Supported Independent Living Providers
If you’re an NDIS participant with high support needs, supported independent living providers (SIL) may be the perfect option for you. It offers a combination of NDIS funding and support workers who can help you with daily tasks like cooking, bathing and dressing.
You’ll be able to choose between shared living arrangements and accommodation, and your support worker will provide you with a roster of care, or RoC, so they can work out exactly how much funding you need and what kind of help is needed. Once you have the RoC, you can tell the NDIA about your plan change and get the SIL funding that will let you live in your chosen accommodation.
SIL is usually provided to participants with medium to very high support needs who have a disability that prevents them from living independently in their own home. It helps them to build the skills they need to be more independent, but it’s not always a suitable solution for everyone.
It can be tricky to navigate the world of SIL, especially if you’ve never lived in supported housing before. It can be confusing to know who you should ask, and what type of support will suit you best. Luckily, the NDIS makes it simple to understand what SIL is and how it can help you.
Centers for Independent Living
CILs are community-based organizations that offer services, advocacy and education to people with disabilities and their families. They also help people with disabilities get access to community resources and services that they need, such as housing, health care, employment, transportation and social and recreational facilities.
They also connect you to NDIS accredited supports and carers, and can be a valuable resource for you when it comes to applying for SIL.
You can choose to live in a SIL community, or you can live in your own home with a SIL support worker. It’s important to remember that SIL does not cover things like rent, food or utilities, so it’s important to budget for those.
Assisted Living Communities
Assisted living facilities aim to make life easier for their residents, reducing their day-to-day responsibilities and offering amenities such as laundry and housekeeping services, on-site dining options, and security surveillance. They typically don’t offer medical or custodial care, but they do encourage family involvement and are a great place for seniors to spend their twilight years.
In addition to assisted living, you can also find independent living communities, which are more geared towards aging adults with moderate to severe disabilities. These communities often offer recreational centers or clubhouses, activities and classes, and on-site dining options.
Both communities encourage family involvement, and many have special programs for residents with dementia. These programs can help keep seniors active and engaged while reducing caregiver burnout and depression.
Specialist Disability Accommodation
SDA is a housing program funded through the NDIS that offers a range of disability accommodation options to participants with extreme functional impairment. These homes are designed to meet specific needs, and they can be located in a variety of locations around the country.
Premium Disability Support Services is an NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Service Provider based in Melbourne. We provide disability support services all across Melbourne. We support all individuals with disabilities to develop the skills and capabilities that they require to achieve independence and participate in society.

Outrage as South Korean Job Seekers Lose Access to Google's Search Experience
The internet has revolutionized the way we live and work, making access to information easier and more efficient than ever before. However, for job seekers in South Korea, the search for employment has become more difficult in recent weeks following the abrupt suspension of Google's job search service. This decision has triggered outrage among job seekers, who rely heavily on the platform to find employment opportunities in a highly competitive job market. In this blog post, we'll explore the reasons behind Google's suspension of its job search service in South Korea, its impact on job seekers, and the implications for the country's economy. Google Search Experience The Google Search Experience is something that most people take for granted. It's become second nature to us to quickly type in our search queries and get tailored results based on our browsing history and location. However, this isn't the case for job seekers in South Korea. Recently, the South Korean government has prohibited Google's search engine from offering personalized results to its users. This decision has had a significant impact on job seekers who have now lost access to Google's search experience. For job seekers, Google's personalized search experience was a precious tool that allowed them to find relevant job postings quickly. They could also find information on companies and their recruitment processes as well as find other job-related content. Losing access to this tool has scared many job seekers, making it difficult for them to find accurate and up-to-date information regarding available job offerings. The South Korean government's decision to prohibit the use of personalized search results was taken to protect user privacy. Currently, Google collects users' personal data to offer more personalized search results. The government believes that this is a breach of user privacy and has issued a fine of $177,00 to Google for violating these regulations. While job seekers may feel that there's no alternative to Google's personalized search experience, there are search engines available that they can use. However, these search engines are not as popular as Google, and users may need to take some time to learn how to use them efficiently. This issue has implications on