hey Jon can we have that book recommendation I’m curious
STATEMENT OF DONNA RHETTE, REGARDING 'THIS FUCKING BOOK'- VERBATIM FROM TEXT. STATEMENT TAKEN FROM REVIEW LEFT ON www.lionstreetbooks.com/i-spy-housewarming/K-6482749278.html
(tw: stalking, scopophobia, loss of child, arson)
STATEMENT BEGINS.

★☆☆☆☆
do not purchase this book do not buy anything off this website theyre stealing your information. this website is unreliable and customer service does not respond they do not pick up their phones.
i bought this book for my 5 year old daughter. she kept waking me up in the middle of the night for weeks beforehand. it was normal, kids do that, kids are scared of monsters. but i would always read her i spy. we have every other edition, down to the miniature versions and the seasonal ones. eventually, she learned where everything was, though, and the books got boring, so i looked up 'i spy books' for the 80th time this month. it brought me here, and i purchased the book for shipping.
the very next day it was brought here, and i was astonished at first, but once i saw the condition of how it was packed, i figured why it came so fast. it was a wreck, the corners all beat, a handful of packing peanuts and some thin paper tossed cattywompus inside. the shippers mustve played hacky-sack with it before tossing it up to the house
even so, my girl was excited. she had completely forgotten about the supposed monsters, she just wanted the book. it's a unique edition for sure, instead of looking for small items on a small scale, it just looks like pictures of parks or buildings, along with riddles like 'i spy a tricycle, i spy ten cards, i spy a crack in concrete that's hard'. it was a change of pace for me, even- a challenge. but my daughter was doing phenomenally.
the photographer must be local to my area, because i recognized the photos soon. hell, i think i saw the back of my head in the bank one. but it got strange when it came to a picture of a street.
my street of my home.
now im thinking, 'maybe it's personalized, it's google maps, and they look up the address for the buyer before they send it out?' but that was... impossible. after i ordered the book it came the very next day, there was no way theyd be able to just cram this page in last second. not only that, but there was the riddle.
i spy a sewer grate, a baseball, a torch,
i spy a busted-up box on the porch.
i shut the book on that page and told my daughter to go to bed. there was fuss, but something was wrong. i tuck her in and she complains again about monsters in the window. all through the night, theres monsters in the window, and i snap at her when she wakes me up the 3rd time.
at that point she was crying, and i was.. yelling. i dont feel good about it, god, especially not now, but i was tired and scared. thats no excuse. so was she.
after telling her it would be ok, she slept in my bed with me. i held her tight the whole night through, and i would do my research in the morning, i assured myself.
but i didnt het a chance. by sunrise she was gone. not in her bed, in her pillow fort, not in the kitchen, the den, nowhere. i phone the police, and i end up running down the street screaming her name.
as i get back home, though, i felt compelled to that damn book. god, why did i go back to that damn book??
it was a picture of us through the window.
'i spy ten earrings, 2 rings, and a comb
i spy a mom and daughter at home.'
it was like my tears froze from shock. i steeled myself and flipped to the next page.
'i spy a woman, big tears and brown curls
i spy a book, but i see no girl.'
as i said, the police are investigating this store. burn in hell you freak. ill see you there.
Well. It took some digging, but there's your recommendation. We were able to get I Spy: Housewarming from the crime scene - or, more so, the wreckange. Donna was griefstruck, this adding onto the loss of her husband shortly before this, leading to a burst of arson. The book was recovered just fine, seemingly one of the Leitners that can withstand some flames.

In Tokyo debunkers I have been thinking about the first years and what they have in common.I think all of them are short-sighted or have tunnel vision this isn't a bad trait
I may be wrong on this or miss remembering so if I'm wrong please correct it.Please excuse the formatting I'm on mobile and the length.
Leo-
He is the easiest one for this, the speech that Alan gave him at the end of vagastorm kinda sums up lot of leo problems. There was a post about Leo possibly self-sabotage or disregard for his own self, there's merit look at the scene of Leo,Alan and Thoma.
He may have figured out that Alan wasn't going to hurt him but Thoma was a complete wild card in that situation,he was grabbing his axe.Along with setting up the PC,he used her to his liking and was planning to fuck her over after the fact.Image if his planned success what would have happened most likely no more access to the PC if she believes her boasting does not work. That means no more spying on Thoma and Alan.
Please tell me if this has any weight.I have to go to work.Thank you
Sorry this took so long, anon! I wanted to reply earlier but I thought that maybe mobile wasn't showing parts of the message(it sounded kind of like you were going to list the ways the other first-years were short-sighted/prone to tunnel vision) so I wanted to check it on desktop and my Taiga brain ADHD made me keep forgetting 8'D Excuse me for rambling so much, I get a little long-winded! TL;DR, I do think you're right, although Leo isn't as careless as you think, and I think Sho isn't really prone to tunnel vision or short-sightedness beyond that he seems to bounce between interests somewhat easily.
