Like with any media I get into, an AU is sure to follow, so here’s something @sleepysquib and I have been cooking up!

We wanted Haibara to live, that was it :D

Here’s a “brief” summary of his whole deal:

During August 2007, his second year at Tokyo Jujutsu High School, he went on a mission with fellow second year Nanami Kento. The mission’s level turned out to be higher than expected. Haibara received critical wounds, but was able to escape with Nanami with their lives. He was healed by Shoko’s reverse curse healing technique.

After his brush with death, he realized that he needed to be taking this more seriously. That, combined with Geto’s betrayal, led him to becoming less naive. However, he didn’t want to lose his positivity, so he focused on increasing his abilities through his emotions, eventually becoming promoted to Grade 1.

After graduation, Nanami still ran from the life of a jujutsu sorcerer, while Haibara stayed in that world. He saw his role as something akin to a superhero, and took it in stride, calling himself “Cupid” and being very public about his status. He quickly became popular and gained a fanbase, taking pictures and signing autographs for them when he has time.

Being received well by the media and being good on camera, Haibara became somewhat of a PR boy for the jujutsu sorcerers. He could make a bad situation sound less terrible through his natural charm.

Nanami and Haibara remained best friends during the time that Nanami was working as a salaryman. Eventually, Nanami learned the bakery lesson and realized his place was as a sorcerer. He returned to that life and was quickly paired with Haibara for many missions.

Haibara knows that the world isn’t the happy place he wishes, but he tries to be the change he wants to see and spreads positivity. He also does this in hopes of lessening the amount of cursed spirits created by the negative emotions of humans.

As a result of always expressing positivity, his negative emotions are naturally bottled up. He does this on purpose, stockpiling his negative emotions so he can release and harness their power if a battle becomes that dire. His last resort is to unleash his negative emotions, which increases his power greatly for a brief period of time. After this burst of power, he is left exhausted and drained and will need to recover. He is aware that he is being “toxically positive” but does so to increase his power with negativity later.

He doesn’t express joy all the time and doesn’t force himself to express it every moment of the day, but he will always express positivity in public and during battles to keep up morale and his image (although he doesn’t care about image in a narcissistic way).

He is liked by most people and others vent and confide in him. The personal sharing of their negative emotions adds to that stockpile that he can use if necessary.

Haibara tries to not express his own negative emotions to others because it will decrease that stockpile inside and he knows he needs to save that for dangerous battles. He knows it’s not healthy but he does it for the good of Japan, seeing himself as a superhero.

Much like a cursed spirit, his greater power increases when those around him have expressed negative emotions, but he doesn’t like to acknowledge the fact that he has something in common with cursed spirits.

Lives by the mottos of “With great power comes great responsibility” and “greet the world with open arms”

Y’all I’m sorry this has been in my files for like 2 months now I completely forgot about it but finally went back and finished it !!

Finally remembered because I noticed my Steven Universe content is getting attention again

Anyways I call it the Crystal Shift au! ❤️🩷🩵💜

It’s an idea I had a few years back kinda like the iconic Momswap aus

The idea is that it shifts the gems Rose and Pearl ended up with, (hence the name) so rather then Garnet and Amethyst events change and they end with Bismuth and Spinel! (I also had a version with Jasper instead of Bismuth that’d be fun to explore too)

Choices for the Steven Fashionverse comic...

(if you have better AU name suggestions PLEASE tell them to me, my friend told me Steven Fashionverse as a joke and I kind of loved it 😭)

First up is Lapis Lazuli and Peridot's escape from Homeworld!

This storyline will detail the events of the war from all sides. Lapis and Peridot are runaways and refuse to be associated with either side, but fate has other plans when they meet Rose Quartz on the planet YD:ACXG (Yellow Diamond: ACXG) . Do they risk their lives and join the rebellion to fight for a planet they've never even seen? Or do they fade into the background of the war, keeping their gems safe in the meantime?

Next up is Rose Quartz's Revolution.

This storyline will follow the perspective of Rose Quartz and how she balanced being a diamond and fighting against herself in a war. Pink Diamond was always the least respected diamond out of the four. Even if no one said it, everyone knew it. That's why when she was finally given her own planet, gems expected her to be excited to start her colonizing journey, but she was quite the opposite after seeing what she was doing to Earth. She decided to take a stand as Rose Quartz and fight for Earth! But how exactly was she going to keep up appearances with the Diamonds while also inspiring her gems to fight for themselves?

Last is You're Not the Only One.

This storyline will follow the Crystal Gems' vacation!! After a mysterious email landed in Steven's inbox, the gems travel to Bangkok, Thailand to find the mysterious sender. But run-ins with the law and curious citizens make it difficult to find this certain someone. Who is this person, and how did they know about Steven and Little Homeworld?

These are all ideas I am willing to explore, and I might even do the others if enough people like this au and want to see more!

I wanted to give crystal gem spinel a shot in my style and this is what I came up with. I love her so goddamned much

this is a spinel who was never abandoned by pink and remained her ever-loyal follower... I think at the beginning of the rebellion she'd just be following pink/rose's orders and it would take her a while to really understand why they were fighting, but once she understood the concepts of oppression and liberation she'd be a fearsome crystal gem in her own right. also if she managed to remain uncorrupted she and amethyst would've been BEST fuckin friends

Does Spinel “pull a Bismuth”, because she’s afraid to Steven might “Abandon” her for Connie in the future.

