom shaking my arm. It had to be before the sun was up because the only light in the room was the light coming from the bathroom. She stood above me with a pile of clothes, "I washed these for you. Go put them away. Your father's gone." I sat up and took them from her, a fresh pair of underwear sat on the top of the pile. That meant I was able to shower today.
The water was nice and warm against my back. It has been about three days since my last shower and I was already beginning to feel grimy. After sweating at work and in my gym class it was time to take care of myself a bit. I never showered when my dad is here you never know when he'll pop in to go pee even when there's a bathroom downstairs.
My mom insisted she brush my hair and style it, something she's done ever since I was a kid. She put it in a half up half down look that was becoming more and more popular. She even sprayed a little perfume on my neck, something she only did for special occasions.
"You know I love you right?" She smiled and gave me a hug. He made eye contact in the mirror and I could see her eyes were full of love.
"I know, mommy. I love you too." I hugged her arms and then turned around for a full hug.
"Go wait for your friend. I'll see you when you get home." She kissed my forehead and I grabbed my bag from my room, the bag of gummy worms still in the front pouch. Turns out my mom had excellent timing, Seonghwa showing up right as I reached the window to watch.
"Is this a good time?" I opened the door and he greeted me with that." I nodded and put my bag on my lap reaching for the seat belt while looking for what it clicked into. The silver metal box with the red button on it seemed like a good spot and I got it in on the first try.
"So, do you live around here?" I wanted to know how far away he lived so I could measure how much has he was using to pick me up.
"Yeah, actually. Its really just right around the corner. About 3 blocks that way." He pointed to the right and I nodded. That was the rich people neighborhood, everyone knew that.
"Okay that's not horrible." I looked out the window again and watched the trees go by. It was gloomy today, the remnants of the rain still dripping from the tree branches.
"Hey, so me and a couple of friends are going to see a drive-in movie tonight. Wanna go?" His eyes were still on the road when I looked at him. Is the asking me out on a date? It was honestly a foreign concept to me but first dates are always to the movies. But he said his friends were going so it wasn't just us.
"I don't have any money." I felt embarrassed at the fact that I truly didn't have money for things like that.
"I can pay for you. Its gonna be rad." He chuckled and looked at me for assurance.
"Are you sure you want me to come?" I looked at him and found him staring at me, the look in his eyes much like the one of my mother's but different.
"Of course. I hope you like horror though." He turned back to the road and pulled into the school parking lot, finding a spot close to the door. Student athletes get privileges what can I say.
"Which one is it?" Not that I really would have an idea of what it was. I haven't seen a movie in theaters since my fifth birthday, the last birthday party I ever had.
"Aliens, it came out a couple years ago. They’re just now allowed to show it at the drive-in." The way he talked about it made me excited. His smile pulling his cheeks up and making his eyes squint. Stop. You can't think like that, hes just trying to be nice. Befriending the loner girl would make his reputation soar.
"Hey, we're here." He out his hand on my shoulder and I instantly flinched. I chuckled and shook it off.
"Sorry I was thinking about how cool that movie is going to be. I'll come." I could stick it to my dad for one night. Tell them that Maria asked me to take her shift tonight. Easy enough.
"Awesome!" I couldn't help but think about the look in his eyes after I flinched at his touch. It was just so natural to be afraid if anyone's touch but my mother's. Her loving hugs and touches were the only good contact I had with people in this world. Even my brother couldn't compare.
I got out of the car and instantly felt eyes on me. Wooyoung, Yeosang, and Hongjoong were all waiting by the doors for him and a couple of others standing next to them as well. They all waved and smiled and walked over to us. They were positively magnetic, wherever they went new eyes followed their movements and in turn they all went to me the new person in the group.
"Hey Pretty Lady!" Wooyoung out his hand up in the air and recoiled a bit before realizing that it was just a high five I pulled it off by doing some weird hand movements to reach his high five. They laughed and whooped causing more attention to shift to us.
"So, Y/N's going to be coming to the movies with us today. Is that cool with everybody?" They all agreed and nodded. I felt accepted already into this large group of jocks and I couldn't help but feel a little powerful.
"Oh, this is Yunho, San, Mingi, and Jongho." Wooyoung pointed at a bunch of different people and I shot a small wave to all of them.
"I'm Y/N nice to meet you." I smiled and laughed as they all shot greetings my way.
"Alright guys let's go." Hongjoong led the way into the doors and I felt Seonghwas arm slip around my shoulders. Honestly I was thankful for his touch, as all the eyes and the whispers began to become too loud to my ears his warm arm was there to pull me back to him. Almost like a gravitational pull.
"I'll see you in US history." He branched off the other way and I was back to being alone. In a sea of monsters who all wanted to stop me and talk but I brushed past until I finally got to my English class where my isolation began all over again. It was really nothing special everything the teacher taught I knew already, I was way ahead in the book we were reading so all there was left to do was stare out the window and hope that the bell would ring soon.
The halls were way more crowded than I remember them being, everyone trying to get to their lockers or whatever class they were going to, lines behind the vending machine and the bathroom doors swinging open and closed. It was all so much and all the eyes staring at me made my skin crawl with unease. Around every corner it was "the girl who is friends with the football team".
"Hey," an arm slipped around my shoulders once more but I knew who it was, "how was your class?" I leaned into his shoulder and sighed.
"It was fine. Really nothing interesting, it's senior English." I chuckled and breathed in his scent. He was wearing a grey turtleneck and black pants, no varsity jacket to be found a plain outfit but it was nice. It smelled warm and calm, and mixed with his natural scent it was practically heaven. Maybe it's weird to like the way he smells but I didn't tell my olfactory senses to hop on it.
"I get that much. I take that third and fourth term. Maybe you can help me, cause you're just too smart." His voice turned to a mocking tone and I chuckled, hitting his stomach lightly.
"I did not say that." I pushed a little closer to him and he stumbled a little but caught his footing before it was an issue.
"Sounded pretty similar if you ask me." I put my head fully on his shoulder and just enjoyed the moment. He was walking me to class with his arm around my shoulders, saying that yes this is my friend. We looked around the class and saw only two available seats next to each other so I sat in front of him and he sat behind me. The bell rang and I got out my stuff and that's when I began to feel his hand in my hair.
At first it was light pressure against my scalp, he was twirling my hair in his fingers I really didn't mind either on of the ways my mom helps he relax after my dad gets angry. He was twirling and braiding the strands of my hair together and then he moved up, his fingers grazing the nape of my neck causing me to flinch a little at the sensitivity there. He rubbed small circles into my skin, telling me that it was okay he want going to hurt me and I relaxed in my seat.
His fingers then went into my scalp and that's when I felt really calm. The teacher was droning on about some president or whatever but my eyelids were dropping and I couldn't care, the way he was rubbing circles into my scalp had my body loose like a goose and that's when my head fell back in his hands and I was out like a light.
"Hey, pretty girl." Someone was shaking my arm and it was then that I remembered where I was. I opened my eyes to see Seonghwa crouching next to my desk, his eyes warm and sweet like always.
"Did I fall asleep?" I yawned and sat up in my desk, multiple places in my back popping.
"Yeah, you really didn't miss much. I can give you the notes." I looked around at the class and the rest of the students were packing up, getting ready to go to lunch.
"Thanks, Seonghwa." I put my books back in my bag and zipped it up before standing up and putting in on my back. I yawned once more and Seonghwa opened his arms. Without a second thought I went into them and put my ear against his chest, hearing his steady heartbeat. He put his arms around me and held my head to his chest, playing with my hair once again.
I can't imagine how we looked right now. Last night I was telling him that he couldn't pick me up or take my home but without the fear of my dad shadow over my my heart was so open to him. It felt like I had known him for years really, the way it was so easy to talk to him and have him hold me like he does was something that I couldn't wrap my head around.
"Let's go to lunch." He pulled away lightly and turned me around, lightly pushing me to walk towards the door.
"Alright alright I'm going." I groaned and walked faster until his hands fell off my shoulders. He walked next to me and grabbed his backpack straps.
"What are you gonna get? He asked while waving to some guys in the hall.
