I love that this specifically is so universal
Reading a book when you get to The Realization and you just have to Move. You have to Go. Schmovement. Most restrained iteration of the zoomies I've ever experienced

btw, for my writers out there that hate google but still rely on google docs- try CryptPad.fr
online doc editor, access your files from any device that can open a web browser
does spreadsheets and rich text (and more)
you can share view/edit links so your friends can read your wips, beta readers can proofread, do collabs with ur buddies, whatever
you can upload files and use it just like you would google drive with up to 1GB of storage completely free (which is more than enough for most people's purposes imo, but if you need more the upgrades are pretty reasonably priced)
AND it's encrypted and open-source (always a welcomed bonus)
it also plays nice with dark mode browser extensions (a life saver for me) unlike google docs.
also shout out to LibreOffice for being basically microsoft office but free and open source
god i love free programs
#talking#tips#i guess? idk what else to sort it under lmao#writing#also yes it is a choice to capitalize CryptPad and LibreOffice but not microsoft or google. it's about respect

Moving around a lot as a kid really sucks. It's traumatic and it messes you up for the rest of your life.
You miss out on having childhood friends. Every relationship you make is fleeting and you get used to that, you learn to expect things to end. It's hard to explain where you are from because you hardly remember these places. Language barriers cut you off. I spent almost my entire childhood refusing to talk to people because I got so sick of it and I'm never getting that back😭
#my parents are moving again and im sad abt it 🤕I thought we'd finally stopped this#I'm old enough now that I don't have to go with them but I did not expect having to move out so soon 😭#plus they might take my cats with them sniffle#ough not to mention changing schools constantly makes it hard to keep up with work. teachers hated me because I was slow.#talking

looking back on this 5 years later is so fun. i can tell now, my dough was stiff and overworked and needed much more kneading and resting. you can tell by the tears along the "grain" of the ring that the gluten strands were ripping instead of knitting together. i would love to retry this someday!
i need to post here more enriched yeast garlic sesame ring with like three kinds of flour because i ran out
#talking#bread#this was my first attempt at a loaf like this#i still have a lot to learn about bread

Kinda a vent, but also... huh???
Me five minutes ago:
I'm losing my freaking mind, yall 😭😭😭
Had a bad day emotionally today, and it sucked, but the powdered donuts helped.... ig??? The absurdity made me chuckle. I get kinda wacky when I'm sad T-T, but tomorrow I'll finally be able to get outta this stupid house and have some fun, so hopefully that'll help my anxiety. Just being outside helps, too. I'm stuck at home all day irl
#vent#talking#tf am i even doing anymore bro 💀#im going insane#its so funny tho its making me feel better

You knowwww the character fixation bad when you can't even pretend it's sexual. Like no actually I'm not thinking abt him getting beat up because it turns me on. I want to see him bloody and crying for entirely different reasons and somehow that makes it even worse

like how you got into working with textiles and what you like about it. Not a lot of artists use the range of mediums you do. It's cool <3
well i started out as an illustrator cause my high school cut funding for the arts (i'm talking only crayola tempera paints and colored pencils one year budget cuts) we straight up ran out of paint. so i did a lot of pencil drawings and eventually saved up enough for a wacom. that's how i got into college tho, was through digital art. and after like half of my freshman year i was like actually i think i want to change my major. so i switched from a illustration major to something my school called "general fine arts" which was for 1. students who didn't know what they wanted to do and 2. students that didn't care about what they were doing . but i basically used it as a build-ur-own-major major and got to try out a ton of different mediums.
my first foray into fibers was at the end of my freshman year when my friend eden (a fibers major) taught me how to crochet hehe <3 then from there i got into soft sculpture, then patchwork/quilting, then garment making (i actually have costumed an entire play for seven people (WITH COSTUME CHANGES) with only one other person before which is insane to think of).
i spent a summer weaving on a four heddle loom wiht a flying shuttle at the maryland renaissance fair in like 2021 so that's how i got a lot of weaving experience that i have nothing to show for otherwise lol
but all the while i've kept drawing too!!!
