Life in Corpus Christi is nice and cozy. Great weather, beaches, parks, among many other things. Now, when that comfort is disrupted by water damage in your home, we completely understand how worried and stressed you can feel. This is why, in this post, we’ll explain what you can expect in terms of water damage restoration timelines. What things need to be done during the restoration project and how long does each of those things take to complete.
In a Hurry? Here are Quick Points to Take Away:
Typical drying time is 3-7 days
Repairs usually take 1-2 weeks
Expect at least 2 weeks for the entire project to be completed
Water damage restoration timelines are split into drying time and the following repairs/reconstruction. Then, the timelines for each of the two parts are determined by their complexity and materials involved.
Need more clarification? Keep on reading!

How Long to Dry Out Water Damage
How long it takes to dry out water damage depends on materials affected, severity of the damage, and drying methods.
Severity of the Damage
Let’s start with the damage severity. What determines the severity of your water damage situation? Multiple things:
What category is your water damage?
How long has the damage been standing for?
How high is the humidity in the area?
We’ll explain each of these one by one. Water damage can be split into 3 categories – clean, gray, and black water. If you’d assumed that clean water would be the fastest to dry and black the slowest, you’d be correct. The more contaminated and dirty the water, the longer the drying process because we also have to make sure that the area is disinfected properly.
Then, if the damage has been standing for some time, the materials will have soaked up more of it, leading to longer drying time.
And the humidity levels of the surrounding areas and also the weather conditions will also impact drying time.
Wet Materials
Different materials are affected by water in different ways. For example, carpets are some of the fastest to dry, taking only a day or two in most cases. Drywall drying also takes only a couple of days.
However, materials like masonry and hardwood flooring can take up to several weeks, depending on the severity of the damage, a factor we’ve just covered.
We also have to take into account the property itself. Some older buildings and materials may fail if we dry too aggressively, leading to a slower drying process to preserve the property successfully.
Drying Methods and Efficiency
Obviously, the knowledge and skills of your drying technicians will have a say in how long it takes to dry out water damage in your Corpus Christi, TX home.
Equipment will also play a role. The more powerful the equipment, the faster the drying time. Keep in mind that the most powerful equipment will also be really loud and cause unbearable heat, disrupting your daily functioning in the property. You’ll have to see if you’re okay with this or not.
As you can see, there are many things to consider when trying to answer the question “how long it takes to dry out water damage”, so make sure that your restoration specialists are on-top with their communication and that your situation is clearly explained.
To learn more about how drying works, check psychrometrics.
How Long to Repair and Reconstruct
The answer to this question will almost always depend on how long the drying process took. If drying was a breeze, then that means that there’d not been a lot of water (and the water likely hadn’t been contaminated), leading to not many – if any – repairs and replacements being required.
However, if there is one foot of water in your property, not only will it take much longer to dry, but the amount of materials that will have to be replaced and repaired is bigger. A general estimate is 1-2 weeks but it can take much longer than that at times.
For example, in case of severe floods, water damage repairs can take from several months up to a year!
Conclusion
So, to wrap it up, your restoration project will probably take around 2 weeks. Again, as always, it will depend on the scenario but we can confidently say that a 2 week timeline will cover most of your cases.
Now, if you’re ready to get started with water damage restoration, call Sparkling City Water Damage Restoration today!

DIY ACRYLIC KENYCHAINS
This project is great for your Cricut! This project is perfect for beginners. The craft takes only 20-30 minutes and is very easy. These keychains are also customizable. My three favorite words are fun, easy, and cute! You can easily make acrylic keychains using your Cricut. These are great gifts and easy to make in bulk. This project is easy and fun, no matter if you're an expert or just beginning to craft.
These keychains look great paired with the cute little tassel. Personalize them with your colleagues' names and give them away during holidays. Make them with your friends.Five different designs were created. I would love to hear which design you prefer. As I did, you can make them all. It was hard to choose just one!
What is your favorite?
