What's everyone's fav music genre?
Cy likes bouncy video game tracks, with a penchant for Chiptune! Matthieu is a big fan of orchestral, mainly classical stuff or symphonic metal. Kwet likes metal, dubstep, dnb, anything LOUD and HARSH and EPIC. Taylah is big into the disco-funk scene, although a lot of pop music is also her vibe. She's done personal covers! Mocha like drum breakcore and electro-swing, anything she can bop his head to. Papaya likes disco, j-pop and j-pop, she loves bustin' moves and tik-tok dances to them!

I really do like pretty much anything, but my taste centers on stuff with intensity/energy and a good atmosphere, stuff that resonates well. so the genres i drift towards are EDM fusion, speed metal, prog rock, and folk. my favorite artists are Creo, Waterflame, and Cosmo Sheldrake, but I like MGMT a lot as well
favorite songs of all time are:
Stop the Music by Cosmo Sheldrake (Neo-Folk)
FLAMEWALL by Camellia (Symphonic Speed Metal)
Robot Stop by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (Prog rock)
Something Different by Derpcat, feat. Talurre (liquid DnB)
21st Century Schizoid Man by King Crimson (Prog rock)

good video game soundtracks
portal: amazing, really got me into harsh noise and electric sounding music. i swear this is the one video game ost i got really into like 10 years and never stopped liking and got me interested in several genres and a bunch of random artists like nin and lauren bousfield. also, the use of leitmotifs and just everything was so perfect, i was obsessed with the ost for a long long time. there were two videos i watched that went into this really well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujonS4kYtjk and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbZcQhB3Obc&list=LL&index=31 (the second vid is the one in spanish its so good and well done)
half life 2 (all episodes): i haven’t even played the games but the music is fantastic. seriously perfect mix of industrial and dnb, im not super into dnb but i like how its done in these osts. the intense soundtracks are great for studying
bastion: its ok but terminal march is one of the greatest songs in a video game ever, its on the same level as peper steak from off in that i will never forget it. i remember reading this comment thread on the song literally a few weeks/months after it was commented just to find artists who made similar stuff:
Tumblr media
further down someone said the artist described it as “acoustic frontier trip-hop” and i actually really like trip hop i gotta get more into it.
hades: a lot of songs on this ost sound very similar to terminal march bc of the instruments used lol but its definitely more metal which i really like. its just a good ost not much to say, i studied a lot to this one too
dbh: dont remember markus’ music too much but kara’s and connor’s were a bop. the more classical and symphonic/dramatic sound of kara’s was really good and connor had all the best music if we’re being honest. the idk techno sound of his regular theme and then the way it goes hard and all symphonic like kara’s in the really intense moments ie will you trust me is just sooo fantastic also run with me is the best song in the soundtrack.

Introduction
Hey everyone!
I'm Neltora and I'll be posting art and cosplays here!
Since all of my interests would be quite crammed in my bio, I'm gonna write them here!
So, my faves are:
- EDM (dubstep, witch house, wave, DNB, atmospheric dnb, breakcore)
- rock music (punk rock, hardcore punk, post punk, nu metal, gothic rock, symphonic metal)
- Anime (Bleach, Soul Eater, One Punch Man, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Shiki, Devilman Crybaby, Demon Slayer and Kaiju No 8 are my most favorite!)
- Cartoons (Rick and Morty, MLP)
- Movies (Coraline, Totoro, I Am Legend, Baraka, Samsara)
- PC games (Prince of Persia, Sonic, The Neverhood, Undertale and Deltarune, American Mcgees' Alice)
And that's all I can think of right now.

12, 13, 28, 30, 37, and 51.
What was my last dream about?
It was really weird. There was this massive rectangular dirty concrete building that went up at least a couple miles into the sky. For whatever reason, me and a few other people were forced to make it to the top. The problem was that each floor up was some fucked-up saw trap type nonsense. The first few floors weren't too bad. Jump over a gap, climb a moving ladder over a pit, etc. But they got worse as we went up. Hang on to a thin metal pillar hanging from the ceiling as the floor opens up into a deep pit until it closes again. Do parkour across slippery platforms high off the ground. Figure out a puzzle before the ceiling crushes you on the floor. Etc
What talents do I have?
No natural talents here. However, I'm skilled at drawing, video games, and that's it
What type of music do I like?
Typically DnB, Symphonic Metal, Rock (if mixed with one of the others) and EDM, typically instrumental and with a focus on melody more than anything else
How many pillows do I sleep with?
2
Favorite swear word?
Shit and bitch-ass. Motherfucker is funnier if abbreviated as mf
Am I scared of spiders?
Yes

