I forgot to introduce him.

This is Gilang, Lee Chaolan's personalized fighter companion.

Lee Chaolan realized he is getting old but still haven't got a family of his own.

Well, aside of "Hey, Hachi"

Being a huge fan of Dr. Bosconovitch's creation, on top of his experience from repairing Alisa, he decided to try make his own companion. Either way, he treated his creations like his own children. He wants a companion he's not going to mass produce, for he...will be his favorite "son".

Or so he thought.

Lee discovered he could test it out by repurposing his ComBot prototypes. Using ComBot as the base frame, he tried to replicate programs similar to Alisa's AI and Battle algorithms to make him a self-taught combat companion, constantly learning fighting styles from every fighter around the world.

Unfortunately, all ComBot versions(even the recent ones) shared one glitch in their system:

They can only learn one fighting style at a time.

The ComBot he used as his baseline, was previously rented to an Indonesian fighter. Therefore, everything in its operating system are all written in Indonesian, by default.

Much to Lee's surprise, this guy makes a proficient fighter the more he spent more time with him, but he had to take more language lessons and open more dictionaries just so he could understand the program's language.

From this experience, he was referred as Gilang. Derived from the word "Gemilang"(means shining bright or brilliant in Indonesian).

Like Alisa, he would conceal weapons underneath his hands.

But due to his fighting style being Pencak Silat, Lee embedded claws onto his palms for battle efficiency.

Trivia time!

So in the making of this design, he was actually recycled from one of my first OCs I posted on DeviantART, but I realized I can repurpose him for another fandom(it was Dislyte at the time).

As I learned about the mythologies and stuff, one that always intrigued me is by reintroducing Indonesian's superhero figure, Gatotkaca. The star on his chest and the overall color palettes I used were derived from him.

Gatotkaca was more commonly known as a minor figure in the "Epic of Mahabharata". He was a half-human, half-Raksasha(the man-eating giants in the lore) who died by upsizing himself and dropped his dead body to Karna's carriage.

However, there is the OG Mahabharata

And there's...Indonesian's Mahabharata, which is drastically different, including the way Gatotkaca was portrayed to the point he becomes his own character. He actually had his own arc as he learned his parental lineage and his place in the world as he was recruited by the Pandavas

The decision to add claws came from one style of Silat known as "Silat Harimau", locally known for its precision as it mimics the movements and philosophy of a tiger. In the original application, Silat style is accompanied by a thumb dagger called Kerambit, which acts as the fighter's "claws".

That dagger, right there, is a Kerambit.

Yes, I have to include Smoke(MK1) since he's literally the only one that used this weapon for a Silat fighting style and not as mere accessories to make the character looked tactically cool.(Hello, Victor.)
