nova's declassified school survival guide
Minseo felt inadequate when it came to promotions. She felt more comfortable performing, but appearing on variety shows was a different beast entirely for her. She had taken workshops as a trainee. It wasn't like she was pushed into the deep end and told to swim. She found it too difficult to be herself, especially after receiving feedback that there was a delicate balance between being genuine and presenting a more polished version of her personality that was digestible to viewers. Not to mention that she had to be funny and that required impeccable timing. She had stopped listening halfway through, but her overall takeaway was that she was way in over her head and she needed a lot more practice.
She wanted to enjoy to the fullest when the group appeared on variety shows and observe the fellow members shine in different ways rather than focusing on the gnawing level of dread in the pit of her stomach. It was another reason that she found Milan so captivating when the group shot variety content. Her friend seemed to have mastered that delicate balance and she lost herself on set, enjoying seeing Milan as a viewer rather than someone who needed to interact back. She was an absolute fan of Nova's Milan. She knew Idol Human Theater was bound to be an entertaining time for the entire group with each girl having a specific rule to follow and hers was the closest to her personality.
"So, what I'm trying to say is that there is a disturbance in the energy of this room..." She continues on her tangent about there being a ghost in their classroom. "The lights above us sometimes flickers and there is barely anyone at this time. I don't think our classmates are running above us for the lights to do that... And there is a draft right in the corner!" She points to the far left corner of the room, holding up the fish puppet she had created out of the paper with the scales lifting up. The plan would be to place it in position and wait for the scales to move. Of course, there was a vent right above the corner, but that was trick of a rookie magician. "I'll prove it to you. I'll ask Milan to come and help me out as a witness."

Her friend's antics cause the corner of her lips to twitch, but she bites the inside of her cheek to keep herself from forming a complete smile. All the members were in character and she refused to crack first. Minseo tilts her head in response, eyebrow quirking with curiosity. She feels tempted to mirror her friend's dance routine, only managing to follow the last move before returning her attention back to her new friend created out of a paper.
"No one is upsetting anyone. Ghosts can be friends.." Her voice lowers with a brief tone of uneasiness in her voice and expression. "You're only my witness. Tell me if you see the scales move!" She holds up her paper craft with both hands above her head and a few inches away from the vent to obscure it from the camera. Her gaze remains on Milan, awaiting for a response that she can react to until a thud is heard near the window. She forgets all about her fish friend, discarding it on the floor when she leaps forward to embrace her friend out of feigned fear. After all, she had seen a book drop onto the windowsill. "Was that a bird?"
"What was it? That was too scary..." She mumbles, pulling away to pick up her fish from the floor. "Experiment aborted! We should shake it off with a dance. Show me what you did earlier."
none of this makes sense and milan loves it. girls' capitalism had been a fun music video to shoot, and now playing the wacky rules as people on the student council? genius. though, to be fair, she has one of the easiest roles in this; just get up and dance at random moments.
she has just sat down after a random such moment, when minseo continues on. if someone truly embodies their 'rule' it has to be minseo. the girl always manages to come up with the most outlandish things on the daily, and the fish puppet is just a testament to it. milan would've just put some pink glasses on and spewed random things. maybe emulate the speech of the people in the 70s or something.
she doesn't need to feign her surprise when minseo calls her over, but manage to quickly turn the opportunity into something. she looks aound the table as if there could be another 'milan' before pointing to herself questionably. after a confirmation, she stands up slowly, takes one stay away from the table she's sitting at and burst into a random dance before making her way to minseo. "i just have to look, right?" she asks, skeptically eyeing minseo and her fish. "i'm not saying i believe in ghosts or that there's one, but i also won't purposely upset one or something." she continues.
