Audi backing out of F1?
Mark Hughes, providing a little background in MotorSport Magazine, August 2023:
Sauber, in its final season under Alfa Romeo colours, is suffering a rather lacklustre season, way less competitive than last year when it finished sixth in the constructors championship. It is of course in a period of transition, set to become the works Audi team from 2026. But Audi doesn’t own it yet. It owns a minority stake which will be progressively upped until it’s the majority shareholder for ‘26 — and that’s perhaps where the current under-performance is rooted. This isn’t really a team giving the impression of gearing up to become the big entity it’s destined to be. Rather, it’s just carrying on as before, still with only around 600 people, with no big new investments being made yet. It’s ticking over. Ideally, this would be when Audi would be making those big capital investments and recruitments, financing the big expansion ready for the Audi-badged programme to hit the ground running in ‘26. But because Finn Rausing – the Swedish Tetra Laval business billionaire who rescued the team from oblivion a few years ago – is still the owner, that’s not happening.
Radio Le Mans' Midweek Motorsport, October 2023:
Tumblr media
Ed Spencer for Total Motorsport, querying Audi in response to the above:
Sauber have denied reports that future owners Audi will pull the plug on planned takeover of the team before its scheduled entry into Formula 1 in 2026 Rumours have circulated that the Audi project might be scrapped, with speculation the company’s board would meet to decide whether to continue their F1 project at an upcoming audit meeting. A Sauber and Audi spokesperson told Total Motorsport.com that the suggestion of an Audi pullout is untrue, and preparations for 2026 are going according to plan.
Transcript of Radio le Mans snippet under the cut
Voice 1: I don't think the EU or anybody else should get involved if I'm honest and actually if Andretti just wait, they'll be able to buy Audi's entry probably at the end of the season when Audi decide to not get into it anyway. Voice 2: That's the third person, the third person today I've heard say that. Voice 1: Well I said that a long time ago, you know I did. I said that on this programme. Voice 2: Genuinely, I've had two other conversations today with exactly the same statements. So there we are, interesting. Apparently, it's not going well from what I've heard. Voice 1: No, what I heard, I'll say again, if you didn't hear it on the programme before, what I heard, they won't do it while the F1 season is under way, but it's under review and if it isn't to continue it will be announced at the cessation of hostilities at the end of the season.

«Tal vez a nuestra muerte el alma emigra:
a una hormiga,
a un árbol,
a un tigre de Bengala;
No existe. En el arte ni en nada. Todo se construye sobre lo anterior. No hay pureza en nada humano».
«1. °   Dios no existe.
2. °   Dios existe y es un canalla.
Yo no importo, ahora.

Lovecraft Mythos New & Classic Collection (Gothic Fantasy). Foreword by Ramsey Campbell, Flame Tree Publishing, 2020. Info: flametreepublishing.com.
Featuring new stories specially commissioned for the collection this offering of H.P. Lovecraft's shared universe is a thrilling immersion into the world of Old Ones and the Elder Gods, an ancient race of terrifying beings. In Lovecraft's vision we live in a deep, but fragile illusion, unable to comprehend the ancient beings, such as the Cthulhu who lies dead but dreaming in the submerged city of R'lyeh, waiting to rise then wreak havoc on our realm of existence. Lovecraft used the mythos to create a background to his fiction, and challenged many writer companions to add their own stories. Clark Ashton Smith, Robert E. Howard, Robert Bloch, Frank Belknap Long, Henry Kuttner were amongst the first but over the years many others such as Ramsey Campbell, Lin Carter and August Derleth added their voices to the many mythic cycles, developing themes and new fictional pathways for the town of Arkham, and the creatures Azathoth and Nyarlathotep. The Lovecraft Mythos is fertile ground for any writer of supernatural, horror, fantasy and science fiction, so for this edition we opened our submissions for brand new stories, many published here for the first time, to continue expanding the shared universe.

Black lives matter.
The current and recent and past events that have been occurring absolutely disgust me. Here’s what I’ve got to say:
The role of a cop has always been said to be a trustworthy source of protection. But how is this supposed to be true when the police are murdering black people? How is this supposed to be true when people of color can’t trust the police? How is this supposed to be true when many black people, including George Floyd, were murdered by cops? How is this supposed to be true when a large number of cops have, over and over again, proven that they are NOT a trustworthy source of protection?
Enough is enough, and now is the time for a change. The past few weeks have been hell, but so have the last 100 years.
I am not proud to live in a place that doesn’t treat black people right. I refuse to let it happen and let it continue. We shouldn’t just let this happen. We have to take a stand.
As for all of the protests and the riots: People are doing this because they are angry and they want to be heard. There has been a large wrongdoing, and so the people are going to clap right back with something large as well. It’s a way of showing that this is a big issue. The riots and the protests are  way of screaming in the systems face: THIS NEEDS TO STOP. The people are angry and know that enough is enough, and they need to get that message through as LOUDLY as they possibly can so that people can really listen for once. Because this injustice needs to stop.
This is the last straw. Everyone and anyone can make a difference and an end to injustice against black people if they take a stand and use their voice.Even if you think that this doesn’t affect you, it does. It doesn’t matter who you are or what race you are because nobody should be living in fear and injustice just because they don’t have the privilege of a lighter color of skin. Now is not the time to just stand by. We MUST take a stand and we MUST make change in ANY WAY THAT WE CAN.
