Also! while I'm here: this made me think of that scene in hideaway that I affectionately call "Michael's She's Everything" scene and how Kai must have felt then, when his heart is skipping beats now. Oh, if only Kai knew where this all would lead.

(1/2) Hey, 1st anon here. Thanks for the reply, you spelt out my feelings with glorious gifs and all! Idk if you watched the newest ep but I'm SO F-ING done with D the apologist. I feel like some people want to believe that he's going to sacrifice himself in the end, but I think that's giving the writers too much benefit in seeing what a shit-tastic character he really is. They keep bringing up the "it's S's fault all this happened b/c he made me turn" and I feel like S is going to have to

(2/2) sacrifice himself to get D’s ultimate “forgiveness” & let him lead the “happy” life D supposedly “deserved” before he turned. After everything S’s done for D over the years to make up for his guilt in making D turn, this is STILL coming up, & I am SO over it. I just want D to DIE. It’d just be so F-ED up if S had to die for D and SC didn’t get their HEA bc JP worships at D’s alter. So keeping my expectations low. Sry for the rant lol I’m just sad I can’t have nice things.

i just finished watching.. n yeah damon needing to forgive stefan was what was keeping him in his mind prison hell ????????

but you know the bright side to this?

Stefan’s obsessive love for damon was basically GUILT. Which means caroline is wrong to believe he loves damon more than her. He doesn’t love him more than her. He just feels responsible for making him who he is and thats the reason he keeps sacrificing for him over and over again. I think the fact that Damon escaped his mind prison is because he effectively forgave him - no holds barred. so i don’t think there will be another ultimate forgiveness. I think defan will finally be at peace with each other after this arc. 

so Damon absolving him of this guilt basically means two things for us steroliners.

1. HE CAN STOP SACRIFICING FOR DAMON. Which means he won’t sacrifice for Damon in the finale. This just gave us a better chance of seeing stefan survive the finale rather than sacrifice for his brother yet again. 

2. CAROLINE WAS WRONG WHEN SHE SAID HE LOVES DAMON MORE. I do think this was more about the ripper preying on her insecurities and making sure she gives up on him for good, but regardless, right now she thinks Damon is the key to bringing him back because he loves damon more. She doesn’t know what exactly went down in damon’s head, she doesn’t know it wasn’t love but guilt. this also means that the chances of caroline being the one to bring him back just shot up exponentially. And honestly after seeing him ready to leave caroline to die, i really need her to bring him back or my shipper soul will not be happy.

And yes jp does worship at Damon;s alter. Not just jp, KW too. At the upfronts after s6 i remember him going on and on about damon. he was far more invested in damon than stefan and now that he’s back, you cant expect the damon worship to subside.

personally I’m of the view that one must take responsibility for their own actions. Stefan may have enticed him into turning but i don’t agree that everything Damon has done since is on Stefan.

Stefan turned Damon into a vampire, but Damon chose to be a monster. Vampirism only amplifies who you are, or has jp decided to forget that little tidbit. Damon Salvatore the human was a timid fella - how was stefan supposed to know that damon would turn into this ugly creature ?  That was all him. 

Rant all you want anon. I feel ya. This is such a rollercoaster ride. One min I’m so positive that everything is going to be just perfect and the next minute I’m all WE ARE DOOOOMMEED !

i hope we get stefan back soon.  Im kinda tired of the ripper. 

next episode looks promising with caroline on the brink of death. Hope we won’t be disappointed and Stefan betrays some emotion. I’d prefer it if he turned it on.. but.. probably won’t happen.
