I would like to start this particular post off by saying that I do not want to be dragged into Kataang vs. Zutara discourse. I didn't wanna be part of it back then, and I don't wanna be part of it now. It's exhausting enough to be caught up in discourse for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy 7 lmao. Thanks.
Anyway, I love to revisit Xiran Jay Zhao's Avatar videos because they're fun to watch, and I loved learning everything they had to say about the Chinese influences in the show and whatnot. Right now, the way they closed off the Ember Island Players discussion is weighing on my mind: in that they said that Team Avatar decided to forget about the play at the end, just like how the Avatar fandom wanted to forget...you-know-what. And this got me thinking...
Would it be wrong to interpret EIP as non-canon to the rest of the show?
I mean, having an episode where the characters watch their own story play back to them while in a theater? This is literally the plot for all those "characters watch their own story" fanfics, except in this case it's dialed up to 11 because their story is highly exaggerated with obvious bias from the Fire Nation. And in those fanfics, it's usually common practice to send the characters back into their respective worlds with their memories of watching their story erased, especially if they were pulled from the middle of their story to see their "future". That's basically this episode: Team Avatar got a break from being in their story just to watch a recap of their adventures capped off with a glimpse of a possible future (again, highly exaggerated with Fire Nation bias). And when it was over, they seemingly forgot about it and went back to the main story (I mean, I might need to look at the comics again to check and see if they actually mentioned the play in any of them, but for the sake of this post, let's assume they never did). I did always find it strange that these Fire Nation play writers somehow got enough information on Team Avatar to semi-accurately recreate some of their adventures with several creative liberties, even with the listed sources on the poster. I mean, "surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage"? Just how surprisingly knowledgeable was he, exactly? What did he know? 🤨
Now, the main reason I'm proposing this brings me back to the first part of this post. Xiran did point out that the way Aang reacted to the Kataang vs Zutara satire in the play gave off the impression that Aang was pressuring Katara, and as a Kataang, that is hurtful to the ship. But I'm not disagreeing with their point, that was a bad move on Aang's part, even though he was at least aware of his actions by the end.
But hear me out: if we're gonna consider this episode non-canon, that would mean we could also interpret Aang's actions as out of character for him. I mean, I kinda always did, even though I wasn't able to put it into words until now. Because, this was really the only time in the whole show that Aang was jealous over Katara having a moment with another guy. Like, he didn't have anything to say about Katara desperately wanting to help Haru - he did want to help her - nor did he say anything about Katara's obvious crush on Jet (though there was that small line about him saying that Sokka's idea that Katara should kiss Jet to jog his memory in Lake Laogai was a bad idea, but I'm choosing to let that slide because again, it was just a small line). And I'm pretty sure him glaring at Zuko as he and Iroh broke into the Crystal Catacombs had less to do with him possibly feeling jealous over finding Katara and Zuko standing close to each other, and more to do with the fact that...well, Zuko was still the enemy, and he just didn't want Katara hurt. Iroh had won him over, but not Zuko. Yet.
Hell, even Aang making a big deal over wanting to sit next to Katara in the theater seemed strangely out of character, because Aang was acting very maturely in just the previous episode, only for him to whine about not getting to sit next to Katara in the very next.
And you wanna know something else? Considering that Aang and Katara left their conversation at the theater both feeling very uncomfortable and tense with what their relationship currently is, it's rather sus that Sozin's Comet Part 1 opened with them acting like it never happened, right? Like, Katara offered him a drink with a smile, and he ran toward her to get it eagerly, with no sign at all of their tense feelings. And even before Aang blowing up at her and the rest of the Gaang near the end, they talked to each other calmly like nothing's wrong. You could argue that they reached a silent agreement to not talk about it for a while, but...you could also argue that there was nothing for them to talk about because it never actually happened. Because that episode wasn't actually canon. 😉
I don't know, maybe I'm just rambling for the sake of another lengthy post lmao. What do you guys think? Is it okay to interpret EIP as non-canon, or should we still look at it as a rough experience for Kataang shippers among meta commentary? I mean, I did always find it strange that Book 3 had 21 episodes while the previous two had exactly 20, so another reason to write EIP off as non-canon would mean that Book 3 would have 20 episodes, right? 😂
#avatar the last airbender#I've always been a Kataang and that might not ever change#but I have grown a soft spot for Zutara in recent years#so don't think of me as a hater lol

hewwo :3 if your requests are still open, can we get more over protective sapnap and techno
i see i wasn't the only one interested in the over protective bf trope ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° )
so here's some dnb and dreamnap content for you anon, i hope you like it (i actually had a lot of fun writing this!!)
Techno:
Phil tells him it's dangerous, that Dream couldn't be trusted.
Techno only laughs, ignoring the older man's warning as he headed for the door.
Dream was waiting for him again, at the peak of the mountain where they had first met, and this time around Techno won't have any difficulty finding his way.
He's memorized the route specifically for this reason, and he's sure he'd probably be able to get to their spot with his eyes closed.
Surprisingly, the realization doesn't bother him as much as he'd thought.
Maybe Dream wasn't the only sentimental one between the two of them after all.
"You might regret this." He hears one of the members of the syndicate say, faceless amongst the crowd until Techno spots a rather eye-catching blue cap worn over unruly brown hair.
The guy seems to be new, young, and just like any other upstart brat who wants to make a name for himself quickly: he doesn't know when to stop while he's ahead.
Techno brushes the comment off despite the voices telling him not to. He'd rather just leave now and meet up with Dream as soon as he could.
"I mean, talking with the enemy is pretty stupid in my opinion." The guy kept at it, stepping forward to catch everyone's attention with a condescending smile splitting across his face. "And this is fuckin' Dream we're talking about, that guy can't be trusted... Though I did hear he's pretty useful for something else. I mean have you seen those lips, I'm sure I could put them into good use when I–"
Techno doesn't even give the guy a chance to finish whatever he was saying, driving his trident straight through the guy's chest in one fatal strike.
"Anyone else got something to say?" Techno spoke quietly, turning to the rest of the members with a raised brow. There's a chill in his voice, an underlying edge that promised death if anyone else decided to counter. It was a complete juxtaposition to the far too calm demeanor he was exhibiting despite all the blood coating his face and clothes.
No one dared to say another word.
"Good." He smiled widely, flashing everyone with sharp white fangs as he began to wipe the blood staining his chin with the back of his hand.
"I hear anyone else talk about Dream like that and they'll be meeting the same fate." He adds as an afterthought before heading out.
He pushes through the door and makes his way towards the stables, the voices chanting in his head, all of them congratulating him for a job well done.
He hears footsteps heading towards him and immediately pauses to look back, readying himself for a fight.
"Mate." Phil spoke softly right behind him. He sounded worried, or maybe it was disappoinment. There's a look on his face that he only ever gives Techno when he's done something wrong. "What happened out there?"
Lowering his arms, he places the sword back to his side and considered Phil's question for a moment. "They were asking for blood, so I gave it to them." He answers, shrugging as he avoided Phil's gaze, hopeful that the older man doesn't see through his lie.
"We both know that's not true." Phil snorts, but there's no humor in his voice. "Now tell me what's really wrong, what's got you so worked up?"
"He said Dream couldn't be trusted."
"But you do."
It wasn't said as a question. Phil's smart enough to put the pieces in place and Techno doesn't doubt that the older man already knows far too much, and at this point, Techno wouldn't be able to convince the older man otherwise.
"Yes."
"Why?"
"He hasn't given me a reason not to." He answered nonchalantly, finally meeting Phil's gaze with his own, challenging the older man to say anything to counter his words.
Thankfully, Phil doesn't.
Sapnap:
There are two things in Sapnap's life that he's always been sure about: that the fire that resides within him is as dangerous as it is powerful, and that his best friend for nearly 15 years is insanely pretty.
Dream's good looks has always been the topic of many conversations, whether it be from their tightly knit group of friends or random strangers, Sapnap has heard every single compliment about Dream's bright genuine smile, his kind eyes, and his tender, scarred hands.
It's a topic that Sapnap would never get tired of hearing, not just because he'll take every single opportunity given to compliment his best friend, but also because he knows each conversation is secretly an added boost to Dream's surprisingly shy disposition.
Seeing the surprise and quiet elation in Dream's expression as soon as someone tells him they like his eyes or how he styled his hair is a sight Sapnap can never get tired of seeing.
Dream would unfold like a flower to spring at any genuine compliment, which is why seeing his best friend visibly tense from whatever comment the tall stranger talking to him had said has Sapnap standing up from his spot by one of the stalls, alarm bells ringing in his head to tell him to get to Dream quickly.
Sapnap didn't even bother apologizing when he accidentally bumps into someone in his haste, too focused on the way Dream seemed to close in on himself as the stranger stepped impossibly closer.
Red sparks ignite from his hands instinctively at the sight and he balls them into fists to try and stop himself from setting something on fire.
Whoever this fucker was doesn't matter, Sapnap thought darkly, no one messes with Dream. Not if he can help it.
"Come on, pretty boy. I just want your number." Sapnap could hear the guy saying and the way his eyes seemed to trail all over Dream's body made Sapnap's blood boil.
"And I told you already, I don't want to." Dream responded quickly, voice soft and unable to meet the stranger's gaze without his mask on.
Sapnap was an idiot for asking Dream to come with him without it. He knew Dream was still uncomfortable leaving the house without his mask and he still selfishly asked Dream to leave it behind because of his own selfish reasons.
“How about your name, then?” The guy was insistent, even going to as far as to try and grab Dream’s arm, but he didn’t get very much farther than that, because in the space of three seconds, while he was still mid-grab, Sapnap had him against the wall with his face toward it and his arm twisted painfully behind his back. Sapnap presses in hard and the guy lets out a cry.
“He told you to fuck off.” Sapnap said, voice dangerously low. His right hand was pinning both of the guy’s arms while his other hand was blazing with fire, levelled too closely to the other’s face. He could feel the guy flinch from the unforgiving heat beneath him, and the action only made Sapnap smile mirth.
“Sap!” Dream called to him, voice a strange mixture of surprise and worried.
“Let me go, man.” The stranger choked back a sob. “I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Sapnap snorts, moving his fire even closer until the the guy was screaming in his hold to try and get away. “Apologize to him right fucking now, asshole.”
“That’s not necessary, Sap,” Dream pleads, grabbing onto Sapnap’s shirt to get his attention.
Sapnap spares him a glance and Dream all but uses the opportunity to ask him again. “Sapnap, please.”
One word. It takes one word from Dream for Sapnap’s anger to dissolve completely, but not before he twists the guy’s arm until he heard a sickening pop.
“Remember this,” Sapnap started to say as he lets the guy go. “I’m not as forgiving as my friend over here.” He points to Dream as he stalked towards the stranger. “So, you try to pull this kind of crap to him again, I’ll fucking end you. Okay?”
The guy nodded frantically and Sapnap finally turns back to Dream, his expression completely changing as soon as he meets Dream’s gaze. His anger has already faded by the time he reaches Dream and Sapnap lets him lead the two of them to a different stall.
“You shouldn’t have done that.” He heard Dream saying.
“Why not?”
“He wasn’t worth it.”
“He made you uncomfortable.” Sapnap says matter-of-factly. “Of course it was worth it.”
“You’re worth it.” He adds right after, grabbing Dream’s hand and squeezing it for emphasis.
Dream doesn’t say anything after that, but the grateful smile on his face after hearing Sapnap’s words is something Sapnap’s sure he would never forget.
#ry.quests#anon#yoooo im all for protecting techno and sapnap#this was more for me than for anon tbh#dreamnoblade#dnb#dreamnap

Summary: Jake is a little bit obsessed with you, he needs to know more about you, going beyond what you show on the internet, but his biggest problem now is making you understand that he owns you, and that no one is taking you away from him.
Characters: Jake x reader (a little bit of Darkness too cuz, you know that I love him)
Warnings: Yandere Jake, stalking, possessiveness, lovesick, obsession, not exactly a happy ending, angst, language, use of straw (sorry turtles)
Word count: 2672
A/N: Here it is! I hope you don't hate me for it, I changed the name to fit more with the story, but the context is the same :)
(Most of my pics/gifs come from Pinterest, if I use a photo that belongs to you and you don't like it, please contact me and we'll take care of it)
Fascinating, that's the word Jake would use to describe you if he had to, he could spend hours trying to decipher you, trying to understand how are you able to like him without even seeing his face, without even knowing who he really was? You just know what he allows you to, but you've never been nosy, if you ask something to him and he says that he can't tell you, you just put it aside, not wanting to bother; and that's one of the things he most admires in you, the fact that you're so curious and yet, when he doesn't want to tell you something, you just try to let it go, making a mental note about the things you shouldn't ask, at least not over the phone.
Ever since you helped Jake to find Hannah, he've been more and more interested in you, how did you manage to help him to find his half-sister, and at the same time made him fall in love with you? Something he never thought would happen, suddenly from a time to another, he saw himself in love with someone who he thought be just someone that would help him to find his sister, just a means to an end.