Also because also the fact that it’s after pearl told everyone that Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond, (Spinel’s best friend who left her for 625 years). Causing Spinel to question her and Rose’s/Pink’s time together as “Friends”.

YOU. YOU GET IT.

So it's been years, but if I remember correctly, what I meant by "pull a Bismuth" was that Spinel attacked Steven for a VERY similar reason Bismuth did. It's less that she believed that Steven was Pink Diamond, and more that the gemstone won't ever change. Iirc.

She poofed from heartbreak when she discovered that Rose and Pink were the same person.

See, part of her history is that Pink Diamond got her from the garden and brought her to Earth, which Spins was excited about. Rose realized that just convincing Spinel to join the Crystal Gems wasn't going to work, because she was literally MADE to be Pink's friend and would stick by her no matter what, so they devised a plan; Pink Diamond would become just as horrible and nasty as the CG propaganda made her out to be, while Rose Quartz then swoops in to save Spins.

This culminates in a meeting. Pink spends years ignoring Spinel no matter what, and eventually just banishes the gem from her court in front of everyone. Spinel runs into the trees, heartbroken, and poofs. Pearl finds her gem and brings her back to the Crystal Gems, where she decides to join them. Rose shows her unending kindness and support (though she was still kinda uncomfortable around the gem, now Spinel had WAY more friends, and so that made her easier to tolerate to Rose), and Spinel found a home there.

...So when she discovered that they were the same person, she had a crisis. Anger, rage, jealousy, betrayal, hurt, ALL of it built upon itself until she once again poofed from heartbreak. And when Steven and Pearl came back with Sapphire, she'd reformed into an appearance similar to canon Spinel's movie form.

She attacks Steven because she has it in her head that Steven isn't who he says he is, either. Maybe he's not Pink, but also maybe he is! Who knows! Since she's so good at PRETENDING anyway!

It takes Pearl explaining that Rose just wanted to help her, despite not really wanting to be her friend anymore, that pulls Spinel back down. She was still lied to, and she is allowed to be angry about that, but Rose didn't do it just to fuck with Spins' head or anything. Rose genuinely wanted Spinel to be in the Crystal Gems, and once she was, she found a good home. That's all Rose wanted.

In Future, Spinel still has a LOT of mixed feelings about her. She's come to realize she can still appreciate the good memories, but those bad memories are valid as well, and it's a good thing they aren't friends anymore, no matter the method. Their personalities didn't mix well, and that's okay. At least they were kind to each other. Spinel can appreciate that, even if she wished Rose would have just talked to her instead. But hey, that's just who Rose was. She kept secrets.

Part of my goal with ASC was to keep in line with Pink/Rose doing things she felt was right, but was just the wrong way to go about it. Doing the wrong thing for the right reasons. Sorta. She's a complex character, and I wanted to try and express that further in ASC. She realized she shouldn't have left Spinel in the garden and gets her, which is good! But then she lied to her several times, which was bad! It was "for her own good," sure, but who decides that? (quote, Miles Morales.)

I hope I did both Rose and Spinel justice in my portrayal of them. That was always a point of anxiety for me, especially people were SO quick to villainize Rose no matter what she did. She wasn't a villain, but she wasn't a perfect saint, either. She was, well. Human. Ironically enough.

OH OH BEFORE I FORGET. YES. Spinel acted that way towards Connie because she was afraid of Connie taking Steven from her, just like Greg took away Rose and the Diamonds took away the Crystal Gems. She's tired of loosing friends, and Rose's passing caused her to WAY overcorrect and hold them WAY too close. This is why, despite having rocky relationships with the other CGs in Season 1, she still clings to them. There's good memories. She cannot let them go.

Here’s my CG!Spinel au :D

She was still told to stand in the garden as in canon, and did so for 1000 years. But when Pink Diamond was “shattered”, it was broadcast across all communicator. Including the garden. Spinel left her spot and just.. fell. She grieved her best friend but also resented all the time she wasted, waiting. Like in canon, she pooped and reformed in her more dark form. She warped to Earth and met Rose. Rose could hardly recognize her, but knew it was her. She obviously pretended not to though. She makes Spinel realize Pink was probably never planning on returnin, and promises she won’t leave Spin behind like that (obviously it takes a lot of talking though but she somehow does). Spinel joins the Crystal Gems and fights in the war, becoming a formidable opponent on the battlefield after some experience. She’s with Rose when the blast is sent to Earth, so she is saved by the shield. She’s the one that finds Amy in the kindergarten while looking for corrupted gems. She’s pretty close with Amethyst. Canon basically goes the same with Rose meeting Greg, getting prego, yk. Spinel is very upset by this. She argues with Rose, saying she promised not to leave like Pink did. But Rose frames it as Spinel getting a brand new best friend, and even though Spinel still hates it, she reluctantly accepts it. Steven is born and she tries her best to play with him, but she misses Rose. And Steven, being a baby, can’t really play, which frustrates Spinel. But as Steven grows up, she makes sure to be his best friend. Okay that’s it’s for pre-canon stuff. I’m still figuring things out and if anyone has ideas my ears r open :3 (ALSO ASKS ARE OPEN ASK ANYTHING (NOT WEIRD STUFF))

Been absolutely obsessed with this fusion design ever since I first saw it, and with @saiscribbles new comic that dropped the other day I just had to make this little video!

The score is original music I composed way back when I first saw the Wulfenite design a few months ago. Since Sai's style (in this comic) stays pretty true to the show while still being its own thing, I tried to do the same musically :3
