Not me thinking "man, The Soft Moon has to be my favorite currently active musician, too bad I missed when they came to play in my hometown last year but there'll be other chances" and then finding out Jose Luis Vasquez died at the beginning of this year???

I discovered The Soft Moon while stuck in London Heathrow overnight waiting for a flight. It was the same night I discovered Boy Harsher and Molchat Doma. It was the dawn of my love of goth/darkwave music. I’ve come back to this KEXP performance often just to listen to his vocals on ‘Wasting’ - I could never get enough of him.

Devastated that we have lost such a talented and dynamic artist so young. Grateful I got to see him perform live, if only once. His music will continue on, but I wish he were still here 😞🥀
