how's the chernobyl book going? well, the author intersperses his chapters about the disaster with his own account of visiting pripyat, which would be fine (other than the moral question of whether it is ethical to visit pripyat at all) except that he keeps mentioning being excited to see scenes from call of duty in real life 🙃
#he's a redditor. his whole foreword was about reddit.#please i literally do not want to know a single thing about you as a person#also he claims all other accounts of chernobyl are too biased but not his!#then gushes about how safe & sustainable nuclear power is#but he only compares it to coal & gas & hydro - it's like wind & solar don't exist#& he's wrong about some of the details of ARS but that's nitpicky#stop saying the ignatenko baby died because of radiation given off by her father!#that's not how ARS works & is unnecessarily stigmatizing to the victims. ARS isn't contagious.#once contaminated material like clothes & dust are removed ARS victims themselves are not radioactive. their bodies aren't.