Let's start with keychainsofcourse. There are many options for sizes and shapes. These blanks measure 2 inches in diameter, and can be equipped with chains or tassels. You will also need permanent Vinyl and transfer tape. Acrylic paint will be used to decorate some of my designs. This is an optional step. Modpodge will also be used to protect and seal my designs. This is an option. We will need a Cricut cutting tool, mat, and a weeding-and-scraper tool to attach the keychain or tassel. If you plan to paint your keychain, you will need a butcherpaper and a foambrush to protect your work surface.
This is a list with all the supplies needed to Acrylic custom keychains. This post contains affiliate links. Clicking a link will earn me a small commission but not more. Please see my complete disclosure policy.
INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: GET MY FREE DIY ACRYLIC KENNYCHAIN FILES
Download my Acrylic Keychain Designs in my Free Resource Library. It's design #[333].
TIP: This video series will show you how to upload a SVG to Cricut Design Space. This is how to download SVG files to Cricut Design Space using an iPhone/iPad.
This is how my Acrylic Keychains SVG looked after it was uploaded to Cricut Design Space.
STEP 2: PREPARE YOUR SVG DESIGNS
There are four options available, and I'll show you how to make your personal monogram keychain.
HOW TO MAKE PERSONALIZED MONOGRAPH ACRYLIC KEYCHAIN DESIRED
I used the fonts Times & Breethy. To choose your font, click on the Text icon. I will create one using my initial first and the Times font.
TIP Need help installing a font in Cricut Design Space? You can find my blog post and this video that will walk you through the process step-by-step.
You can enter your initials into the text box and then drag it away.
Next, enter the script name. Next, click the text icon and choose your font. Finally, type your name in the text box. For the name, I used the font Breethy.
Once you have filled in your name, click the button to close the editor mode. To make the item visible, click once more on the selected item. You can also select it from the layers panel. Use the resize handle to resize your script.
Once you are happy with the size, select both the script or monogram names.
TIP Drag both layers to select them. Or click on one panel and hold down shift to select the other.
After you have selected both, click Align and then Center.
Click on a blank area in your canvas to deselect both layers. Now, we will create an offset for your script name. Select the only script name in the layers panel, or from the canvas. Next, click on Offset and change the setting to 0.1 to 0.01. Click Apply.
Hide the script name text only on your canvas. Clicking it in the layers panel will ensure that you select only one layer.
Now we will slice the offset layer as well as the monogram layer. Click on the text layer and then on the monogram layer, and click on slice.
After clicking slice, you will see layers added to the layers panel. It is a good idea to click and drag the sections you don't need. We won't accidentally delete any sections we don't use. The only layer that we need after slicing is the split monogram letters.
TIP If you make an error and accidentally delete something, click the "Undo” arrow at the top. It is the left-pointing, curved arrow in the upper left corner.
You can now unhide the script layer's text layer. If you haven’t moved your monogram letters, the text layer will be perfectly aligned in the offset area. Align them by clicking on both the monogram and script names, and then clicking Align.
Now you can change the color scheme in your design. You can modify the color scheme by selecting the layer you want to change and then choosing a color from our colour menu.
NOTE Both layers can be used to create a monogram design with the same colours. To keep them all together, click Attach. Once you have selected your colors, select both layers and click Group. This will preserve your design, but each layer will retain its color.
REZIGN YOUR DESIGNS
My Acrylic custom keychains designs are available for keychains up to 2 inches in diameter. Create a template circle to change the size of your keychains. To create a template, click on Shapes. Measure your blank design and adjust the dimensions in Cricut Design Space to match it.
Your shape will be the layer that you add to your layers panel. This will cover all of your designs. To ensure that they are properly sized, we need to see them. Click on the desired shape and click on Arrange. Then, send it to back.
My circle was made white to make it easier for you to see my designs. Drag any design you like onto the circle to see how it will look on your keychain. My monogram design was too big so I will choose it and adjust the size knob to fit the circle. My monogram was 1.5 inches wide by 1.5 inches tall.