"I've got some stuff in my bag." I shrugged and looked towards the cafeteria doors. Really I was just going to eat the gummy worms that he have me yesterday. I don't have the luxury of packing a lunch, surprise surprise.
"Alright you wait here and I'll find the gang and lead you there." He smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I was actually grateful that he did that for me. One of my biggest anxieties was trying to find somewhere to sit during lunch. It's not like I had friends to find during lunch.
"Hey sweet cakes." I turned around to find a guy standing there. His hair shagged against his forehead and his blues eyes burned into mine. They were close and unforgiving, it made me take a step back.
"Um, hello?" I looked around for someone to save me but the hallway was empty.
"So are you and Seonghwa a thing?" He put his hands in his jean pockets and leaned against the white wall.
"No." Part of my heart desperately wished that I could say yes but I guess it was for the best.
"Oh that's sweet. Wanna go out back and show me a good time?" He licked his dry lips and looked me up and down.
"No thank you." I took another step back but that prompted him to take a step closer.
"Of come on. You need all those men to satisfy you? I can give you what you want more than those jokers can." He moved a step closer and I put my arms up trying to tell him to keep a distance.
"Is there something I can help you with?" Seonghwa rounded the corner and in two strides he was gently pulling me away from this guy.
"Hey Hwa. I was just offering that sweet piece of ass a good time behind the bleachers. Give the old one two football ritual?" The guy laughed and licked his lips again. I watched as Seonghwa pulled the guy by his shirt and whisper something in his ear. The guys face turned from smug to terrified.
"You ever come near her again I'll break your nose." Seonghwa placed his hand on my shoulder and lead me into the cafeteria.
"That guy was a creep." Seonghwa put his arm fully around me and led me through the cafeteria.
"That's Nate for you. He didn't touch you did he?" Seonghwas eyebrows were firmly set in the middle of his forehead and his jaw was clenched.
"No, I think you got there just in time. I mean I told him no but he just kept coming." I looked up at him and saw that was still looking ahead.
"Its okay. He won't come near you again. And you tell me if anyone does that again, okay?" I nodded and he looked back to guide me to a table in the middle. It was chaos, San, Mingi, and Wooyoung were playing swords with their pencils, Yeosang, Jongho, and Yunho were trying to throw food in each others mouths, and Hongjoong was shaking his head as he watched this all fold out.
"Hey Y/N!" Wooyoung waved and in the process got stabbed in the hand by a pencil. Hitting San has he began to celebrate.
"I'm going to find something to eat, I'll be back." Seonghwa rubbed my head before going to join the small lunch line.
"So, you met Hwa at the arcade?" Yunho stopped throwing his food at Yeosang and Jongho choosing to talk to me instead.
"Yeah, I also met Hongjoong, Wooyoung, and Yeosang." The boys began to turn their heads as I said their names.
"Are you sure you guys didn't know each other before?" Yunho stabbed a grape tomato with his fork and brought it to his mouth and popped it in after he was finished talking.
"No, I don't think so. I just feel really comfortable with you guys." I pulled out the gummy worms from my bag and began to slowly eat them. I can't remember the last time I actually had candy.
"Well, you guys seem very close. Like best friends for years close." San joined in in the conversation while chewing on some of Wooyoungs french fries.
"Guys I'm convinced that the lunch lady has a crush on me." We all laughed and talked through lunch Seonghwa looking down at the candy every so often with a smirk on his face.
Without Seonghwa on my side I found how boring my life actually was. I didn't move from class to class and have friends in each one like most people do, different moments of happiness. I moved through the rest of the school day sluggish and bored without Seonghwa I mean, even Hongjoong or Wooyoung would be an improvement from all these girls whispering in each others ears while looking back at me. Acting like I was some sort of endangered animal that they could just gawk at.
The white walls seemed yellow and the bright red lockers looked crummy and gross without the filter of Seonghwas happiness. I guess I was looking too far into this friendship thing I've never really had a friend before. Having plans after school, having people that enjoy my company, it was all very new to me.
"Y/N!" Wooyoung stopped me in the hallway and threw his arm over my shoulders like Seonghwa does. He was wearing red shorts and a black t-shirt, gym clothes.
"What's up Wooyoung?" I followed him down the hall and watched as more people stared. Honestly it was getting old.
"The basketball coach what's a small practice today so Seonghwa was going to come get you but I offered instead. It's not fair that he gets you all the time." Wooyoung put his head on mine and pouted into my hair. It was really nice to hear that he wanted to spend more time with me, and to be honest I liked how they already argued over my attention. It made my heart beat too fast to be normal.
"I'll try and hang with you more." I put my arm around his wrist and pulled him closer. "So, will I just sit and watch this practice?" The gym was within sight and I saw all the boys bouncing basketballs and shooting hoops it immediately made me feel nervous. I have a really bad reputation and basketballs always seem to find my head like a magnet.
"Yeah, we're just gonna run through some drills and see if they work okay for us." We walked through the doors and Seonghwa looked over and waved with a big smile on his face. "Want me to grab a chair for you?" Wooyoung unraveled his arms from mine and pointed to a closet which, I'm guessing held all the chairs.
"No, I'll pop a squat on the floor. Thanks though!" I dropped my bag on the floor and took out a book, something I just grabbed from the library today, it seemed good enough.
"Alright boys! Balls away let's line up." The coach walked out in skin-tight red shorts and a white shirt, neither left any to the imagination. "Hey kid, are you just here to watch?" He walked over to me a crouched to my level.
"Yeah, my ride is practicing." I pointed to Seonghwa in the lineup and the coach smiled.
"He's a good kid. This shouldn't take too long." He stood up and gave instructions to the boys while I started read the first words of my book.
"Alright! Start running!" He blew the whistle and the boys began running around the gym, occasionally pushing each other because that's what boys do. It was cute watching most of them keep up with boys like Seonghwa and Hongjoong, Mingi sticking out in particular. He was sweating buckets and breathing heavily, for being a tall skinny boy he sure didn't have good endurance and I laughed as Wooyoung hooked an arm around his shoulder encouraging him to go faster.
Seonghwa was doing so well and I finally understood why he was such a star athlete. He ran about 5 laps and he wasn't even breaking a sweat yet, his legs moving effortlessly against the gym floor. He talked with Hongjoong about anything and he wasn't huffing and puffing like I would be if I was in that situation.
After a while the boys stopped running and spread around the gym to stretch and things before the coach distributed pinnies. The old material looking and smelling like death in the musty air. I wished that the coach actually took time and washed them for the boys and for the bystanders. Maybe his mustache covered up the funk and he couldn't smell it. That could be it.
Even as he worked out Seonghwa looked great, which was a heard feat for some people the activity being too much often giving them a red face that is less than attractive, like Nate over there. The boy who stopped me in the hall and was being awfully disgusting was over there with his hands on his knees trying to catch is breath. I think he caught me staring because he straightened up and winked. I could’ve thrown up in my mouth right there and then but Seonghwa came over, refreshing me like a cold glass of water.
“What are you reading?” He tipped the book and looked at the cover, finding the women on the front clearly in distress.
“Something I just picked off of the shelf.” I closed the book slightly and looked up at him. There was something so sweet and protective in his eyes and it made me feel safe from Nate, from my Dad, from the world. He opened his mouth to say something before the coaches words cut through the thick air.
“Park let’s get back in the game!” He smiles at me and taps the tip of my nose with his finger. He gets up and takes the ball from the coach before officially starting the game. I turned back to me book and didn’t pay much attention to the boys anymore, finding their game to be very repetitive and a little boring for my taste.
The book was bringing in so many characters that my head was spinning, the mention of all these characters confusing the mental list in my head. All these people fighting over the main protagonist that really didn't want to have anything to do with these men. She was really ready to just pack up and leave with her younger sister. A princess with a "duty" to her country and her family but she doesn't want to. Just as I was getting into the book I heard someone call my name and I look up to see the ball come soaring towards my face.
"Watch out!" I dropped the book and went to cover my face, ready for the ball to hit me where ever it wanted. There was a loud thud but the pressure wasn't there at all. I slowly opened my eyes and let my hands fall to my lap. Seonghwa was standing in front of me, his back to me while he stared back at the boys.
