Note: this is not an actual thing, this is just a bunch of ideas I cobbled together about a hypothetical Naruto game because I was sleep-deprived at 2 — 3 a.m. after drinking too much coffee and being buried in irl stuff and my brain was not braining properly—

I said I would yap about a Naruto gacha game concept involving both combat and exploration and I will now yap—

Unfortunately I don’t have anything plot-related in mind so it’ll just be whatever I dumped in my notes for now (and I’ll also be using references such as Genshin and Honkai to help bc I’m ass at words):

First of all, currencies:

Karmic Seals = Primogems / Stellar Jades

Pathways = Constellations / Eidolons

Scrolls = Fates / Star Rail Passes

Standard Scroll = Acquaint Fate / Standard Star Rail Pass

Karmic Scroll = Intertwined Fate / Special Star Rail Pass

Summoning = Wish / Warp

Ryo = currency (Mora / Credits)

Ryo would be the in-universe currency, and it actually has appeared in several actual Naruto games already (notably in the Ultimate Ninja Storm series).

The Karmic Seals would be used to obtain Scrolls, the same way that Primogems (Genshin Impact) and Stellar Jades (Honkai: Star Rail) are used to obtain Fates and Star Rail Passes respectively.

Scrolls would be used on Summoning banners to pull for more characters to add to your roster.

If you summon a character who is already on your roster, they’ll receive an upgrade to unlock a Pathway to increase their capabilities or acquire new talents.

There are two kinds of Scrolls for two different Summoning banners: Standard and Karmic.

Standard is exactly what it sounds like: the banner that gives you a 5-star if you pull on it and the result is randomized — and also gives you a 5-star from that banner every time you pull for a limited 5-star but you fail the 50/50. 🫠

Next up, we have our three starter pack: Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, all three of them being 4-stars. I would imagine that, if it’s not a game where you have your own character, you would start with Naruto and then obtain Sasuke and Sakura after beating Mizuki (with a trial version of Iruka).

Kakashi is one of the 5-stars you would pull from the standard banner, and unfortunately that also makes him one of the 5-stars you’ll get if you lose the 50/50. 🥲 (So sorry, my man…)

Uhhhhh what else—

So moving on to maps—

If there’s one thing I would like to see, it would be us being allowed to explore certain buildings in the Leaf Village / Konoha, and places outside of the Leaf Village / Konoha.

The Academy is where ninjas graduate from, and I think that’s also where missions are assigned; so it would be the go-to location for receiving side missions to earn money (so you could, you know, buy supplies and whatnot).

As for places outside of Konoha, obviously the rest of the Land of Fire (the Fire Temple, Valley of the End where Naruto and Sasuke fought, etc) the and other main countries and villages (Land of Waves, Kiri, Oto, Suna, Kumo, Iwa, Ame, etc); but also other locations and / or dungeons, like:

Mount Myoboku

Ryuchi Cave

Shikkotsu Forest (so sad we didn’t get to see more with Katsuyu and the slugs)

Mount Koryu (from the Dragon Blade Chronicles game if no one remembers, honestly miffed that the game could have done quite a bit because ✨ dragons ✨ but the developers didn’t expand on things like lore and just kept things repetitive, like the dungeon crawling 🫠)

Uzushio

Land of Sound / Land of Rice Fields (iirc, the latter was the original name of the Land of Sound before Orochimaru took over)

Land of Snow

The last one reminds me: environmental hazards.

Obviously, you would be able to use chakra to walk across water, on vertical surfaces, and of course upside down. (Maybe the camera angle will shift to reflect that? Though that might cause dizziness lol—) If you released while on the water, you’ll start swimming instead and only consume stamina instead of chakra. If you released on walls or while upside-down, though, you’ll just fall; and if you don’t break your fall in time, you’ll definitely take fall damage.

Don’t worry, you wouldn’t drown if you ran out of chakra and / or stamina as long as you weren’t swimming in some place like in a whirlpool. ☝️🤓

Unfortunately, if you fall into the water, you would still take fall damage depending on how high you fell from. 💀

The climate of particular geographic locations could also be hazardous. The Land of Snow, for example, might have certain areas where it’s way too cold without certain equipment, food buffs or environmental sources of heat, and that would affect your characters.

There could also be places throughout the world that affect chakra usage, or even nullify its use altogether, rendering your characters normal humans and forcing you to stick with melee and ranged weapons when enemies attack. (Let’s hope you’re good at dodging!)

Some boss fights might also require you to pay attention to and take advantage of the environment, like “Watch out for falling rocks,” “Use [X] to target those flying enemies,” “Destroy these barrels to set enemies on fire,” “Launch [X] to disrupt the enemy’s attack” or “Destroy [X] to deploy a shield before the enemy launches their attack!” That sort of thing.

Aight, that’s about all I’ve got so far. 🥶
