Just felt like drawing Ralof and Hadvar for this next, idk I had some good ideas for them

What if, even though Spider expressed his desire to cut off contact, the judge awarded custody to Quaritch? I'm very curious about this version of events, what the first moments after hearing the decision would looked like, Spider's reaction

I'm not sure how likely this would be in the fic's current care system, but let's say just for the sake of argument that Quaritch did gain custody. Spider had already made his decision that he didn't want to see Quaritch again. He felt betrayed and hurt by Quaritch's half actioned plan to kidnap him away from the Sullys. He didn't feel safe around Quaritch anymore, which is such a shame because the two of them had only just managed to build up that level of trust again before it got shattered.

In the courtroom, Spider would be aghast, Kiri would clutch his hand tight and Jake would exclaim loudly and be told off by the court officials. Neytiri would be completely shocked, probably assuming (maybe correctly) that the procedure had been rigged by Quaritch and the RDA's resources. Quaritch would be just as shocked, but it would be the best day of his life. He'd need to sit down and grasp onto the banister in a state of shock and disbelief. This moment was over a decade in the making and it had finally arrived. He had custody.

Fast forward two weeks and Spider is unloading his stuff at Quaritch's apartment, in a state of numb disbelief. Kiri and Lo'ak refused to sit at home so they're helping him get it all in from Jake's car. Jake stays outside in the driveway, watching the kids work protectively. Quaritch stands in the doorway, watching in a similar manner. It's tense.

Eventually, the time comes for the Sullys to leave Spider. Something in Quaritch wants to invite them in for a drink, but he just can't do it. Spider hugs them all in turn and forces himself not to cry as they climb into the car. They tell him to visit. They tell him to call if he needs anything. They tell him he is still their family. Spider swallows numbly and waves from the doorway, Quaritch's heavy hand on his shoulder.

"Come on, son," Quaritch says quietly once they've gone.

Spider shrugs the hand off him and ignores Quaritch, going upstairs to his room where he remains for the rest of the afternoon. He doesn't have it in him to unpack properly so he lays on the bed surrounded by boxes. If this was all some horrible mistake, he wanted to be ready to leave again at a moment's notice.

Quaritch knocked on his door a while later, wanting to talk. He needed to explain about the kidnapping plan. He needed to rebuild the trust. But Spider shut him out. The boy was not in the mood to engage in meaningful conversation, at least not today, so Quaritch left it. Spider didn't come out for dinner so Quaritch tried again, eventually rousing Spider to come down and eat. It was awkward and quiet but Spider held it together enough that there wasn't a major blown up. He was too shocked and depressed still that this was happening.

Over the next few days things start to improve. With time, Spider kind of had no choice but to accept that Quaritch did care for him, and was now putting him first. Begrudgingly, he began to allow it until eventually things stopped feeling like they were in sub zero temperatures together. It was a slow process but Quaritch was too happy to have Spider back to feel annoyed. Eventually, they do begin to develop a trusting relationship, though never to the extent that it was when Spider called him that night when he had an asthma attack and had run away from the Sullys.

Inigo is left on Taliesin Watch Duty, not too far away.* Inigo: So, what do you like to do for fun, aside from murdering people? Taliesin: I quite think I've mentioned once or twice that I was ordered to do that. I don't think anyone follows orders for fun. Inigo: Fair point. But really, surely there are some normal habits you enjoy. I quite like rhyming with Lucien on the road, or singing with Allora, and training with all three of them. Taliesin: She sings? She doesn't strike me the type. But I quite enjoy the finer things in life. Reading, for one. I hope to write a book someday myself. I enjoy training and the learning the various uses of weapons. Inigo: Hehe. Taliesin: Are you laughing at me for my interests? Inigo: No, no. I am sorry. I am merely laughing that, in any other instance, I believe you would have been very fast friends with all of us. Taliesin: I'm not so sure about that. Inigo: No? Perhaps you do not know about us enough just yet. I know Kaidan would want to spar with someone else at an equal level, despite how much he enjoys training Allora. And I know she and Lucien love reading. I think Allora has mentioned she has written stories before. I just feel like you would have rounded us out fairly nicely. That is all. Taliesin: What an interesting notion... *watches as Kaidan is forced to catch Lucien as he falls off Merryweather with Allora trying to not laugh and check up on them* ...Is it your turn to threaten me? Inigo: Did you want me to? I had assumed they were doing well enough. Taliesin: No. Thank you. And... for the pleasant conversation. It's nice to not be threatened. I knew I liked cats for a reason. Oooh, Double Kryptonian AU is super interesting! Does Clark get them all somewhere safe? Maybe the Kent farm so Ma and Pa can look after them?

Dyam is already asleep, breathing softly where he's curled up in a hay bale and a sleeping bag. He's still easily swayed to sleep most of the time, his energy wanes much faster than his brothers and father, his body is trying to catch up to itself while it heals. Jon sleeps next to him, simply always eager for a nap.

Dic sits close to the fire, watching the flames and the sky all at once, his long hair pulled up and back and out of his face, the once greasy strands now cleaned with Martha's simple soaps, there's a kind of peace to him, listening to the way Kara talks his ear off about the teenage hero's their own age.