the larger relationship between South Korea and U.S. technology companies. While the decision was taken to protect user privacy, it may also be interpreted as an attempt to support local technology companies. This is becoming increasingly important because South Korea aims to create a technology ecosystem that is independent of U.S. companies. In conclusion, the decision to prohibit Google's personalized search experience in South Korea is not only inconvenient for job seekers, but it also has broader implications for the country's relationship with U.S. technology companies. It remains to be seen whether this decision will be reversed or if job seekers will have to adapt to alternative search engines in the future. Hopefully, a solution can be found that satisfies all parties involved, ensuring the efficient and effective transition for job seekers. Job Posting Search Experience The world was shocked when news spread that job seekers in South Korea had suddenly lost access to Google's search experience. Many were outraged and expressed their concerns about how this sudden change would affect employment opportunities in the country. One major impact this will have is on job seekers, who will now find it challenging to search and apply for job vacancies posted online. Google's capacity as a search engine provides users with user-friendly results that are sorted by relevance and location of the search. This makes it easier for potential employees to find their preferred job vacancies and employers that are located close to them, making it easy to follow up. But now, candidates may have to contend with alternative means, which might be time-consuming and confuse them. This situation could cause many to become discouraged, give up their search, and ultimately prolong their unemployment. The decision to end the provision of Google's job search experience was undoubtedly made for several reasons. These reasons may include technical reasons, like difficulties in updating the provision of Google's search engines to the country's regulatory requirement. The change could also have broader economic and social implications, including debates around monopolies and the power of big tech companies. Many argue that these companies wield too much power and influence to dictate users' online experiences. Despite the challenges posed by this change, there are possible solutions for job-seekers. One option is to turn to alternative websites and platforms that continue to provide job placement services. Another alternative could be to make use of available recruitment or human resources agencies to search and make job listings available to job-seekers. In conclusion, while the loss of Google's search experience may be a significant blow to job seekers in South Korea, there are still several alternatives to explore. The experience, however, highlights the need for a robust online job search system that would protect users' interests, offer relevant results, and help individuals find employment opportunities conveniently. Regional Availability of Job Search Experience Job seekers in South Korea are outraged as Google's search experience is no longer available to them, creating a hurdle in their job search process. It is essential to acknowledge the impact of limited access on local job seekers to understand the magnitude of the issue. Access to Google's search experience meant that job seekers could access job listings, research companies, and find relevant information for their job search. With its absence, local job seekers are now left with limited options, making it challenging to acquire jobs that match their skillset and qualifications. The Role of Local Job Search Platforms Fortunately, alternative job search platforms are available in South Korea. However, the question that arises is, do they offer similar features to Google's search experience, and how effective and usable are they? Comparing these platforms' pros and cons can help local job seekers make better-informed decisions in their job search process. The Significance of Google's Search Dominance Google's dominance in the search market plays a key role in the job search experience. However, it creates barriers to entry for other companies, leading to the risk of a monopoly. If a single company dominates the job search market, other companies do not stand a chance of competing, limiting job seekers' options to a single platform. Therefore, it is imperative to create balance and healthy competition in the job search industry to lessen the impact of a monopoly on job seekers. The Importance of Accessible Technology The situation in South Korea highlights the importance of information accessibility and technology for job seekers. It raises the question of creating greater accessibility in other countries globally. Technology should be accessible to all since it plays a critical role in the job search process. Conclusion The unavailability of Google's search experience in South Korea poses a significant challenge for job seekers. While other alternatives exist, we need to ensure that job seekers have access to technology and information to provide them with all possible opportunities to find their dream jobs. The job search industry should be a level playing field, creating healthy competition while leveling the advantage enjoyed by established platforms. How are South Korean job seekers coping without Google For job seekers in South Korea, Google has been a crucial tool in their job search. With its advanced search filters and user-friendly interface, Google provided access to a multitude of job listings from multiple sources all in one place. So, when Google suddenly announced its decision to withdraw its search services in the country, it sparked outrage among South Korean job seekers. The impact of Google's exit on South Korean job seekers’ career prospects cannot be