square card reader has this fun feature where you can accidentally doxx yourself to everyone who buys from you without warning
#uhhhh me#WILD that nowhere during setup does it tell you 'hey! this address you enter will be displayed on every receipt!!'#thank goodness i was testing it beforehand and noticed it#i do NOT want everyone who buys from me to know where i live thankyouverymuch#and also you can't toggle this off via the app. you have to go to their online website#which seems unnecessarily hassley#ALSO also if you toggle location off#it just turns off the map#the address itself is STILL WRITTEN ON THE BOTTOM OF THE RECEIPT#so i just. entered the address of the place i'm going to be selling at#i think they just weren't aware that a lot of people using square are people selling at cons#and don't have actual storefronts#it just would have been nice!! to have been told!! at the beginning!!#that the address we're entering!! should be our storefront address!! and not our home address!!!
