Rewatching the first episode of season 2, this thought just hit me.

So Shoko, most of the time, didn't go on missions because she was one of the rare ones with RCT that can be applied onto others. Meaning, she actually didn't have to go on that mission with Satoru and Suguru to retrieve Utahime and Mei Mei unless she wanted to.

A) because probably needs a healer in deck just in case someone did need medical attention.

and

B) she also wanted to check on Utahime since they are close. She was actually the one to greet Utahime by name, asked her if she was okay and told her she was worried about her (and Mei Mei) after not hearing from them for 2 days.
