Is SusSEX an island inhabited by misfits?
Ashley Hansen doesn't need to start a (PR firm) Communications Agency w/meGain. What Ashley needs is intensive THERAPY (& so does Mandana).
They obviously believe the entire world (outside of lala land) is just plain STUPID!
Surely I'm not the only person who vividly remembers when Ashley (Momtaheni) Hansen QUIT brand susSEX?
Now the sussy-est team on the planet would have us to believe that Ashley is not only the current head of archeFRAUD communications, but she's transitioning into a new role as the head of her own company where susSEX is her 1st client and an INVESTOR.
I have zero sympathy for what's coming, zero. Watching James Holt rub shoulders with American VIPs as if he's a celebrity is stomach turning. archeFRAUD must be the best grift in town! Ashley is just as bad as Holt and The Meghans! What's worse is that she's promoting her company meGain's company & brand as HONEST media. 🥴🤦♀️
Ashley told US media how she likes a boss who telephones her spouse EVERY day to "check-in" while she's out for a medical leave of absence.
Ashley is also such an immature and emotionally fragile person that she required 2 girl bosses (sparry & wife) to make her FEEL seen & cared for---- as if she's just one (1) of the (invisible) susSEX children 🤢
A group of liars & bullies who dare to fraudulently market TRUTH & KINDNESS. You couldn't make any of this up.
youtube
So basically meGain has launched her own PR/Communications Company with Ashley at the helm.
"Meghan Markle’s Friend Is Launching a New Business, and the Sussexes Are the First Clients"
Ashley Hansen, the couple’s current head of communications, is starting her own firm, Three Gate Strategies, and continuing her work with Harry and Meghan.
By Erin Vanderhoof October 3, 2024
For the last four years, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been growing a US-based staff to help them establish a legacy in charity and business under their own names. Ashley Hansen, the couple’s current head of communications, has worked with the couple for over two years, helping to steer the ship through major moments like the release of the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and Harry’s blockbuster memoir, Spare. Now Hansen is branching out by starting her own communications firm called Three Gate Strategies, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be her first clients.
“We are so proud of Ashley, especially as a female entrepreneur,” the duchess told Vanity Fair in a statement on behalf of the couple. “We look forward to having her focused expertise on our business and creative projects and her continued oversight of our communications team. My husband and I are excited to be alongside Ashley as she builds something extraordinarily special with her firm.”
Though Hansen will be taking on more accounts as her company grows, she plans to continue her work with Meghan and Harry and their communications team across their Archewell Foundation, business endeavors, and media projects. Hansen will work with other high-profile clients in entertainment, tech, and finance, and will remain based in Los Angeles.
Three Gate draws its name from a proverb often attributed to Rumi, which posits that a person should let their words pass through “three gates” before speaking: “Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?”
Hansen said that Meghan helped her brainstorm a name for the company, and remembering their shared affection for the saying, the selection felt like a “lightbulb moment.” 🤦♀️🥴
Ashley & the megaLiar developed this "logo" 🤢
The Rumi reference is also an homage to Hansen’s Persian heritage, as the poet lived in 13th century Greater Iran. In 2022, Hansen was present when Meghan gave a speech bringing attention to Iran’s Women, Life, Freedom movement, wearing a shirt with its name in Farsi.
Since relocating to the US in 2020, Meghan has been investing in women-owned businesses and she considers Hansen’s new venture part of her growing portfolio, which also includes accessories brand Cesta Collective, beverage brand Clevr, and more. Since April, the duchess has also been teasing the launch of her own lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, with sneak peaks at its future wares, including gift baskets with jars of strawberry jam. In addition to her work on Archewell’s charitable endeavors, Hansen will also work with the duchess on the business and her other creative projects.
Hansen told Vanity Fair her new venture will build on the work she has already done to support the couple.
Who in their right mind would seek to duplicate the work and counsel provided to brand susSEX???
“It came about after I was approached by other clients seeking the high-quality counsel I have provided to the Sussexes,” she said. “The Duke and Duchess’s ongoing support and trust in me to execute their vision is testament to the meaningful working relationship we have built.
