what if steve rogers was the reincarnation of mirena (”dracula untold”)

STOP, DON’T WALK AWAY I SWEAR TO GOD THAT THIS ACTUALLY COULD WORK!

Mirena, in “Dracula Untold,” had to watch when the Ottomans came and threatened not just her people, but her son.  They were bullies of the worst sort.  I can definitely see her, even without remembering, taking those feelings into her next life and being very anti-bully.  She was also incredibly brave and loyal to her loved ones, she’s basically the only one who gives Vlad time to explain the curse/powers and still trusts him afterwards.

So imagine Mirena reincarnating as Steve Rogers.  As a man in the early 20th century his upbringing is very different from that of a woman in the 15th (or thereabouts).  He hates bullies and doesn’t back down.  He will follow his loved ones into hell and not look back.

Steve starts having dreams of this other life after he gets out of the ice.  He has no idea what it means that he’s dreaming of being a woman (with a son?  and a husband his dream!self is madly in love with?) and he doesn’t really have anyone to talk to about it.  He shoves the memory-dreams down until the Avengers start dealing with actual magic users and one of them gets a load of his aura/spirit-self.  Mass confusion erupts and the team makes Steve watch every single Dracula movie they can get their hands on so he will debunk them.

(“Bats?”

“True.”

“How many bats?”

“I didn’t exactly count them!”)

((If this happens in a Darcy-Su-Namun universe, Darcy and Steve bond over being reincarnation bros.  Many a drink is shared whilst they discuss cursed ex-significant others who are quite literally cursed and therefore might still be alive, somewhere.  It’s all very maudlin and Natasha supplies the vodka.))

Now imagine Vlad figuring this all out and attempting to woo Captain America.