But now, here he is, watching you from the window of the café you're in, he knows that he shouldn't, what would you think if you found out that he've been following you? He is pretty sure that 'happiness' would not be the right feeling, but he had no choice, he wanted- no, he needed to know more about you, and this time the internet wouldn't help him, for some reason you're really reserved, unlikely the most people at your age, you have social medias, of course but you rarely post something about yourself at them, the most interesting thing that the hacker could find about you was your school records and not surprisingly your track record is perfect, you never got bad grades, you never got into trouble, you are simply flawless. It makes him question, it's impossible for someone to be so perfect, you're sweet, kind, innocent and you always want the best for everyone no matter how bad someone has done you; you always forgive them. But you have flaws, everyone has, and that's what he's trying to find out, what are you hiding from everyone? And how are you so good at hiding it?
His blue eyes getting darker when he sees you hugging a man, who is he? And why do you look so happy to see him? You two talk a little before sitting down in one of the tables close to the window, the waitress soon come and both of you place your orders. The black-hair boy on the outside quickly grab his phone, sending you a message, just a 'Hi Y/N :)' waiting to see if you're going to answer him, he sees you pick up the phone and look at it for a few seconds before putting it back in your your pocket, did you just ignore his message? Okay, now he has no other choice then go inside.
And there he goes, entering the place and thankfully he could seat somewhere that you couldn't see you, but he could listen to everything, pretending to be doing something important on the phone. He orders a black coffee, nothing more. Soon you and the tall man started to talk while he paid attention to every single word.
"I am glad that we were able to meet, Y/N" he says with a grin on his face
"Wow, you really talk like this even in person, I thought that it was just you way to text" a giggle escaped your lips
"What do you mean?" he tilted his head
"You just, talk like you are in a really important dinner with the queen" you say resting your cheek against your hand while looking at him
"I think I never stopped to notice the way I speak, is this a nuisance for you?" he asked and you quickly shacked your hands
"Oh, no! That's not what I meant, I happen to like it, actually" he looked relieved
"You are really observant aren't you?" you smiled
"You'd be surprised how many times I've heard this" the girl came back with your orders and you thanked her with a gentle smile
"So, I haven't seen you in the forum lately" he took a sip of his latte
"Of course you've noticed" you giggle playing with your milkshake straw "I should have predicted" he let out a light laugh through his nose
"Is there a especial reason for that?"
"Well if I am being honest, lately I have been too tired to even scroll through the forum" you looked down playing with your fingers on the table
"It’s okay, you don't have to talk if you don't want to" he said putting his hand next to yours
"No, it’s just-" a sight left your mouth "Do you ever feel that everything around you is slowly becoming tiresome? How if the slightest effort to follow your routine makes you tired?" he nodded, you are not sure if he really understands you, or if he is just trying to make you feel better, but you continue "But for a few seconds, something makes you step out of your comfort zone, makes you hope again, but then it ends and everything becomes monotonous and boring again" you didn't even realized that your fingers are now entwined with his, you feel your face turn red and quickly let go of his hand "I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bother you" the hand that was holding his is now between your legs pressed against the soft upholstery of the seat you are on, and the other on the straw of your milkshake bringing it to your mouth.
"You don't have to apologize, Y/N, it’s okay you know that you can trust me" he said straightening his posture
"Yeah, I know, Dark, and I thank you for that, but I don't really want to bother you with this, we're here to have a good time" you smiled, and he nodded
"Let's chance the topic then. How about the guy you told me about? Are you two a couple?" you felt your face turn red again
"Jake? Well, not exactly, it's complicated" 'Not exactly? Of course, we are a couple' the hacker thought with himself
"Complicated?" Darkness asked encouraged you to continue
"Hum, none of us really made a official dating request, y'know?" Jake never thought about it that way, he really has to put a ring in your finger for you to know that you are his?
"But you like him, don't you?" he looked straight into your eyes, like he was trying to guess what was happening in your head
"Yeah, we haven't said 'I love you' yet, but, I really like him, and I think that he likes me too, it's just..." you paused lettings out a sigh "He is not really good at showing how he feels, he is not good at talking at all" you giggle
"Then why don't you take the first step?" he asked confused
"I'm afraid of being rejected." the man sitting in front of you looked surprised, so did the one sitting behind you
"Why would he reject you? You are amazing, anyone would be lucky to have you." a shy smile appears on your lips
"I just, don't think he has time for a relationship, he's constantly busy and moving, because of work" you completed
"Well, this is really a misfortune, but you know I'll always be here for you, don't you?" he said picking your hand
"Yes, I know, and I can say the same to you" he gave you a smirk "Why are your hands so big?" he laughed
"You really know how to change the subject very quickly don't you?" you smiled at him.
The man sitting in the table behind you got up putting the money on the table and got out of the café as fast as he entered, what made him bump into someone that he quickly ignored making his way back to the motel he was staying at, he was angry, how dare this random guy even touch you? Say that he's going to be there for you, you don't need anyone else, you have him, you may don't know it, but you are his, he always makes time to talk to you, and now you say that it’s not enough? You even dare to consider that he's going to reject you? What more he needs to do for you to be sure that he wants a relationship with you? When he finally arrived at his room, he slammed the door shut, sitting in front of the computer, trying to calm down, breathing heavy. He knows exactly what he must do for you to know that you belong to him.
You threw yourself on the bed, with a smile on your face, the day with Darkness was better than you expected, he is not all serious personally, or you just have the ability of making him less keyed up, your phone buzzed on your pocket and you grab it quickly not so surprising it was Jessy 'Hey, how was your little date?' you giggled after answering her 'Not a date Jessy, but it was really good to be honest' Jessy was incredibly supportive when you said you were going to meet your forum-friend 'I'll want to hear everything about it tomorrow' ' Don't worry, I'll tell you everything'. Soon you remembered that Jake texted you early and dialed his number wondering whether or not to call him, you bite your bottom lip before working up your courage, clicking the green button and bringing the cell phone to your ear, settling down on the bed, you start to wonder if this is a good idea right away thinking about just hanging up and pretending it was an accident, but as soon as the call is answered you feel your body tense up.
"Hum, hi" you say shyly "Sorry I haven't texted you earlier, I was kinda busy"
"It's okay" his deep voice make your whole-body shiver "How are you?" he asked
"I'm good, how about you?" why do you feel so awkward?
"Good" he says and keeps silent 'god, why is it so hard?' you thought while trying to think something to say
"I-" you are interrupted by his voice
"What were you doing?" he asked, and you frowned your eyebrows
"What?"
"You said you were busy, what with?" you blinked a few time before answering him
"I went out with a friend" you said and heard a 'hum' coming from him on the other side of the phone "Are you mad?" you asked apprehensively
"Why would I be?" his voice makes you feel butterflies in your stomach
"I don't know, we haven't talked the whole day, and you seem, rough" he sighed
"It wasn't my intention, I’m sorry"
"Don't worry" you heard someone knock at the door
“Oh, wait a minute there’s someone at the door” you said getting up, and walking towards the noise opening it, just to see a black hair boy standing there, with his phone on his ear
"okay" he said before giving you a little smile, your eyes widened and you felt your body freeze
"Jake?" you ask and he nods, that's all that he needs to do to see you quickly hug him tight, he looked a little surprised but then he just wrap his arms around you, feeling the good smell of your hair, you two stayed there for a while hugging in the doorway.
When you finally looked up at him your eyes were full of teas, happiness tears, but that didn't stop Jake of push the tears away
"What are you doing here? I thought you were with Lilly" you said pulling him inside and closing the door
"I've come to see you" he said looking at you
"You could have warned me, you know, I would have at least organized this a little bit" you say scratching the back of your neck shyly
"Then it wouldn't be a surprise" he says putting his backpack on the sofa "And it's not that messy at all" you two sat on the bed, your face is so red it looks like you're going to explode
"I have something for you" he says taking a little box of his pocket, opening it and revealing two rings your eyes widen and you quickly look up at him
"Are you serious?" you ask and he nods
"So, what do you say?" he smiles
"Jake, I-I don't know..." his smile disappeared and he looked at you confused
"What?" that's what you wanted a ring, an official request, wasn't it? Then why are you rejecting him?
"It's just- I like you, I really do!" you say as you see his reaction
"Then why don't you want to be with me?" he looks sad
"That's not what I said, I mean, you're wanted Jake, by FBI and by another hackers, I know that there's a lot of things that you don't tell me, I know that you're just trying to protect me but, I can't keep in the dark just trusting that you are doing the right thing" no, he's not sad, he's angry, he closed the box tightly, making you flinch
"Okay, look I don't need a fucking ring to prove that we are together, I just bought it because that's what you wanted, you are mine, and I don't care who the fuck is coming after me, I won't let anyone be on our way, you don't have to worry about it" you blinked a few times trying to process what he just said, he sighed putting his hand on your cheek "I love you, Y/N" he smiled again
"I'm not a pet, Jake, you don't own me" you took his hand off
"I think you should leave now" you said looking away
"I won't leave you" he said firmly
"Are you even listening to yourself?!" you said getting up "This is not love, Jake" he got up standing in front of you, the difference between your highs makes you feel intimidated
"I am lovesick, Y/N, can you blame me?" he says getting closer making you step back "I can't stop thinking about you everything that you say or do makes me love you more, I want you, I need you, why can't you understand that?" you now see yourself trapped between him and the wall behind you
"You're not lovesick, you're just sick, you are fucking obsessed! I would never be with someone who acts the way you're acting right now" instant regret
"If I can't have you, no one can, and I'll make sure of that, my love" he muttered taking his cell phone out of his pocket and showing it to you, your eyes widened
"What the fuck is wrong with you?! Let him go!" Darkness was tied to a chair with a cloth over his mouth, he didn't look hurt
"I'll let him go, when you accept to stay with me, otherwise, I'll kill him." you can feel the tears wetting your face
"You sick motherfucker" he pretended to be hurt
"You better choose your words better Y/N, I can kill him in just a snap" you looked at the picture again
"Fine, just let him go" he grinned as he put his cell phone away, he took the rings again and offered them to you, you looked at him before picking the ring and put it on your finger, he did the same
"You won't regret it, my love" he says pulling you closer and kissing you 'I already did' you thought with yourself.

Hygge
Summary: Y/N introduces Bucky to the little things that he missed out on since the 40s.
Warnings: Absolutely none, just fluff :)
Word Count: 3527
a/n: Hygge is a Danish word, and from what I can tell it perfectly encompasses finding happiness in the little things.
This request honestly had me smiling the whole time I wrote it. Thank you to everyone who gave me suggestions of things to introduce Bucky to (including my sisters who don't know why I asked them that question lol)
Also, I find happiness in looking at this gif so I would like to thank @thebritishstanfan for its existence on this app
You heard the door open just as you finished running the bath.
"Bucky!" You ran out to the living room, throwing your arms around him in greeting.
"Hi, Doll." He whispered into hair, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. He instantly relaxed at your touch.
"I have a surprise for you." You grabbed his hand, leading him to the bathtub. "I thought you might want to relax a bit, so I ran you a bath."
Just being in your presence was relaxing to him, but he wouldn't turn down a bath, especially one with the potential of you joining him.
"Are you going to relax with me?" He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively eliciting a laugh from you.
"Maybe later, this is about you right now." You smiled softly, eager to help him unwind.
He undressed quickly, lowering himself into the warm water as you searched through a shopping bag.
"Okay. Big Blue, Intergalactic, Love Boat, or Goddess?" You looked at him expectantly.
He stared at you, confusion evident on his face.
"Oh, do you want to smell them and then decide?" You questioned with a tilt of your head.
"Smell what?" His brows furrowed, mouth slightly agape.
"The bath bombs silly." You smiled brightly, bringing the bag closer to him.
"Why would I want a bomb in my bath?" He questioned your odd behavior.
"It's not a real bomb, Buck." You shook your head, randomly removing one of the bath bombs from the bag, Goddess. You held it out for him to take.
"Smell it." You instructed.
He was apprehensive in his movements, but slowly moved the purple ball to his nose.
"It smells like flowers." He stated plainly, waiting for you to explain more.
"Yep. Here, smell the rest of them." You handed him each of the bath bombs, waiting to hear his verdict on each one.
"Oh, that's surprisingly citrus-y." He held out Love Boat for you to take back.
"This one smells too clean." He shook his head, dropping Big Blue into the outstretched bag.
"I like this one." He held Intergalactic in his hand, smiling proudly.
"Perfect. Lower it into the water." Your eyes were filled with love as you watched him follow your instructions.
"It's fizzing." He looked at you, concern evident in his bright blue eyes.
"It's supposed to. It dissolves in the water, coloring the bath and also adding scent from essential oils." You did your best to explain.
"Why?" He narrowed his eyes in confusion.
"It's just... have you ever heard of hygge?" You waited for his answer.
