In most of my yoga classes I ask my students to do one of the hardest poses for them to do... smile. I'll get them into a twist of have them hold a standing pose for a little longer and have them pull together a smile. It is the highlight of my day. Share with us one thing that made you smile today. Little or large tell us! This morning I was waiting for my bagel and and a very elderly man walked up to me (cane and all) He gently grabbed my arm and said, "Can you do me a favor? When you go to leave, when you walk by our table, can you walk quickly? We are a bunch of old men with heart conditions and you are just so beautiful you could give us a heart attack. I used to be a trainer back in my day and just had to tell you how beautiful you are." I shared a huge smile and giggle with him as I looked back at his table with his three friends watching. They all had a nice laugh and apologized for being "dirty old men" Just a moment later I turned around and a young lady complimented my shoes. In the span of 3 minutes I decided I didn't want to leave the bagel shop because I knew these were the nicest people I'd meet all day. I couldn't help but believe neither of these things would have happened had my face been buried in my phone. I like to keep it tucked away as much as I can in the hopes of connecting with new people.