7, 14, 28, 56 ^^
(I answered 28 already but I’ll copy and paste the answer here)
7. Do you have any pets? No, not yet. Probably once we replace all our furniture and get a bigger space, Ellie and I are thinking about getting a cat.
14. Are you psychic in any way? Well. This one time I had a headache in class and I focused really hard on the guy in front of me and my headache went away and he seemed to be more distracted than before. So I’m gonna call that a check in the psychic box. Seem fair?
28. What type of music do you like? When I’m trying to focus on something or just want something in the background for noise, I really really like electro swing (e.g. Caravan Palace). A lot of the time I use music as a catalyst for writing or working through ideas, though, and that’s usually using a lot of video game OSTs, or metal/DnB with symphonic elements. Really like Sakuzyo, Falkkone, Yoko Shimomura, Yuki Kajiura, and Hiroyuki Sawano as artists.
56. Most used word? You know, as a writer, you’d think I would know the answer to this question. I could cop out and say something like “this” or “a” or “I”, but that’s clearly not the interesting answer. I honestly try really hard to change up my vocabulary as much as I can, just like you should for sentence structure, so… I dunno. I guess I have a tendency to refer to things as tendencies? :P

http://www.dnbunited.com/single-post/2017/12/29/HOSPITAL-RECORDS-SICK-MUSIC-2018-COMPETITION-PRE-ORDER-NOW-🎙ACCAPELLAS-PRODUCER-PACK-🔊
So I’m sure I’m not alone when I say waiting for the release of Hospitals Sick Music 2018 felt like forever. Every-time there is a pre-order promotion with an alum that has so many great tracks from various artists the question remains the same if the album is finished and ready to drop why do I have to wait. Well let me tell you I receive most of all the major DNB releases weeks before they drop for critical review on my website DNB◉UNITED.COM  and I had to wait for this one until it dropped officially like everyone else. For me it was painful and caused me to totally freak out! When I heard that there was a new remix of London Elektricity’s “Just One Second” from their debut release Syncopated City featuring the greatest voice to ever be herd in DNB Elsa Esmerelda. I was like I just can't wait one more second for this fucking release already …give it to me lol! The album Syncopated City by London Elektricity was originally released on September 8th 2008. Just one second was remixed and officially released only once after that by “Apex” to mixed reviews. Some songs become anthems that in some sense become almost untouchable. Meaning it would be just poor taste to even try to fuck with the track in anyway, shape or form. Who wants to mess with perfection or be seen as some arrogant artist that thinks he can do better than the original. Not the case with Mitekiss’s remix of London Eleks Just one second. The song opens in a chill and haunting way. The unmistakable voice of Elesa Esmerelda comes through like an angel. To be honest is feels like going to church. There's a religious aspect to it. The track just makes you stop whatever your doing and pay attention as you slip into the songs seductive watery bass and liquid charm. This is a masterpiece. I have such a protective feeling about this song and I can honestly say Mitekiss did a brilliant job with his remix. Plenty of space in the track keeping things roomy so the voice floats on top while the minimal pads and piano support the lyrics like clouds leaving me with a supported feeling that all is going to be all right.Nice one! The entire release is without a doubt a banger of new original prime cuts from Hospitals A-Team. Keeno’s signature symphonic sound  herd on his recent release “All the Shimmering things”is more than evident in the opening track with “Comet”.Followed up with Danny Byrds “Devils Drop”.Super hot bass and a funky turn around this one is a return to what got me into DNB years ago. If you haven’t seen Danny's latest twitter post where he shows a number of city steps that have a special spot that if not careful will pull you under known as the infamous “Devils drop”Follow Danny on Twitter for more.No I’m not putting the link here for you because I want you to make an effort for your DNB  just like us artists do when we do all that's needed to bring you the next release. I think searching Danny Byrd on twitter isn’t asking too much. Definitely also check out Keeno’s remix of Fred v. & Grafix “Hurricanes”(wild love) Keeno lays that signature sound down again with jungle style drums and bell chimes making the song really come alive in a ambient way. Camo & Krooked’s Loving you is easy" VIP)  S.P.Y. remix drops right into that growing bass into a club style remix that will bring all to the dance floor. Sungaze from Reso is yet another track that will have DNB & Jungle lovers on they’re feet and moving to the beat.I love the colors and tones in this track and the beats are sick.If your looking for something a little more avant-garde put "Riding spaceships shadow child in search of 94 mix”Just another sick bonus included in this compilation of sick music. There is still many tracks to listen to and get your moneys worth trust me.Well done,Jason Bakes founder DNB◉UNITED.COM