"Yeah, I've heard the word. It's like feeling cozy and happy from little things." He looked to you for approval.
"Exactly. That's what bath bombs are for, at least to me. They make me happy, so I thought you might like to try one."
The bath water had turned a dark blue, glitter floating throughout.
"Nobody thought to explain bath bombs to me, I guess." He smiled at you, relaxing into the bath. "What else makes you happy?"
"You know what, I'll make a list of little things that I love and then we can spend a day together where I show them to you." You bit your lip in anticipation of his response.
"I'd love that." He grinned.
"Yay! I'm going to get started!" You quickly left the bathroom, leaving him to relax on his own.
-
"What's got you so excited?" Sam gestures to your bouncing knee.
"Oh, I didn't even notice. I'm just showing Bucky some things that he's missed out on since the 40s." You smile grew as you thought about the list you had made.
You were just about to find Bucky and show him the list when you had to leave for an impromptu mission.
You were definitely annoyed your plans had been delayed, but it made you a force to be reckoned with while fighting.
"So that's why you were so ruthless. You've got a hot date." Sam winked.
"Whatever you say Sam." You shook your head. "I've got to drop by Starbucks before they close. See you later!" You called as you ran from the jet, still in mission gear.
The disheveled state of your clothing and hair earned you some looks from the Starbucks employees, but you were too excited to care.
You quickly stopped in your room to change before heading off to find Bucky.
"BuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBuckyBucky!" You said his name over and over as you ran to the common area.
Skidding to a stop, you held up the drinks in your hands. "Bucky! Are you ready?"
He seemed to be in the middle of something with Steve, but abandoned it immediately at the sight of you.
"Sorry, punk. I've gotta go." He grabbed a drink from you, sliding his other hand into your newly empty one.
"Wow, jerk. You get a girlfriend and replace me!" Steve yelled after you in a joking tone.
"Don't worry Stevie. Nobody could replace you." You called back over your shoulder, dragging Bucky to the kitchen.
"Okay, I've got a few different categories. The first one we're going to tackle is food!" You smiled brightly, nearly bouncing in anticipation.
"Can you preheat the oven to 350 degrees?" You asked as you grabbed a bag from the freezer.
You swiftly dumped the contents onto the tray, shoving them into the oven while it preheated.
"Aren't you supposed to wait until it's hot?" Bucky watched as you slid around the room.
"Yes, but I've always been impatient. It'll be fine. I promise! While those are cooking, I've got a few other things for you. These are from the 90s."
You handed him a bag of flamin' hot cheetos, watching with bated breath as he opened it and sniffed the contents.
"They smell bizarre. Why are they so red?" He looked at the cheeto in his hand with confusion.
"It's the flamin' hot cheeto dust! It may be unnaturally red, but it's so satisfying to eat." You grabbed the bag from him, eating a cheeto of your own.
He eyed you carefully, slowly popping the cheeto into his mouth and chewing carefully.
"Doll, these are terrible." He deadpanned, grinning when you pouted.
"Bucky!" You whined. "You have to eat more than one for the full experience. It doesn't matter that they aren't the best flavor wise, there's just something about them that's addicting." You laughed, eating a few more cheetos.
"Alright, alright. I'll follow your lead." The two of you snacked as you brought his attention to the next item.
"Okay, these don't really go with the cheeto flavor, but they still make me happy. Starbucks only does holiday drinks around the holidays, obviously. These are my two favorite."
You handed him one beverage, gesturing for him to try it.
"Minty..." He waited for an explanation.
"Yes. Peppermint mocha!" You swapped the cups, letting him try the next drink. "That one is an eggnog latte."
"They're both pretty good, although I still like my coffee black." He placed the cup back on the counter.
"Yeah, I thought you might say that. There's just something about them. Probably because they're seasonal drinks. It makes me associate them with the holidays and spending time with friends and family and that makes me smile."
He pressed a kiss to your nose. "You are too cute."
"I know!" You scrunched your nose, knowing he finds it adorable. "Next item!" You presented him with three different packages of Oreos.
"Why so many?" He questioned.
"Because, they're different flavors. I now Oreos were originally produced in like 1912 or something, that's why I got different flavors."
"Actually, I don't think I've ever tried one." He eyed the blue package excitedly.
"Ahh, while I got double stuffed because they're obviously better than the regular ones. I've also got peanut butter and mint. Honestly, pretty mild flavors all things considered." You laughed, picturing the key lime flavor you avoided.
Bucky grabbed one of each, excited to try all three.
"I think the mint one is my favorite. It really goes with the peppermint mocha." He nodded as he spoke, as if he needed to convince himself.
"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself." You smiled, watching as he ate three more cookies.
Before he could reply, the timer went off.
"The dino nuggies!" You reached for the potholder, pulling the tray out of the over. "This is the last food item."
He looked at the tray, confusion clear in his eyes.
"Doll, are these just chicken nuggets?" He picked up a brontosaurus from the tray.
"Well, yes." You huffed. "But! They're shaped like dinosaurs!" You bit your lip in excitement, bouncing on the balls of your feet.
"So? They still taste the same..." Bucky clearly did not understand the hype.
"Right again. It's so much more fun to eat though. Gives you a childlike enthusiasm, even as a fully grown adult." He eyed you skeptically as he bit off the head of a dino.
He couldn't help but smile as you watched him, anticipating his reaction.
"Ya know, you might be right. That was weirdly satisfying."
The two of you spent the next few minutes eating chicken nuggets, hot cheetos, and oreos, occasionally sipping from the holiday beverages.
After quickly cleaning up the kitchen, you lead Bucky to your bathroom.
"Sit down." You gestured to the toilet.
"Why?" He still did as he was asked.
"Because." You answered petulantly. You filled a paper cup with water, carefully dumping it on his head to get his hair wet.
"Y/N!" Bucky jolted from the cold water.
"Sorry! I forgot it was cold!" You quickly plugged in the blowdryer, letting the warm air waft over his head.
"You know, if that thing was quieter, I think I could fall asleep right now." Bucky stated calmly as you ran your fingers through his hair, trying to evenly distribute the warm air amongst the hair.
"I know, right! There's something about someone else blow drying your hair that is so soothing."
You spent the next few minutes drying Bucky's hair and massaging his scalp.
"All done!" you exclaimed, unplugging the blow dryer and putting it back in the cabinet.
"Are you sure you don't want to do that again?" Bucky questioned, still sitting on the toilet.
"Yes. We've got more things to cover!" You pulled him off the toilet, nearly dragging him to your bed.
"Next category is entertainment, I guess." You brought out your laptop, certain apps already open to show him different things.
"We'll start with animals!" You were buzzing with excitement, and caffeine, as you opened two different browsers.
"Doll, animals existed in the 40s." He shook his head, endlessly amused by your behavior.
"I know that. Have you ever seen a Highland Cow?" You raised your brow, challenging his statement.
"I can't say I have." He shook his head slightly.
"Well, there you go. Animals it is. Actually, have you ever used Alexa?" You questioned him.
"No... Who is Alexa?" His confusion earned a laugh from you.
"An AI." You explained before bursting out into laughter again.
"Oh, like Friday?" He questioned.
"Yeah, but Alexa's not nearly as advanced. Here, watch this." You cleared your throat, making sure to speak clearly. "Alexa, show me pictures of Highland cows."
After a brief buffer, the AI responded. "Here are pictures of Highland cows." The google search appeared on your screen.
"So you can ask her anything?" Bucky questioned.
"Sort of, Friday knows way more. Alexa's good for little things though. Tony gets annoyed if you ask Friday to do too many small things because it can take up too much RAM and... You know what, it's not important." You decided against explaining since Bucky already looked confused.
You shifted your screen so he could see the many pictures displayed.
"Okay, so what's so special about a Highland cow?" He scrolled through the images, unaware of the smile forming on his face.
"There's just something about them. You'll find that same explanation for a lot of things I'm showing you, but it's true. They just make me smile. Look at how cute they are!" You emphatically gestured to the screen, nearly squealing at the adorable display.
"I actually see what you mean. Looking at them just makes you smile." He nodded his head thoughtfully, a small grin still pulling at his lips. "What other animal are you introducing me to?"
"Well, I assume you know what a puppy is." You said in complete seriousness.
"I do, indeed." He matched your tone, mocking the seriousness. He was really enjoying the playfulness you were showcasing.
"Well, here is a video of actor Tom Holland... you know Tom Holland, right?" You turned to face him.
"Tom Holland. Tom Holland... What's he in again?" His brows pinched together in thought.
"We've watched a few of his new movies together. Chaos Walking, The Devil All the Time, a few animated films, In the Heart of the Sea."
"Oh! The British one?" Recognition crossed his features.
"Yes! That one. Okay so, this is an interview of him..."
"Okay?" Bucky was more confused now than any other point of the night.
"Playing with puppies!" You're mouth dropped open in a wide smile, clearly excited about even the idea of puppies.
"I think I understand this one without even watching the video." he laughed, laying back with you to watch.
-
"You can't have pitbulls in England?" Bucky was affronted.
"I know. It's so sad." You pouted, still staring at the puppies on the screen.
-
"I have actually always thought puppies smell really good." He easily commented, agreeing with the famous actor.
"I know, Buck. I know." You shook your head playfully.
-
"Twinkies are pretty gross, he's not wrong." It was your turn to comment on his answers.
"I see your point." Bucky agreed as well.
-
"I definitely understand why this one makes you happy." Bucky smiled, kissing you on the cheek. "You know, he kind looks like Peter."
"I mean, maybe a little." You shrugged moving on to the next thing on your list.
"Still in the realm of entertainment, I've got some music for you." You knew Bucky was going to pout here.
"Doll, you know I'm just fine listening to my 40s music and calling it a day."
"Yes, but this is my list and you have agreed to be subjected to it." You queued up a few songs. "The first one, again, just makes me smile. I babysat a lot when I was younger, and there's something about this theme song that really hits different."
"Hits different?" Bucky stared at you like you had two heads.
"Yep. Just listen."
I was a girl in the village doing alright, then I became a princess overnight. Now I gotta figure out how to do it right, so much to learn and see.
You bobbed your head, mouthing the words as the theme song to Sofia the First played.
"I don't get this one." He figured honesty was the best policy.
"You say that now, but a week from now... You'll be singing it while you punch a bad guy in the face." You deadpanned, earning a laugh.
"Okay! Actual songs now." You took a deep breath, tring to prepare for his rejection. "Taylor Swift."
"Taylor Swift?" He repeated, waiting for you to say something else.
"To quote one of my favorite tik toks I've ever seen... 'If you don't like a single Taylor Swift song, I'm taking a crowbar, and I'm propping open your chest to see what's powering that thing in there, because it's not a heart.'"
"That's a bit extreme, don't you think." He eyed you cautiously.
"No. It's true. Her discography is so versatile, everyone can find at least one song they like." Your playful mood from earlier was still present, but hidden behind a slightly threatening glare.
"Which song are you going to play for me?" He was honestly nervous to hear it.
"Actually, you can pick. This playlist is songs of hers that make me smile, so pick whichever one you want." You smiled, eager to see his choice.
He scrolled through the playlist, reading each title carefully.
"Okay, You Are In Love or New Year's Day?" He asked your opinion.
"Both good choices, why those two?" You eyed him curiously.
"Well, You Are In Love because that's how I feel about you and New Years Day because you put it last in the playlist, so I know it must be one of your favorites."
You couldn't hide the way his words made you smile if you tried.
"I love you so much." You kissed him quickly. "Go with New Year's Day, I think it will resonate with you a bit more."
He smiled, tapping the screen gently to play the song.
The two of you remained quiet through the song, just enjoying the soft melody and storytelling.
"Please don't ever become a stranger whose laugh I could recognize anywhere." He quoted when the song ended.
"I'll be there if you're the toast of the town, babe, or if you strike out and your crawling home." You sang softly in response.
He cleared his throat. "I think I understand this one."
"I'm glad. I mean, it obviously doesn't have to be Taylor Swift, but everyone should have at least one song that makes them smile." You leaned into his embrace, enjoying the time spent together.
"What else have you got for me, Doll?" He held you close.
"Two more things. Here." You handed him two slightly sticky balls.
"What the hell is this?" He laughed, prying the toy from his metal hand.
"Throw it at the ceiling." He did as he was told, following your lead.
"Friday, can you turn off the lights?" You asked the AI.
"Of course, Ms. L/N."
The two of you were quickly shrouded in darkness. The balls you had thrown at the ceiling were glowing.
"How do we get them down?" Bucky whispered, his voice matching the darkness of the room.
"Just wait..." You stared at the ceiling, waiting a few seconds before the balls began to fall.
"So you just throw it and catch it?" Bucky questioned, again following your lead.
"Yep! It's weirdly relaxing after a long day." You smiled, catching and throwing the neon balls over and over again.
"You're absolutely right." He laughed, catching the blue ball before it could hit him in the face. "Especially just laying in the dark."
