She probably can handle herself -- after all, Megumi was living on his own when he was... what? Seven? So it's not that strange to him to see a kid wandering about.

( a reminder: Megumi is a talented sorcerer. this is probably not the same case. )

He comes up right behind her and tilts his head. "Hey, are you here all on your own?" he asks, and a normal adult would probably say something like 'that's dangerous' or 'you should find your parents'.

But he has a less conventional way of looking at things.

"That's so cool!"