Yeah, I agree that the first years are a little prone to tunnel vision--like, they all must have come here with something in mind and that something will expand in their time here. Ritsu intended to acquire clients--particularly the famous and wealthy Frostheimers who are prone to controversy and scandal. Ren has implied some issues with his family so he possibly did this to escape the responsibilities of home--and now he has to try and escape the responsibilities of work too. Sho. . .I think Sho is the least short-sighted of them in a sense? Sho seems very much like he takes things day by day and he does whatever catches his interest and whatever makes things easiest for Leo, even if it means he gets in trouble when Leo should've. He's really intelligent and has a plethora of hobbies and interests, although he puts a lot of his passion in cooking and tends to drop most other things that aren't sports. And Leo, like he said, came here expecting it to be a lot more fun to be around other people who made pacts with demons, and he acts like he only cares about thrills, profits, and having a good time. Most of them don't care about others or only care about others in superficial ways that benefit them(again, with the exception of Sho who at least seems to be more good-natured and considerate so far, unless Leo is telling the truth when he says Sho acts that way to get and keep customers, which wouldn't make sense since Sho only recently started the food truck.)
About the meeting in the car, both of them were reaching for their weapons, not just Tohma. Because they didn't know what was happening when they were summoned to the car by the other but they were both confused, so they suspected foul play and prepared for a fight either way. They may have been about to fight each other, suspecting the other wasn't actually themself, frankly. I think they had their hands on their weapons before that panel was shown. See how they both already have their hands off to their sides by the time Leo pops in, after they both get confused? Reaching for their weapons was happening before Leo made himself known.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Leo is smart enough to know Alan wouldn't let him get hurt even if Tohma started swinging--although I imagine he was being sarcastic when he said he didn't think Tohma knew who he was and he knew Tohma wouldn't just start attacking him mindlessly. Tohma was at the entrance ceremony(he already saw Tohma's information with Darkwick so he would have recognized him anyway, and he could probably ascertain from how diligent Tohma is that he would also recognize Leo already) and he also knew Tohma knew of him from when he listened in on them previously. Even if Tohma did pull out his weapon, Alan would have recognized Leo and his voice when he started speaking and protected him. Leo knows who his muscle is. He wouldn't have had put himself in a situation he didn't think he couldn't safely get out of. He does this kind of thing far too much to not know his exits--not to mention, you don't immediately hurt or kill someone who pulled something like he did. You get information first. It's just the smart thing to do, especially when they're already worried about a spy. (Plus you can't just willy nilly try and kill motherfuckers on campus. The likelihood that Tohma was actually going to try and kill, or even injure, him was slim to none.)
As for convincing the PC their power didn't work, they already knew it worked from when they used it in Frostheim. They just wouldn't think it always worked. He would still be able to ask them to come and use it on the basis of 'let's see if we can get it to work.' He'd be claiming it'd help them, because if they don't know what does and doesn't cause it to work, they and Darkwick would want to figure it out--and since he would be able to say 'it seems like it works when we use it together' they'd end up relying on him to help them understand when it does and doesn't work. The PC just probably wouldn't be sent on missions with them due to being a liability. Also, he could still spy on Tohma and Alan--just not while they're in the soundproofed car. He mentions in the campus chat that they likely have more than one place they meet up(unless he wasn't spying on Tohma and Alan at that point, but somebody else), and he also plants bugs in the car according to his home screen dialogues(although they get destroyed.) He'd be able to spy on them less, but it's not like they only ever meet in there, and I'm sure he'd figure that out quickly enough.
You have to remember what the guy does for a living outside of being an influencer--he corners rich people and basically makes them give up money in exchange for him not releasing information they'd wanna keep private. His proper introduction is at the "mercy" of a guy with a knife who's clearly threatened to stab him multiple times based on the multiple stabbed pillows around them, summoning Sho to help him. He puts himself in danger all the time, but he always has at least one way to be backed up. He was second in scholastic ability among all the first years. He's extremely intelligent and clever. Yes, he is short-sighted, but that's in terms of making things work. He'll treat the symptoms without resolving the problem if he can, like Alan said--if it gets the desired result who cares if it's right or wrong in the long run? But he's not so careless that he'd put himself into that much danger with no backup plan--although he is careless enough to put himself in the danger in the first place, but. Everything involves risks.