"Exactly! I'll go get the last thing, you can keep going." You pressed a quick kiss before heading to the kitchen. You tossed a few stuffed animal heating pads into the microwave.
While they were heating up, you grabbed yours and Bucky's water bottles to fill up with the fridge filter.
The beep sounded, indicating you could grab the animals and head back to Bucky.
"I'm back!" You called softly as you closed the door again. The room was still dark, causing you to turn on the lights. Bucky was frantically catching and throwing all four balls.
"It's a bit less relaxing when you've got to keep track of so many." He laughed as one fell and stuck to his elbow.
"Yeah, more like a game then." You smiled, happy to see him having so much fun.
"So, what's the last thing?"
You held up a bright yellow duck and an equally bright green frog.
"Stuffed animals? Doll, how old do you think I am?" He laughed lightheartedly.
"They're not just stuffed animals. They're also heating pads." You smiled, handing the duck to Bucky.
"What do you do with it?" He questioned.
"Men." You couldn't help but mumble it under your breath. "Well, after a mission, when you're feeling sore you can cuddle with one of these and it helps soothe the ache."
"Really? Nothing else you've shown me has been this practical." He chuckled again.
"That is true, but the fact that it's a stuffed frog makes me happy, even after the worst day."
"I guess you have a point." He pulled the duck close to his body, snuggling with it. "I like cuddling with you better." He pouted.
"I like cuddling with you too Bucky. Promise." You turned to face him, holding the frog to your chest with one arm.
"Thank you for sharing all this with me. I honestly don't remember the last time I smiled this much." He looked at you fondly, still smiling.
"Me either. There is one more thing that makes me really happy, though." You whispered.
"Yeah, what's that?" He watched you eagerly, waiting for the last thing.
"You." You watched his smile grow. "Even just spending ten seconds with you makes me happy after a totally shit day."
"Y/N, you make me happier than anyone I've ever met, Steve included." He joked. "I love you so much. More than I ever thought I could love someone."
"I love you too. So, so much." You rested your head on his chest, cuddling as close as the stuffed frog allowed. "Goodnight, Bucky." You whispered softly, eyes already falling closed.
He pressed a gentle kiss to the top of your head, sighing contently.
"Goodnight my love."

Flower | Drabble 5
; Hoseok x Reader
; Genre: Fluff, slight angst
; Synopsis: You finally decide to take a dip into the world of online dating and find the Flower dating app. One of the top matches for you proves to be a guy who looks to be your complete opposite; tattooed, pierced, a metalhead and oh…incredibly handsome. What happens when you throw caution to the wind and reach out to him?
; A/N: Another little drabble! It's hard to give this couple up 🥺 this is also a scene that was basically deleted from the main series, so it's been given a time jump! I didn't want people to think it was a cliche moment (it kinda is) but...I think this gives some good clarity on how the MC has grown! Unedited as on mobile.
-
"Do you think your mom will like this?" You query, brows farrowing together as you turn the elegantly decorated plant pot around in your hands. It would match her current living room decor and she loved gardening.
"Hmm? Oh, yeah...why?" Hoseok asks with a distracted tone, his attention grabbed with the collection of fake plants. The two of you had come to a home decoration store as you wanted to redecorate your bedroom. He wasn't hugely interested in how it was done and you were pretty sure that he was here just to spend time with you.
Which was sweet and you loved that he was content to just be with you, but he wasn't being very helpful right now.
"...her birthday? It's next week, we're taking her out for dinner, remember?" He pauses for a moment before his lips turn into a circle.
"Oh yeah, shit. I need to book the table for that." Before you can say anything else, he's pulling out his phone and tapping away on it.
Sighing, you place the pot into the cart and begin to look with an eye for your bedroom. You wanted to inject more plants into the house but Kasumi just tried to eat real ones, so you were stuck with fake plants.
"How about C'est Bonne? Wait no, she doesn't like French food. Hmmm, Italian feels boring though. Do you think she'd like Thai, I think that'd be alright." Hoseok is muttering to himself as he scrolls and you smile affectionately.
To say he'd completely forgotten, you weren't surprised that he was throwing himself into it now.
"Hoseok?" For a moment, neither of you respond. You, because it wasn't your name and so you weren't conditioned to respond to it, and Hoseok because it wasn't your voice.
His head jerked up in confusion, gaze going to you first before looking around. The voice calls again from your left and you turn to see who it is, wondering who was calling out your husband's name.
What you didn't expect is for Hoseok's face to open in surprise, shocked recognition taking over his expression. Like, real shock and you're even more confused and intrigued.
"Yoona?" He asks, his tone slightly unsure and you realise it's obviously someone he once knew. You've heard him mention the name at some point, but you can't remember why you know it.
"It is you! Oh my god, it's so good to see you. How long has it been?" The woman in question, Yoona, smiles brightly and you observe that she's pretty. Very pretty with the kind of hair you see in commercials.
She's wearing plain black jeans that conform to her legs alongside a subtly flowered shirt. Her black pea coat tops it off with a matching deep purple scarf and beanie to cope with the colder weather.
"Err...a while." Hoseok laughs, his hand coming up to rub at the back of his neck and you recognise the awkward movement. He's a little uncomfortable and your stomach turns as you wonder if this is one of his hook ups.
Surprisingly, you'd never met one of them given how prolific he'd been. Though you did wonder how many of them had also been drunk and probably didn't remember him at all.
Still, you feel the urge to comfort him and move closer, resting your hand on his back in assurance. He straightens a little at the touch before relaxing into you, his arm coming to wrap around your shoulder and hugging you into him a little more strongly than you'd anticipated.
"Oh, Meeps this is Yoona, the girl in college who got me to sort my shit out?" Hoseok's brows rise as his voice turns dry before he looks back at Yoona. "This is Y/N, my wife."
Her eyes flick over to you and surprisingly enough, she doesn't give you a once over. You almost expected her to view you as some kind of threat or rival, but the reassuring smile she gives makes you realise how silly that would be.
"Really? Oh my god, Hoseok! I'm so happy for you, and for you, Y/N! I always knew he had the makings of a good partner, even if he couldn't see it. I'm glad you finally took my advice." Yoona says before reaching out to shake your hand politely.
Surprisingly, it's not nearly as awkward as you'd think to meet one of your husband's ex-flings. Especially one who'd had such an influence on his life.
"Erm, thank you. Hoseok's talk about you sometimes, thank you for helping him back then." You say shyly, feeling your stomach twist uncertainly as you take your hand back and play with your fingers.
Just like he always has, Hoseok instinctively knows when you're not comfortable and he reaches for one of your hands.
"I've told her lots of things over the years," He grins before kissing your forehead. "My therapy was very good, I promise."
That's directed to Yoona who laughs sweetly and nods in appreciation.
"Good, good, I'm glad. Anyway, I've got to be going but...it was nice to see you! And I'm really happy that you've found someone. I'd love to get to know you better but I'm sure you're amazing. Gotta be to have captured this guy's attention." She smiles and gestures towards you, causing you to feel hot with embarrassment.
"Erm, thank you." You mutter, unsure of how to react. But you're surprisingly okay with her and don't feel any form of threat, even with her important history with Hoseok. It was clear there were no feelings between either of them and you genuinely felt that she was a good person.
Before either of you could say anything else, she said her goodbyes and headed towards the cashiers at the front of the store. There was a brief moment of silence as you both tried to compute what had happened and Hoseok recovered quicker than you did.
"Are you okay?" He asked quietly, his words laced with concern that matched the worry in his eyes. You knew why he was feeling like that - Yoona was beautiful, once upon a time he'd slept with her and she'd helped him realise how to move forward. Or at least take the steps there.
If this had happened in the first year of your relationship then you probably would feel disconcerted, unsure what to think about this blast from his past. But you weren't that girl anymore, and whilst you still had your anxieties, you had full and complete faith in Hoseok.
Plus, he'd been as blindsided by her as you were.
"Yeah, I'm fine. It was nice to finally meet the famous Yoona, she seemed nice." You comment, slipping your arm through his and leaning against him as you both walked towards the bedroom section. Bring so close to him meant that you could practically feel him relax at your words.
"Good, good. I didn't...well I didn't know what to think, really. I was worried you'd be upset or something." Hoseok admits, trailing his hand down your coat sleeve until he can grasp your fingers between his own.
"No, I know all about your history and it was only a matter of time before we met someone. And like I said, she was sweet." There's still some uneasiness in his demeanour though and you squeeze his hand before gently poking the back of it with a finger.
The movement makes him smile and you feel relief at him looking a little happier.
"Seriously, I'm okay. Are you okay?" It was probably a big thing to accidentally meet up with such an important fling, but but could understand why he wasn't comfortable with it all.
That was a part of his past that he wasn't entirely happy with colliding with his very happy present. So you just held on to him as he worked through his feelings.
"Yeah...yeah I am. It was just weird to see her, you know? Never expected that." He let's his free hand trail over a soft, velvet cushion idly and you hum in contemplation.
"I get it. But don't fret over it, okay? I'm fine with it all and...well, it was nice to meet the woman who helped to bring the Hoseok I know to life. Or at least, started the process. Without her, we wouldn't be here."
Hoseok is silent as he considers that, his lips twisting before he licks at his lip ring and nods.
"Yeah, you're right. She's the one part of my past that I'm okay with you seeing in person. I should've thanked her…" Muttering, he sighs before shrugging with a lopsided smile.
"Oh well, let's carry on shopping. Your decorations await! And I need to finish booking that table...I'm actually thinking of maybe trying that Lebanese place…"

Ski Trip
Summary: when the reader agrees to go on the annual ski trip up to the mountains with her boyfriend, Luke, and her friends she expected to go looking at mountains. But what she ends up doing doesn't require much hiking
Pairings: alive!Luke Patterson x reader
Words: 2.4k
Warnings: THIS IS NSFW FOREPLAY SMUT PEOPLE
If any of you have ever had a conversation with me and you read this fic, no you didn't
...........................................
"What are you two doing tomorrow?" Julie asked you.
You rolled into your stomach and propped your head up in your hands. “I’m not sure, but I know what we're doing next weekend, unfortunately.”
That peaked Julie’s interest, you weren’t usually much of a complainer. “Why unfortunately?” she questioned.
“Because I'm going on the Ski trip with him,” you whined. You wanted to spend time with Luke, you just didn't wanna go on the trip.
“Oh my god, you get to go?” she excitedly asked.
“Not helping,” you commented.
Julie smirked. “Sorry not sorry, I’ve been trying to get you to go for the past two years. And the first year, I couldn’t even go,” she pointed out.
“Yeah, so why would I have gone if you and Flynn weren’t even gonna be there?” you asked. As if on cue, Flynn walked down the stairs.
“Heard you guys were talking about me, all good things I hope?” she spoke as she walked down the stairs.
“Always,” you said, somewhat sarcastically.
She motioned for you to scoot over so she could have some space on the couch.
“So, if we’re done talking about me, did I hear someone say something about the ski trip?” Flynn questioned.
Before you could open your mouth Julie was already telling Flynn about how you were coming on the trip.
“You are?” Flynn squealed.
You tried to not get excited from their joy, but it was impossible; they were contagious.
You shyly smiled. “Yes, I’m going.”
“Yayyy!” Flynn yelled. The girl was practically jumping up and down.
“Oh who are you sharing a room with?” Flynn asked.
“Luke and I are,” you answered.
The girls exchanged a look you knew all too well.
“Shut up!” You covered your face with a pillow.
“We didn’t say anything!” they protested in almost complete unison.
You could feel your cheeks burning up. “Yeah, but you thought it,” you argued.
“Well whether we thought it or said it, you’re sharing a room with your boyyyyyyyfriend,” Flynn sang.
“If you guys start sing teasing me, I will leave,” you threatened.
“Don’t you need us to pick out your outfits?” Julie remembered.
“Oh, shit, yeah.”
“So in other words you have no leverage?” Flynn realized.
“I’m your ride home,” you reminded her.
“Outfits it is, but do not think we will be forgetting about this!” Flynn cried as she walked up to your bedroom.
“Whatever Flynn!” you yelled back.
“She’s right you know,” Julie slyly commented.
You just huffed in response.
The two of them did a very good job at helping maximize your california wardrobe for the mountains. Granted you had to go buy a couple things in advance, but overall, you felt confident that you could bear the cold of the mountains.
“Alright, I think you’ll survive,” Flynn proclaimed.
You closed your suitcase, and surprisingly you didn’t even have to sit on it.
“Thank you guys, I really appreciate it.”
“No problem, it was our pleasure, especially since you’re actually coming this year,” Julie said.
You dropped them both back off their houses and they were nice enough to spare you from embarrassing you in the car ride.
...........
You heard someone creeping up behind you as you grabbed your stuff to head to your second class, and as you felt arms wrap around your waist you knew it was Luke.
You turned to face him. “So I was thinking if we get one of the window rooms then we can see the snow when it falls,” he proposed.
