now im in the final stretch!! its time to play Reginald's route!! this time i will not look at the ending guide like i did for my other playthroughs bc idrc abt which ending i get first (i'll use the guide for getting the other ending)

Okay okay okay hear me out this is probably way too far into conspiracy theory territory and also probably won't make any sense.

So I was trying to write, working on the mtg chunklet that's looking pretty nice so far it's only a teensy bit longer than i was expecting and i haven't even begun the actual game but anyway i have the disasters drooling over jace and i was thinking sbout how similar jace and fitz are since you know they're both hot and they're both telepaths do you really need anything else. No. The answer is no.

This led me to a throwaway consoiracy theory in the context of the chapter that fitz running around the forbidden cities inspired jace!s creation for no good reason at all other than it'd be funny so i went and googled trying to find jace's first appearance on a card. He might be in some other non-card thing before this but idrc.

It turns out it was approx. 2011. He wasn't a planeswalker yet but his name was mentioned which i think is good enough and it could work with the timeline of book 1 taking place in 2012 as is generally accepted.

And then i saw the artist.

Jason Chan drew the art for the first appearance of Jace on a card. And I am almost certain it's the same Jason Chan that illustrates the kotlc covers nowadays.

For one it’s such an enjoyable concept that Fitz may have inspired some very random stuff during his time in the Forbidden Cities and the sheer chaos energy of that is wonderful. Also if Fitz literally inspired Jace it’s very funny to me that he’s either drooling over him or watching his partners do so all told. Imagine Keefe’s reaction to the fact that he is technically dating real life hot mtg guy (actually wait now I’m picturing him telling Fitz there’s just something special about Jace and Fitz spluttering in reply). generally though everything about that idea is hilarious to me so thank you very much for sharing