The problem is that backup plans can fall through and understandings of situations can too. Like Alan said, he does need to take better care of himself because he absolutely is careless--not extraordinarily so imo, but definitely careless. Leo is willing to put himself in danger for an end goal, but it's not like he runs into things with no plan and no backup. Leo is smart enough to get things to work with his wits and his words 99% of the time, but that one percent is gonna get him in real trouble eventually--and we've already seen his plans partially fall through two or three times(although two were after they served their purposes.) Alan realized when Sho wouldn't eat the spicy donuts that he and Leo lied about who was at fault for their acting outside of the scope of their mission. Even at the end of the encounter with the anomaly, Sho ended up telling the [half?] truth and backing up that the PC was able to buff his stigma instead of going on with their deal, which Leo hadn't expected. And the PC and Alan, in Alan's character story, end up investigating the actual circumstances behind Jun and Takeru's deaths. He's used to things working out for him and going his way, so he doesn't consider enough what could happen if they don't. Short-sighted, yeah, careless, yes but not as much so as you might think. Calculated risks, normally really good at math. But sometimes you get the math wrong.
I do think you're not wrong as far as most of them being a little short-sighted though. The only one I kinda disagree with is Sho, but even Sho's like. . .he only cares about his interests, but he goes through with what other people want from him anyway sometimes? Like he tends to train with Alan in The Pit despite complaining about it a lot, enough so that Alan doesn't have to use the punching bag in his room as much when he trains since he can spar with Sho instead. He's also constantly doing whatever Leo wants despite seeming to dislike it, and letting himself take the fall for Leo's bad behavior. But maybe that follower mentality is a sort of short-sightedness and tunnel vision as well. . .then again, like he said to Hyde, "If I can use you to get ahead, I'm doing it." That's not really very short-sighted at all, he clearly has other things in mind. . .but it's hard to tell with Sho. We rarely see his motivations. Like I can't really pin down what Sho is. . .after in life. But also, Sho cycles through interests(with the exception of cooking and maybe basketball) frequently, so I get the feeling that's the point. Sho doesn't know what he wants either, and he follows who and whatever seems most interesting. When the PC says he could make money off of cooking, he takes a shine to that idea and immediately opens up a food truck. Fortunately he seems to like cooking and serving food for others a lot, because he's sticking to it at the moment.

Akeshu/ShuAke proposal but they both planned to propose and it quickly turns into a competitive game of trying to one up the other in increasingly extravagant proposal methods.
"You look flustered."
"Uh----well, I----"
"Just spit it out, I won't bite."
Akiren quickly brings out a tiny box, and slides it over to Akechi. There's a pause, Akiren looking away in embarrassment, Goro staring at the box before slowly opening it.
"You fool---" Akiren looks back at Akechi, startled by his voice and worried it was a direct refusal.
"I should have known you'd try something like this--" A sly smirk on Akechi's face.
As if slamming down a game breaking playing card, Akechi dramatically places a slightly bigger box, already open displaying the shiny engagement ring.
Akiren suddenly bursts into maniacal evil villain worthy laughter, the shy embarrassed facade completely gone. "You fell for my trap detective, now I show my real hand!"
Plops a second also already open engagement ring box, same color as Akechi's but with an embroidered romantic message on it, also taped to the open engagement box is a romantic quote written on a signature Phantom Thieves Calling Card.
Akechi stands up, Last Surprise music starts up in the background. "You think I'd be moved so easily by such a predictable gesture and cute nod to your alter ego? Two can play at that game!"
*Akechi rips off his current outfit, revealing a Prince attire straight out of a storybook. He spreads his right arm out, as on cue seemingly out of nowhere a Crow flies though the window, and lands perched on Akechi's arm, a custom made bird themed ring between its beak.
Akiren stands up from his own seat, to match the same energy, claiming he's got something better.
In the background, a random family sits at their own dining table, a little boy approximately seven to nine lightly tugs at his mom's sleeve and innocently asks why the two young men across from them are yelling and chucking a seemingly infinite amount of engagement rings at each other.
The competition keeps increasing, Akechi snaps his fingers and a random dart flies through the window, nearly hitting Akiren but landing in a wooden beam luckily. Paper wrapped around the dart unfurls upon contact revealing a "Be Mine" message, surrounded with Diamonds and Roses.
Akiren points Akechi's attention to a TV in the Diner broadcasting the news about a crowd in utter bewilderment of the giant TV screen showing a cryptic video of an animation of Crows flying and black cats following by, text saying: May I Steal Your Heart And Hand? Ending with an image of two Engagement Rings crossing in an X position.
It all eventually culminates in Akiren whipping out a walkie talkie, ordering "Bring It In". Yusuke, Ann, and Haru come bursting through the door wheeling a waiter food cart, a large plate of pancakes towered to almost touching the ceiling. Delicately placed at the top a lone diamond ring.
Before Akechi can open his mouth to respond to either pull out another trick or accept, Maruki--who has been sitting behind them in trenchcoat and hat and not-at-all-intentionally-spying-on-them, breaks the silence and simultaneously blowing his cover by yelling in exasperated frustration "JUST SAY 'YES' ALREADY!"

UHHH I HAVE NO OTHER IDEAS RN BUT LOVE UR HC'S SOOO What would their reaction to modern tech be? Yknow assuming they're in the 90's as I assume from the tech we see in game-
I also assume they're in the 90's!
