Sport is a celebration of advantage. The whole world spent like 20 years celebrating the fact that Michael Phelps is a 7 foot tall half dolphin with a 12' wingspan, but suddenly Imane is the problem? Get the fuck outta here.

I can't believe it needs to be said but spouting terf nonsense doesn't make you punk.
"Punk terf" or "terf punk" absolutely baffles me because congratulations you've missed so much history of a subculture you claim to be apart of and you now look like an idiot

Incoming radfem / terf nonsense with bonus ableism (tw r-slur):
No, actually.
Trans people do acknowledge there are differences between trans women and cis women.
We just happen to think there are differences between all kinds of women, not just cis and trans women.
We think there's just as much of a difference between a Black woman and a Hispanic woman, a Jewish woman and a Muslim woman, a trans woman and a cis woman.
We acknowledge that women can hold privilege over other women, such as a Christian woman over a Jewish woman, a white woman over a Black woman, an abled woman over a disabled woman.
Every woman has unique life experiences.
Birth sex is one thing that can affect you, but it's not the only thing that can affect you.
Trans people acknowledge that all women are unique, and that a person's identity is made up of more than the sex they were assigned at birth.

Radfems will talk about wanting to be seen as more than a walking vagina then turn around and talk about the penis like it's the only part on an AMAB person

The number of women in the PCOS tag who are TERFs is bizarre. Girl, surely your own experiences have showed you that the biological sex binary is an illusion? I'm a cis woman with male puberty problems because my ovaries don't work. And I am not even close to the middle of the spectrum. I am on the greyer side of "female body".
Don't you get dysphoric too when you see beard or arm hair? Don't you hate the idea that people keep defining womanhood by your genitals when ours do not work properly? I saw someone say that women are only women because they have the potential to give birth. I don't even have that.
There are no arguments you can make that erase trans femmes that dont also erase a huge chunk of the PCOS community.
Like, how can you ignore the fact that you yourself have hormones that do not match your chosen gender?
I'm legit really confused
Womanhood is beautiful in its diversity and it's so strange to me that you would take your own experiences and use them to invalidate the experiences of women with similar problems.
#pcos#TERF nonsense#not to mention#any research into hormone therapy helps BOTH the PCOS and the trans community#y'all are chasing away ALLIES#idiots

Hey, friends. We need to talk.
We need to talk about TERF Shit™.
I've cropped the top of the below image because the person who reblogged it simply didn't know and they instantly deleted the thing once it was pointed out to them and I don't want anyone to think I'm criticising them here.
You see this?
Yeah. This is TERF Shit. It is also not TERF Shit. Let me explain:
Two of the four blogs visible in this chain are TERFs, emphasis on the RF. Second-wave, evil-is-stored-in-the-Y-chromosome TERFs (one has the "men in women's prisons" dogwhistle in her pinned post; the other has a very recent post at time of writing describing trans people having suicidal ideation as them enacting narcissistic abuse). Of the other two, one appears to be a deeply committed trans-inclusive feminist and anti-racist activist, and the other is a #girlboss #christianliving self-empowerment and wealth blog. What might surprise you is that those descriptions are in bottom-to-top order. Neither of the "her"-URL blogs is overtly TERFy.
The tweet, incidentally, is from a suspended account, so I have no idea what Quantum_King_'s politics are.
Here's what I reckon happened.
The original tweet describes something that is a genuine problem that we really should discuss. It does, however, set some misleading ideas in the reader's mind, too. Clubs and events do indeed profit from enabling predatory men; from creating situations that encourage men to be predatory. The "intentionally", however, is misleading. It suggests they're doing it in order to enable predation. The second blogger leans heavily into this idea. And, again, many of the things listed do have the effect described — but again, it's not because the organisers want more men to prey on women. It's because the organisers get more money when they enable men to prey on women. Now, I want to be very clear: this does not let them off the hook. This does not make any of the systems they've set up less harmful. And it does not make the perception of "female privilege" against which puttingherinhistory argues correct. The reason it's worth understanding is that if we misunderstand the aims of the organisers, we will be incorrect in our analysis of both causes and potential steps toward solutions.
Both of these people engaged in good faith. They fell a little into the trap of conspiracy, assuming that there's a grand aim of preying on women, rather than a system of incentives that enables that, but they also pointed out genuine problems and harms.
Then the TERFs found it. And what did they see? They saw a line of argument that played precisely into their ideology of patriarchy-reductionism (for the unfamiliar: this is the analytic lens that assumes that all unjust power structures are some combination of part of patriarchy, tools of patriarchy, and side-effects of patriarchy. It is analogous to class-reductionism in some schools of communist thought), implying that men are inherently predatory, all these systems are set up intentionally to enable/encourage/abet that predation, and so on. They even saw it coming from blogs with URLs that members of their hate movement might use.
So they boosted it.
And now it's on the dashes of people who don't remotely support TERFism.
And this is why we have to be careful. Not only with what we reblog, but with the framing of our analyses — because TERFs, as we've seen, consistently ally with fash, and we do not want to even accidentally phrase our advocacy in ways that appeal to fash and their allies.

