Further work gossip:

Apparently a person who I thought got fired but quit back in late January ALSO had HR lock her accounts before her two weeks was up.

she works at a restaurant now and the main (and most senior) IT guy apparently came in with his friends, who spent most of the meal trying to convince him to quit because the job is so toxic

she ALSO had issues with the supervisor the clinical director was telling me no one had problems with 

I’m sure none of this is going to impact our clients or contracts at all