overstated. Many were left scrambling to find alternative search engines that could offer a similar level of convenience and efficiency. Unfortunately, these alternatives have often proved insufficient and have resulted in job seekers missing out on opportunities or having to settle for less-desirable positions. One alternative job search engine that has gained significant popularity in South Korea is Naver. However, the website's interface, which is primarily designed for Korean speakers, can be challenging for non-native speakers to navigate. Other job search engines like Incruit and JobKorea are also available; however, these platforms have limitations in terms of the types of job postings available and the scope of their search results. Public officials and citizens alike have criticized Google's decision to withdraw its services from South Korea. They argue that Google is a market leader in search engines and a valuable resource for job seekers in the country. Many view Google's decision as having a detrimental impact on the Korean economy by limiting job seekers' opportunities and hampering business growth. Despite the negative backlash, Google has not given any indication that it plans to return to South Korea anytime soon. However, there is still hope that a resolution can be reached between South Korea regulators and Google, potentially leading to a renewed partnership between the tech giant and the job-seeking population of South Korea. In conclusion, the absence of Google in South Korea has had a profound impact on job seekers in the country. Though alternative search engines exist, none have been able to replace Google's functionality and convenience. Hopefully, a new resolution can be reached to benefit both job seekers and the economy as a whole. Possible solutions to the issue of Google inaccessibility in South Korea. Possible solutions to the issue of Google inaccessibility in South Korea The recent news of Google's inaccessibility in South Korea has sparked outrage, particularly among job seekers who rely heavily on the search engine to find employment opportunities. While the issue is complex and multi-faceted, there are potential solutions that can mitigate the impact of Google's inaccessibility. Impact of Google's inaccessibility on job seekers in South Korea Job seekers in South Korea are facing a significant setback as they are unable to access Google search. With the majority of job listings and recruitment processes being conducted online, the inability to access Google search can severely hinder job seekers in South Korea from finding opportunities and applying for positions. Reasons behind Google's inaccessibility in South Korea The South Korean government has banned Google from collecting resident ID numbers for over a decade, citing data privacy concerns. This has led to conflicts and negotiations between Google and the government. While there have been efforts to find a resolution, the issue remains unresolved, and job seekers are bearing the brunt of the situation. Alternatives to Google search for job seekers in South Korea While Google may be the most popular search engine, there are other options available for job seekers in South Korea. Naver and Daum are two Korean search engines that have been modified to cater to the unique needs of South Korean users. By using these search engines, job seekers can still access job listings and recruitment processes. Collaborative efforts to resolve the Google inaccessibility issue The South Korean government and Google have been engaged in negotiations to address the inaccessibility issue. Other stakeholders, such as job search platforms and IT professionals, can play a role in this process by sharing their insights and expertise. It is imperative to adopt a collaborative approach to create a more sustainable and effective solution. Conclusion The issue of Google's inaccessibility in South Korea is a complex one, but there are potential solutions that can mitigate the impact on job seekers. By exploring alternative search engines and engaging in collaborative efforts to find a resolution, we can ensure that job seekers in South Korea can access the opportunities they need to thrive. In conclusion, the sudden loss of Google Search Experience for South Korean job seekers has sparked outrage and frustration amongst the community. The move by Google to remove this feature in adherence to new privacy laws in the country has left many feeling disconnected and isolated in their job search efforts. While the government works to strike a balance between privacy and user convenience, it's crucial for companies like Google to continue to seek innovative solutions that cater to its users' needs. This serves as a stark reminder of the impact that government policies and regulations can have on technology services. We can only hope that a solution will be reached soon, and in the meantime, job seekers in South Korea will have to explore other avenues to secure job opportunities. Read the full article

NDIS Housing Support: Tailored Accommodation Options for Independence
If you have an NDIS plan, you may be eligible for housing support. This includes home modifications and short and medium-term accommodation.
These NDIS Accommodation Assistance options are tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual participant. Whether it’s a Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), or a Short or Medium-Term Accommodation, they can be the perfect fit.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA)
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is the 'bricks and mortar' capital component of disability accommodation supports funded by the NDIS. This type of housing is specialised and designed for participants with extreme functional impairment or high support needs. It can be built from scratch or modified to existing residential properties.