Jae is the quietest, he normally is, reading a book with his back to the fire so he can see the words on the page, his hair is curling around his mask, nobody on earth had seen the boy without it yet. There's a barn cat that's curled around the old camping chair that Jae occupies, purring up a storm and occasionally moving when one side of it's black fur gets too hot.

Te however, is pulled up on an old log that never got cut, holding a stick and asking Kon to explain himself one more time.

"It's not hard." Kon explains, patient and smiling. "It's just a kind of food. You like sweet things." Te scrunches his nose up, his own long hair is not nearly as neat as his brothers so it falls down around his hears and chin. His pale eyes watch the chocolate bar like it will bite him.

"I'll go first." Kon stabs a jumbo marshmallow through the stick he's holding, grabbed perfectly out of a tree this morning in preparation of tonight's main event. "It's easy to do, there's no wrong way to do it. You burn the sugar, you put it on the chocolate. You sandwich it in between graham crackers."

"The Google says that it has to be gold." Te's English words aren't as smooth as when he speaks his native language, but he's been much better at learning English than Kon has been at learning Kryptonian. "You say it needs to be burn. What is correct?"

"There's no wrong way to do it, buddy." Kon laughs, "Try it how you saw it on google first though, okay?"

Te nods, once, and copies Kon motion, spearing his own puffy marshmallow and sticking it much farther than Kon's reckless sort of arsonist approach.

They roast their food, smelling the sweetness burn over the fire, hearing the sounds of family, the night air, and they concentrate.

Kon goes through three s'mores by the time Te is finished with his first, the golden crust cracks when Kon helps Te place it down in between dutch chocolate and thickly covered homemade crackers.

Te's first bite is like a revelation.

BLASTING THE GUYS WITH CAT LAZER AGAIN

yeah I redrew cat AU Brynjolf, Karliah and Mercer because I hated the older designs (Link to the older ones here if you want to compare them)

Bryn first because he was the more fun one to draw

Big fluffy lad, I imagine he's one of those cats that is damn near the size of a medium dog, like 15lbs+/6.8kg+ or something, small-ish compared to someone like The werewolf twins or Ulfric but easily the biggest in his faction by a landslide. Maine coon and Norwegian forest cat were the main reference, just a big guy.

Karliah next!!

Karliah was fun to draw the shapes for but I hated her colors for the longest time, I made her a sepia(?) point because I simply love colorpoints and it makes sense with her having royal blood and all that. The doodle of her face down asleep is my favorite, girl needs to rest. Oriental short hair was the main reference but I decied after finishing her art that I wanted to give them little manes but I didn't feel like adding one to her so I just say she shaves it.

Mercer Frey is last because his pose and design was actual pain

Bastard man himself, I kept him being a colorpoint but I liked him being a Lynx point a lot more than just solid so I did that as well as give him a more interesting pose as a whole. I gave him spots instead of stripes because I liked it more visually and wanted to mix things up. Also, I had no fucking clue before doing this that his eyes were blue, I figured they'd be hazel or something tbh. Anyway, the bastard man.

Do you have any ideas about what the adult life of Spider, Kiri, etc. would be like in your modern au? Mainly focusing on Spider, what stage was his life at when he reconnected with Quaritch?

I can see him doing something creative - either artwork or music or maybe working in movie making. Perhaps he writes comics. He definitely words in the arts in some capacity, maybe while training for something else on the side, or doing some sort of apprenticeship.

If you want hard answers, I think he could be a concept artist/graphic designer for movies and tv shows. He would be so awesome at creating sketches that eventually make the big screen. Kind of like John Howe and Alan Lee for Lord of the Rings.

As for Kiri, she's definitely running her own business focusing on health and wellbeing. Maybe she has a yoga business or maybe she creates products that are sustainably sources while lobbying the government as a side hustle.

It was a joke, a mean joke by your friends. To spice up your sex life they said.

“It” being the (rather expensive) sex bot in front of you, partway unwrapped from when you were oblivious to what he was. At least your friends got points for really going all out for your birthday. Although they likely saved a bit of money by going for one of the somewhat unpopular military styled ones.

You sighed, gently stroking the full lips of the robot in front of you. They were….rather soft for something made of metal and plastic. They almost felt real.

You sighed again, turning to walk away and get a drink from your kitchen but tripping over your own feet in the process, making you fall back…..and into a pair of strong arms.

Now, Davepeta and Jasprose come from Post-Retcon, which means the 6 elements conforming the sprites are diferent this time around, forming, not only Jasprosesprite^2 and Davepetasprite^2, but also GcaTavrosprite and Arquiusprite (again).

RosepetaSprite is a chill gal, and now has the habilities of drawing and writing, making her the ultimate autor. She's a little heartbroken about not being able to be with Kanaya or Karkat, because this timeline's Rose and Dave are dating them, but she won't let that bring her down

Ironically Rosepeta is now conected to the other three sprites. Tavros having the memories of her cat and guide, Equius being her moirail and Davar being a fussion of a copy of her father and of her doomed brother who wanted to see her again. She has some heavy back-up now.
