And that's his cue. As expected, the daemon is charging at him. Skarbrand was hardly a subtle individual, thus Ardaka had prepared to encounter him soon as he caught the scent. It was a very distinct, powerful smell, after all.

Ardaka indeed absconds, but not before whirling his cloak open and shooting at the daemon with his crossbow. The 'arrow' is made from a quill that had came loose from a Slaaneshi's pincer-arm, one of many that came loose in a violent confrontation it had with another of its kind (they were probably mating, in retrospect, but Ardaka only scavenged long after that fact). It was coated in venom, but the bright purple coloring had gone sour, sickly and desaturated with unnatural disease. He wasn't sure if it would do anything, but it surely had to be more effective than mortal steel. What were mortal weapons to creatures of another realm entirely, after all?

He takes less than a second to aim and fire that specially prepared dart before turning and fleeing. He was bold enough to shoot, but he wasn't stupid enough to linger.
