Oh I was thinking about when answering but completely forgot to add. I always hc Tails having a degree in something related to the Chaos Emeralds. I honestly don't know what it would be specifically or who even would be evaluating him since it's kind of like getting a degree in magic. But I'm sure there's something. It's a fictional world so who knows what they have.

(Plus would be funny since people would expect it to be robotics or something. But on the other hand he does constantly do research on the Emeralds so it's not out of the left either)

*nods* I had another hc where Tails gets kinda embarrassed when friends call him stuff like that. (Since he's so used to not having honorifics attached when hanging with them. Plus, it's different than being addressed by the public [and fought for such a title].)

Like, Sonic obviously still call Tails by "Tails", but if he crashes a presentation or is being subtly cheeky [in a way to show his respect/support for his bro when he's feeling stressed], he calls him by said honorific. Tails is usually nonplussed by this, but gets Sonic's "hidden message" of doing it and it fills him with pride. (Knuckles on the other hand, uses Tails' titles to spite Sonic sometimes. "Where's your doctorate at, Mr. Speedy? :P Your best friend is outpacing you.")

I feel like there's very few situations (maybe like with some annoying jerks at GUN or something) where Tails might remind someone to use "Dr", (especially if they don't take him seriously), but even then only if they make him really peeved.

(Though Amy probably would beat him to it. She's also probably the one who gets the most embarrassing. I always see Amy as very well meaning but often too overeager or going overboard about it)

But generally he would be more "just call me Tails"

Aww this is cute. Sonic isn't very comfortable with touchy feely stuff so this subtleness is very in character for him <3
