I learned a lot of cool new animation techniques from making the 2020 Body Pop video that I was excited to build off of and refine in this follow-up video. Fresh off of watching The American Epic docu-series about the early 20th century record industry, I was inspired by how music was able to bridge the American urban-rural divide and create a sense of shared culture and national unity. I wanted to incorporate some of that history into this video's narrative and draw from the imagery of early 20th century technology and Americana. I also created a color scheme that served to compliment the video's narrative. One of the original ideas that was pitched for the video was two groups of people with different color schemes coming together and blending colors. I liked that idea a lot and applied that concept to the urban and rural divide. The city starts off as muted cool tones, while the countryside is vibrant warm tones. Once music is introduced to the city, the vibrant warm colors of the countryside are brought into the city. I'm still really proud of this music video, and I'm excited to share it with y'all once again.
