Squeeze is the fifth and final studio album released by The Velvet Underground. 1973 on Polydor Records, it features no members of the #loureed -era group other than multi-instrumentalist #dougyule , who wrote and recorded the album almost entirely by himself. Yule had joined the #velvetunderground prior to recording their self-titled third album, replacing founding member #johncale , and had contributed significantly to the fourth album, #loaded . Following the departures of the remaining founding members (Reed and #sterlingmorrison ), Yule took control of the band. Longtime drummer #maureentucker was slated to appear on Squeeze by Yule, but she was dismissed by the band's manager, #stevesesnick . This copy is on Polydor Records - 2383-180. (On the album cover it is followed by SUPER, but not on the record label.) #squeeze failed to chart and quickly fell into obscurity after its release.