Your face lit up. “Wait, it’s gonna snow when we’re up there?” you excitedly asked.
He happily watched your beaming face “I mean that’s what the weather said.”
“Oh my god! I haven’t seen snow since-” you paused, “actually I don’t remember, but it’s been awhile.”
“Well there’s a good chance that’s gonna happen,” he said.
“You know you’re actually required to show up to school for them to allow you to come right?” you teased. Though originally it had been a legitimate concern.
He licked his lips. “I’ve been coming everyday so I could come on this trip,” he defended himself.
“Coming to school and staying in school are two very different things Patterson,” you playfully reminded him.
He leaned in closer and his voice got quieter. “And what’s that?”
You resisted the urge to swallow and pulled away from him. “One is what I’m doing right now, because I need to go to class.”
He pulled his lips tightly before sighing. “You got me there,” he admitted.
“I always do,” you said, as you started walking off. You turned around to see him still standing there, you would be lying if you said it didn’t bring you joy.
“Go to class Luke!” you yelled back at him.
“You got it!” he saluted you and walked the other way.
You playfully rolled your eyes. That boy would be the death of you, but you supposed there were worse ways to go.
That Friday you didn’t have any school since the school board figured it was pointless to send a bunch of kids to school the day before they went on a ski trip. There wasn’t going to be any actual learning anyway. You usually would’ve spent some of the day at Julie’s; which you did, but today it wasn’t in the studio for practice. You figured since she had helped you pack, you could at least keep her company as she packed.
“So who are you sharing a room with?” you asked her, as she sorted through her jeans.
“Me and Flynn just figured we’d share one,” Julie said offhandedly.
You chose to not comment on how she was obviously forcing herself to be casual.
“Ah I see, do you know if Alex and Reg are coming?”
“Yeah, and get this Alex and Willie are sharing a room,” she gossiped.
“I’m calling it right now, they're gonna start dating by the end of the weekend,” you hypothesized.
“I 100% agree.”
The two of you spent the next hour or so just discussing what sort of things you wanted to do while you were there over the weekend, and of course how much Flynn was running around her house frantically changing outfits. You actually were excited about going, not necessarily about the actual trip, and about dealing with certain classmates, but you were looking forward to being with Luke and hanging out with your friends.
For some reason when you woke up the next morning you were a little nervous, you supposed it was because you had never been skiing or snowboarding for that matter.
You got ready pretty minimally considering you were soon to be on a five hour bus ride. None of your family was up yet so when Luke pulled into your driveway you slipped out the door.
“You got everything?” Luke asked.
“Everything except my chill,” you responded with a smile.
“You’re gonna be alright, and you don’t have to do anything there you don’t wanna do, so if you don’t wanna risk a broken leg, then don’t.”
Despite your anxieties, you knew he was still right.
“Thanks Luke.”
“Anything for you.”
When the two of you got to the bus everyone else in your group had already gotten there. You, the rest of the band, Flynn, and Willie had made a plan for the bus.
“We have arrived,” you announced to your friends as you and Luke took your spots.
“And just in time too, people kept trying to take your seats,” Willie reported.
“Thanks for saving them,” Luke responded.
The two of you continued chatting with the rest of your friends until the bus driver instructed everyone to take their seats. The majority of everyone slept on the way up there but you were too anxious to get there to sleep. Instead you watched youtube as Luke napped on your shoulder.
“Luke, Luuuuuuuuuuuke, Luooooooooooooooke,” you spoke. You were trying to wake him up quietly but you were starting to realize that wasn’t going to work.
Luckily Reggie was awake. “Oh he’s a heavy sleeper, that’s not gonna work.”
Reggie basically got himself so he was dangling off both sides of his chair before yelling in his ear.
Luke awakened with a jolt, looking fairly startled.
You weren’t entirely sure whether you should laugh, throw Reggie under the bus, or maybe both.
“What happened?” Luke asked.
“I woke you up,” Reggie answered innocently.
“By yelling in my ear?” Luke groggily questioned.
Reggie quickly tried to backpedal himself out of this situation. “I mean I don’t think the method is relevant, the important thing is that you’re up.”
Luke wasn’t awake enough to deal with the situation at hand. He just chose to lay his head back on your shoulder.
By the time you had made it to the hotel you were ready to collapse. Luke laughed when you flung yourself onto one the beds.
“Should I be worried?” he asked, mostly as a joke.
“No,” you smiled and rubbed your face, “I’m just really tired.”
“You couldn’t sleep on the bus?” he guessed.
“Yeah,” you groaned.
“You know what would help?” he asked.
“Do tell,” you inquired, from your face down position.
“This,” he said, before he jumped on the bed beside you. He curled his warm body around you and pulled you in.
“Better?” he asked.
“Yes,” you responded. You attempted to melt further into him. You laid there in a comfortable silence for a couple of minutes.
“Luke we should probably go do things,” you suggested. You attempted to get up but he pulled you back down.
You stayed with him but you turned around so you were facing him. “Luke?”
“Yes, y/n?”
You bit your lip, you had to admit, it was pretty cute. “Are you going to let me get up?” you asked.
He looked into your eyes lovingly. “Well if you’re trying to leave then no.”
“So that would be a no.”
“Well if you look at it that way then yeah,” he admitted with a mischievous smile on his face.
“Luke come o-” the rest of your sentence didn’t quite make it out. Your smart boyfriend decided to use your weak spot on your back against you.
“You wanna go now?” he teased.
“Not necessarily,” you lazily responded.
You could feel your willpower fading as the light stokes up and down your back sent a calm wave of chills through your body. But you knew if you didn’t use your chance now there was a good chance you weren’t getting out of that bed today.
“Luke come on we gotta go,” you whined. It’s not like you weren’t enjoying yourself, you most definitely were, but your friends had to be wondering where the two of you were.
“Alright, alright, fine,” he gave in.
“Can I have a kiss though?” he sweetly pleaded.
You gladly agreed, but you realized his plan of not leaving the room hadn’t quite ended when the kiss started leading down to your jaw.
“Luke you’re not sly,” you laughed.
“Oh is that so?” he asked, as he moved down to your jawline.
You nodded your head.
“Then why aren’t you moving?” he purred.
Okay, so he maybe had a point.
“You can tell me to stop,” he reminded you. He looked into your eyes for any sign of you wanting him to stop and waited.
“Unless of course, you don’t want me to stop?” he asked, with the biggest smirk you had ever seen on his face.
“Not necessarily,” you said, completely avoiding his eye contact.
He crawled over top of you, “What was that princess?” he asked.
You forced yourself to look into those beautiful blue eyes, and that devilish smile. “No, I don’t want you to stop Luke.”
“That’s what I needed to hear.” He bent his head down at your jawline, this time starting on the side of your jaw bone. He sucked at the skin and you bit your cheek down on a moan. He moved down from your neck pressing harder and making it harder for you to control yourself.
“Luke,” you moaned.
“Yes?”
“No marks.”
He smirked. “It’s a little late for that one.”
You rolled your eyes at his antics. “You suck.”
“I don’t think you're exactly in the position to be saying those sort of things,” he warned.
You raised your eyebrows. As if he thought you would back down that easily. “Really?”
He licked his lips and shrugged.
“Make me,” you insisted.
“Bad choice of words,” he threatened. In a second his shirt was off and one of his arms held your’s down and above you.
This time he noticed when you swallowed. “Nervous?” he asked, his lips quirked up.
He might’ve been starting to get to you, but you weren’t going to admit to it. “You wish Patterson,” you tested.
His head dipped down towards your collarbone. He lightly sucked on it and gradually increased his intensity until your body unwillingly gave you away and you gutturally moaned.
He jutted his chin out, the fire in his eyes on stage was nothing in comparison to this. “What about now?”
“Yes, Luke,” you groaned out.
He somehow managed to pull your shirt off with you laying down, and managed to unhook your bra with minimal difficulties.
His mouth softly sucked on the very top of your nipple.
“Fuck,” you moaned.
As he continued sucking at a rapid rate you felt the knot in your stomach twisting further, just as you thought it was going to release Luke stopped.
“How much do you want it?” he asked as he slowly pulled your pants down.
You were not going to give him the satisfaction of begging.
You felt a finger glide across your clit ever so slightly and back and forth he kept going, ever so slowly.
A whimper escaped your lips.
“Beg for me, that’s all you have to do,” he promised. He was most definitely enjoying himself.
He moved back up to your nipples but instead he moved as slow as he could, he was trying to break you.
“Come on princess, you know you want it,” he taunted.
A sole finger swiped down your pussy and your breath hitched.
“Luke please,” you moaned.
“What please? I think it has something to do with fucking you silly,” he hinted. He once again crawled over top of you to be able to see your face. Like a predator stalking prey.
“Please rail the shit out of me Luke,” you whined.
“That was all you had to say princess.”

Meant To Be || One For Every Billion
6. By My Side | Pt 4
"You've got to be kidding me."
Your group has already grabbed a table on the second floor balcony, overlooking the crowded paths below, at one of the nicer restaurants at the heart of the park's main food district and you've been checking updates on your phone after messaging Tobio and Hiro when Oikawa's unamused voice breaks through your thoughts.
You glance up to your left at him to see a look of disbelief on his face and when you follow his line of sight, you see the two stragglers everyone has been waiting on heading your way, weaving through the tables to reach you all.
"Tobio!" A smile breaks across your face at your cousin's grumpy visage. He seems a little closed off, studying the additions to your group with what you think is apprehension.
"Tobio?" Toru's head literally snaps towards you in question.
You turn to him as Tobio and Hiro come to a stop and pull out the two empty chairs at your table.
You hear Iwa murmur a low, "Oh shit." but you have to dismiss it because you're clearly missing something.
"Yeah," you watch Toru with a question in your own eyes, "My cousin, Kageyama Tobio. And Hiro, Hana's brother.."
Iwaizumi is actually facepalming while Maki and Mattsun are chuckling, but you can't see what's so funny so you continue with the introductions, "Tobio, this is-"
"We already know each other, Y/n. I went to school with Oikawa-san and Iwaizumi-san until they graduated this year."
Okay, small world. All you can really say while you digest this information is, "Oh."
But then, "Hiro doesn't know them... right?"
"No, not yet!" Hana's a lifesaver that steps in to make introductions with the rest of the guys while you chew it over. There's clearly history here, right?
Then, you kind of get an answer because Toru turns to speak with you while the others greet each other, "So let me get this straight. Ushiwaka and Tobio-chan are both your cousins?"
"Um. Yeah. Pretty much." You watch his eyes narrow on your response.
"Pretty much?"
"Yeah, Tobio's actually Shin's cousin but they're both more like brothers to me. I guess it's the same situation with Toshi but on my dad's side... we're not directly related either."
You can see the understanding light up his eyes for a moment, "You choose them, huh? As family?"
"Exactly."
"Interesting taste. So family but not."
"No. They're definitely my family, no question. Nothing will ever change that."
You and Toru stare at each other for a moment as you both try to work out what's going on in the other's head and where the lines are. When he doesn't reply back, you raise an eyebrow and prompt, "So.. you and Tobio..?"
He lets out a laugh that might be just a little bitter, "Please, there's no me and Tobio."
"Hm." You let it sit there because you're not one to pry more than that when someone is clearly somewhat unhappy. You'll get it out of Tobio later anyways.
And, cue lightbulb, "You were on the volleyball team together."
A cavalier smile spreads across his face at your question, it's definitely not sweet, teasing, or nice. It seems carefree but the expression in his eyes is almost telling you to back off. However, he still answers, "We were on the same team once, sure."
"Okay."
"Okay?"
"Yeah." You smile with what you hope is the kindness you want to relay and not the awkward uncertainty you're feeling, "Why? Do you have more you want to say?"
He studies you a moment longer before turning away to pick up his menu and study it instead. You still hear his quiet answer, "No."
You look away as well and your eyes fall over Tobio, who's looking back at you. His expressionless gaze doesn't convey much but, for once, even you can't read beneath it, and then the connection's cut when he glances away to the rides in the distance.
Okay.
The lunch goes surprisingly well considering the amount of tension around the table at the start. Mostly between Toru and Tobio, but even Iwaizumi seems more... engaged in the situation. Everyone else continues to get along fairly well and make up for those three, however, and the atmosphere eases out eventually. It probably helps that Tobio is quiet as per usual and Toru is unerringly good at pretending all is well in Oikawa-land.
When everyone heads out for the rest of the rides, you do catch Toru watching you interact with Tobio and Shin but you don't know what's so curious about your relationship with your cousins. What you do think is curious is his interest and attention when you're joking around with Karu or talking to Hiro. See, he doesn't seem to mind if you sit with your cousins, his friends or Hana, but somehow always manages to slip into the seat next to you if it looks like one of Hana's brothers will.
It's so obvious that you can't help but bring it up as you exit the picture booth at one of the rides, "Not that I should have to ask you permission, but are you going to let me sit with Karu or Hiro?"
"Do you want to sit with one of them?"
