gotta say, pretty much everyone who left a poor review on the tsuranga conundrum on imdb (the episode has an alien dude who's heavily pregnant, treated serously by the story) would not survive hanging out with aliens at an outer space bar, and would not survive diplomacy with any alien race. they can stay home while we go out and dance greet the universe, okay? okay.
#doctor who#like I'm not much one for dancing but we need at least SOME diplomats/explorers/etc who won't get distracted that particular way#and I'm placing myself ahead of those reviewers in the queue just on principle.#(for clarity ''dancing'' is a nine-era euphemism#the first time we meet jack we're told he's from an era where the human race got out into the rest of the universe and. well. danced#I find the term sweet but maybe that's just 'cos it recontextualises it for my asexual ass. anyway.)#I really enjoyed this ep - enough to sit up and pay attention and start really appreciating the writer - and was baffled by the low rating#and yeah okay I'd slightly forgotten the impact a serious and tender male pregnancy and birth scene would have on the average brit#those reviewers are just really new to sci-fi bless them (with a brick)#falderal speaks#shout out also to the reviewer who forgot that it's a british show and thought it was unreasonable for it to reference call the m1dwife#they actually said the writer must watch pbs. the US broadcasting service. because otherwise how would they even know about it.#I'm taking the reviewer by the shoulders and gently guiding them to a chair. sir. we need to have a chat.
