Conservatives will claim that they don't hate women and queer people but will lambast their opposition and critics with insults and jeers that are clearly using femininity and being queer as a weapon because they truly see those traits as demeaning and things to be ashamed of. I kinda wish that they'd just be honest bigots and say their bigotry with their whole chest instead of gish galloping when confronted about it.

#I'm talking about canadian conservatives but this definitely applies to other groups of conservatives #tbh justin trudeau isn't all that feminine but you'd think he's a fem twink with the way conservatives talk about him #hes not feminine at all imo but he certainly doesn't fit into their narrow and toxic definition of what a man should be #conservatives are cowards #i stand by that wholeheartedly #conservatives can die mad at me all they want #tbh I'd much rather someone be very open about their hatred of women and queers because it makes them easier to avoid #the bigots who lie and try to hide their bigotry with niceties the way conservatives do are arguably more dangerous