"Play ball." The coach tried to defuse the situation and held his hands out so Seonghwa could lightly toss the ball to him. He didn't join the game, instead he picked up the book and handed it back to my shaky hands.
"Are you alright?" He crouched down once more to look in my eyes.
"Just a little scared is all." I laughed quietly and just watched as he brought his hand to caress my hair.
"It was Nate, he threw the ball at you." He sighed and just looked into my eyes, trying to gauge my reaction.
"It's okay. Some people are just assholes and that's okay." The words made me think of my father. He was an asshole for no reason and I felt like I was defending him. Every swing he took at my mother and me felt justified by my words.
"But people should pay for their wrong doings." Seonghwa tapped his fingers against my forehead and cheeks causing me to laugh at the ticklish sensation.
"Alright boys, practice is over. Nate stay back with me." The coach blew the whistle and the boys ran away to go change, knocking into each other and slapping backs of heads. Just boy things.
"You can wait outside the bathroom until we're done, okay?" Seonghwa stood up and offered me his hand which I gladly took. He waited while I gathered up all my stuff and I threw my backpack onto my shoulders. He hooked his arm around me like normal and led me to the outside of the changing room.
I held my backpack straps in my hands and took this time to think. I thought about my mom and how much I loved her and I wanted her to have a better life than what she had. It was something that I thought about way too often and when I told my mom that I do think about it she just scoffs and tells me to focus on more important things, like she's not the most important thing in my life.
I thought about Seonghwa and how he made me feel safe and loved and how he is taking care of me even though he doesn't have to. Thinking about how he brought me to this group of people who accepted me even though I'm not rich or not on a sports team. I don't have a Letterman jacket and I don't have fancy clothes and sometimes I wear them two days in a row.
"Hey, are you ready?" His grey turtleneck and black pants were back on and the rest of the boys were filing out of the locker room.
"Yeah." I smiled and followed him to his car. Once we got there he grabbed the bag from my shoulders and threw it in the backseat while I got situated in the front seat.
"So, we've still got a bit of time before the move so we're going to go out to eat." He sat down on the seat and buckled up before starting up the car.
"Seonghwa-"
"Before you say 'I don't have money' I don't care. I'm paying." He pulled out of the school smoothly and started driving.
"You don't have to do that." I gripped my shirt between my fingers and looked out the window, watching all the cars pass by.
"You're stubborn." He chuckled and pulled into a diner it was small and really hidden between the mess of libraries and newspaper outlets. It wasn't that far from school but I don't go out to eat so it wasn't a surprise that I had no idea what the place was.
"The Travelers Diner." I read the sign out loud as we passed by. There was barely any one there so that told me a bit about how popular they were.
"Yeah, Jongho works here on the weekends and let me tell you its super busy. We just missed the dinner rush." Seonghwa pulled into a parking spot and turned off his car, hopping out and running around to my side. He grabbed my hand and helped me out of the car before shutting the door and locking it. My hand was still in his as he led me into the diner and I felt my cheeks and neck heat up at the simple touch.
The patrons were mostly the elderly all of them enjoying an early dinner or a late night cup of coffee. The shop smelt good fresh coffee grounds were being poured into the coffee machine and the grill had sizzling meat on it. The whole atmosphere was warm and cozy, the small chatter between a husband and wife and the old man on the counter lightly humming to the song coming from the boombox behind the counter.
"Seonghwa! Who's it going buddy?" A man with an apron cane from behind the counter and have Seonghwa a deep hug. He was much older then the both of us but he seemed ecstatic to see his friend. He had to be about 40 and he had a bit of a guy but it really suited the vibe of this place.
"I've been amazing how about you, Sergio?" Seonghwa pulled away and joined hands with me once more, not even parted for a minute.
"Business is booming thanks to you. I'm still waiting on that picture." He laughed and grabbed two menus from the counter.
"You don't have to do that. I'm just here to help." Sergio led the way to the tables and Seonghwa pulled me along behind him while I let the situation sink in. I was going out to eat for the first time since I could remember.
"I was going bankrupt and you swooped in and saved the day. I owe my success to you, kid." He set down the menus and smiled at us, before walking back behind the counter and into the kitchen.
"Who's that?" I looked around the table and saw small little designs that made me smile. The table was a bright red and had a small black border along the inside. 'Jake' was messily carved into the middle and in could just imagine the boy taking a knife and marking his territory.
"His names Sergio. Family friend." Seonghwa smiled before bringing the menu up to his face, searching over what they had. I really already knew what I wanted and it was definitely not meatloaf. I
"Hey kids. What can I get you to drink?" A middle-aged woman came over wearing a bright red uniform and a tag that read 'Cindy'. She was smiling and smacking on some bubblegum as she brought out her notepad.
“I’ll get a Dr. Pepper.” He smiled at Cindy and then turned to me.
“I’ll get the same with a lemon please.” I remember hearing some kids say that Dr. Pepper was super good with lemon and now would probably be they only time to get to try it so I might as well.
“Alright and are y’all ready to order?” She looked up form her pad and looked to Seonghwa.
“I’ll have whatever the chef’s special is today.” He put down the menu and nodded to me.
“I’ll have a cheeseburger with everything on it and the waffle fries with a side of ranch.” I looked to Seonghwa and he smiled back at me, nodding slightly at my choice.
“Alright kids. It’ll be right out for you.” She took the menus and went behind the counter to put the order in.
The diner was great. Seonghwa and I talked about anything and everything, the socializing bringing back a side of me that I couldn’t remember existed. I almost made Seonghwa spit soda out of his nose at least six times with all the jokes I was cracking all while actually having my first cheeseburger. We laughed until the sun was setting and we were heading out the door to join the rest at the movies.
The laughing didn’t stop at the diner and it carried on into the car, him talking about funny stories with his parents and me adding onto that with funny stories at my old school, choosing not to talk about my parents. We pulled into the entryway of the movies and he purchased two tickets for Alien.
“So is this movie like really scary?” I looked around the parking spots and saw Yeosang and Mingi waving their arms in the air, telling Seonghwa to park there.
“I’m really not sure. I heard that it’s scary but I didn’t have them go into detail.” He put the car in park and turned the station that the attendant said the movie would be on.
“What took you guys so long?” Hongjoong rolled down his window and hooked his arm out of it.
“We went to grab a bite to eat.” Seonghwa had me roll down my window so he could talk with Hongjoong.
“And you didn’t invite us?” Wooyoungs voice cute through the wind and he went over to my window.
“Yeah, it was just Y/N and me.” Seonghwa smiled and then rolled down his window, Mingi knocking on it lightly. The boys were so excited, the sun had set and the screen was flickering to life. Seonghwa had us roll up our windows and turned the air conditioning on a low blast. The movie started and I immediately curled up into the seat, listening the beginnings of the movie.
I can’t remember how long it’s been but I just remember leaning into Seonghwa more and more, the events of the movie getting scarier and scarier. Baby aliens were popping out of peoples stomachs and I just couldn’t handle it. I jumped and pushed my head into Seonghwas neck, wrapping my arms around his torso. I squeezed my eyes shut and just listened to the sounds of the mans stomach popping open,
“Hey pretty girl it’s okay. It’s just a movie.” His hands came around my shoulders and ran his hand through my hair. He turned down the radio and brought his lips to my hair, running them across the smooth expanse of my head.
“I know, I know.” I pulled away from his neck looking back at the movie only to turn away again. I laughed against his chest and rolled my eyes, I was being so stupid. It was really just a movie. The sounds of the movie played quietly in the background but I decided to focus on his heartbeat which was faster than normal, probably because he was scared.
“Hey, Y/N?” Seonghwa was rubbing small circles onto my back and occasionally my arms, traveling around a bit.
“Yes?” I looked up to him and I found that he was already looking at me. His hand snaked up to my cheek and held the flesh gently in his hand. He was looking at my eyes watching as I flicked them from his eyes, to his nose, and finally to his plump lips. They turned up into a small smirk and my cheeks heated up at the fact that he caught me looking at his lips. Part of me just wanted to lunge forward and connect our lips but I didn’t want to misread the feelings in the air. Maybe he was just laughing at me because I was scared of the dumb movie, or maybe he was laughing at me cause I actually thought he maybe likes me.