Modern tech
Peppino: Absolutely confused. Complete boomer. Could barely work the computer he had. Same with smartphones. Can't figure out how to call anyone. Who is this that keeps texting him?
Gustavo: A little confused. Would probably love the idea of smart watches, they're just like the spy movies! Would be ok with using a smartphone. Probably has to teach Peppino how to use it.
Mr. Stick: LOVES smartphones. They make his life so much easier. Probably is at like level 1,352 of Candy Crush. As for computers, he's amazed how far technology has come.
Pepperman: Art tablet? Paint programs? EUREKA! How did it take so long for him to discover such amazing technology! No one would hear from him for months as he locks himself away making digital art.
The Vigilante: Can barely figure out 90's computers, is even more confused by modern computers! What is a face book? That sounds scary. And why is this phone all flat??? His fingers are too big to press a single button.
The Noise: Would figure it out pretty quickly. Loves the idea of smartphones and smart watches. They're so cool! He and Noisette made each other custom ringtones.
Noisette: She loves smartphones! She can text so much easier now. And [gasp!], are those CAT EAR HEADPHONES?!?!?! Hey Noise... Can she see your debit card real quick?
Fake Peppino: Pizzahead gave him an iPad! Yay! WAIT NO DON'T EAT IT! It's for play! See? Jerry's Game! Pop balloons! Oh, shiny! And look! Coloring! Ooooo!!! STOP TRYING TO EAT IT. Ugh, now it's all sticky...
Pizzahead: He would be an Apple guy. He thinks it makes him look rich. Has a MacBook, too. Still paying for them. Texts Peppino a million times a day.
Pillar John: He likes the computers! He can play some neat games on them. But as for smartphones... Well, fingers made of stone don't really work for pressing the buttons. Plus, they're too big.
Gerome: Same issue as John, his fingers are made of rock so they really don't work well with smartphones. He's thankful for it, though. He knows Pizzahead would text him a million times.

i cant believe im typing this i-
since its the tcg patch, heres this: scara teaching kabuki how to play tcg. Kabuki was honored bc usually scara only plays with wanderer (that brought the game to the house from the scholars in the academia) and anytime kabuki asked to join, scara would tell him to go away, that he doesnt know how to play and he will ruin the fun (even tho wanderer tells scara to zip it)
so when they start to play, scara will say the next few rounds will be for learning! He knows kabuki lacks alot of knowledge about humans, game logic included, so even after kabuki will catch the tcg rules, kinda, he could manipulate him.
Kabuki truly enjoys playing with his brother, even if he keeps losing, and he loves staring at the cards! Theyre so shiny and pretty! (Also wanderer made a custom mommy card in an extra art class he had, and since scara told kabuki he can have it, he should have KNOWN something is up. Red flag.)
Kabuki starts to learn, and scara explains the rules in a patient way that doesnt suit him at all. When kabuki wins, he let the pride get to his head (he made some wrong moves on purpose) and lets him relax. Then, he drops the next line:
"y'know, humans bet stuff when they play this game."
liar.
Kabuki doesnt understand gambling too well, but he believe his brother. He is quite concerned, and he tells scara he doesnt have any money. (Broke💀) scara tells him its fine, and betting isnt all about money. "For example," he says, "if i win, you stop running naked around the house, (He had enough, just like mommy) For, eh, week.." (he soften the deal)
"And if i win?"
"...you could share the milk time with me, and not have to wait for you and wanderers turn. For a week." (usually scara drinks alone)
Kabuki is excited. He plays, and he loses, and that puts a stop to mommys headaches... from him at least💀
He is ready to stop, he clearly lost, but scara keeps suggesting stuff he knows kabuki is interested in, and stuff kabuki can lose to him, before he says: "now.... if you lose, you give me 20% of your milk time with mommy." Kabuki is stunned! He tells scara thats not a good thing to bet on, because last time they somehow messed with their milk time, they got punished. But scara convince him with these words:
"If i lose, i give you mine."
Kabuki loses. And he loses again. And scara keeps making the milk time% higher and higher. And when his common sense finally sets and he wants to quit, he lost so much of his milk time and he wants to cry to mommy about it, (not snitch! Poor cutie kabuki just wants to cuddle with mommy and tell her he lost "fair and square" to scara.)
Then scara tells him - one more round. This time, he wont take his milk time, he just wants to keep kabuki from telling mommy. And if kabuki wins - he gets all his milk time back.
Of course, kabuki lost. And thats a good time to mention scara didnt explain ALL the rules to him.
Scara smirks, praising himself for this genius plan, while kabuki is sad and about to cry! Little did they both know, that when big bro wanderer came back home and saw scara and kabuki playing, he decided to spy on them and when the game was finished, he went to tell mommy.
