I know I’ve done my job right as a parent when it’s time for my daughter to get casted in her schools nativity and she excitedly tells me she’s been casted as ‘Cas’ brother’ AKA Angel Gabriel then proceeds to ask me why Cas isn’t in the play.

One of hers lines is “I’m an angel of God” and I told her to suggest they change the line to “I’m an Angel of the lord” we shall find out next week if we were successful or not

“She’s too obsessed with Eren and keeping him safe” okay??? You would be too if you lived the life she’s lead???

First she witnessed her parents be brutally murdered when she was only 9, then she was kidnapped and heard about all of the terrible things the kidnappers were planning to do to her, then in rushed this kid she’d never met who rescued her, gave her the literal clothes off his body without hesitation, and immediately adopted her as part of his family.

Eren’s shared everything he has with her (and as a boy from Zhiganshina that’s really not a lot to begin with) and at some point he would’ve introduced her to his only friend in the world - Armin - sharing him with her as well. In the span of one evening this little girl had her entire life brutally ripped away from her and shattered beyond repair, and that very night Eren gave her a brand new life, with a new family who will love and look after her.

Mikasa often acts like Eren is her entire world, and that’s because he is. His life is now her life. They now share a home, parents, chores, friends, probably a room too.

Say what you will about Eren, he was an incredibly caring kid, and it makes perfect sense that this deeply traumatised child clung so quickly to this boy who saved her, and it makes sense that she develops a severe case of abandonment anxiety and safety anxiety for her new family after what literally just happened to her bio parents, and these anxieties can only get devastatingly worse when not even a year later she loses her surrogate parents in similarly traumatic ways.

In the span of one year this little girl had her life completely broken TWICE, and her only constant, her only safe place through it all was Eren.

I’m just sick of people writing off Mikasa as being Eren’s love-sick bodyguard. Yes, she’s in love with him. But her relationship with Eren isn’t just “I love him and thus would do literally anything for him” - it’s deeply tied to her complex trauma and the way she views the world.
