wild wild country is such a crazy documentary, like it made me feel genuinely conflicted about both sides of the situation (bc it's about a cult). but as many episodes into this series as i am, idk. it'll be a cold day in hell before i ever defend the state of oregon.

#yes the hippie folk were in a cult. and yeah the documentary is probably glossing over things in order to make it a '2 sides' storg #*story #but even then. i can't get over how they were pretty much minding their own business a whole 20 miles away from the nearest locals #like yes they're a cult. they poisoned the townspeople. they committed election fraud. they did weird and illegal shit #but prior to all that they were like. vibing 20 milws away #the locals had to go 20 miles out of their way to make death threats towards them and shoot guns at their property #that was before they did anything obviously egregious. they were just dubbed a satanic sex cult before they even said 'hi' lol #this is not me defending a cult btw. it's a cult #but i'm not defending the proudly bigoted conservative christian oregonians either #wild wild country #rambles