Mommy is FURIOUS.
she already told them not to mess with the milk time, but the little stunt scara pulled truly crossed the line. While she is about to give scara the biggest punishment she can think of, AND taking his milk time, kabuki bursts into tears in the corner, begs for mercy from mommy, he truly believes hes as guilty as scara for gamblimg and falling for scaras tricks. Wanderer just rolls his eyes. Scara is now actually really really scared. Just an avarage day for them.
(Im so sorry its so long- i also never sent something to your blog before but i saw it for quite a while. Im sorry if theres any grammar errors english isnt my first language! And i hope you are okay with this stuff?)
such a cute scenario!!! 🫶
i can’t help but imagine scara having such a hard time holding back a smirk as he’s playing with kabuki.. his poker face gradually fading until he’s practically grinning at kabuki’s misery.
big bro wanderer being such a good spy for mommy, letting her know when her boys are up to no good! scara curses him for being a snitch while kabuki looks up to him for looking after them <3
wahhh kabukimono definitely would share at least half of the guilt with scara if he could. tcg match aside, if scara were to get in trouble, kabukimono would run up to mommy when she’s scolding him and tell her it’s his fault too! he should’ve told scara not to do it, or tried harder to stop him! kabuki’s puppy face has softened many punishments for scara…
(don’t worry it’s okay! i appreciate any length of asks sent to me :) thank you for seeing my blog for so long! no worries about your grammar, english isn’t my first language either!)

Parental love is a silent bliss [Fluff, outsider’s POV] Law and Luffy adopt an orphan who ate Cora-san's fruit. This is the story of how their relationships grew and evolved.
Memories from last night [Full on smut with feelings, angst with a happy ending, Modern AU] "He was desperately in love. With the man, with his smile, and with the charisma he exuded effortlessly. And there he was in front of him, eyes burning with desire. All Law had to do was ask. " Or Luffy was the only one for Law. Law was not the only one for Luffy. Or so he thought.
Pet play [Full on smut with feelings, Fluff, Modern AU] “You’re an idiot, you know that, right ?” “Yeah ? Why is that ?” “You dressed me in dog ears and called me your little tiger.” Or Law and Luffy try new things.
Ashes to Dust [Heavy angst, Canon divergence] Law will never forget the night he felt Luffy’s vivre card burn against his chest.
The King Must Serve [Full on smut with feelings, Royal AU] It is said that in the far far kingdom of Flevance, beyond the white mountains and the blue sea, was a secret custom for the newly elected king. The King must serve. [Part 1 of Once upon a time in the kingdom of Flevance]
Luffy and Law met in the Army [Fluff, love confessions, Royal AU] Rosinante plays matchmaker and makes Law meet Luffy. Or The reason why Torao became king. [Part 2 of Once upon a time in the kingdom of Flevance]
Mine. [Full on smut with feelings, love confessions, Royal AU] Luffy gives Law the time of his life. [Part 3 of Once upon a time in the kingdom of Flevance]

Do you know of any solo RPGs that could be plausibly played using the tumblr polls as a mechanic?
THEME: Tumblr Poll Solo Games
Hello dear friend, thank you so much for your patience. Let’s see what I can rustle up.
What I tried to focus on in this post is solo games that have roll tables or similar lists. One of the easiest ways I can think of transforming a ttrpg game into Tumblr polls is to move the roll tables into options on a poll! Many solo games present a large number of options, or a series of roll tables that can be used to generate complex characters, locations and problems. In those games, the player may have to generate a few options for their followers to vote on before the polls can contribute to gameplay. To see what kinds of options are out there, let’s take a look at a few!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sweaters by Hedgehog, by Haunted Oak Press.
You’re just a little hedgehog person trying to sell your little sweaters in your little village shop. This game is about recording a log of your most interesting customers.
Sweaters by Hedgehog is a bit unique on this list because it uses a card deck rather than roll tables. One way you might be able to use roll tables to your advantage is present the different card options on a poll, rather than shuffling the cards into 4 different decks. Alternatively, you could draw a series of cards to present a number of customers, and then present the pre-designed customers in a poll - voters are selecting which customer actually enters the store!
If you would like a cute little game about making sweaters for friendly animal-folk, I definitely recommend Sweaters by Hedgehog.
Taken by the Shadows, by Mundos Infinitos.
A plagued city, a rogue with supernatural abilities.
The County of Arthath has been struck by The Muridae Plague. Riots caused by the dying common folk have weakened the military power. Count Vikkus has decided to establish The Stability Decree to strengthen security, place a curfew and close the border.
But rumors about someone with the necessary skills to break these measures arise... Someone gifted with mysterious supernatural talents... A Masked Thief capable of taking whatever she wants from anyone, without ever being caught...
Taken By The Shadows actually has a Duet mode, in which one player is the Oracle while the other is the player. This might also be a good match for Tumblr polls! There are randomly rolled options to set up your character and world, as well as a number of tables to establish the Jobs available. I think it might be really intriguing to roll on the tables to present a list of Jobs, and then use the Polls to determine which Job your character takes!
