YES, the time has come for me to give a member of fearsome gang an offspring, because of course parenthood is something reckless egocentric criminals are good at!

Falling Cards Paradise within Reach Pages 111-125
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm still debating on if I wanna do a "Falling Cards director's commentary" style thing like FSR rambles and Creations but obnoxiously explained but here's a few things I just wanna say for now, more under the cut:
...People on Webtoon never got Bat was an angel and I will never forgive them for expecting me to spell that out when it's so damn obvious.
So no btw it is not explained in the text as of rn and there's 300+ pages lmfao. It was meant to be OBVIOUS which is why I have not been shy about calling him an angel while posting here.
Ball is dense and ignorant about Paradise and by extension Bat here, that's the joke. Ball isn't knowledgeable about things he reasonably has no clue about as a random dead dude in PURGATORY.
Ball's "Lovely thought process" is supposed to get a laugh out of you about how SILLY it is, and Bat's CLEAR and strong OFFENSE to this line of thought is meant to be funny, as Paul ignores him and keeps talking.
Paul further doesn't fully get Bat brought him to a fucking love hotel which is just further funny, because Ball, is kinda dense.
But considering people on Webtoon genuinely gasped and said "HIS NAME IS PAUL!?" every single time Paul's real name was said, I'm not surprised they never got Bat was an angel.
You can call him Paul or Ball btw both work.
Sorry about being negative this shit just frustrated me for 2+ years and I'm letting that all out now lmfao.
If you're curious about Ball's age, I picture him around 20-40 age wise. His age is confusing because he was a human for 22ish years and has been a doll for 20. HOWEVER his human memories are muddy and that's expanded upon later. Soooo, I just joke he's a 40 year old man for simplicity but he doesn't always act that old for a reason.
Also getting carded for shit is just smth I relate to as someone with a baby face. Another thing that pissed me off that I got reminded of here and if you're an artist this will probably infuriate you too:
Someone genuinely tried to argue with me, HIS CREATOR Bat doesn't have bones. Example number 1 why you should never argue with me about characters you didn't write and I literally made:
He outright conforms he HAS bones and can feel them...
Right here.
You can go back and read shit if you are ever confused about these characters. Like, that's an option. Instead of arguing with me about YOUR ignorance.
I've retconned some stuff but like...He literally always HAD bones. HE HAS ONE IN HIS NECK THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT LATER WHAT KIND OF DRUGS DO YOU GOTTA BE ON TO TRY AND GASLIGHT THE CREATOR ABOUT THEIR OWN CREATION?
All the retcons have been about stuff that literally you would never notice as it wasn't STATED yet or was lose enough as an end I could change it and it would be impossible to tell btw...lmao.

Song: My Girl by Elvie Shane
Tumblr media
She don't got my smile, that don't bother me a bit, got somebody else's eyes I'm seeing myself in
You padded through the house, your step dad directly behind you chasing you around trying to tickle you, your only 5 years old.
"Chrissy stop it!" You whined running faster to get away from him.
"No!" He said chuckling as he picked you up and began to tickle you. You smiled, he loves your smile.
"Stop please!" You whined through laughs. He chuckles and stops but brings you into a big bear hug.
"I'm home!" Your mom announces you pull away from Chris and hurry to the door.
I'm holding on to every moment god knows I missed a few. The day we met I knew we had some catching up to do.
You hid behind your mom's leg at 4 years old only peaking out once and a while to see a man standing there. He kneeled down to your height and smiled.
"Hi there peanut I'm Chris."
"I'm y/n!" You said stepping from behind her legs. "Mr. Chris... Can you push me on the swings." You asked.
"Sure kiddo." Chris nods. He has a feeling that he's gonna have a hard time saying no to you.
She ain't my blood, ain't got my name but if she did I'd feel the same.
You sat at the table your parents had big news to tell you. You were 10, Chris had became your dad, not legally but that didn't matter. "What?" You asked the two giddy adults in front of you.
"Your gonna be a big sister!" Chris said. You felt like your heart stopped. You weren't Chris' "real" kid, they were replacing you with a new baby. The pair noticed you worried expression and Chris was quick to asked. "Peanut? You okay? What wrong?"
"Are you replacing me... cause I'm not really your kid?" You asked.
"No bubba!" He sighed going around the table to hug you, your mom was frowning. "No one could replace my little girl."
"Really?"
"Of course. Not even the baby."