imagine joining the "eroticized violence between women" fandom and immediately highlighting that you think (a) pornography is inherently violent, and (b) that it's causing men to be violent towards women

Just accidentally reblogged a "Gender critical" "radfem" post about "Why can't pro-trans people define "what is a woman" without being sexist, why it is so hard to say 'adult human female'." Because I genuinely thought it was a pro-trans take, and had to re-read it, to get what they were actually trying to say. Because yes, to me I am female, I am a woman. I would say that I fit the definition "Adult human female." We disagree so fully on the definitions of words that we would say the exact same things and mean something completely different.
I do not understand what is sexist about saying "A woman is someone who identifies as a woman" It is literally treating all biological sexes the same. It's more inclusive since it includes intersex people. Do they think it's sexist because I'm saying "Anyone can be a woman but only biological males can be men"? Because I don't think that. My definition of a man is "Someone who identifies as a man."
There are women born with penises, and I'm not even talking about people with XY chromosomes who transition, I'm talking about people with XX chromosomes, who have both the phenotype and genotype to look perfectly female, but for whatever reason they have a penis instead of a vagina. They grow up being seen as a girl, facing the same misogyny and social pressures as any other AFAB person in our society. Why would anyone tell them that they aren't a woman that their experience is invalid, that they don't belong to this group, because of a few cubic inches of flesh?
This same person was claiming that the term "Lesbian" is being destroyed by people claiming that lesbians can like people with penises. As far as I know, lesbian is defined as "A woman who is sexually attracted to other women." If the woman from the example above is sexually attracted to women, why would you try to exclude her from the spaces designed to protect and nurture people like her? Do you think she should be forced into male exclusive spaces? Do you really want to throw intersex people under the bus, just to be able to exclude trans women because they haven't been seen as women their whole lives?
I know that I have benefitted from male privilege for most of my life, and still do whenever I decide to go out en masc, since I pass as cis. I mostly likely still benefit from it somewhat when I go out en fem, since I don't pass as female yet. I'm trying my best to stop benefitting from that privilege whenever it is safe to do so. (I'll readily admit to trying to hold onto it when it comes to situations where it's a matter of safety. I hope you won't begrudge me that, I understand if you do, but that does make you an asshole. I wish I could give you that same safety) And it is my responsibility to support the voices of my sisters when I can on issues that don't affect me. To not talk over them, and to raise up their views and voices on abortion, mensuration and mensural products, birth control, the wage gap, and women's rights.
Please don't misconstrue this as me saying "I'm a woman so all lesbians have to be attracted to me." because they don't. Everyone is allowed to not be attracted to other people for any reason. It's not something we can control (or do you say that sexual attraction is a choice now?) If you're not attracted to penises specifically, that's fine, if you're not attracted to me specifically, that's fine. If you're not attracted to trans people specifically, I'd ask you to make sure it's not because of a misconception of us as a threat, or any less of our gender than cis people, but if not, that's perfectly fine. But womanhood is not defined solely by biology. No one is not a lesbian because they're attracted to me, and I'm not not a lesbian because of how I was born. Or do you really want to go back to the misogynistic idea that all a woman is is a vagina, a womb, and a pair of tits?