If you want a game about sneaking, smuggling, and spying, you might want to check out Taken by the Shadows.
Headlines from Hell, by Zeshio.
A cabal of overlords from hell called the ‘Lizards of the Roast’ have set a plan in motion to overthrow the mortal ruling kingdoms. Instead of using an overt army, hell is slowly corrupting officials. The overlords plan to seize power when enough mortals have been corrupted.
As an investigative reporter, you sense something is wrong. However, no one will believe you without evidence! Find enough information to unite the ruling kingdoms against the overlords of hell before their seeping corruption becomes absolute!
HEADLINES FROM HELL is a solo Table-Top Role Playing Game (TTRPG). In the game, you are a news reporter attempting to sway public opinion against corruption. To win the game, you need 20 EVIDENCE points. You lose if hell gets to 20 CORRUPTION.
This game contains two tracks that race against each-other in regards to how quickly they fill. One is the evidence track, which your character wants to fill in order to reveal the corruption of the Lizards. The other is the Corruption track, which increases each turn and makes it more difficult for you to uncover new information.
Tumblr Polls can be used to help you out with the Headline Generator. You could present each Roll table separately, or roll on the tables to create a number of headlines, then present them to Tumblr for the final verdict. With each selected headline, you’ll also have to roll for public opinion, which could also be turned into a poll! (Very thematic if you ask me!) If you want a game that’s very tongue-in-check and feels like a race against the clock, you might want to check out Headlines From Hell.
Wonderfall, by Catscratcher Studio.
WONDERFALL is a solo hexcrawl RPG about exploration and community building in a post-apocalyptic world. Your people was separated, but playing as a WANDERER (a cute anthropomorphic adventurer!), you'll recover and preserve lost knowledge and culture, help your community heal, and help the world rebuild!
Wonderfall is full of random tables, great for option generation. However, it also has a hex map involved, so this might require greater dedication if you want continue a storyline completely on Tumblr, as you might have to draw and then upload images of the hex map onto your blog. However, almost all choices presented to you can be generated by your followers: Origin Perks, people, encounters, Quests, Problems, etc.
If you like a challenge, if you love map-making, and if you like the idea of anthropomorphic animals wandering a post-apocalyptic fantasy landscape, you should check out Wonderfall!
ScareBnB, by Jacqueline Bryce.
You're a ghost. You're haunting a quaint little bed and breakfast, in the city or the middle of nowhere. Halloween is coming up fast, and both the mortal and natural communities are in a tizzy. What's your unlife like around such an important holiday, in such a liminal space?
ScareBnB is a solo journaling game that requires only 1d20, writing materials, and as much time as you care to devote to it. It comes with a sample week-long scenario, sixty prompts for people and events, and a wealth of potential names for characters.
The character options for ScareBnB are lists of various descriptions and details that help you establish your Bed and Breakfast. There’s also a guest generator, which can be used to present a number of guest options, as well as a sample itinerary, which you could include in each poll to set each list of options within a larger narrative. For example, in New Arrivals, you could generate a couple of possible first-time visitors with the theme of encroaching on your ghosts’s space, and then ask your followers who the most exciting visitor is.
If you’re looking for a Halloween-themed game, or a sliding-scale between goofy and scary spooks, ScareBnB might be for you!
Sapling Soul, by breathingstories.
You are a Sapling Soul. You belong to the Forest but the Forest does not belong to you. The Forest is bigger than you in more ways than one, and you regard it with awe.
Most days you lead an average life, not so different to your peers. But some days you hear the Forest call and you answer. Always you answer.
Tonight the Forest calls to you again. There are always mysterious creatures in the Forest, but tonight something is amiss. There is a newcomer who may cause trouble. You are a Sapling Soul, you are called to help.
There are a few different pieces of Sapling Soul that could be re-designed for polls. One way is determining your attributes: Nurture, Empathy and Unknowable. You can roll 3d6 three times and assign them to your traits following what is voted on through your polls.
The majority of the gameplay works somewhat like a choose-your-own adventure; you could potentially present each option through a Poll, and then document the results of each choice.
If you want to document a potentially haunting and definitely mysterious story of slowly becoming embraced by a Forest that doesn’t want to let you go, you should check out Sapling Soul.
Last Tea Shop, by Spring Villager.
You run a tea shop on the border of the living and the dead. The recently deceased visit for one last hot drink before their long journey into the Great Beyond.
Time is strange here. Days and memories blur. Nobody visited yesterday—you are sure of that. Someone passed last week, but you can't recall their face.
The fog thins. A figure approaches. You stoke the fire.
Last Tea Shop is a one-page solo game about tea and conversation. Set up your stall and wait for visitors to emerge out of the mist. Over a cup of tea, chat to the visitor about their life and help prepare them for their trip into the Lands of the Dead. Record their thoughts, fears, dreams and hopes in your journal for posterity.