IMPORTANT Remember to include the cutout in the top corner when you resize your keychain.
Once you have everything properly sized to fit your blank keychain materials, you can hide or delete the template and other designs. In the upper right corner, click Make it.
STEP 3: CUT YOUR VINYL DESIGNS
The question will ask you if you are using a Cricut Maker 3 Explore 3, Joy, or a Cricut Maker 3. A mat is not required for Smart Materials. Smart Materials cannot be used in this project so I will select "On Mat" and click "Done."
These designs will be used to decorate acrylic keychains. Mirror each design. For all mats, turn on your mirrors. After you're done, click the first mat once more and click Continue.
Now we need to select our materials. I'm using Premium Vinyl - Permanent Glossy. Select the one you like and adjust your pressure to "More". This will guarantee a clean cut.
TIP To find this vinyl option, click Browse All Materials.
TIP If your Cricut Maker 3 Explore 3 is making all of your mats from the same material, click "Remember Material Setting" to save time. This box is unchecked so you can change your settings for different materials.
Place your material on a mat to load your Cricut. After your Cricut has been loaded, place your material on a green mat.
TIP You can cut multiple colors on one mat to save time. The video and my blog posts are available here. These are the 25 best Cricut tips and tricks. It's tip #24.
After your first mat is removed, press the button to unload it. Gently pull the mat off your vinyl by turning it over.
Continue to load the vinyl onto your next mat.
STEP 4: WEED AND APPLY VINYL DESIGNS
To gently remove excess vinyl from your design, use your weeding tool.
Once your designs are weeded, it's time to apply your transfer tape. Cut a small amount of transfer tape to match your cut design. Place the backing of the transfer tape on top of vinyl. Use a small scraper to burnish the transfer tape.
You can remove the vinyl backing. You can burnish areas that vinyl isn't adhering to the transfer tape, and then try again.
The acrylic keychain will have your design. You can attach your vinyl to your keychain using your scraper.
Peel away your transfer tape. Remove any transfer tape that has lifted.
LAYERING VINYL DESIGNS Use transfer tape to cover the topmost layer. The backing can be removed and the vinyl burnished. Apply your top layer of transfer tape to the surface.
Burnish the second layer of vinyl to the transfer tape. You can then remove the vinyl backing. Continue this process with all vinyl layers.
Rub the vinyl onto the transfer tape to ensure it sticks well to your keychain. The vinyl should be gently removed from the transfer tape.
OPTIONAL To give the flower design some color, I added an acrylic layer. Because the vinyl is on the back of my keychain, I used a foambrush for thin paint application. Mod Podge Gloss was used to seal the back. The glue will dry in 1-2 hours.
NOTICE Vinyl-only designs do not need to be sealed for as long as permanent vinyl was used.
STEP 5: ASSEMBLE YOUR KEYCHAINS
Make sure your Mod Podge or paint is completely dry before you start the next step.
Select your chain, clasp or tassel in the kit. Next, attach the ring clasp to the chain by looping it. Attach the ring clasp to your acrylic hole. Use your pliers to attach the chain to the clasp.