THE CALAMITY OST.
The only thing criminal about the calamity ost is that nobody's ever heard of it unless I've told them about it.
Calamity is a massive content mod for Terraria that makes the game almost twice as big. With both music mods, the soundtrack increases by nearly 50 songs. Calamity content's songs were written by DM Dokuro, and vanilla content's songs were written by Turquoise. I'm gonna be talking about Dokuro.
Dokuro's side of the soundtrack is mostly boss themes, which consist mainly of DnB, symphonic metal, and EDM, with extra genres like chiptune or orchestra also used often. Dokuro adds 35 songs total to the base game. I'm going to highlight my favorites.
Guardian of the Former Seas
The mod's first, easiest boss shouldn't have a theme this intense. I feel it's this way to serve as a warning for the rest of the mod. If you know about it, then you know very well that a warning is necessary. Calamity is not forgiving.
Infestation (uncharacterized)
Infestation doesn't sound like a boss theme. It sounds like some dance track, or maybe a MegaMan stage track. It uses very odd sound samples, which adds to the very odd theming of the boss.
Return to Slime
This song is foreboding. It's ominous. It's dreadful. Fitting, because you're already fighting two *gods.* You're not meant to win this fight. The world is rooting against you. You push forward anyways. Congratulations.
Raw, Unfiltered Calamity
First, I want to say that this could've been the final boss theme and nobody would've asked for more.
y o u ' r e o n l y h a l f w a y t h r o u g h t h e g a m e .
This long song is mostly orchestral, but with enough going on and changing to keep the melody from getting lost on me. There's also a lot of motifs from previous songs hidden in here.
The Leviathan Trilogy
I'm biased toward this song(s) because it has a siren but hear me out.
This boss consists of two bosses: the Siren and the Leviathan. Which are exactly what you think they are.
The first part of the song actually plays before the fight starts. It consists entirely of the Siren singing and some low electronic instruments.
When you start the fight by attacking the Siren, drums and a guitar are thrown in and the Leviathan spawns.
It's clever. I like it.
Interstellar Stomper
This song replaced another song, which was for a boss that got replaced. So fittingly, this song is a remix of that one (cosmic disgust). But this one, rather than being heavily space themed, has some of the mod's best use of harsh guitar and electronic samples, especially because they mesh so nicely with the remaining spacey sounds.
Unholy Insurgency
Killing the gods of slime is one thing. The god of fire is another.
Like Return to Slime, this song makes you feel like you're doing the wrong thing, but it also comes nicely paired with desperation in a nice little heavy DnB package, complete with a tubular bells bow. This mod really likes those bells.
Scourge of the Universe + Universal Collapse
Let me give some light backstory for this one.
Before you fight this boss, you need to kill his three personal assassins.
This boss also happens to be an assassin himself.
In his free time, he travels across dimensions to look for gods to eat. For fun.
Now you're fighting him.
Good luck.
This theme is the mod's most iconic for how perfectly it came out. Almost ten minutes long with both parts put together, it still manages to make each part distinct from the others. Comprised mainly of Chiptune, Orchestra, and The Calamity Bells™.
Stained, Brutal Calamity
Remember when I said that raw, unfiltered could've been the final boss theme? It sort of is, in a way.
Stained, brutal is a gargantuan 12-minute orchestral cover of the original that's so long, in the YouTube video, Dokuro distinguished it into several different segments. One of which has lyrics.
This song isn't my personal favorite, but it's objectively one of the mod's best.
Not to mention this one's guitar solo compared to raw, unfiltered's. Really sets the tone. This boss fight isn't mandatory. You're killing her for power. Hope you're proud :)
Damn you @absol-lnk, I’m now hooked on the Calamity ost. What do you have to say for these crimes against my ears?