There are a lot of lists in this game, from where your shop is located, what kinds of visitors you have, the weather of the day, and the supplies you have to help you make tea. You could potentially present polls for your followers to vote on for each list, interspersing each poll with a description of what happens!
This game also comes with a stall sheet, which can be used to outline how long you’ve been running the stall for, and which visitors have come and gone. If you’re looking for a cozy game that has a lovely setting, I’d recommend Last Tea Shop.
Goncharov: Goncharova, by StickyHunter.
Goncharov: Goncharova is a short journaling game following you—a screenwriter, given Martin Scorsese's personal blessing to create a sequel to Goncharov. This sequel will follow Goncahrov's wife, Katya Goncharova, framing the events of the first movie through the lens of her own experiences.
What kind of script will you write?
What better way to play a roleplaying game on Tumblr than by adding to a myth that originated on Tumblr itself? Goncharov: Goncharova has you writing a sequel to Goncharov by interspersing your own scenes with scenes from the original movie.
There are eight options on the Scene Table, which can be translated into a Poll if you want your followers to choose what happens first. Each new scene must be followed by an iconic scene from the original, of which there are 12 (to represent the hands on a clock, no doubt).  Once you write the Final Betrayal Scene, the game is over - and you are free to tie up any loose ends.
If you want the most referential, in-joke game that you can experience on Tumblr, I heavily recommend Goncharov: Goncharova.

Spy Cards
Me and my best friend have been making an unofficial expansion to a card game for a few months now. The original is called Spy cards, and it started out as a little add-on to the video game Bug Fables. We found an online version of the game that allowed you to make custom cards, and we proceeded to make. a lot of cards. and then we re-balanced all the vanilla cards too.
We have 761 cards in total. the game started with 92.
At this point we've essentially made a completely separate game based on Spy Cards. And we just found an option that allows you to change the core game mechanics, which would allow us to bend it to our will even further. I think that at this point the best thing to do would just be to make our own actual card game. [A full explanation of how the game works and some gameplay examples can be found at the end of this ask].
The big thing about Spy Cards is that rather than players taking turns playing cards, both players resolve their turns at the same time, which we found really unique and is essentially the basis for the game itself (or at least our version of it in which influential cards and combos are often measured in terms of how they impact the turn economy and how many turns you effectively gain or lose).
If all the cards weren't based on video game characters (this started out as just a fun little mod we were doing in our free time, after all) and the entire thing wasn't built in Spy Cards' engine, I do think this could very reasonably be it's own game already. We do a lot of play-testing and have regular balance patches to ensure the meta is fun and fair. There are lots of different deck archetypes that are both viable and fun, with plenty of room for creativity and variation in most of them.
The game works as follows:
Both players start with 5 lives, 2 TP, and a deck of I believe 13 cards. Cards require TP to play, the cost of which is displayed in the top right of the card. Cards are not discarded at the end of our turn, but excess TP is. Every turn, you gain one more TP than you had last turn, to a maximum of 10 i.e turn 1 you start with 2 TP, turn 2 you start with 3 TP, then 4, etc). Cards played can do a variety of things, the most important of which is Attack. Cards can have various amounts of attack. Whoever has the most combined attack that round wins said round, causing their opponent to lose one life point. Deplete your opponent's lives to win!
It seems simple, but their are many other game mechanics cards can have other than attack which make it far more complex. There are cards that draw other cards, place negative cards in your or your opponent's hands, grant extra attack or defence (defence subtracts from your opponent's attack) to cards played with them, and many more! The most important of these I'd say is Setup, which allows you to play cards that have effects trigger a few turns down the line. For instance, you can setup extra TP for your next turn, you can setup extra attack to shore up setup turns or bolster attacking turns, or do other stuff with it!
There are 6 types of cards:
Attackers: These are the most basic cards. They often have few or no secondary effects, instead just providing attack in exchange for TP. This card based on Waddle Dee from the Kirby series costs 2 TP to play and provides 2 Attack, with no other special effects.
Tumblr media
This second attacker card is based on the Moss Knight enemy from Hollow Knight. It's slightly more complex, featuring both attack and setup. You trade some of the immediate power of a regular attacker for some extra power next turn, feeding into the turn economy that is so important to this game.
Tumblr media
Effects: These are the second type of card, and together with attackers make up the lowest rank of card that you can make your deck out of. These cards are defined by having little to no immediate attack, instead focusing on stuff like Numb (block certain cards from triggering), Exile (permanently removing cards from the deck), Draw, Discard, Setup, etc.
Tumblr media
Mini-bosses: The first limited type is Mini-bosses, of which you are only allowed 2 in a deck. These have exceptionally powerful effects that you normally won't see on regular cards. Here's one based off the Crimson Mimic from Terraria:
Tumblr media
The Crimson mimic has the unique effect of only triggering if it can numb a card played on the field with it, in exchange for high attack combined with the powerful and coveted Lifesteal (heal 1 life upon winning this round). Midbosses can do many things that regular cards rarely or never do.