Lastly, since it is Electron-based, it can be run just as smoothly on all major OSs out there, namely Windows, macOS and Linux. Glyphr studio finalizing software#
It should also be pointed out that you can easily import SVG Fonts or outlines from other vector editing piece of software and also export your projects as SVG and OTF fonts. Besides this, it also offers the possibility to fully control the spacing between the letters. More experienced users might be quite happy to find out that Glyphr Studio makes it possible for anyone to combine two or more sequences of letters in order to create super-characters. Also worth mentioning is the fact that you can quickly try out your fonts within the app thanks to a useful 'Test Drive' live preview. The utility provides you with a set of useful editing tools such as the pen and pointer and all the features you need to define new shapes and create font components from scratch. Packs a broad range of design and font customization tools The main window is split into two main sections: the left side is the place from where you can access most of the app's specialized tools while the right side is almost exclusively dedicated to the very straightforward font editor. The application looks and feels modern, with a reactive interface and with easily accessible and well-organized menus. Upon first starting the app, you are offered the options to start a new project, to load an already existing one or to get a head start by tweaking some of the provided examples.Įven if you have not worked with apps of this sort, you will most probably find this to be a very intuitive app. This said, getting started with this app is quite straightforward, with you only having to unzip the package and launching it via its executable file. User-friendly environment for designing fonts If you would like to see a donation link for the application here, please include one in the AppStream data. You can specify the URL to a nicer one by shipping an AppStream metainfo file. Glyphr Studio is a modern-looking and smooth-running piece of software that started out in life as a web app but can now be run directly from the comforts of your computer's desktop thanks to the technologies behind the Electron framework. The screenshot for GlyphrStudioDesktop has been automatically taken during a fully automated test. If you are a typography enthusiast or even a marketing specialist, then you surely understand that sometimes fonts are just as important as the message itself and, consequently, having the right tools for creating them is a vital part of the creative process. Although we rarely think about their importance and, more often than not, we take them for granted, fonts have a massive impact on the way we perceive certain designs or on how our attention is captured.

Home Icons: A Vast Collection of Home Icons
For many years, the outline of a house has served as a symbol for the concept of “Home.” Many various colors and outlining styles are available for Home Icons . Someone who does not understand what this symbol represents is quite unusual thus when using this sort of home icon, it is essential that it blends in with the general style of your website.
You may do this by altering the color, size object or outline style of the object; a website devoted to children’s items may employ an outline that seems to have been made with a crayon to represent the product. A premium spa, on the other hand, would use a much more streamlined shape with straight lines to express itself.
Tumblr media
Hamburger Icon
The hamburger emblem may serve as a navigational tool. When this button is pressed, a more extensive menu appears. Typically, the hamburger symbol will be situated in the upper right-hand corner of the page, and the home link will be the first link in the navigation bar inside that menu.
The hamburger menu is comprised of just three lines, which effectively represent a bottom bun, hamburger patty, and top bun, respectively. The surge in the number of Internet users accessing websites via their mobile devices has resulted in this being an instantly identifiable symbol that doesn’t take up a lot of space while still indicating that you can access navigation.
A Text-Only Icon
Sometimes the most effective symbol is none at all. Text inside the menu that just mentions “Home” might be effective in conveying the information. There is another benefit of using text to show where the home link can be found: the website will load much more quickly than if the user has to wait for graphics to load.
CJ Pony Parts, for example, is an example of how style can be applied to a product design. Take note of how the “home icons” text is located in the top left-hand corner of the page. Furthermore, it is highlighted in red, making it immediately distinguishable. This is a simple, yet very effective design.
A Home-Shaped Icon with Text
By clearly labeling an free svg icon , you can eliminate any confusion about what it is used for. This is a strategy that you’ll see used on several websites. It makes it very apparent what the symbol is for in the first place. If you wanted to include the shape of a home and the words “Home” directly underneath it, you could do so.
In fact, adding text to icons improves the usability of the website significantly. While many websites add text beneath or next to a home-shaped symbol, you could also go a little farther and place the text on the icon itself.
Exceptional Home Icons & Graphics
The use of an icon that is closely related to your logo and general design is yet another possibility. This does not necessarily have to be in the form of a home or include lettering, though. Your site visitors should be able to at least assume that this is your home button if you set the symbol in the proper area (upper right or left) on your website.
Additionally, some websites utilize their logo as a type of “home” button. Amazon.com, for example, is one example of this. They utilize the Amazon brand as an anchor to draw people in. When you click on the logo, you will be sent to the main page.
One rule of thumb is that consumers should figure out what a symbol represents in five seconds or less. Perform some A/B split testing, and if your site visitors are having difficulty interpreting the all free SVG icons , you may need to make some adjustments to better meet the demands of your target audience.
