1: a legend of korra fancomic. at the top is a label that reads: (This is part of my ATLA/LOK crossover AU). (I think I'm gonna make it a highlight so people can find the earlier parts more easily.)

the first scene begins: korra is facing towards asami but avoiding her gaze, petting naga's head instead. she says: ... i'm grateful to you for saving the kids. but i can't exactly trust you when i barely know anything about you.

the next panel is a closeup of asami's eyes, and korra continues: who are you really? What did you do to get banished from the fire nation?

2: in a new panel, asami sighs and says, "you hate the fire nation. does it really matter?"

korra's speech bubble says, "well, yeah? I mean, for all I know you're a serial killer or something."

in a new, smaller panel, asami laughs and says, "okay, okay, nothing like that."

the next panel has no scenic background and is more cartoony than the rest of the comic as asami says, "no, my mother cheated on the Firelord with some nonbender and he got angry about it." asami gestures upward towards cartoonish icons of an angry firelord and her two smiling parents with a little pink heart between them. offscreen, korra says, "sorry what the fuck.""

3: a new scene, on the mountains in daylight. korra looks annoyed as she touches the sleeve of her badly-burned jacket.

asami, in the background, looks over at her, mildly concerned.

korra says, "i mean, my arm was barely burned to i healed it pretty easily, but that firebending jerk wrecked my only good jacket..."

korra proceeds to remove the jacket, revealing her more fitted top that shows off her muscles.

asami is blushing very hard in the background of this panel.

the last panel is asami's face, flushed pink with hearts in her eyes, staring at korra while ikki tugs on her sleeve and says "hey asami you're making a funny face."

4: a new, more serious scene. this one takes place at twilight; there's dramatic purple lighting and a rising, reddish full moon.

korra, who has apparently ripped off the sleeves of her jacket since the last scene, stares down mako, who is trapped in a block of ice and pointedly avoiding her gaze.

the second panel shows asami, meelo, ikki, and jinora observing the scene from about twenty feet away.

5: meelo turns to asami and excitedly says, "asami, asami, can we keep him?"

ikki and jinora look outraged and say, "what?!" "no way!"

indignantly, meelo turns to face them and waves his arms as he says, "easy for you to say, you're all girls! the whole group is girls! we need another boy!"

ikki pouts angrily, and jinora says, "THAT'S what this is about?!""

6: asami looks weirded out as she says, "sorry, meelo, but i'm pretty sure we're not going to KEEP the guy who's been trying to kidnap korra and turn her over to the firelord for the past three months."

outside of a speech bubble, indicating her thoughts, asami thinks, "though what we're actually going to do with him, i don't know..."

the next panel cuts to Korra facing the group with mako still stuck in ice in the background. she puts her hands on her hips and says, "so i decided we're keeping him."

mako yells "hey!' in the background."

7: a new scene. this one takes place in the middle of the night, several hours after the previous one. the first panel shows mako's bound hands behind his back, his fingers creating a small flame. he thinks, "it's a full moon."

he sighs and drops the burnt ropes to the ground, and thinks, "it would be stupid to fight her tonight."

the next panel is mako looking shocked as a wave of water splashes onto him and grabs him from behind.

8: the next panel is a closeup shot of korra from mako's point of view, extending her water arm toward the camera. she glares and says, "not so fast, captain. i told you--you're gonna tell me everything you know about EVERY place your people might've taken tenzin and pema--and once i've got them back, you can go free. not until then."

the second panel of the page shows korra lifting mako up in a swirling vortext of water as she says this; her expression is challenging, his is uncomfortable, and the full moon is prominent in the background.

9: mako, still struggling to escape the water prison, says, "you're crazy if you think you can just walk into the fire nation and start breaking into prisons left and right. if it was that easy, i wouldn't be here!" angry, korra snaps, "what's that supposed to mean?"