The NDIA considers a number of criteria when assessing eligibility for SDA. These include your level of function, your support needs, and if you are receiving other disability services. It also takes into account the type of accommodation you are currently living in.
If you're eligible for SDA, your NDIS planner will help you through the process. This includes preparing your documentation, finding SDA providers and submitting applications to them. Depending on your plan, you may be able to use your SDA funds towards rent for a long-term property. This can be done through a SDA provider or through the NDIS MTA program. You can find SDA vacancies using the online SDA Finder.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Short-Term Accommodation, also known as respite care, provides a temporary break for participants and their primary carers from daily life and allows them to enjoy new experiences or holidays. It can also help with preparing for independent living or transitioning between residences.
STA includes personal care, accommodation and meals, and activities that you and your provider agree upon. It can be used flexibly, such as one weekend a month or in blocks up to 14 days.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) funds STA at standard rates, which are listed in the NDIS Price Guide. STA providers range from small homes to larger, hotel-style facilities and 'day-centre' settings. You should take the time to research which STA options meet your individual needs and requirements. Some STA providers bundle food, accommodation and all relevant supports into a single package price, while others offer these services separately. AEON Disability Services can assist you with understanding the differences between STA providers and finding a solution that meets your specific needs.
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
SIL is an accommodation support that helps people with disability live independently. The goal is to enable participants to achieve their goals and aspirations, participate in the community, and enjoy life. Unlike SDA and specialised housing solutions, SIL doesn’t necessarily require 24-hour assistance.
Depending on your needs, you can receive this support at home, in a community setting or at an SIL provider’s house. During your planning conversation, you will discuss what kind of assistance you need to help you with your daily living tasks.
Your planner will also consider your age (SIL is only available to people over 18), your individual goals, and whether you need person-to-person support as well. They will then make a decision on the amount of SIL you can access and how it fits into your overall plan. They’ll also take into account any existing capacity-building supports and core support services. This way, you get the right balance of accommodation and support to suit your lifestyle and goals.
Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
The primary difference between STA and MTA is the length of stay. MTA provides a temporary housing solution for up to three months (precisely 90 days). It may be shared accommodation in a house or duplex style home with high support and access to community activities.
MTA is also the ideal support for participants who need to move out of their own homes during accessibility renovations. As an integral part of the NDIS core budget, MTA is a bridge between short and long-term arrangements while empowering participants with a supportive environment that encourages social activity, development, and essential life skills.
While MTA doesn’t offer as many services as SDA or SIL, it is an excellent choice for those who have very high support needs but are still independent enough to live alone. Find out if your NDIS plan includes MTA in the core budget by getting in touch with us. We’ll happily provide more information.

31 Birthday Wishes
As I prepare to embark upon my 31st birthday I wanted to take the time to be especially intimate with myself. I am so proud of how far I am come and I look forward to all the places I still have yet to go. This is the last moments of my 30th years of life and I can say I truly spent my 30th year being selfish in the way that I have always deserved. I plan to keep this up. As I enter 31 I look forward to my future as a single woman. Alone if you will. There was a time when the word “alone” was hurtful to me because I once believed that my solitude was a direct reflection of myself. I could have never been more wrong. Solitude is a beauteous thing that is vital to a happy and successful life. I am alone but I am not lonely in the slightest. After everything that happened once I began to speak as an adult and put childish things away I was unsure how to navigate life as an adult. I didn’t know what life would or could look like for me specifically. And by the grace of God I have found My Way. I trust in my ability to be a lone individual who is capable of getting things done all by myself for myself. It’s a refreshingly intoxicating feeling to know that you hold the power to see your dreams come true in real time. God has wiled it so. My journey has taught me that I can and should rely on myself because with God I can do all things through the strength that he gives me. It is my testimony that I have made it out and I am at peace with everything. My heart and mind are clear and I hold no ill will towards anyone. I look forward to 31 with love, happiness, faith and joy for all to come. I Thank the Lord for allowing me to see another day where there is another opportunity for me to grow into the best version of myself. I aspire to continue on this