Everything seemed to move in slow motion as he brought his lips onto mine. The soft flesh melding together as my stomach turned in circles. Butterflies had infected my belly and they had taken flight after being dormant for so long. It was nothing like I had ever felt before, his lips moving lightly against mine virtually showing me what to do and I just kind of went with it. Our mouths were moving together naturally now, messily bumping noses as we turned our heads to follow the other. He pulled away and set his forehead on mine breathing onto my face as he settled down.
“I’ve wanted to do that ever since I met you.” He chuckled and held my head in his hands.
“Seonghwa, please don’t leave me.” I let my words fly as I let my head fall to his shoulder.
“I could never.” He held me and turned up the radio, hearing the terrible screams of the people that were dying on the spaceship.
After the movie we all waved to each other through the windows and one by one we all pulled away when traffic presented the opportunity. Seonghwa could not stop smiling throughout the drive home and I couldn’t help but watch as he gently bobbed his head along the songs to the radio. The silence felt comforting like something big had happened and we both needed a moment to let it settle in.
“I wanted to thank you for tonight, Seonghwa. I don’t get to do this a lot.” We pulled into my driveway and I instantly felt all the blood drain from my face. My dad was sitting on the porch, a bottle of something hanging from his hand.
“Y/N,” Seonghwas whole mood instantly changed. His voice got quieter and darker, all while watching my dad on the porch lightly sway back and forth. “Don’t go in.” Seonghwas hands were braced on the steering wheel and he didn’t look at me. I watch the side of his face as his eyebrows scrunching in discomfort.
“Seonghwa you don’t understand.” I clicked the seat belt and grabbed the door handle to leave but he grabbed my knee.
“If I let you go in that house right now, are you going to come out?” He finally looked at me and I saw the tears that were threatening to spill from the corner of his eye.
“What are you taking about?” I played dumb. He couldn’t know about my family, nobody knew.
“Y/N, I know what your father does to you and your mother.” He took a breath and squeezed my knee lightly. “My mother told me who you were.” My dad had gotten up from the porch and was waving me inside.
“I can’t stay here. My mother.” I opened the door and let his hand slip from my knee, even if it was the last time I ever got to touch him I had to take that chance for my mother.
“Where have you been?” My dad grabbed the back of my arm and drug me inside, the flesh of my arm already beginning to sting.
“Dad you don’t understand.” I gripped his wrist and tried to alleviate the pain that was steadily getting worse.
“Do you think I’m stupid? I knew that boy dropped you off last night. You didn’t think to tell him to leave you alone? Am I not good enough?” He threw me on the ground and slammed the door. My mom was in the kitchen sobbing over the sink.
“N-No. I told him no but he came anyways.” I put my hands up as he brought his foot down against my side.
“Anything to get away from dear old dad.” He smashed the bottle on the ground and used both of his hands to land punches to my head.
“Derek stop!” My mother ran over and pushed my father onto the ground, part of his leg landing on the broken glass. My mom pulled me away and caressed my face shushing me into a calm state, the tears still running down my face. My dad got up and spit onto the floor.
“You bitch!” He went to charge at me and my mother but the door swung open causing him to stop and look.
“No!” Seonghwa threw his hands around my dads waist, tackling him to the floor. I saw the tussle of bodies and I couldn’t see what was happening beyond the flood of tears. I turned my head into my mothers neck and sobbed as I heard the sound of bones cracking and the sound of flesh against flesh.
“Derek?” My mother called for him and let go of me. I opened my eyes as Seonghwa was sitting on the ground his knuckles bloody and his nose was dripping blood down into his open mouth.
“Seonghwa!” I crawled over to him and held his face in my hands. He was still occupied with my father like he was waiting to see if he would get up and begin the fight again. He was holding his right wrist in his hand flexing it back and forth to see if any damage had been severely done.
“Are you okay?” He stopped looking at my father and turned to me, his expression solemn. It was his turn to hold me head in his hands as he looked at the damage that had been done to my face. It wasn’t much just some minor bruising here and there but it really hurt like a bitch.
“I’m fine,” I took a breath and closed my eyes trying to calm my heart down. “Why did you do that?” I sat back on my heels and let him look at me, his eyes softening and filling with tears.
“I don’t want you here anymore. The police are on their way and they’ll be taking him into custody. I want you and your mom to stay with me for a while. Just until he is put in jail for good.” The words were coming out of his mouth and zooming right over my head. He wanted me to come with with him? The police were on their way? So many things were happening at once so I just nodded.
“Mrs. Y/L/N, can you go pack your stuff please, we’ll be leaving. The police are going to talk to you at my house.” He stood up and took me hand, helping me off the ground with ease. my stomach clenched and I cradled my bruising ribs.
“Okay.” She shakily got up and slowly walked up the stairs, her hands shaking by her sides.
“Why did you do that?” I turned to him as he watched my dad. He looked back, his nose was going off to the right a little and his eyes was beginning to swell shut. The blood was running down his face and accumulating into the alcohol and glass mixture on the ground. His pant legs was torn and he had a big gash on the side of this leg, the glass sticking out in parts. he really wasn’t getting up even if he wanted to.
“Y/N, I thought he was going to kill you.” He didn’t look in my eye, a thing that he did when the situation was serious.
“Seonghwa we would have been fine.” I felt tears prick my eyes again, the trail on my cheek becoming warm again. “You don’t understand what you’ve done. My dad is very powerful and he knows people you can’t even dream of.” My voice got louder and louder the fear in it increasing every second.
“Y/N.” His voice brought a light warning .
“You don’t understand what you’ve done. He’s going to kill you!” I pushed him and beat my fist onto his chest until he caught them in his hands and pulled me close. His hand flew to my hair and gently rubbed soothing circles.
“It’s okay. You don’t have to be afraid, he’s not going to hurt you anymore.” He let me cry into his shoulder and to be honest I really didn’t want to do anything else. I was able to cry and finally be comforted in the night without being told to be quiet or my father might hear.
“He hurt you.” I looked up at his face and grabbed his cheek for comfort. His nose had stopped bleeding and the dried just stuck to his face like a tattoo.
“Listen to me, I don’t care who hurts me or beats me up. He could’ve broken my arm and I would still fight for you.” He pulled away and held my shoulders. “I will protect you.” He pulled me back in and held me once more. Sirens in the background telling everyone that something went down.
“Police!” A man in a dark uniform came in with a pistol, “Search the house!” I let Seonghwa hold me in his arms as they passed around us, going through the house, trying to find anything else to put my dad away. My mother came down the stairs with two bags on her shoulders.
“Can you all please step outside. We’re going to have to do some thorough searches in those bag in case he decided to hide anything in them.” Another police officer came through the door and held out his hand. My mother nodded and handed over the bags without a fuss. Police after police showed up at my door and began searching the house.
“You know their going to bring you to the hospital, right?” Seonghwa put his hand around my shoulder and rubbed my arms.
“We can’t pay for that.” I put my head on his shoulder and shook my head. As if on cue an ambulance pulled up into the driveway, next to all the police cars and pulled out a gurney.
“Don’t fight them please. I don’t wanna have to hold you back.” He laughed and started leading me over the ambulances. Another ambulance pulled up and one of the police officers lead my mother to it, she was limping clinging to the officer.
“You’re Y/N Y/L/N?” They pulled me away from Seonghwa and put me on the gurney, more tears rolling down my cheeks.
According to doctors I’ve made some miraculous recoveries, my body healing my fabulously. I guess this time they could help me. Seonghwas injuries weren’t as severe as mine so they just wiped off his nose and gave him some ibuprofen, telling him to use his right arm as little as possible. His mom was on his way and they were going to take me and my mother home with them. A police officer came in and told me that my father was officially behind bars. He had a broken nose, a broken arm, and a couple of bruised ribs from when Seonghwa tackled him.
“What did the officer say?” I was laying on a crisp white hospital bed, my light blue gown covering everything nicely.
“He told me that I had a nice right hook.” Seonghwa chuckled and pulled the boring brown chair over to the edge of my bed.
“You aren’t getting charged with anything?” I put my hand out and he took it gingerly.