"Don't answer my question with a question."
"I like having you by my side."
"Still not an answer to my original question."
"Do you not want me next to you?"
"Stop avoiding my question or I'm going to assume you're jealous."
"Sounds like you want me to be jealous."
"I didn't say that."
"You also didn't deny it, Angel."
"Toru." You mean to admonish him for the little games he's playing but when his first name slips out and you see the wide grin start to spread across his face, you have to close your eyes in defeat.
It's with your eyes closed, as you're taking a breath to find your calm, you hear a soft smile in his voice as he calls to you, "Y/n."
And when you open your eyes he's holding up a printed picture from the ride you were just on. You and Toru are sitting next to each other, your hands interlocked between you again and you're trying to hold your hair down with your free hand, while strands still fly everywhere from the wind, to look over at him. Your expressions are caught in that moment, noweternal, as you're laughing at the cute pose he's trying to make for the picture but he's looking back at you and not the camera, with the happiest grin on his face.
"Why this one out of all the others?"
"I've been getting those too, just electronically. I wanted you to have this one."
"It's for me?"
"So you can remember how much I like you by my side."
You can only smile and take the picture from him, responding with a soft, "Thank you."
"Say my name again, Angel."
"Oikawa."
"My first name."
"No."
"Please." He's giving you the cutest puppy eyes, but-
"I said no." And you turn to walk away before he can actually convince you, the smile still stretching your lips as you carefully tuck the picture into the hidden pocket, between your phone and cards to keep it from crumpling as much as possible.
-x-x-x-
Your group and Toru's end up going separate ways after an early dinner, which Miwa and her friend joined you all for. She got along famously with the unexpected additions to the group which you found pretty ironic. So did Toru, you guess, since he made it a point to state his delight at meeting a better Kageyama. No comment, you're biased.
You did have to promise Toru that you'd see him again before you left the park which, oopsie, you guess you never mentioned you'd also booked rooms to stay overnight. Haha. Yeah. You wonder if that means you can message him in the morning?
No, he'd just message you tonight if you don't first. He's already texting every so often and it's just been about fifteen minutes since you both went separate ways. So you end up texting him back to promise you'll see him in an hour or so, after some quality time with your cousins.
Back with the original group consisting of just your family, you all head over to one of the themed lounges to grab desserts and drinks. Tobio, of course, sticks with milk, while Miwa is all about getting her drink on with Sakepolitans - a cosmo made with sake.
Ren manages to convince her to order him an old fashioned or two, stating he's almost legal anyways - you roll your eyes at that - but you and Shin decide to experiment with the house recommendations. He goes with the Uji Matcha Latte while you go your typically coffee route with the café mocha.
An hour flies by fast as you all catch up on your day and make plans for the next but, by the end of it, Miwa is definitely in need of a bed, maybe with a trashcan by the side, and Tobio might actually be asleep on the table.
After telling Shin to stick with you and Tobio, Ren hauls Miwa away to get some sleep, letting you both know he'll be meeting back up with his friends after she's tucked in so to call if any of you need him. He does hesitate briefly, glancing between you and Shin, and you swear he mutters, "Just how much trouble can they get into here?" before shaking his head and leaving.
Hm. You throw a look over to Shin as he shakes Tobio awake and state, "Why don't you get him back to his room while I finish my coffee?"
He eyes you warily, considering your offer, "Right. Like you'll go to your room straight after?"
"What? Don't tell me you're not meeting up with Karu after you drop Tobio to bed."
His mouth opens but literally no words come out. Yeah, that's what you thought.
"What about you? Meeting up with your boyfriend?" Never mind, he found his words. Well, you can too.
"Why do sound like a elementary school kid? Oh right, emotionally you are one."
"I'm telling Ren that you're sneaking out." Rat. He would never, would he?
"You're literally just proving my point. Please, keep going."
"Why are you like this?" Ah, there's the crack. But you need to push a little more.
You lean back with a mocking smile, "Better than you at everything?"
Yup, now he's pouting. "Mean."
"It's genetic. You should know, you are too."
"Wow, I can't believe we're related."
"Me neither. Now, should I let you do your thing and have fun with your friend? Or do we call Ren and both end up stuck in our rooms for the night."
"How do you always...? Never mind." He grimaces in complete defeat, "Fine. Just keep your phone on and answer me right back if I message or call."
He's about to turn away but stops and adds, "And obviously old rules apply. You call immediately if you run into Ren so I can have my story together or make sure I'm back."
"Obviously." You smirk up at him over the mug before taking a sip.
But he didn't even have to say it. Whatever shit the two of you pull on each other, you also have each others backs when it counts. Especially with your older siblings. That was the pact those of you within a one to two year age range made with each other when you were all kids, as if any of you even had to. It's kind of cute you guess, but you'd never say that to any of them or they'd never stop harassing you.
As he heads off, you pull out your phone to message Toru and then decide to drop a picture of your drink on your twitter while you wait for his response. Which is unnecessary because the boy responds almost immediately. What, was he waiting by his phone?

#3: Ah Muzen Cab, God of Bees
Hello again, gods and goddesses!
This time, we focus on a very unusual figure. I'll be(e) honest, I had no idea there was a separate function as the God of Bees, but apparently, several ancient religions do have somebody for that specific task. Plus, there is surprisingly very little information on Ah Muzen Cab, who holds that position in the Maya pantheon, but when you think about it, it actually makes sense: honey was believed to have medicinal properties, it has an almost infinite shelf life, and is used as the main ingredient for mead... no wonder people would think of bees as divine creatures and honey as a sacred food. Sure, why not. Let's see what all the buzz is about!
Next time: When there's no more room in hell...
Now, let's set up some goals for this build. What do we need to make Ah Muzen Cab sting:
Bees: Goes without saying, what's a god without his minions? We gotta get those lil' buzzers somehow;
High Movement Speed: Pretty obvious, you're a bee god, you gotta zoom around;
High Attack Speed: Your sting stings and many stings sting even better. Let's make sure we can get a few extra hits on our turn;
Honey: Bees are cute and their puke is delicious. We have to include it somehow.
When it comes to Ah Muzen Cab's race, there were several options. I could've made him a Simic Hybrid for the nice carapace feature; or maybe a Gith, to reference his mysterious origins; at some point, I believe I even considered a winged Tiefling... but luckily, Wizards of the Coast came to my rescue with their latest Unearthed Arcana 2021: Folk of the Feywild.
Ah Muzen Cab is a Fairy. He's not the largest of gods in SMITE, so making him a size Small shouldn't be an issue. Fairies get a ground speed AND flying speed of 30 feet each, and a +2 and +1 to two stats of your choice; let's go with +2 Wisdom and +1 Dexterity. Instead of humanoid, we're now considered Fey creature type, and we have innate, unlimited flight ability (with hovering). We know Common language and one more of our choice (I suggest Sylvan) and we get the Fairy Magic feature, which gives us two spells from the start: Druidcraft, a cantrip that lets us interact with nature in one way or another (by for example opening flower pods, making them bloom, creating harmless sensory effects, etc.), and Faerie Fire, which marks everything in a 20-foot cube range with a bright aura, essentially preventing invisibility if a creature fails the saving throw (it's normally Dexterity, but we can pick Wisdom here, and so we shall). Another curious ability is Fey Passage, which allows us to squeeze through an opening even 1 inch wide.
For Ah Muzen Cab's background, to reflect his solitude and mystery around his very being, we're gonna pick the Hermit. We get proficiency in Medicine and Religion skills, proficiency in Herbalism Kit and we get to learn one language of our choice. We're now prepared to gather pollen and make our own honey. We also get the Discovery feature, which means we possess a particularly important piece of information. It honestly can be anything, from a crucial part of the campaign's plot to something more personal (for example 1001 recipes involving honey).
ABILITY SCORES
For the quick and nimble Ah Muzen Cab, Dexterity will be our first stat. We will be a caster in some degree, and our casting ability is going to be Wisdom. Follow that up with Constitution, for some Hit Points, then Strength and Charisma, and finally we'll dump Intelligence.
CLASS
We have yet another no-multiclass build. Ah Muzen Cab is going to be(e) nature-themed, quick, and ready to deal a plethora of ranged damage. He's a Ranger (Revised) start-to-finish.
As a Ranger, our Hit Dice is a d10. We start with Hit Points of 10 + our CON modifier, proficiency with light armour, medium armour and shields, as well as simple weapons and martial weapons. For Ah Muzen Cab, I think we should go with studded leather armour and a hand crossbow to mimic his carapace and stinger. We don't get proficiencies with any tools, and our saving throws are Strength and Dexterity. We get to choose three class skills, I'd say Animal Handling, Perception, and Survival fit Ah Muzen Cab's personality best.
---
Level 1: We start this build by choosing our Favoured Enemy. That's right, using the power of fantasy racism we can select a type of creature we are most effective against. We have an option of being the natural enemy of beasts, fey, humanoids, monstrosities, or undead. I'd say to choose either humanoids or fey, but this is to be adjusted to the campaign played. What's important is that we gain +2 damage against the chosen enemy type, we have an advantage on Survival checks related to tracking an enemy of said type, and Intelligence checks to recall any information about that type. We also get another language of our choice.
Another 1st-level feature we get is called Natural Explorer. As a master of the wilderness, we receive various benefits:
We can ignore any difficult terrain;
We have an advantage on initiative rolls;
On our first turn of combat, we have an advantage against enemies that hadn't acted yet.
Additionally, we grant the following benefits if we travel for an hour or more:
Difficult terrain doesn't slow our group's travel;
The group cannot be lost (unless by magic);
Even if we're engaged in some activity while travelling (foraging, tracking, etc.), we cannot be surprised by enemies;
If we're travelling alone, we can move stealthily at a regular pace;
We find twice as much food while foraging;
While tracking creatures, we learn their exact size, numbers, and how long ago they were at our current location.
Level 2: At this level, we get to learn some spells. Although we don't get any cantrips, nor can we cast ritual spells, there are a few tricks that will enhance our build. Wisdom is our spellcasting ability and we begin with two 1st-level spell slots and we learn two 1st-level spells: Alarm lets us put a 20-foot cube under magical surveillance for 8 hours. If any undesignated creature enters the cube, we are notified of the intrusion. We can flavour this spell by creating a small hive with bees buzzing around the perimeter. Hunter's Mark puts a target on one enemy for 1 hour (or until our concentration is broken); until the spell ends, the marked enemy receives extra 1d6 damage and we get an advantage on any Perception or Survival checks we roll in order to find it. If the enemy dies while marked, we can spend a bonus action to mark another creature.
At this level, we also get to pick our Fighting Style and Close Quarters Shooter lets us eliminate the disadvantage while shooting at a target that's within our melee range. We also ignore half-covers and three-quarters covers within 30 feet, and we get +1 to our ranged attack rolls.
Level 3: Our bond with nature deepens at this level. We get the Primeval Awareness feature; we can establish some basic-level communication with a non-hostile beast - we can learn of its emotional state, or if it's under any magical influence. Additionally, we can spend a minute of concentration to detect our Favoured Enemy within 5 miles of our current position.
This is also the level at which we pick our subclass and the Swarmkeeper Conclave finally lets us get our bees!
Our Gathered Swarm is a buzzing bundle of bees, which stays with us until we die. On each of our turns in combat, the Swarm can assist us in various ways. After we successfully hit the enemy:
The enemy receives additional 1d6 piercing damage;
The enemy has to succeed on a Strength saving throw, or be moved by our Swarm up to 15 feet horizontally in any direction;
We can be moved by our Swarm up to 5 feet horizontally in any direction.
We also gain access to Swarmkeeper's Magic feature, which grants us extra spells when reaching specific levels. At the 3rd level, we'd get Faerie Fire but we already know it because of our racial features. So we either forget about it or ask our DM if we could replace it with an extra 1st-level Ranger spell.
We also get another spell: Ensnaring Strike is applied to our ranged attack. On a successful hit, the enemy has to make a Strength saving throw or be restrained up to 1 minute (or until the concentration is broken) by magical thorny vines sprouting from the ground... or perhaps a puddle of extra-sticky honey? While restrained by the spell, suffers 1d6 piercing damage at the beginning of their turn (perhaps some bees hide within the honey and sting them).
Level 4: We get our first Ability Score Improvement! Let's raise our Constitution by 2 points, to get some more Hit Points later on. Survivability is important for the quick and nimble ones.
Level 5: At this level, we get our first subclass upgrade and it's... Extra Attack. We can now attack twice instead of once during a single action. It helps with our target goals, so it's good.
We also gain access to 2nd-level spell slots. Animal Messenger lets you select a critter and charm it to act as your courier for the next 24 hours. You speak a short message (up to 25 words) and describe a target and the creature does its best to deliver your words. I don't need to tell you what kind of creature to use, right?
Your Swarmkeeper's Magic feature also gives you an extra spell: Web fills a 20-foot cube space with sticky webbing. Creatures caught in the web must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be restrained. Once again, we flavour web as honey and we're good to go.