journey of truly loving myself so that I may be a better lover to myself as well as others. I pray that the Lord allows me to continue to navigate my life with him at the head and peace in my heart. I look forward to all the new relationships and friendship that are to come. I pray for all I used to know and all I still do know and pray that you have mercy on our souls and keep us safe if your arms Lord God. Thank you for allowing me to experience this beautiful moment as I type these words to myself now. I remember there was a time when all I wanted was to change be different and feel different. I love myself just as I am, past and present. I release myself from people, places, spaces, mindset, behaviors etc. that no longer serve me and I welcome all the new and wonderful possibilities that are to come. This year is even more personal for me and I am so excited to be able to celebrate myself and relax. I will be spending my 31st birthday out of the country by myself and I look forward to this trip. It’s a small step into the direction of independent that I look forward to. I do still desire to experience healthy romantic love and make new friends and I trust that God will continue to supply all my needs, wants and every desire. “Maybe right now, your journey isn’t about love. Maybe right now, your journey is about being alone. Maybe this is the season you are being challenged- to learn how to wake up in the middle of the bed to finally find hope in the vacancy, to finally find hope in the quiet, hope in the way you stretch into your life and give yourself permission to take up space within it. Maybe right now, you are being shown- that you can take care of yourself, that you can depend on the person you have become, that you can be your own home no matter what comes your way. I write this letter to you merely days before your birthday to let you know that I am always with you Ebony. I am your home and you are mine. I stand with you and support you. I love you with all my heart and will do right by you at every step for as long as I shall live. Happy Birthday my dear sweet Ebony. It is with love, admiration and grace that I wish you all the best and more. I will love you until forever ends, until then, later baby.

Support For Independent Living and Retirement Communities
If you're planning to move to an independent living or retirement community, it is important to find a location that supports your independence and health. There are many resources to help you navigate the process of moving into a new home.
The first step is to take stock of your current situation. Consider how well you can manage activities of daily living, such as cooking and cleaning. You also need to evaluate whether you have a physical condition that could make it difficult for you to remain independent.
Assisted living communities often offer a more carefree lifestyle, but they can cost more than support for independent living. They may be a good option for those who have no medical needs and who want to live in a safe, supportive environment.
In addition to providing a safe place to live, many independent living facilities and retirement homes also provide amenities and services to their residents. These might include a fitness center, swimming pool or other recreational facilities. They also often have on-site cafes and other social gathering places, such as movie nights or art classes.
You will also likely need to rely on transportation to get around the community. Depending on where you live, this may mean taking public transportation or driving to family or friends' houses. Having an accessible means of transportation is essential for maintaining health and safety, so it is vital to choose a community that offers easy access to the transportation you need.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution to a housing change, so it is crucial to talk about your goals and expectations. It is also helpful to have a support system of family and friends to help you through this process.
If you are moving from a nursing home or assisted living facility into an independent living or retirement community, it is normal to feel some loss and uncertainty about your new home. This is especially true if you have lived in your old home for many years and it is full of memories.
It's also normal to miss the comforts of your old home or neighborhood. The loss of these things can be a painful and stressful experience. It's important to acknowledge these feelings, and seek counseling if necessary.
The best way to deal with these feelings is to talk about them openly and respectfully. This can be a tough conversation to have, but it's vital to get the information you need to make the best decision for you.
Another option is to hire a personal attendant, such as a home health aide or a caregiver, to assist you with the activities of daily living. Choosing a person with experience who can work directly with you is an excellent choice because they can be trained to adapt their tasks and procedures as your condition changes.
Finally, if you need assistance with personal finances or medication management, you may wish to consult an agency that specializes in these areas. These agencies can also connect you with other resources and organizations that can assist you.
Premium Disability Support Services is an NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Service Provider based in Melbourne. We provide disability support services all across Melbourne. We support all individuals with disabilities to develop the skills and capabilities that they require to achieve independence and participate in society.

