HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY DEATH STRANDING!!!

Man, I can't believe it's been THIS long. This little game permanently changed something in my brain- I don't think I've ever sunken into a game for so long and with so much intensity. It's such a beautiful work of art about connections with some of the most beautiful, clever, and inventive imagery and concepts ("Spirits are drawn to the Beach to cross through the afterlife because life evolved from the ocean, so it's natural that it wants to return there after death"??? HELLO?????)... I clinged to this game and universe when I was at some of my lowest, I celebrated my successes with friends I've made thanks to it, nourished my creativity and honed my writing skills with it... It actually motivated me to come back to writing after literal YEARS of not doing so, can you believe that?

So yeah. Happy birthday DS- enjoy your official plate of black slop and cryptobiote dessert, because you've earned it. I'm waiting for DS2 and can barely take it, but I will never forget about this amazing work of art and how much it meant to my mind and soul in a very tough time of my life.