Level 6: Our power of Fantasy Racism grows even stronger with Greater Favoured Enemy. We can pick another type of creatures to gain advantages against. This time, we get to choose from aberrations, celestials, constructs, dragons, elementals, fiends, or giants. We once again learn another language, and our bonus damage against both types of Favoured Enemies changes to a +4. Once again, choose whatever suits the campaign best.
Level 7: Time for another subclass upgrade. Writhing Tide lets our Swarm form a pair of wings around us, giving us flying speed of 10 feet for 1 minute. This ability seems a bit pointless, since we have a much better one from our racial background, so I would consider asking the DM if we can apply this for our party members and give them some slow flight instead.
For this level's spell, I think we should get Healing Spirit - we call upon a nature spirit (gee, I wonder what form it would take) to reside in a 5-foot space. If we or our allies movie into that space, or start our turn there, we get 1d6 points of healing. The spirit can heal only 1 + [our spellcasting modifier] number of times and disappears after the final healing. As a bonus action, we can move the spirit up to 30 feet to a space we can see.
Level 8: Another ASI! Let's put one point in Constitution and one in Wisdom.
At this level we also get Fleet of Foot, which lets us use the Dash action as a bonus action.
Level 9: We get access to 3rd-level spells: Conjure Barrage lets us magically multiply a projectile we shot. Each creature in a 60-foot cone must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d8 points of damage (half on a successful save), the type of which is the same as the projectile used.
We get another spell from our Swarmkeeper's Magic feature: Gaseous Form transforms us or whoever we touch into a cloud of smoke (or perhaps pollen). While in cloud form:
We have flying speed of 10 feet;
We can occupy another creature's space;
We have advantage on non-magical damage;
We have advantage on Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution saving throws;
We can slip through cracks and narrow openings;
If we're stunned or incapacitated mid-air, we don't fall.
While in this form, we cannot speak, use items, attack, or cast spells.
Level 10: At the midway point we get Hide in Plain Sight, which helps us hide so well we reach Drax levels of invisibility
When we choose to Hide, we can decide to not use any movement on our turn. If we do so, any creature that attempts to detect us receives a -10 to their Perception check until the end of our next turn. As long as we do not move, we can use this feature indefinitely.
Level 11: Another subclass feature! The Mighty Swarm feature gives us more bees than before. The damage dealt by our Swarm increases from d6 to d8; if a target fails their saving throw against being moved by our Swarm, they are also knocked prone; when we are moved by our Swarm, we get the benefit of half-cover until the start of our next turn.
We also get another 3rd-level spell: Protection from Energy gives us, or any creature we touch, resistance to one damage type of choice - acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder - for up to 1 hour (or until our concentration is broken).
Level 12: Time for another ASI! Let's raise our Dexterity by two points.
Level 13: We don't get new class features, but we do unlock 4th-level spells; Grasping Vine creates a wiggly plant tendril in a point within 30 feet from you, which can be directed to lash at a target within 30 feet from it. The target has to make a Dexterity saving throw or be pulled 20 feet towards the vine.
We also get another Swarmkeeper spell: Arcane Eye creates an invisible magical beacon that we can use to scout our surroundings for up to 1 hour (or until our concentration is broken). As an action we can move the Eye up to 30 feet without any distance limit; although it cannot enter other planes of existence, or pass through solid barriers, it can enter through an opening even 1 inch wide.
Level 14: We get to put a little extra sneaky to our build with Vanish. This allows us to take the Hide action as a bonus action (which pairs really well with our Hide in Plain Sight).
Level 15: For our final subclass upgrade, we get Swarming Dispersal. When we take damage, we can use a reaction to transform our body into a swarm of bees for the best representation of Naruto's Substitution Jutsu.
We gain resistance to the damage dealt to us and we teleport into an unoccupied space within 30 feet of where we started. We can use this ability the number of times equal to our proficiency bonus and we regain all uses when finishing a long rest.
We get to pick another 4th-level spell: we use Locate Creature to name a creature familiar to us and learn their location as long as they're within 1.000 feet from us. If the creature is moving, we will detect that as long as they don't live that range.
Level 16: We get another ASI! Let's cap our Dexterity with those two extra points.
Level 17: Here we unlock our spellcasting limit - 5th-level spells: Swift Quiver is a bonus action spell that turns our ammo supply into the infinite quiver of Legolas. For 1 minute (or until concentration is broken) on each of our turns, we can take a bonus action to make two additional attacks with ammo from our quiver. Combined with our Extra Attack, this lets us attack one target four times during our turn for 1d6+5 piercing damage.
Level 18: We get a feature called Feral Senses, which helps when fighting invisible enemies; when we attack something we cannot see we no longer get disadvantage on attack rolls. We are also aware of any invisible creatures within 30 feet of us, provided we're not blinded or deafened and the creature isn't using its Hide action.
Level 19: Final ASI of the build. Let's round-up our Wisdom into 18, and with one point to spare we can't do much so allocate it wherever.
We also learn our final spell for the build: Steel Wind Strike lets us do a flourish with our melee weapon, and turn it into an invisible blade of slashiness. Up to five creatures within 30 feet of us have to make a Dexterity saving throw or take 6d10 force damage. Additionally, we can choose to teleport within 5 feet of one of the targets that we hit or miss.
Level 20: For our capstone we get Foe Slayer: once on each of our turns, we can add our Wisdom modifier to the attack roll or the damage roll of an attack we make.
---
Now, let's see what came out from this build for Ah Muzen Cab.
I think we've reached all of our goals. We got our bees, we've got honey-flavour in some abilities, we get extra Movement Speed with Dash as a bonus action... we even get a good Attack Speed with Extra Attack and Swift Quiver.
Our Spell Save DC is 18, AC is 17 if paired with the studded leather armour, and we've on average 164 Hit Points.
Unfortunately, our Intelligence and Charisma scores are pretty low so any checks and saving throws involving those might give us trouble. We are also pretty much range-oriented, with just +1 in Strength.
But that's it! Hopefully you guys enjoyed this ride, and I'll see you for the next one!
Nerdy out!

The Diary of the Older Collegiate (#TheFreshman Series) (3)
Synopsis : Annabelle Green is somewhat in a situation no thirty year woman would want to find herself in : (Un) Happily divorced, childless and with a job worth peanuts and migraine. The downward spiral of her life doesn't seem to end anytime soon until her sister reminds her of her most cherished dream.
College.
part 1 | part 2 | part 3
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MAY 10, 2019
10.30 A.M.
----------------------------------------------------
Who was I kidding? It's Katrina Green we're talking about here. She never forgets.
I wish I could say that the entire college discussion ended in the attic itself, but all my hopes vanished when she dumped an entire stack of college applications right in the middle of the breakfast table.
I folded the morning newspaper and looked at her steadily. "Kat, I thought we were done with this."
"Done? Girl, we are just getting started! "She sat down on one of the chairs, puffing out air from her cheeks. "I did promise that I'd get you into college, right? Luckily, most of the decent ones – "she pointed towards the stack "- have extended the dates to a few days longer. If you hurry, you'll be able to apply to most of them."
"Honey, what is all this?" My mother enters the kitchen, looking confused. "Are you planning some sort of a college reunion?"
"Mom, Anna's decided to join college!"
My eyes grew wide. "What? Kat -!"
Mom was too stunned to speak. There is pin drop silence in the room. Suddenly, her eyes fill with tears. Panic fills my entire being.
"Mom! Mom, this is all just a big –"
"Oh! My darling!" she engulfs me into a tight hug, leaving me breathless. She breaks away with a huge, watery smile on her face. "I'm so proud of you! I've always regretted that you've let go of all you've dreamed of, just for ...that boy."
My parents never really liked Lucas all that much. I've always sensed that they felt obligated to tolerate him, just for me.
"Mom, you do realize that I'm no longer an eighteen year old, right? I'm. Too. Old. For. This."
"Oh, hush." She waved her hand dismissively. "There are plenty of open uni –"
"OPEN UNIVERSITY? NO WAY!" My sister's voice booms from the other end of the table. "You are not going to spend your long treasured college days in some boring, grumpy, soulless dump! I've seen your SAT score – "
"My twelve year old SAT score, you mean." She ignores my jibe.
"- and they were pretty impressive. You can easily get into a good university with the full package- manicured lawns, huge campus, frat houses and so much more. In fact-"she picks up the brochure on the top of the application pile, "I've already selected one for you."
I look at the brochure she picked. Lancaster University.
"Wait, isn't this the one –"
"The only university you applied to, back in the years. " My sister finished the thought.
I blink away the impending tears.
"You got accepted back then, do you know that?" My mom said, looking at the brochure with hope. "By the time the letter came in, you had already moved in with him."
"I-I should've thought better, right? " I whispered, bowing my head down low.
"You still can, Annie," my sister hugged me.
A small ray of hope flickered inside me.
Really, is it possible?
No.
I stomped out all the irrational thoughts from my head. "They'd never accept a 30 year old. I don't see any programs for older students –"
"But they haven't mentioned of any particular age limit either." –I opened my mouth in protest – "Come on now. What's the worst that could happen? You'd get rejected. It's worth a shot."
I looked on from my mom to my sister. Both of them nodded their heads encouragingly.
Suddenly, an idea popped into my head. "I need to talk to Dad first." Dad was a sucker for social reputation and rules, he would never approve of this.
It seems that Kat realized the same thing, for she shook her head and was about to protest. However, Mom beat her to it.
"Yes, of course, you should talk to your father about this."
Kat looked at her, surprised. "Mom, she's thirty! She doesn't need Dad's permission anymore."
"I'm not asking her to get his permission Katrina," my mom asserts firmly. Kat slinks back immediately.
Mom's scary when she's pissed. "I'd just like her to ask her dad how he feels about this. The ultimate decision is, of course, yours." She gives Kat a warning glance.
"Yeah, of course it is," Kat mumbles quietly.
My decision.
All my life, I've always lived to the decisions of others- first my father, then Lucas. But now, finally, I get a decision of my own.
What am I supposed to do about it?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MAY 11, 2019
1.30 A.M.
----------------------------------------------------
The little 'talk' with Dad wasn't that insightful after all. Surprisingly, he thinks the entire college idea is brilliant.
"Dad, don't you think it's a bit...untraditional?"
"It may be untraditional, or in your modern language, 'weird', but not everything in our family is exactly...conventional, now is it?" Dad ruffles his more-salt-than-pepper hair, baby blue eyes twinkling behind his spectacles.
I understood the implication of his words. His older daughter gets knocked up by her longtime boyfriend, and the younger one runs away with a pauper at eighteen and gets divorced twelve years later, childless and penniless.
Doesn't exactly fit the traditional title.
"Yeah, that's true, but- "
"So, I don't see how college is a bad idea. Unless, of course, " he peers at me, "you are not inclined towards the idea. I know how persuasive your sister can be."
"No! I'm not completely against it or anything." I squirm under Dad's steady gaze. "It just feels so...strange considering I'd be more than a decade older than my classmates. I'll be the laughing stock of the batch."
My father sits up straight, glaring at me. "Annabelle Clover Green," – Ugh. Why Clover? - "Are you backing out because of... fear?"
Oh crap. Lieutenant Colonel Green is officially pissed off.
"Dad-"
"I cannot believe this. The daughter of Boston Officer Green, putting off her dream because of a bunch of puny adolescents?"
"Dad-"
"I can tolerate anything in my house, anything but fear!"
"Dad-"
"Even when you gave up everything and went after...that boy, I was never too disappointed in you." He took off his spectacles, "You were clearly taking the wrong decision, yes, but I was happy that you had the guts to risk it all for love."
I opened my mouth. And closed it again.
"Do whatever you want to do, Anna, "he says, "But don't back off it because you're scared of what the others will say."
So, yeah, that's how it ended.
Tomorrow I'll be off to my ex-husband's place to pick up my stuff. My stomach turns just at the thought of facing him again. I hope I'll make through it.
Kat somehow convinced me to take her along too. She swears she won't cause trouble- But I smell disaster already.
Another sleepless night lies ahead. Sigh.

Atlantis Days AU/Ghidorah Pulls An Anakin AU
Is it even considered an AU?
Anyway, I watched some GMK clips and two Wikizilla videos on GMK Mothra, Ghidorah and Baragon then I thought, "Hey, they should do these 'KG as the good guy scenarios' more often." which then turned into "What if Ghidorah was a good guy (read: morally ambiguous but not evil) back in the day but pulled an Anakin Skywalker?"
Then these designs happened:
Some notes on this AU(?) Warning: canon divergence probably
- Everyone is younger here. Like I guess college age by Titan standards?? If we're talking who's the eldest and who's the youngest, well, Eldest is tied between the Ghidorah Triplets and Mothra but no one knows how old Ghidorah is (they're still considered young by their planet's standards, though) and Mothra and Rodan take turns being the youngest, mostly thanks to Mothra dying and coming back.