Jojos Party Rentals
Dinuba is located in Tulare County, California, United States. According to the 2020 census, the city's population rose to 24,563 from 21,453 in the 2010 census. It falls under the Visalia-Porterville metropolitan statistical area. Notably, the Alta District Museum in Dinuba, housed in a renovated train station, displays a range of exhibits depicting the region's history.
The origins of Dinuba's name still need to be clarified, and despite several existing speculations, there are no confirmed theories. It is thought that railroad engineers whimsically chose the name when they constructed a branch line in the region. Initially, the city was named Sibleyville after James Sibley, who granted 240 acres to the Pacific Improvement Company.
During the early decades of the 20th century, Dinuba hosted a notable Korean-American population, which organized a parade to support Korean independence from Japan on the second anniversary of the March 1st Movement in 1920.
The total land area of Dinuba, as reported by the United States Census Bureau, is 6.5 square miles. The terrain is primarily flat, about 345 feet above sea level, with a slight gradient from east-northeast to west-southwest. The groundwater mirrors this surface flow, moving from the northeast toward the southwest. To the northeast of Dinuba, modest hills reach elevations up to 526 feet.
The 2010 census detailed a population of 21,453, with a density of 3,315.7 people per square mile. The demographic composition was predominantly White at 52%, with smaller percentages of African American, Native American, Asian, and Pacific Islander populations. Other races and multi-racial individuals comprised the remainder, with Hispanics or Latinos representing 84.4% of the population.
It was recorded that 99.2% of the population lived in households, with a small percentage residing in non-institutionalized group quarters or institutional settings. Of the 5,593 households, 58.6% included children under 18, and most were opposite-sex married couples. A single female or male-headed some households. Unmarried opposite-sex partnerships and a few same-sex marriages were also noted. About 12% of households consisted of individuals, and 5.8% were seniors living alone. The typical household size was 3.81, and families averaged 4.04 members.
Population distribution showed a youthful demographic, with a median age of 27.2 years. The gender ratio was nearly balanced, with a slight male majority. Dinuba had 5,868 housing units, with the majority being owner-occupied. Both the homeowner and rental vacancy rates were low, and most residents lived in owner-occupied units.

Disability Services Provider Lismore
With an extensive local presence in the Lismore, Byron Bay, and Northern NSW region, Champion Mentors is your trusted NDIS support worker business. They offer personalised, reliable services to foster independence, well-being, and a brighter future for their clients.
A displaced Lismore disability pensioner told the royal commission that he feels stuck in limbo after being bounced around different short-term accommodation. He also says he has been repeatedly mistreated by his care provider. To know more about Disability Services Provider, visit the Dabba Mallangyirren website or call 0403856995.
The disability assessment process varies widely between countries, which leads to inconsistent definitions of disability and who qualifies for social protection. In some cases, these processes are based on medical diagnosis alone. This approach is common in assessments for some disability benefits in Latvia, Cyprus and Malta, as well as in an assessment for children used in Iceland.
This method of assessing an individual’s disability focuses on physical or mental limitations, rather than their ability to do something, and measures their functional capacity using a set of standardised tests. The assessment can also include an interview with a trained health professional.
It is important to note that in accordance with General Obligations of the CRPD, all disability assessments should take into account the person’s human rights. This includes respect for the right to a life with dignity, as well as the right to adequate living conditions and access to appropriate services and supports. Moreover, a disability assessment should not prejudice an individual’s right to work (Article 13 CRPD). This is particularly important when assessing individuals for safety-sensitive jobs.
If you have been assessed as eligible for accommodation, Disability services provider Lismore can help you find Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) vacancies that match your needs. The SDA vacancy finder allows you to search by building type, location and more. Usually, the dwelling must align with your plan. To register for accommodations, complete the Application for Accommodations and Services and submit documentation of your disability to DS. You will also meet with DS staff for an intake appointment, either in person or online, and develop an accommodation plan. See the Registation Guidelines and FAQs document for further information.
Thorough documentation is required including diagnosis, current status of your disability, level of functioning and a summary.
Occupational therapy practitioners help people of all ages promote health and live life to its fullest through therapeutic use of daily activities. Their services include designing assistive equipment for daily living tasks, rehabilitative programs, and community-based day respite services. They also provide support coordination and education.
