I don't get when people act like Gladstone being an asshole foil whatever and him having "depth"/a complicated relationship to luck can't coexist
#Gladstone as a message of hedonism and mindless pursuits#to be fair I think if you look like a comic like solitude of 4 leaf#I think that could have been better as much as I find guilty pleasure from any Gladstone “angst”#but that's topo Gladstone I suppose#alternatively I would have written the “sequels” to give some actual consequences and maybe some major ones even#after all he's so used to getting what he wants even if he's adjusted to a farmtown life#that's where I thought that whole conflict/behavior with the bookstore stemmed from#sorry I view things more from a psych/philo perspective than storytelling half the time though#Gladstone wont change that easy to me#he's not insecure uwu to me either but largely there's a hollow hole in him thats “”“filled”“” by what his luck gives him#wow tags ramble that made no sense#anyway gmorning waiting for my grandparents to leave so I can do some final studying lolol