“No. The only one getting charged is your father and I’m making sure he gets put away.” Seonghwa pulled my hand to his mouth kissing each finger before intertwining our hands together.
“And my mother?” I closed my eyes and let the tears well in my eyes. I’ve cried way too much today, over Seonghwa, over my father, and multiple things hitting me at the same time. Today was the day that I let myself feel everything, all the hurt and heartache that me and my mother had to go through.
“She’ll be okay. She still has wounds that need to heal so she’ll be here but you’re coming home with me.” I could hear the smile in his voice and I let the tears fall.
“I love you.” I squeeze his hand and hope that I didn’t scare him off. I couldn’t deal with anything if he left me here. I wasn’t scared of commitment but he may be, most boys were at this age.
“I love you too. And I’ll be here to make sure nothing ever hurts you again.” We sat in the hospital room holding each other until the sun came up and we headed home.
Reality (3) // Colin Ritman X Reader
A/N: Hey loves, I was busy with finals and everything is pain when I tried to edit the original for this and it fucking deleted itself on its own when I tried to edit it. I’m very upset and angry at tumblr for it but I guess I can’t do shit about it so I had to remake it entirely. Yay.
But this did give me a chance to remake this part into something better. It’s not as good as the original part, but it’s what I tried to make close to it. It was 1:00AM when it happened and I was too damn stressed, depressed and reading obsessed to even write it then so I’m writing it as finals are coming in soon. Anyone who loved the original, I am so sorry. You can blame tumblr for it.
REQUESTS ARE CLOSED BTW (FOR NOW)
What seemed like forever, you and Colin made it to his flat building. It was big, definitely a place what someone as rich as Colin could afford. You wondered if he lived alone. Did he have someone living with him? Flat mate? Girlfriend? I hope not, you thought.
You were secretly hoping that he didn't have a girlfriend or wife. You never really heard about anything of Colin having a lover, but it wasn't like you had a chance with Colin. He focused on his video games and your main focus was your game.
The both of you took the lift up to his floor and you continued to follow him as the two of you walked through the halls. You looked down at the floor then over to the windows you passed by. You were on one of the top floors, making a large view of a lot of homes over the building. You weren't the biggest fans of heights, but continued to walk and said nothing anyway.
Upon reaching his flat, Colin grabbed his keys from his pocket and unlocked the door. He tossed his keys onto a side table right by the front door and you trailed from behind him, fidgeting with your sleeves.
Walking fully into the developer's home, you got a good look of the living room of it. It was what you expected, a regular home with styled walls, carpet and long couches.
After taking in the whole place, you noticed a small balcony with a woman with short, frizzled and fiery red hair standing in the middle of it, cradling a small baby. You titled your head in confusion and frowned a bit in disappointment. I guess he does have a lover, you thought to yourself.
Colin walked up to the red haired woman and slowly grabbed the baby from her arms. He bounced her lightly up and down and you almost gushed at the sight. He was so gentle with her, making you adore him even more.
"(Y/n), this is my sister, Kitty." Colin introduced you, not taking his eyes off of his baby girl for a moment. The fiery red head waved at you with a tiny smile on her face.
A wave of relief washed through you. You were mostly glad he wasn't in a relationship, still, your mind continued to persuade you that you had no chance.
"(Y/n) is Stefan's twin sister." Colin informed his sibling. Kitty made a hum noise in response.
"And this is Pearl," his baby, Pearl, reached one of her hands toward Colin. "Daddy's little legacy." Colin slightly smiled at the baby's action.
"(Y/n)'s in the hole, Kit." The blond informed the red head. Kitty nodded understandingly.
"Poor girl. You gonna get her out?" Kitty asked, her arms crossed. You looked down at the ground in a bit of shame.
"Yup."
Colin let Kitty take back Pearl and started to walk into another room. You looked over to Kitty and gave a shy smile, to which she returned. You were about to go follow Colin into the room he went into before you were stopped by the red head herself.
"You like him, don't you?" Kitty asked, a smirk plastered on her face, while yours immediately flushed red.
"W-what? H-How did you..?" You stuttered.
"I won't go all 'protective sister' on you. But just be careful with him, (Y/n)." She told you. You responded with a simple nod and left the room.
You went into the room where Colin entered and found him sitting on a white chair. In the opposite position was a long, curved and black couch. You noticed on one of his computer desks that there was a mug of tea sitting there.
"Grab a pew, love."
You shot your gaze over to him when he called you the nickname, and all he did was smile back at you. You brushed it off and grabbed the mug and sat in the middle of the black couch opposite to him.
You took a few small sips of tea before setting it on the table between the two of you. While you were doing that, Colin took out another cigar roll-up and lit it with a lighter. He took a pew puffs before leaning over and reached it out to you.
"Here." He said.
"O-oh..I haven't really ever..." You stuttered out, embarrassed.
"Come on." Colin pressed a bit.
Hesitantly, you grabbed the cancer stick from his hand, brushing yours lightly against his a bit, causing you to blush slightly. You ignored your feelings and put the cigar between your lips, taking a puff of it. You struggled to keep yourself together and started to cough almost immediately after you took it away from your lips.
"That's alright, love. You'll get the hang of that." Colin says while reaching into a small black box. What was up with him and calling you that?
You finally managed to calm yourself down and looked up to find Colin with his right index finger out to you with a little thin tablet thing on it, something you've never seen before.
"You want it?" He asked you.
"What-what is it?" You questioned him.
"It lets you see the bigger picture." He nodded towards it.
"I-I...I don't know..." You didn't know if you wanted it or not. You wanted help but you didn't know if having a strange thing you've never taken before was the best way.
"It'll help you understand." Colin explained.
"Do you want it? It's your choice." He asked you, once more.
Yes // No
"Y-yes." Shaking a bit, you grabbed the tablet from his middle finger and stared at it.
"Just watch me, darling." Your gaze followed back up to Colin and you watched at he moved his fingers beside his head, one which held his own thin tablet on his index finger, then opened his mouth wide and stuck his tongue to put the tablet onto it.
He closed his mouth and took the tablet with ease. Anxiously, you looked at him before opening your mouth to take your own. The tablet left a....strange taste in your mouth but you sucked it up and took it anyway.
"Now what?" You asked. He smiled.
"We wait."
Colin them stood up and walking behind the couch you were sitting on. He went over to a turntable and inserted a record. Once the needle hit the disc, music started to play softly throughout the room.
He sat back down onto his white chair and the two of you stared at each other before the drugs started to finally take effect. The posters on the walls began to move and the light hitting Colin's face flowed brighter in different colors.
"I think...I think it's working." Your mouth started to form into a large grin and you began laughing randomly.
"Don't worry, love. It gets better." Colin's face transformed into a wide smile once he heard you laughing. It was strange how it attracted him, your laugh wasn't like a high pitched girly laugh but it sounded like the laughs that Colin would hear from Stefan.
A few minutes later, you were touching a painting on the wall that looked like it was mixing in with water. Every time you touched the painted or blew on it, the painting would move and the colors of the painting would combine.
To say you were having a blast was not even close to what you were feeling. The stress and anxiety weighing on your shoulders took off and you felt like you were having fun. Then again, you were high.
"People think there's one reality, but there's loads of them, all snaking off like roots. And what we do on one path affects the others." You turned over to Colin and saw his expression was serious, almost like he was positive about what he was saying.
You sat on the black couch and started to stare at your hands. Every time you moved them, trails of colorful lines followed them, making you giggle to yourself. You continued waving your hands as Colin sat on the couch with you and ranted.
"There's messages in every game. Like PAC Man! You know what PAC stands for?" Suddenly, Colin stood up and paced back and forth.
"P-A-C. Program and Control. He's program and control man." Colin ranted and told you all about the 'real' world of PAC Man.
"It's all code. If you listen carefully, you can hear the numbers." Colin said, his forehead rested against his balcony glass door. You were now standing up, looking around the door and wobbling a bit. He turned over to you and continued.
"There's a cosmic flowchart that dictates where you can and can't go." All of sudden, Colin took off his glasses and grabbed your face in his hands.
You laughed at him, still in your high state. You grabbed his face as well and stared into his blue eyes. You caressed his cheeks and fought the urge to kiss him right there. Even if you did kiss him, there would be no chance he remembered it, right?