Unlike other healthcare professionals, such as physical therapists, who focus on reducing pain and improving mobility, an OT will work with you to find ways to complete the daily activities that define who you are. They will start by discussing your medical history and watching you perform some tasks to evaluate your needs. To know more about Disability Services Provider, visit the Dabba Mallangyirren website or call 0403856995.
Multicap is one of the leading disability services provider in Australia offering individuals a range of options including personalised day and community respite services, social and recreational opportunities and accommodation assistance. Their NDIS registered services are backed by years of experience and knowledge of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) legislation and guidelines. Their team includes qualified allied health professionals and a dedicated Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to support you to maximise your benefits.

What Is Medium Term Accommodation?
Medium term accommodation NDIS is a type of home and living support the NDIS may fund. It’s available for participants who have confirmation of a long term home, such as an SDA tenancy or SIL.
It’s usually funded for 90 days. The NDIA will assess your situation and goals, such as your best long term home, when adding this support to your plan.
It’s a temporary place to stay
Medium term accommodation can be added to your NDIS plan as part of your home and living supports, but you don’t have to have a long term home in mind. It is also a useful option to have in place if you’re being discharged from hospital and are waiting for a vacancy in SDA, SIL or ILO, you’re awaiting completion of home modifications, or your current living arrangements don’t suit you.
NDIS health liaison officers will work with you and your hospital discharge team to identify your disability support needs and the best home and living supports for you. They’ll help you collect the evidence you need to support your application for home and living supports such as assessments, daily support needs reports and a home visit from a BIT specialist.
MTA is typically funded for up to 90 days and can be combined with other core supports such as a home automation system or a sifter bed. You can find housing that accepts MTA funding on the Housing Hub here.
It’s not a home
NDIS participants can access Medium term accommodation if they are unable to move into their long-term home because their disability supports aren’t ready yet. It’s usually funded for 90 days and is included in their plan under Home and Living Supports.
The NDIS considers a participant’s circumstances, daily support needs and whether or not the proposed supports meet their needs and preferences when considering if they should receive Medium Term Accommodation. This information is recorded in the participant’s plan and may include assessments by allied health professionals or daily support needs reports.
At Montrose, we provide a high standard of accommodation with well-trained staff focused on your comfort, privacy and dignity. Our goal is to help you to become as independent as possible during your stay. We also work closely with your informal carer, hospital or rehabilitation staff and BIT specialist to ensure they are able to visit you as often as possible. This is important because it gives them a break from caring duties and provides you with a different environment to rest and relax in.
It’s not a hostel
When we hear the word hostel, we immediately think of a cheap, shared place for backpackers and young people on gap years. We envision dingy rooms, bunk beds (possibly with bed bugs), a shared kitchen and a communal shower. But is this a fair stereotype?
Hostels are also changing rapidly. Some of them now offer upscale services and amenities, including gourmet kitchens, digital workspaces, female-only rooms, and group travel experiences. Others are more traditional and cater to a slightly geriatric crowd.
If you have MTA funding included in your NDIS plan, you can find a provider on the myplace portal or by researching providers online. You may also wish to chat with your Local Area Coordinator or planner to get more information. They can assist you in finding a home that meets your needs. They can also help you with organising a home assessment. MTA funds can be used to pay for housing and daily living supports.
It’s not a hotel
Medium term accommodation (MTA) provides NDIS participants with a temporary place to stay while they’re waiting for their long-term housing options to be ready. It can be a residential house, unit or apartment. In addition to providing a safe and comfortable place to live, MTA providers offer a range of engaging social activities. This is a great way for participants to take a break from their usual routine and recharge their batteries.
MTA is usually funded for up to 90 days. It doesn’t cover day-to-day living costs such as food, internet or electricity. However, it can be paid for using core support funding.
If you’re interested in having MTA included in your plan, talk to your NDIS planner or local area coordinator. They can provide you with a list of MTA providers in your area and help you decide whether it’s the right option for you. They can also help you find a provider that accepts your preferred payment method.