I wasn't there for her first steps but I ain't missed a ball game yet, and that ain't gonna change I could never walk away yeah she's my baby, my whole world she ain't my blood but she's my girl
You sat on the bench staring at the bleachers, it was the last game of the season, you only saw three people you recognized, your mom, Chris, and Scott, you had invited your biological dad but the game was almost over and he still wasn't there.
You were called up to bat, you played baseball. Little 9 year old you went to the plate holding your bat high as the ball was pitched to you. You hit it and ran making it home.
"Woohoo!! That's my girl!!" You heard Chris yell from the stands. He was there for every game while your biological dad didn't make it to a single one.
Your first-grade teacher told everyone to draw a picture of their families. You had three stick figures on the page each of them labeled, the tallest one was labeled "daddy", the tiny one was named "me", the last one was labeled "mommy". You got to take them home you excitedly ran into the living room where Chris had been working and showed him the picture. You mom stood nervously at the door way.
It hit me like a train the first time she called me dad in a three stick figure crayon picture with all of us holding hands. Her mama said I understand if it's too soon for this, I didn't let her finish I took it to the kitchen stuck it on the fridge.
"That's you, me, and mommy!" You pointed at each stick figure as you spoke. Chris stared at it shocked, you didn't call him dad, he was Chrissy. Sure he wanted to be dad but he was fine being Chrissy as long as he had his baby girl.
"I understand if it's too soon for thi-" your mom began before was cut off as he put you on his hip and went to the kitchen sticking the drawing to the fridge was a magnet.
"It's perfect. Good job Peanut." He kissed your forehead.
She ain't my blood, ain't got my name but if she did I'd feel the same. I wasn't there for her first steps but I ain't missed a ball game yet, and that ain't gonna change I could never walk away yeah she's my baby, my whole world she ain't my blood but she's my girl
You ran out of the dugout straight into Chris' arms. He expected you to be sad because your biological dad didn't show up but you were beaming.
"Daddy! I ran the game winning home run!" You said happily. "Scottie did you see?" You asked the other man.
"I did! Good job kiddo." Scott high-fived you smiling.
"Mommy did you see?" She nodded breathing a breath of fresh air.
"Coach said he's taking us all out for ice cream!" You added smiling. The three adults shook there head at your excited rambling.
She's Saturday morning cartoons
You were cuddled up on Chris' lap, a bowl of cereal in your own lap as you watched tv. Unaware Chris was smiling at you. At his daughter who dragged him out of bed just because she needed to watch cartoons with someone.
She's hey can I sleep in your room
You padding down the hallway quickly, you just had a nightmare and needed your dad to protect you.
"Daddy?" You pushed him lightly. He slowly stirred awake looking at your mom to see if she was still asleep which she was. "Can I sleep with you I had a nightmare."
"Of course bubba!" He scooted over lifting the blanket so you could crawl into the bed.
She bigger then the plans I had, She making me a better man
He was only in his early 20s when he met you, his career was just shooting off but you, you were more important then that. That's why he was on his way to the er. You fell off the slide at the park, He was on set but your mom called saying you were crying for Chrissy to come.
"Chrissy!" You exclaimed as he walked in. He frowned looking at the cast on your arm. "You came!"
"Of course I came bubba."
She ain't my blood, ain't got my name but if she did I'd feel the same.
You waited nervously to give Chris your present. It was his birthday you were going to ask him to adopt you. You wanted to be a Evans.
"Dad! That's there's one left." You said walking over to him holding an envelope. You stood in front of him shuffling on your feet nervously. He smiled pulling you onto his lap. Taking the present before you noticed, all the adults had their phones out.
"What?" He asked. "Is this a prank? Is that why your filming?"
"No! Now open it!" Your mom said, knowing the longer he takes to open it the more nervous you'll get. He slowly opened the envelope scanning over the page, his eyes caught the big words on the top of the page and he froze. You felt him tense and got really nervous.
You didn't know what to do, you didn't want to say "dad?" Because if he is rethinking this and doesn't want to adopt you, then he might not want to be called dad by you, but you didn't want to say "Chrissy?" Cause it didn't feel right anymore.
"Chris?" Scott asked once he noticed you worrying close to tears.
"You want me to adopt you?" He asked his face breaking into a smile. You had never been more relieved in your life.
"Yeah.."
"Of course!" He exclaimed squeezing you.
I wasn't there for her first steps but I ain't missed a ball game yet, and that ain't gonna change I could never walk away yeah she's my baby, my whole world she ain't my blood but she's my girl.
A/n: well wasn't that just sweet.