"Your eyes are so pretty." You stated. Colin said nothing but you saw the corners of his mouth rise a bit.
"I've given you the knowledge. I've set you free. Do you understand?" The blond asked. His eyes began to grow in size to you, probably because of your state. It startled you for a moment before you answered him.
"Yes...maybe...I don't know." You giggled. Your mind was making everything seem so fuzzy to you that you barely comprehended his question.
"I'll show you what I mean. Come with me, love." He let go of your face and opened his glass balcony door. Colin walked out and you followed from behind.
He stood on the right side of the balcony while you stood on the left, looking over the ledge in a bit of fear.
Stay still // Grab Colin's wrist
You grabbed onto Colin's wrist, as if it was an instinct or impulse that caused you to. You gripped his wrist tightly in order to comfort yourself from the view.
"We're on one path right now, you and me. And how one path ends is immaterial. It's how our decisions along the path the whole that matters. Do you believe me?" Your gaze switched over to him.
"I-I don't know..." You responded, still smiling despite the situation.
"I'll prove it. One of us, is going over. Over there." The game developer pointed his arm over the ledge and your eyes widened, your smile dropping. With a sharp turn of your head, you gazed at him with searing fear in your eyes.
"No-no no no! Y-You'll die! You'll die!" You cried out.
"It wouldn't matter because there are other timelines, (Y/n)!" Colin said, as if it was a matter of fact. Your heart was doing flips and you began to feel sick to the stomach.
"Dammit Colin, when I asked for help I didn't mean this! I don't wanna do this." You practically begged him.
"Love, how many times have you watched PAC Man die? Doesn't bother him." He shrugged, as if it fixed the whole situation. "He just tries again."
"C-Colin..."
"One of us is jumping. So who's it gonna be?"
Your mind and mouth both contemplated your next words.
"It's a nice breeze up here." Colin said, trying to lighten the mood a bit.
"Come on, love. Which one of us is jumping?" He asked once more.
(Y/n) // Colin
"I'll do it." You decided.
"I like your style. Are you sure, love?" Colin smirked before checking with you.
"Y-Yes." You stuttered a bit. Finally realizing what choice you made, you forced yourself onto the ledge of the balcony, almost falling over in the process.
You gasped out in surprise but never the less, started to laugh incoherently. Colin watched as you pushed yourself up and his mind started to sober up, but not enough to make him realize what was going on.
"Colin." You turned towards him and grabbed onto the collar of his shirt.
"Yes, (Y/n)?" He stared into your (e/c) eyes.
Kiss him // Say goodbye
"Kiss me before I jump."
-x-x-x-
"Hello, Kitty."
"Hello, Stefan! Are you here for (Y/n)?" Kitty asked.
"No, actually. I'm here to ask something from Colin. But (Y/n) is here?" Stefan questioned, his brow furrowed.
"Yeah. He's getting her out of the hole." Stefan froze. He knew of Colin's ways of helping people out of the hole. They weren't exactly good ways.
"Where are they?"
-x-x-x-
"Kiss me before I jump." You asked of him, still hanging on the ledge but not bothering to look away from his eyes that glowed in the light.
"Sure thing."
You leaned down and pressed your lips against Colin's own and closed your eyes. You tilted your head for easier access for Colin and he found himself easing into the kiss as well, putting his right hand on your cheek to pull you closer to him. Your lips fit together almost perfectly, as if they were made for each other. Finally, you unwillingly pulled away from the sweet kiss and looked into his blue eyes.
"See you in the next reality." You grinned at him. He returned it.
"In the next reality."
You let go of the ledge and leaped over it to fall your way to your death. Colin watched as your body landed on top of a large crate, blood spilling out from your body. You killed yourself for the man who had taken your heart.
The sound of your body hitting the bottom sobered Colin up completely. He glanced at your body on top of the crate and stared at it. No other emotion shown on his face but sadness and regret.
Just then, the sound of slow footsteps from behind him caused him to look up, but not at the person.
"Colin. Where is my sister?"
...
...
"Colin what did you do?!
September 1987
Darling you got to let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
A small chuckle escaped from Bill's lips as he watched the girl dance goofily in front of him as she mouthed the words of her favorite song to him. Y/N's e/c eyes sparkled as they stared at him and a hint of a smile appeared on her face as she mouthed the next set of words.
If you say that you are mine
I'll be here 'til the end of time.
Using the straw in her drink as a microphone, Y/N got up from her seat and slid across the floor and over to where Bill was, making the boy laugh as he watched her in both adoration and amusement.
So you got to let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
"I think you should go home," Richie called out as he spared a glance in Y/N's direction before looking back at the arcade game him, Eddie, Mike, and Stan were currently trying to beat. "You two make me sick and I'm not going to be able to fucking beat this game if you two keep up the gross couple shit."
"We're not a-" Y/N quickly began to say at the same time Bill stuttered out, "M-m-me and h-h-her?"
Richie rolled his eyes and locked eyes with Eddie, the two shaking their heads at their friends who were so oblivious it hurt. It was no surprise that Bill liked the girl as much as he did, in fact, the Losers' Club was pretty sure he might even be in love with her at this point. The only one they weren't sure about was Y/N, but from the way she acted around him, they were pretty sure she felt the same.
"Richie, leave them alone. I think they're cute," Beverly said as she winked at Y/N, the girl blushing in response.
"Of course you do. Why am I not surprised?" Richie asked. "I think it has something to do with the fact that you and Ben are dating now. You're still in the 'I love Ben and everything that has to do with love' phase of the relationship."
Beverly sent a glare in his direction which only made Richie smirk before he asked, "Where is lover boy? He was supposed to be here tonight."
Deciding she had better things to do than argue with Richie, Beverly went to grab another quarter from her cup of change and didn't look at the boy as she said, "He had some big research project he wanted to do. I think he's still trying to research Hawkins cause of how weird it is."
"Hawkins? Ain't nothing weird about that town and you all know it. There's no way the shit Y/N says is true. No way!" Richie exclaimed. He then seemed to realize what he said and looked to Y/N. "No offense, Y/N. You know I love you like a sister, but come on. There's no way Hawkins is that weird."
"It is, Tozier, and I know that you know I'm right. Besides, a killer clown that can change into your worst fears? That sounds like a load of bullshit to me," Y/N said.
"Can we go a night without the two of you arguing, please?" Stan asked with a small sigh as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "It's a Sunday night and we have school in the morning. All I want to do is have some fun without the two of you arguing about whose story is more believable."
"Stan's right. This argument has been going on for two whole years now. You are both seventeen and about to be adults in a couple of months. Just let the topic go," Mike told them.
Richie frowned and went to open his mouth, but Eddie, without even glancing at the boy, muttered, "Beep beep, Richie."
"But I haven't even-"
"Beep beep!"
Richie let out a huff and slumped against the game console as he turned his attention back to Eddie who was only two hundred points away from beating the high score of the PAC-MAN game in the arcade.
Bill tore his gaze away from his friends and looked over at Y/N who was staring off into space with her shoulders slumped ever so slightly. He knew it had to do with the fact that they had mentioned Hawkins, seeing as this always happened when the topic came up. Not a day went by where she didn't miss her friends and the fact that she hadn't seen them in two years was hard for her which Bill knew.
The boy didn't hesitate before getting up from his seat at the table the two had just been eating pizza at before gently taking her hand in his. Y/N let her eyes flicker up to lock with his and he gave her a tiny smile before tugging her hand softly and pulling her over to the closest game, Dig Dug.
"I don't have any-" Y/N began, but Bill cut her off by pulling some quarters out of his pocket and holding it out to her.
He gave her that cute smile of his before saying, "I b-b-brought some for y-y-you just in c-c-case."
Y/N gave him a soft smile in return before he dropped the coins into her hands. "Thank you," she whispered before turning to the game and putting some of the change in. Bill silently observed her as she began to play the game and a grin appeared on her face as he watched her relax and get lost in the game.
And the moment she won and turned to him before throwing her arms around his neck and letting out a loud laugh was the moment Bill was once again reminded of just how much he liked her.
