I'm two episodes into the new ATLA show and I literally love it oh my gosh skjdfhakdsf

I'm really not the biggest fan of season 1 of the original show so this is honestly a massive step up for me I'm incredibly impressed

M. Night Shyamalan better be taking some serious frickin notes here like this is how you adapt a show hooooly cow

listen i am SOOOO disappointed in the bucanneers like the aesthetic is lovely but everything else.....confusing to say the least. but i AM weak to two things. period pieces and lesbians. so i LOVE my period lesbians. mabel was literally the best part of the show. you know it's about the YEARNING. the heated touches. all those pent up repressed desires. yummy. anyway I agree. gojo is old old money part of a family that actually still has money unlike a lot of other titled families that are near destitute. geto new money with all the extravagance it comes with. sashisu either childhood friends OR they meet later in school and are (as always) inseparable. nobody even bats an eye even though they're definitely fucking. it's a man's world! the two of them are just friends! anyway shoko is a lesbian and her parents are too worried bc she's too friendly with all the maids. spoiler she's eating them out. anyway. Idk what ripmc's role would be. middle class maybe? or shoko's maid. YOU KNOW that poem about that maid wearing her mistress's pearl necklace to warm it for her....um...not to make everything sapphic but that's them. a-anyway....yeah poly stsg ripmc is going to end up a very rice person. all those extravagant beautiful dresses always ending up on the floor...

worked a post-modern jukebox concert tonight. i forgot how much i loved their stuff.

#i literally had to stop myself from going insane over the lighting design of this concert #i forget how much taking a class directs your focus.#this show was soooo good though #wonderful performers that had such great energy #just. very very nice to see #i unfortunately was working in the mezz so these arent as good photos as id like #but itll do for how far away i was.#i also appreciate their costume designer. the ladies performing tonight were wearing gorgeous dresses #one of them was in a very sparkly gown that when hit with a colored light just freaking *shone* magnificently.#just an overall wonderful show.#if i had any other soc media id share these per their preshow speech #but um.#this is a band that i dont see using tumblr.#that and the blog i did find. hasnt posted since 2016 #if i were to tag them itd be for shit and giggles only.#post-modern jukebox

Not to be an absolute hater, but I will never watch Bridgerton again no matter how good it gets in the latter seasons. Season one had the main character commit spousal rape against the love interest and then just swept it under the rug. That's a one-and-done storytelling mistake for me.

#I understand that I'm a one-woman boycott but I do not care.#The plot is intriguing the costumes and set are gorgeous the music is well done.#But it just left too much of a bitter taste in my mouth.#I understand that “in context” she didn't fully understand what she was doing or how bad it was. And yes real history is messy.#But this isn't a particularly authentic or realistic historical show.#And it did not advertise itself as being a gritty historical drama capable of exploring such a messy topic.#It advertised itself as a fun vaguely-historical romcom romp in a quasi-regency setting.#And in THAT context—what it actually did was normalize the idea that when women assault their husbands it's “not that bad.”#Which: yes! It is!#tw rape mention #tw assault #tw sex abuse #tw marital abuse