Bosses: You can only have 1 boss per deck, at least to start off with. They often have many powerful effects that promote synergies between them and the rest of your deck. Here's one based on Tinker Knight from Shovel Knight:
Tumblr media
Empower +2 (Bot) means that every card with the class Bot (As can be seen at the bottom of the card) that is played with Tinker Knight gains 2 attack. As he is a very cheap card, you can play many cards with him for a lot of extra value. This even applies to cards that' do not have attack of their own, as long as they have the Bot attribute, which has great synergies with cards that have no upfront power but setup powerful effects that trigger later. He additionally adds 1 to your max hand size for the rest of the game, allowing you to hold more cards to play at opportune moments.

Paul Helliwell was an American original, a master of the arcane craft of concealing secret business operations. A legendary hard-drinking OSS colonel in World War II, businessman, lawyer, and banker after the war, he became so successful that he should have made the cover of Fortune. The only problem: Helliwell was not a businessman at all. He was a CIA officer on assignment.
Tumblr media
Helliwell pioneered the art of illegally financing intelligence activity to avoid bureaucratic accountability. He formulated techniques for creating banks and businesses to cover CIA operations. In the late 1940s, organizations like Brown Brothers Harriman and the Chase Manhattan Bank were happy to accommodate the young spy agency. But with the advent of covert operations where laws were broken, the CIA needed smaller banks and business fronts not subject to U.S. laws or SEC rules or the veto of nervous corporate executives. Helliwell was well qualified for this task. He had, from the beginning, been in on one of the CIA's most closely guarded secret operations. Of the long, secret list of CIA wrongdoing that constituted the Agency's so-called "family jewels," Helliwell had the details of the most outrageous and long-running Agency crime. Ever since 1949, the CIA had allowed the rebel armies and dictators it supported in Asia to deal in illegal drugs in order to finance their operations. After retiring from the CIA, Paul Helliwell, founder of such agency "proprietaries" as SEA Supply Inc. of Bangkok and Air America, opened a law office in Miami and formed Castle Bank offshore in nearby Nassau to cover the agency's covert money movements. In 1973 agents of the Internal Revenue Service were able to photograph the Castle Bank's customer list while a bank executive dined in a posh Key Biscayne restaurant with a woman described as an IRS "informant." Reviewing the purloined documents, IRS investigators found that the 308 Castle Bank customers on the list had moved $250 million to foreign numbered accounts. Depositors' included Playboy publisher Hugh Hefner, Penthouse magazine publisher Robert Guccione, and some major organized crime figures Morris Morris Dalitz, Morris Kleinman, and Samuel A. Tucker. Elated by the, find, investigators formed Project Haven to make "the single biggest tax-evasion strike in IRS history." Suddenly, the IRS announced that it was dropping the investigation because of "legal problems." According to a later investigation by the Wall Street Journal, "pressure from the 'Central Intelligence Agency … caused the Justice Department to drop - what could have been the biggest tax evasion case of all time." The CIA invoked "national security" since it was using the Castle Bank "for the funding of clandestine operations against Cuba and for other covert intelligence operations directed at countries in Latin America and the Far East."
Helliwell was reported to have played a key role in the purchase of the site for Disney World.
Walt Disney had selected the location during a flight over central Florida, and a thorough investigation of the land was needed before it could be officially chosen. Before sending an analyst to Florida, their New York counsel, law firm Donovan, Leisure, Newton & Irvene, got involved. The head of DLN&I provided Disney's analyst with a phone number, stationary, and business card with a fake name, all tying him to another firm, Burke & Burke, located one floor below their offices at One Wall Street. In secrecy, the analysis was completed and the site was chosen. DLN&I then created a company in Delaware, the Compass East Corp. Another law firm, this time from Miami—Helliwell, Melrose & DeWolf—created five more: Bay Lake Properties, Ayefour Corp., Ready Creek Ranch, Tomahawk Properties, and Latin American Development and Management Corp. All six were shell corporations. Through the five Florida companies, HM&D began to purchase all the desired land for an average of $200 per acre, all without alerting anyone to Disney's plans. In 1966, all five companies and their holdings were merged under Compass East. Through these firms, Disney had acquired more land than they had ever anticipated. Florida surveyors were contacted and hired to survey the property, and told to bill Helliwell, Melrose & DeWolf.
HM&D was founded and run by Paul Helliwell.

Would you ever consider going through the Un-sets and posting an unofficial (actual, not just the pun) of cards you believe are silver border solely due to set rather than rules or play concerns? As someone who has used your blog multiple times as a source for rule 0 discussions I assume others might also use you as an informal authority on "intended game design"
This is a project I'd love to do if I can find the time. Note, so is rewriting my FAQ, so that might give you an hint of how busy I am. I can say that the die-rolling works in the rules and would (almost) all be eternal legal if such a list was made.