Home care is a range of services to assist people living at home who need help with daily activities. It may include personal care, household or domestic assistance, social support, meals or shopping. It can also involve access to equipment or aids, such as a wheelchair or bath lift.
Having access to home care can mean that people can stay at home longer and live a more independent life. It can help them to manage their health and wellbeing and keep safe in their own homes, or help them avoid entering residential aged care. A person can get home care from a community organisation, local government, private provider or family and friends. The services that are available can vary from state to state and depend on the level of care that a person needs.
The most important thing is that you choose the right services and care providers for you. This is why a free home care information visit from a My Aged Care adviser is a great way to start. Our services are delivered by a team of qualified nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and psychologists. We can provide assistance with day-to-day tasks such as meal preparation and cleaning, and can also help you with bathing and dressing, medication reminders and toileting. Disability Service Providers in Victoria
Disability service providers are expected to manage their money carefully. They are not allowed to keep large amounts of money on behalf of their clients. They must also keep regular account statements.
OPA believes that the new Disability Act should include a clear, overarching objective to promote community inclusion and protect the rights and interests of people with disability. This would require ongoing funding for specialised advocacy.
Community Services
Disability service providers Victoria offer a range of community services to help you live comfortably in your home and improve your quality of life. Some of these include personal care, domestic assistance, respite and home modifications. They can also assist with employment support services and assistive technology. They can also manage money on your behalf, but they must comply with strict rules when doing so.
In addition to handling complaints about disability services in Victoria, they can help people with disabilities who want to make a complaint outside the state. They can also provide information about government payments and connect people with disability to sport and recreation opportunities in their community.
Several Victorian disability service providers are under review by the Department of
Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Disability Ombudsman after a Four Corners investigation found some clients were mistreated. Some have been referred to police for possible criminal conduct. The DHHS has asked the Disability Services Commissioner to inquire into and, at his discretion, investigate matters involving the provision of services by disability service providers.
Residential Services
Residential services offer a place for people with disability to stay in and live life on their terms. They can include shared accommodation services or independent living units, or day programs in community settings. They can also be a respite option for carers and family members.
Under the Disability Services Act, residential service providers cannot manage a person’s money except in special circumstances and they must follow strict rules. If a service user feels that they are not being treated fairly, they can ask for a review at VCAT.
A provider must advise the department within fourteen days of any changes to their details on the Register or if they wish to remove their registration. The department can also visit any location where a provider provides services. Authorised officers must have a reason to enter the private bedroom of a resident and must request permission. They may also interview staff. They must produce identification and let the service user know the purpose of the visit.
Supported Accommodation Services
Disability housing can take the form of private rental, home ownership or specialist accommodation. In some cases, the person with a disability may live in shared supported accommodation (SSA). The trend in residential disability housing is towards smaller SSA settings and a shift away from large group homes to community-based options.
Many disability service providers offer a range of support services for people living in supported accommodation. These supports can include active, routine-based day programs. Some also provide help with cooking, cleaning, shopping and completing daily tasks.
Some SSA services are provided by the NDIS as Specialist Disability Accommodation
(SDA). The Victorian Government owns SDA across Victoria and the unit in Disability Homes Victoria manages these properties. More information about SDA and how to find a place to live in SDA is available on the NDIS website. People who have SDA in their NDIS plan can search and apply for a vacancy via the Housing Hub website or NDIS SDA Finder.
Employment Services
Disability service providers must be registered to operate in Victoria. This registration ensures that the provider is a recognised business and must comply with the legislative requirements. These requirements include program guidelines, standards, monitoring and accountability conditions.
The Department has a registry that lists the details of all registered disability service providers. It is available online and is updated each year. It includes the name, address and contact details of each provider. It also specifies the services that each provider offers.
The registry is a tool that enables people with disability to find information about the quality of disability service providers in their area. It is an important resource for individuals who want to be independent and have control over their lives. The registry also identifies the contact information for the Disability Services
Commissioner. The Commissioner is an independent and accessible person who can investigate complaints against disability service providers. The Commissioner also provides advice and education to promote a culture of respect for the rights of people with disability.
