thank you, @internalsealpanic for the tag <3
1) How many works do you have on AO3?
16, I really need to write more pfft
*Red did not realize how many headcanons + multi chapters they had until they saw this number*
2) What’s your total AO3 word count?
76,973
3) How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Right now I only write for one (DC) and don't really plan on branching out. There was a very brief moment of time where I considered writing for Assassination Classroom but I liked having a specific blog aesthetic too much.
4) What are your top five fics by kudos?
Big Brother Intuition (440)
Tomcat (89)
Boss (71)
Toxin (68)
Nowhere to Go (68)
5) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I love responding to comments and try my best to every time I get a comment because I don't get them often so I cherish the times I do.
6) What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
*cough* Nightmare *cough*
Really the angstiest ending would have to be Five Senses (Angst Ver) but thats barely a fic. Im just not a fan of writing angst without a happy ending so it's rare that I'll do it.
7) Do you write crossovers?
No.
8) Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Nothing I'd classify as hate, thankfully enough.
9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
*laughs awkwardly* I pride myself in having really kinky smut cuz I get to say fuck you to people. Is it released yet? Not exactly, Im working on it. I enjoy writing healthy BDSM content as well as Femdom-ing.
10) Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope, can't steal something that isn't valuable.
11) Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope.
12) Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I have heavily considered reaching out to other writers to co-write a fic. My main problem is that it feels too bold and I'd feel too bad.
13) What’s your all-time favorite ship?
In the fandom? Timber. I mostly like Fanon Timber right now because there's not much Timber content in Canon besides Urban Legends that I am willing to filter through. But the fics? THE ART? Its so great. Otherwise I tend to not ship DC characters just because Im not that well-versed.
Outside of fandom is a different story
14) What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
I would say my TBA multichapter fic but I doubt the discord would let me get away with that. They'll tape my hands to the laptop if it means I finish it.
15) What are your writing strengths?
Narration!! Its one of my favorite things to play around with and it really gets me immersed into the writing experience.
16) What are your writing weaknesses?
Dialogue. Fuck Dialogue man. Characterization is so hard enough already, I don't need more pressure. The only time I truly love dialogue is when I'm writing smut.
17) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language?
As a white monolingual, I have a firm boundary in place when it comes to other languages and respecting other cultures that I do not belong to. I'm not willing to cross that boundary just for a writing aesthetic, especially at the expense of people who don't know that language and for people who do. Id much rather just write it in English with some snazzy italics and say it was in a foreign tongue.
18) What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?
*cringes* Youtubers. No further comments.
19) What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?
Big Brother Intuition hands down. It was the first fic that I wrote that wasn't with a reader and I wrote Bruce and Dick as main parts for the first time. I'm very proud of a lot of metaphors I used as well as how good the execution was and sometimes when Im upset about my writing I sit down and reread BBI because it reminds me of my potential, even if it doesn't sound like my writing. Also, it was based on an experience of mine almost word for word, so I'm glad it was turned into something I could be proud of.
Nightmare is a very VERY close second but I refuse to be proud of it until I finish the damn thing. Every chapter is full of extensive planning and foreshadowing that I've been planning out since Little Nightmares II came out so It's been a long run. The entire thing is challenging me to write like its a novel and its been so fun. Its become less of a fic for the spotlight and more of a fic for enjoyment and experimenting with new ideas. And that, is why its become a favorite. It reminds me what its like to write for myself and for fun.
20) Who do you tag?
@unmotivatedwrit3r & @jd-loves-fiction
fic writer 20 questions