Y/N pulled away from the hug ever so slightly, but kept her arms around his neck as she looked up at him. Bill's arms were around her waist and his breath hitched in his throat for a moment, but their moment was quickly ruined by the sound of Richie fake gagging.
"Ew! Guys, they're doing that gross couple shit again!"
"Richie, I swear to god!" Y/N yelled before suddenly breaking away from Bill and running after her friend. Richie let out a high pitched scream before bolting out of the arcade with Y/N on his heels.
Beverly snorted before saying, "We should probably stop her."
"W-w-where's the fun in t-t-that?"
- - -
"How can you say some weird alien shit is more believable than a killer clown?" Richie asked, his eyes wide as he looked to his friend in disbelief.
Y/N kicked the small rock next to her feet and watched it skip across the path ahead as she walked home with the rest of the Losers' Club, minus Ben, behind her. She glanced at the boy that looked so much like her friend from home and shrugged, "Cause my story is more believable."
"You are literally talking about the idea of a whole other world existing! One where everything we know is covered in decay and has monsters running around killing people!" Richie exclaimed.
"And you keep telling me that some clown can take the form of your greatest fear and has a mouth that opens up like a fucking shark and eats people! Not to mention that apparently its victims can float in the air? Do you know how ridiculous that sounds?" Y/N asked.
"Obviously not as ridiculous as this conversation," Eddie muttered under his breath, but everyone could hear it. Bill, Beverly, Mike, and Stan let out small chuckles while Y/N and Richie glared at their friend.
"Eds, sometimes you really make me question why we're friends," Richie said with a shake of his head.
"Oh shut up," Eddie told him as he grabbed the boy's shoulder and began to push him in the direction of their houses. "Come on. Our houses are this way. And don't call me Eds."
"Sorry, Eddie Spaghetti."
Eddie rolled his eyes and turned back to his friends before waving slightly. "Night, guys. See you tomorrow," he said.
"Bye, Eddie. Bye, Richie," Y/N called out, the others following suit as they watched the two boys walk off, purposely bumping into each other as they did.
They didn't walk much longer before Beverly, Mike, and Stan had to split off as well. That left only Y/N and Bill. The two were silent as they walked back, but it was a comfortable silence filled with their small laughter as they nudged each other and snuck small glances at the other when they weren't paying attention.
Y/N's smile only faltered when she saw the road that Bill's house was on. Their houses were a few streets away from each other, so Y/N always ended up having to walk alone for a while before she even got home. In hindsight, she could've borrowed her mother's car and drove herself to the arcade and back. However, if she was being honest, the only reason she didn't do just that was because she liked getting to walk with Bill, even if it was only for a few minutes.
The two paused at the end of Bill's street and Y/N turned to look at the boy as she gave him a soft smile. "Well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow," she said as she looked down at her feet.
Bill stared at her in silence for a moment, his heart fluttering when she looked up at him through her eyelashes with that smile of hers on her face. With a sudden burst of courage, Bill said, "A-a-actually, I was w-w-wondering if. . .if I could w-w-walk you h-h-home?"
Y/N blinked in surprise and for a moment Bill felt his blood run cold, the fear of rejection washing over him almost instantly. But then she was smiling an even brighter smile than before and Bill swore her cheeks had even grown a tinge redder.
"I'd like that," Y/N told him, making the boy return her grin.
The two began to walk forward and Y/N effortlessly slipped her hand into Bill's before intertwining their fingers together. Bill's face reddened and he couldn't stop the smile that was growing on his face as he ever so slightly pulled her closer to his body, his hand tightening around hers.
A beat of silence fell over them before Bill looked at the girl curiously and asked, "So y-y-you really don't b-b-believe our story about I-I-It?"
Y/N looked up at the boy and gave him a look of disbelief before saying, "Of course I do. A psycho clown is nothing compared to the horrors I've witnessed. I just like to poke fun at Richie is all."
Bill let out a small breath of relief that he hadn't known he was holding. Something about knowing that Y/N believed him and didn't think he was crazy made it feel like a weight had been taken off of his shoulders.
"What about you?" Y/N questioned causing the boy to look over at her. "Do you believe my story?"
He could see the way she was trying to act like the answer wouldn't bother her, but he could also see the way she was nervously biting her lips and the way her hold on his hand tightened ever so slightly.
"I-I-It is kind of c-c-crazy," Bill muttered causing the girl's smile to drop. But then he was lightly squeezing her hand and saying, "I b-b-believe you."
Y/N's head whipped up so fast that Bill almost didn't see the movement. "You do?" She asked surprised.
"Of c-c-course. You said it, s-s-so of course I d-d-do," Bill said, his cheeks dusted a light pink as he said that.
Y/N smiled and leaned into Bill's arm, making sure to keep her hand latched with his while her other arm looped around his. She then laid her head against his shoulder and shivered slightly from the cold.
Bill didn't even hesitate before letting go of the girl and taking his jacket off. Y/N went to protest, but Bill cut her off with that smile of his as he wrapped the jacket around her shoulders. Then, before he could stop himself, he wrapped his arm around the girl and began to rub his hand up and down her arm as he held her close to his body.
Both teens blushed and looked away from each other as they walked, but Y/N still snuck a glance in Bill's direction, a goofy grin on her face as she looked at him.
The rest of the walk ended up being a lot shorter than either of them would've liked. Before they knew it, they were standing on the front porch of Y/N's house as both of them just stood there staring at each other.
Y/N broke their gaze by looking down at her feet as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, "Thanks for walking me home."
"N-n-no problem. I-I-I guess I'll see y-y-you at school," Bill said, his eyes flickering over her face and hesitating for just a moment on her lips.
Y/N looked up at the boy and he was quick to divert his attention back to her eyes. "Yeah, I'll see you then," she confirmed with a smile. She then let out a small gasp before beginning to take off the jacket, "Your-"
Bill's hands resting on hers had her instantly freeze as she looked up at him. He gave her an effortless smile and shrugged before saying, "You c-c-can give it back to m-m-me some other t-t-time. It looks better o-o-on you anyways."
Y/N blushed at that and let the jacket fall back onto her person as she stared at the boy in front of her. The two were silent before Bill finally whispered out, "G-G-Goodnight, Y/N."
A smile broke out on her face before Y/N pushed herself up onto her tiptoes and pressed a small kiss to Bill's cheek. "Goodnight, Bill," she whispered back, a small chuckle escaping her lips at the sight of how red his cheeks were.
She pulled away and sent one more smile in Bill's direction before turning and walking to her front door. Bill didn't move from his spot until the girl was inside and it was only then that he let himself stumble back in a daze as a goofy grin appeared on his face.
The small flickering of the street light had him furrowing his eyebrows, but the light quickly went back to normal and Bill thought nothing more of it. He then began to walk home with a small skip in his step, his thoughts consumed with the beauty that was Y/N L/N.
A sigh of relief left Mike Hanlon's lips as he caught sight of his bike resting against the alley wall. The others had all met him in that alley before walking to the arcade together, so Mike had left his bike there for later. Thankfully, he had hidden it well enough behind some garbage cans and wooden crates that no one had stolen it. Finally, he could bike home instead of walking.
The bike ride home wasn't too bad, but it was only when he turned onto Neibolt Street that things turned for the worst. Mike always did hate riding past the Well House, the memories just too much for him, but something always had him riding past. It was like a force that made him want to make sure everything was still the way it was supposed to be, that nothing was out of place. . .that It wasn't back.
Mike could see the Well House coming up on his right and he had to take a second just to calm his breathing. "Nothing's going to happen. You're going to be fine," Mike assured himself, those words enough to make him put on his confident look and pedal down the street.
He only took his eyes off the road when he was biking past the Well House, but that was his first mistake. His second mistake was not noticing the flickering of the street lights which seemed to all be flickering in the same sort of pattern.
When he was past the house, Mike let out a small chuckle at himself for even being afraid and turned back to look at the street. His eyes widened when he saw a figure in front of him and he quickly stopped his bike.
An eerie silence fell on the street at that moment and Mike squinted his eyes as he tried to see what was standing only a little ways away from him. The streetlights flickered a few more times before suddenly all turning on, the brightness of the lights so intense that Mike stumbled back a little in surprise.
