I'm going to put some disorganised thoughts. You're not forced to reply if you don't want to💛

One of my favourite themes between them is a loss of humanity. With Miranda, it's how her love to Eva made her a monster. In Alcina's case, it's being an embodiment of monster in all possible ways.

Technically Bela/Cassandra/Daniela is their mutual 'pet project' and maybe canon wise it's the only "closeness" they ever had. Flies symbolise death in mythology and both Alcina & Miranda are death. They kill,they experiment, the castle itself is a place of blood and death- It's soo tasty to me tbh, i can talk about death and flies connection A LOT.

Flies love deadly things. And maybe death loves them in return...

Talking about love, it's such a human emotion. It's prevalent for both Miranda and Alcina. Miranda still loves Eva even if her feelings aren't as pure as they were. Alcina loves her daughters and after you kill them, she claims that Ethan "ruined everything".

It's the only human trait that they have. They don't love in the way humans too; at this point it's too alien. But they DO love.

And love can be a good background for horror. What would you do for love? And can you still love after your heart stopped beating decades ago? Maybe it's not a love but just an idea that you're clinging to.

I'd say that Mirancina is a match made in hell. They have a lot of similarities thematically (despite of how different they are) but they would have never been together.

Oh I always love reading people's unhinged mirancina thoughts. Makes me *[snarling baboon noises]*

Sometimes I like to think about hopeful ways they could have been together, little moments of shared tenderness, but most often it's more fun to think about how Alcina's obsession bloomed in a rot and whether or not Miranda would/could reciprocate it. Or not. She is a prideful monster, as is Alcina. That's the fun of it all; there's no right answer 🥰
