remember when katniss straight up did not know what what mouth to mouth cpr was? yeah, it added a little bit of comedy to a highly tense situation ("why is finnick kissing peeta" - katniss, a girl who doesn't have it bad for peeta at all and is totally normal about him) but it's such an interesting detail about the varying methods/lifestyles/skills that each district has and what they're trained to deal with because of their district's specialty

#i think katniss was talking too in the book about how the other District tributes are slightly more well off #because they at least have some useful skills relating to their industry - even the non-careers #and d12 kids don't touch a mine or coal until they're 18 so wtf are they going to bring with them as a skill set/asset in the Games #the hunger games #District 12 #katniss everdeen #finnick odair #district 4 #other than lucy gray's lake i would imagine that d12 doesn't have many occasions to drown #since it's illegal to cross the border #so no one knows basic life saving skills like cpr #the average teen doesn't know how to respond to life threatening wounds like katniss does too #like a lack of information is so so easy to weaponize