- Dagon is the Alpha of this time period and Gojira is his heir. They are not related but they do have a familial mentor-student relationship. Dagon /probably/ would've adopted Goji had he lived longer
- Mothra is sorta Dagon's daughter?? They're close friends and he plays parent whenever Mothra is reborn as a larva. Okay, maybe she /is/ his daughter.
- Rodan is Dagon's foster son, taking him in after his entire flock got slaughtered by something. Rodan's parents also took in Dagon's son (yep, Dagon is the biological father of BabyG) since I sorta headcanon that Alphas trust someone to be the surrogate/foster parent of their young and well, Rodan's parents were kinda suited for the job since they're loyal to Dagon, are great fighters and no one is dumb enough to invade a nest situated in a volcano. As thanks for their service and also out of pity, he took in Rodan (Did I explain that well??) Btw, the egg doesn't hatch until the Beginnings of the Mass Hibernation. Also, Rodan and Dagon have a good father-son relationship, even if Rodan sometimes likes to annoy Dagon.
- The Ghidorah Triplets are an anomaly, having fallen from the sky but, thanks to a really rough landing which resulted to bad head injuries, they have no memory of their life prior to their fall. They were initially taken in by Leviathan before being dumped on Orochi when they were a little older. Years later, Orochi then sent them to go train under Dagon and maybe figure out who they were. P.S. They eventually fo find out about their past. . . Their not so good and fun past. . . Which resulted in them going back to their conquering ways
- The six of them were actually close friends back in the day
•Gojira and the Triplets had a friendly rivalry going on, especially in terms of combat. However, the Ghidorahs are also pretty jealous on Goji being Dagon's heir but they don't know why (when they remember their past, they find out why)
• Goji and Rodan see each other as brothers but they also like messing with each other. Goji is usually the one that bails Rodan out and makes sure he doesnt get into too much trouble or even hurt while Rodan cheers Goji up and is usually there to back him up. They also have a habit of throwing tiny pebbles at each other.
• Mothra is everyone's mom friend but she surprisingly Moms the Ghidorahs the most, mostly because of their mysterious origins and their own individual flaws that will warrant them an asskicking (Ichi being an arrogant douche, Ni being irritable and quick-tempered but then again, he doesnt mind fighting everyone and San being too curious and not too bright). Ichi usually gets annoyed, Ni is indifferent at first but does get annoyed too while San doesn't mind. They secretly appreciate it, though
• Mothra still Moms Goji 'Too Tired for your BS but I will still kick your ass' and Rodan 'Will start a fist fight for kicks'. However, at least Goji helps her out by acting as Tired Dad friend though, Rodan does help. . . By fighting people. Also, to be fair, Goji ends up fighting people too but only if someone insults his friends, especially Mothra.
• Rodan and the Triplets are disaster friends who get into trouble a lot, usually them getting into brawls with others or with each other (to be fair, it's all in good fun in the latter case). Though, when they're not causing trouble, they're probably chilling at a temple or a tavern. Rodan has a different dynamic with each triplet but he's still close with all three of them.
- If Rodan or Dagon is busy, everyone takes turns watching over the Egg. Mothra is the most trusted for obvious reasons.
- Yes, Goji and Mosu have a crush on each other but are lowkey trying to egg the other into asking the other out. And no, neither of them have cracked yet. Yes, Rodan and Ghidorah have a crush on each other but they're hella confused. On Rodan's side, it's "Do I have a crush on one of them or all three of them??" While on the triplets' side, it's "WTF is this feeling???"
Design Notes:
- I headcanon Atlantis as a Melting Pot aka a lot of cultures and races integrate here and have a huge influence on the place hence the outfit influences. Also, you can totally see the D&D influences in some of the outfits.
- Mothra's outfit is based on one of the Shobijin's outfits, just a bit more suited for flying and being in a kingdom in the middle of the sea. I tried to make it as extra as possible, I swear. Surprisingly, the fluff coat doesnt get in the way of her wings
- Am I the only one who actually likes the idea of Rodan having feathers? Idk, it sounds cool. He doesn't have feathers when he's fighting, though. Also, thanks to his tail and the fact that his wing membrane is also connected to the said tail, Rodan wears low rise bottoms. Also also, he wears shorts under his kilt.
- Goji tends to prefer simpler clothes since he doesn't want any fancy stuff getting in the way of him swimming or mediating but he doesn't mind wearing fancy clothes, though. Yes, he also likes wearing his hakama like that. Mothra can be caught staring at it
- The Triplets were originally supposed to be dressed in Celtic Clothing before I decided for celtic-inspired fantasy clothes instead. It's just emphasize on how out of place they are on Earth. Also, their styles have some differences because people got fed up with trying to guess which brother is which. However, they were matching armor when training/fighting. San arguabling dresses more simpler, especially when he's out hunting. Wouldn't want to ruin your fancy clothes when out hunting.
- Their heights are as follows: Mothra is 5'5, Rodan is 6'0, Godzilla is 7'3 and Ghidorah is 7'5. Yes, the boys hit their heads on doorways, especially Ghids.
Will edit this if I change my mind or have more ideas. Also, feel free to ask me questions about this AU
Edit: Wording and spelling Errors
#godzilla#mothra#King Ghidorah#Rodan#this is what happens when I'm bored. dumb and trying to use what little free time I have#'San dresses simpler' I say as I draw San in fancy clothes#Rodan and Mothra are my favorites#also I love how I make Ni look like an Axe Murderer lol#Proud on how I did with Goji and Ichi too#especially Ichi's wings#also is Ghidorah planning on murdering the cameraman? Maybe#Also Mothra is looking at the camera I swear#Also I definitely encourage the Darth Vader Ghidorah jokes#Atlantis Days AU

The Labyrinth- 11:20 am
Clive approached the massive structure first, stopping in front of the open gates.
"It.. Looks like the entrance to a maze," Cyrus said.
"A Labyrinth, such as in legend," Trecero croaked out. His voice was hoarce, and obviously weak, but he'd come back around enough and was wide awake.
"Legend?" Cyrus questioned quickly, "Like... Old Greek myth, legend?"
"Er.. What's Greek? I only know an old story I heard once, from my buddy Trust. His story was about a legendary Labyrinth located in the center of what he called 'The Underground'. Some dungeon stuff that I never ended up doing. It was legendary, apparently. Trust never found it," Trecero explained.
"Ah, that makes... Some sense. Dungeon stuff, though? Like.. Is that a norm?"
"Yeah, actually. Dungeons and adventures and missions and stuff like that. Our worlds pretty wild compared to yours, huh?" Farrow chimed in.
"Well, it sounds like you're just living in the world of Dungeons and Dragons. See I've got explosions, and mafias, and poison gas explosions, more explosions, guns, zip lining, life threatening situations all the time, living the life in my world. I have a corvette!" Cyrus seemed to take pride in everything he said, which surprised Rascal a bit.
"Cy, you talk of that really lightly,, you were in therapy for months after the poison gas incident, and the mafias-? Don't you remember what they did to y-" Cyrus quickly cut him off with a nervous laugh.
"Nah nah, it's all over now, I'm fine! That's just our world, you know?"
Rascal instantly caught the distraught tone in Cyrus's voice, but didn't say anything further.
"... You have a corvette?! And you know about DnD too!? The hell? A nerd secret agent? Awesome!" Alex was obviously stoked over the whole situation, and Rascal was left in awe that the corvette was what he got excited about.
"What's... DnD?" Farrow dipped an ear in confusion, and Trecero just shrugged and gave him a 'don't even bother to ask' look.
Clive approached the entrance to the Labyrinth, peering inside.
"Guys, let's focus on the maze thing. This feels important," he said, catching everyone's attention.
"Look at the top of the walls.. They are covered in spikes," Marque pointed out.
"And barbed wire, it looks like. Damn, this things high security.. They really don't want anyone cheating, huh?" Albi added.
"Guess not... Do you think it's that important, or is it a game?" Molly asked, "Like, it might just be a dungeon challenge or whatever Trecero said. Not worth our time."
Clive took a step back, considering the possibility.
"Well... Does it look like there's a way around?" he asked to Molly, who turned to look down and check.
"... There might be. I think I see a light curve at the end there. I can go check if-"
Cutting Molly off, Clive suddenly let out a yell and tried to jump back. His foot was caught, almost glued to the ground as a black form grew up his leg.
"That's an issue!" Alex yelped as both he and Albi leapt at the same time to assist him. Though, their combined efforts, along with Cyrus, Rascal, and Marque, did nothing but nearly break Clive's leg. The substance just grew more, until it had covered him up to the chest.
"Fuck! Get me out of here!" Clive wheezed lightly while still gripping onto Albi. His voice switched to an almost squeaky, audibly frightened tone as the black reached his neck.
"It's crushing me-"
Albi kicked at the source of the black, and drew back his foot in pain. Nothing he was trying was working, and soon before him, Clive was entirely covered, and suddenly the black dropped in a puddle back onto the ground, seeping into the concrete before disappearing.
"Clive!" Albi yelled as he dropped onto the ground, still smacking at the ground.
"What the fuck-? What- happened-?" Cyrus took a step back, now in fear for his own life. He tightened his grip on Rascal's hand, and Rascal didn't bother correcting his language this time.
"Albi. Look- there- in the Labyrinth. It appears similar to that of the portals the crystals create- come on, let us hurry!" Marque tugged Albi to his feet and they both took off towards the shadowy opened portal. There was a man waiting at the entrance, and as Albi tried to run right through the portal, he was met by a clear wall, stopping him cold.
He looked into the eyes of yet another familiar man.
"Oh, Albert, dear old friend. Yet from another world, I can easily tell," the man gave Albi a sinister yet surprisingly polite grin. He was dressed in a pinstripe suit and fedora, with a golden tie tucked neatly into his jacket.
"Jacque. From another world? I remember you from mine.. You lived in my world. Where is Clive?" Albi almost snarled back at the man.
"Oh not to worry, he's just fine. He's spending some time with me," the man, "Jacque", moved aside to show Clive, who'd already been strapped down in a steel chair in the center of the room.
"Clive! Clive can you hear me?!" Albi pounded on the invisible wall stopping him from strangling Jacque instantly, and Clive looked up.
"Albi-?" Clive squeaked out. Clive wasn't normally afraid, but seeing Jacque again, the one man that had bested him in the past, gave him a new sense of fear he'd never felt before.
"We're going to play a game! If you know me in your world, you know how this works already. Me and my games..." Jacque chuckled to himself.
"What game?" Marque growled, as the rest of the team was joining behind the two.
"You're going to solve my Labyrinth. Isn't that going to be fun? Clive here is located in the center. As is the core crystal you're searching for," Jacque held up a fire shaped crystal that looked like a dark smokey quartz, "The Faded Flame."
Albi blinked in surprise and moved his hands away from the portal.
"If you make it to the center of the maze, Clive goes free, you get the Faded Flame, and you can go on your way," Jacque said, and for a minute, the offer sounded good.
"However," his sudden drop in tone gave everyone an awful feeling, "Until you reach the center, I am allowed to do whatever I please to Clive. He belongs to the Torturkammer, until you reclaim him."
Albi's expression dropped upon hearing his words, and without hesitation he cried up.
"What did your world Clive do to you that would make you go after an entirely different one!?"
Jacque simply grinned, setting the Faded Flame lightly on a nearby table, that was covered as well in shining blades and tools laid out in a neat line.
"Oh, I have nothing against you, however, Clive, in my world, had a friend... He beheaded me. Cut my head clean off with a bloody butcher's knife. The sorry excuse of a man murdered me in my sleep in cold blood, but even the dead don't forget. Of course, when Neptune appeared, it was my chance at salvation. I am alive again. But seeing that someone is tampering with that, especially him-" Jacque gestured to Clive, "Sends a rage through me like nothing ever did before."
"I know you," Cyrus spoke up quietly, stepping forward, "From my world."
"Ah! I didn't see you there, Cyrus old boy. Long time no see, how are your lashes doing, may I ask?" Jacque grew a new snarkiness in his tone, and Cyrus recoiled lightly.
"Healed. You're lucky you're protected by this damn portal, or you'd be dead!" even Cyrus was displaying a new anger, which surprised Rascal, and admittedly scared him a bit.
"Oh no, dear... But we don't have much time to talk. I'll see you at the center," Jacque smirked and tipped his fedora, "Good luck surviving. But don't worry! I'll give hints on how to get to the center. All you'll need to do is follow this sound!"
Jacque pulled a small remote from his suit pocket and pressed a button, and a sharp electrical sizzling and a blood curdling scream came from behind him.
"No- Clive!! Jacque, don't hurt him!!" Albi cried, once again trying to get through the barrier, "Clive hang on, we're gonna get there!! I promise!!"
"I'll keep him alive for you, but the condition you find him in depends on how quickly you manage to get here, and only if you survive."
And with that, the portal closed, and the team was left in the darkness, facing the Labyrinth.
