sams corruption arc is so fucking good!!

watching his character go from one of the most generous and kind members of the server to the most ruthless and corrupt individual has been played out so well. imo this has probably been the best corruption arc on the server (sorry wilbur). sam built the prison so he could help people (the pay was practically nothing for what he did); serve the server ya know. and with dreams imprisonment saw the beginning of his character turning to cruelty and inhumanity. the overwhelming knowledge that you are responsible for the server's greatest threat is bound to break any man, and it did.

we watched sam start to care less and less about dream, treat him worse and worse; his voice became harder, he started to lose the heart he was so well known for.

the turning point was quite obviously the death of tommyinnit

right after tommy died and came back, we saw sam grieving and beating himself up over it. he played a part in a childs death and suffering, and he couldnt stand that about himself. so he isolated himself, he lost his self confidence and became the unstable shell he still is. quackity using that to his advantage is undeniably wrong but so so hot and quickly aided in the deterioration of sams character. but it played such a big part in his corruption. he quite possibly could have healed and reflected enough to realize what hed become when he was on his sad little island, but quackitys manipulation and exploitation of a broken creeper, left us with this hot mess.

the hot mess that will do, or not do, anything to make sure his one goal is met: keep dream in prison. Hes become one-track minded (cough wilbur corruption arc), losing the part of him that cares for other things, other people. he told tommy himself he didnt care about him, he permanently hurt ponk, he let another person die, on his watch. whether ghostburs death was justified or not, it is undeniable that sam did, and does, not care either way. and now, because of himself, hes made sure his goal will not be met.