He had to adjust his vision a little and blinked a few times before looking up, his eyes locking on the figure in front of him. He didn't know what to think when he registered the figure as something he had heard Y/N talk about many times before.
Mike couldn't help but notice that everything she had said, every little detail, was correct. Even the sound she described was exactly the same and Mike found himself shivering as the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end.
The creature, the demogorgon, let out an eerie sound before its face began to open up in a way that looked a lot like Pennywise. Shaking his head, Mike quickly turned his bike around and was about to bike away when he noticed another demogorgon had come up behind him.
Both demogorgons were only ten feet away in each direction, but they were blocking his only means of escape. "Shit," Mike muttered. It was in that moment that Mike made his third and final mistake of the night.
Mike ditched his bike on the edge of the street and ran towards the Well House with the demogorgons hot on his trail. He didn't necessarily have a destination in mind, so Mike just did whatever the first thought to pop in his head was and began to run up the stairs.
He could hear the demogorgons growling and making that weird sound of theirs as they stumbled up the stairs after him, the two running and bumping into each other as they tried to reach out for the boy.
Mike's own breathing was all he could hear as he ran down a few hallways, trying to find some place to go. However, he made one wrong turn and was suddenly trapped in a hallway that had a single door at the end. The demogorgons were right behind him and he knew that if he ran in that direction, he would be dead for sure.
So Mike did the only thing he could think of and ran down the hallway and into the room. He slammed the door shut behind him and locked the door before turning around to see that he was in some sort of coat closet.
He heard the cries of the demogorgons and jumped slightly before beginning to back up, the coats covering him the further back he went. There was only one lightbulb in the room so Mike had enough light to be able to see where he was going, but he had barely even made it halfway into the closet before the lights flickered off and the demogorgons suddenly went quiet.
This caused the boy to stop cold and all he could hear was the pounding in his ears and his ragged breaths as sweat trickled down his face. Something suddenly clamped over his mouth and Mike's eyes widened once he recognized it as someone's hand.
An eerily familiar laugh filled the air before a voice whispered into his ear, "Hello, Mike."
He didn't want to look back, but his eyes betrayed him. As soon as Mike's eyes locked on the person holding onto him, he let out a scream that was muffled by the hand over his mouth.
Laughter filled the air as Mike desperately tried to escape, his hands clawing at the person holding onto him. The light in the closet turned back on before beginning to flicker on and off while the laughter and screaming grew louder.
But then there was nothing. The light flickered back on before staying on, illuminating the now quiet and completely empty room.
The only sign of Mike having ever been at the Well House being his bike that was lying on the ground outside with one wheel slowly turning in the wind.
Y/N let out a small sigh as she pulled Bill's jacket closer to her body. The wind roared all around her as she walked and she looked up at the sky in annoyance as she realized a storm was about to come their way.
It amazed her how only an hour before, when Bill had dropped her off at home, there had been no traces of clouds in the sky. But the force of the wind was enough to give her an answer as to how it had appeared so quickly.
With one hand holding onto Bill's jacket and the other carrying the trash bag her parents had asked to to take outside, Y/N began to make her way down the stairs and over to the trash can on the edge of the curb.
A flash of lightning from a little ways away lit up the sky and the sprinkling of rain began to fall down on the girl making her mutter out, "Shit."
She was quick to pull the lid to the trash can off before tossing the bag inside and returning the lid to its rightful place. Y/N then hugged Bill's jacket close to her body while the wind blew her hair in all directions.
The girl was just about to head back towards the house when a sound came from the bushes across the street. Y/N froze, the hair on the back of her neck standing on end as she slowly looked over to the bush that was moving around.
All she wanted was for the bush to be moving because of the wind, but when something began to step out from the bush, she knew just how wrong she was. Y/N could barely make out what the figure was, but the sound it made was too horrific for her to forget.
It was the same sound she only ever heard in her nightmares, but had used to be something she heard back in Hawkins. A sound that made her blood run cold, her face pale, and her heart race so fast that she felt like it was jumping out of her chest.
Then the lightning flashed and a scream escaped her lips at the sight of a demogorgon standing before her with its mouth opening up.
Y/N broke out into a sprint towards the front door and was quick to slam the door shut behind her. With shaking fingers, Y/N locked the door while the lights in her house flickered crazily all around her. Tears were in her eyes as she took a step back from the door, her breathing heavy while her whole body shook uncontrollably.
Images of the upside down, of Will looking half dead, of Bob being attacked by a demodog, of the Mind-Flayer killing Billy all flashed before her eyes and a whimper escaped her lips as she tried desperately not to break down into a sob.
The girl shook as she walked over to the window of her house and it took her a minute to muster enough courage to open up the blinds enough for her to look outside. The lights still flickered all around her and she could hear the wind roaring outside, but the sound of the demogorgon had disappeared and she didn't know whether to be relieved or worried.
Y/N took in a shaky breath before looking through the blinds. Her breath hitched in her throat at the sight before her, surprise and fear coursing through her veins.
Instead of the demogorgon, a person holding three balloons in front of its face stood in its spot. As if sensing her gaze, the balloons began to float up as the person moved them away from its face. It was in that moment that Y/N finally saw the clown that Richie had been telling her about.
Y/N's breathing was out of control and it felt like the lights were flickering at an even more intense speed than before. She watched as the clown who Beverly had told her was named Pennywise, let out a loud laugh, its eyes trained on the girl as he waved at her.
The lights outside flickered out longer than usual, but as soon as they came back on, Pennywise had moved closer, now standing in the middle of the street with the demogorgon from earlier right behind him.
Y/N barely had time to blink before the clown was suddenly on the other side of the window with the demogorgon by its side, both of them opening their mouths to reveal rows of teeth that looked to be covered in something red that shined in the light—blood. A ear piercing scream left her lips and Y/N stumbled back right as the lights flickered on and off again.
"Y/N?" her father's panicked voice exclaimed as he came running into the room, the lights instantly returning to normal as soon as he walked in.
His eyes frantically searched around the room and he caught sight of his seventeen year old daughter hugging her knees with tears streaming down her face. "Y/N?" He asked again, confusion lacing his voice as he hesitantly walked towards his daughter.
The girl glanced up at him, but it was like she looked right through him as she got up onto her feet and went over to the window. She looked outside and her breath hitched in her throat. Her father furrowed his eyebrows and quickly moved across the room to look outside only to see that there was an empty road.
"I-" Y/N whispered before falling short, not knowing what to say.
It and the demogorgon were gone, but there was no way she could've imagined that. No way.
"Y/N, honey, are you okay?" her father asked as he looked at her with concern filled eyes.
"I'm. . .I'm fine. J-J-Just thought I saw something is all," Y/N muttered, her voice shaky as she looked anywhere but at her father. "I'm. . .I'm going to go to bed."
She didn't give her father time to respond before she was rushing out of the room and up the stairs. Y/N reached her room within a matter of seconds and was quick to close her bedroom door before turning and letting a quiet sob escape her lips.
"What the fuck was that?" Y/N whispered to herself, her fingers gripping onto her hair as she tried to think of an explanation. The Party had closed the gate and the Losers' Club had stopped Pennywise. So how-?
Y/N shook her her head, not wanting to think too much about what had happened. "You're just tired," Y/N told herself as she forced herself to start getting ready for bed. "Your mind is playing tricks on you. You just need some sleep is all."
She changed into her pajamas and brushed her teeth in silence before she stared at herself in the mirror. The fright was still evident on her face and she took in a shaky breath before whispering, "The gate is closed. It is dead. The gate is closed. It is dead."
The words were enough to make her release her iron grip on her bathroom counter and she whispered again, "The gate is close. It is dead." Y/N made her way over to her bed and hesitated when she saw Bill's jacket lying on her desk chair.
She quickly grabbed it and put it on, wrapping the article around her body and inhaling Bill's scent. She felt safe wearing the jacket, so she kept it on and climbed into bed.
Y/N was about to turn off the light when she decided one night with it on couldn't hurt. She then laid down and hugged the jacket close to her body as she muttered to herself, "The gate is closed. It is dead."
She would end up saying those two sentences until she fell asleep, but each time she would find herself believing the statement less and less.
"The gate is closed."
"It is dead."
