#sure they're all trapped on an island and more areas open up as ppl die BUT

I've never thought about the game unlocking more areas after someone dies in that way but honestly that makes me really sad
Ikr? It feels so much more cruel and isolating that the characters get more space to live the more they kill each other off.
When they first get there, they all spend time on the first floor, it's easier to find them and interact with them. But as the floors open up, everyone disperses, and you have to actively hunt for characters you want to talk to. [Or just open the menu and just fast-travel nearby, but that's not the same as aimlessly wandering the halls hoping to see them pop up]
It probably doesn't help that the hallways all look like this
Which makes it very easy to get lost and turned around if you don't know where you're going
#im not sure who i saw bring up that point first#it might've been game grumps? but I'm sure other ppl have said stuff like it b4#but its so crazy to me that not just the characters are thought out. but the entire environment too#bc like- the 2nd game isnt like this at all#sure they're all trapped on an island and more areas open up as ppl die BUT#they still get sunlight and water and fun activities to do#meanwhile in dr1 all the windows and doors are bolted over with thick metal plates to not allow sunlight in#and theyre all still technically trapped in a building the whole time as compared to an island in dr2 even if its not real#idk abt v3 yet i havent watched anything about it until i finish playing dr1 and watching gg play dr2 but yeah#i think dr1 really does a good job of making players feel paranoid and isolated#danganronpa#anon asks#thank you for the ask#elliot rambles