Hansen began working with Meghan and Harry in May 2022, following a career in communications that included roles at UTA, Annapurna Pictures, and Universal Filmed Entertainment Group.
Only a fool would admit this: "During her time with the Archewell team, she oversaw communications during a particularly historic and tumultuous time for the couple, including the 2022 death of Queen Elizabeth II and the 2023 coronation of King Charles III."

Can I get a reader who’s childhood friends with the goths and has feelings for them all those years but is afraid to confess their love because they’re afraid they won’t return their feelings because they’re not goth enough. Eventually the reader does confess on accident
Hi friend!
So, true to my nature as a writer, I forgot it was supposed to be childhood friends with all of them. I started strong on Henri, but had to kind of edit Pete and Michael’s bits just a tad.
I’m rusty getting back into this, so I implore you, please let me know how I can fix this if you aren’t satisfied!
~~~
Henrietta:
- You had first met Henrietta when you were in elementary school together
- Despite her being mean on your first initial meetings, you couldn’t seem to just leave her alone
- She was so interesting and so different than you, it made you want to be friends with her
- Even though she didn’t return the feeling, Henrietta eventually let you tag along with her and her crowd, even though you dressed “like a conformist”
- Growing up together, you couldn’t help when your platonic feelings took a left turn and you began a small crush on Henri
- Yet, she was so much different than you, still acting as Goth as she did the first day you met her
- After graduation, when she moved off to Los Angeles, and offered you an invite to come stay with her
- Pushing back your feelings, you agreed, packing a couple of bags and flying out to move in with her
- It was a quiet night for the both of you when one thing led to another, and you finally shared your feelings for her
- Prefacing your speech with the iconic “I know you might not feel the same way,” you spilled how long you had liked her and why you were so scared to do so
- She was so drab and dreary, taking pride in the way she acted and not caring about other peoples’ opinions
- You were… the complete opposite, and after you had finished babbling, you didn’t actually feel better about putting your emotions out there
- To your surprise, Henrietta just laughed at you, catching you off guard with the sound
- Apparently, she harbored the same attraction for you, but never acted on it because she had the same reasons
- After the confession, and the awkward “So… Do you wanna be my girlfriend now 🥺👉🏻👈🏻”, you finally felt the years of terror and anxiety leave your body as she snuggled into your side, carrying about the evening as usual
Pete:
- You had actually liked Pete for as long as you could remember, seeing as he was one of the only Goth kids who wasn’t a complete asshole to you upon meeting
- You had known him since childhood, but the crush you had developed on him was tearing you apart, feeling as if you had harbored the love for centuries
- You were complaining about it to your sibling, how you felt about him, but didn’t feel like you were Goth enough for him, and overall just spilling your feelings as a way of therapy
- Uh oh
- You had accidentally confessed your feelings to Pete, not realizing you hadn’t switched back to you and your sibling’s chat after he had texted you asking to hang out
- Before you could delete the message, of course Pete went and opened it, and you died a little inside when you saw him start to text back
- His text bubbles stopped abruptly, and you were left on read, your heart shattering over your stupid mistake
- Turning your phone off, you tossed it to the side, turning your face into your pillow and screaming out the bubbling negativity in your body
- And just as you finished, you jumped when you heard three sharp knocks at your bedroom door
- Figuring it was your mom or dad telling you to quieten down, you pulled yourself from your bed, trudging to the door
- What you didn’t expect was Pete standing before you, slightly out of breath and looking at you with a strange look in his eye
- “Did you mean that?”
- After hesitantly confirming that yes, you did feel that way, Pete seemed to relax, pushing past you into your bedroom to take a seat at your desk
- Turns out, Pete has liked you forever. He just didn’t expect you to return the feelings because of his… Everything
- After talking about it some more, you both decided to see where it would go, and ended up happily together
Michael:
- What it was that drew you to Michael is a complete mystery to you and everyone around you who knew about your crush
- You had never spoken to him before, even though you had known of him since elementary school, and more often than not, you kept your head down when walking past him in the hallways
- You definitely admired him from afar, annoying your friends with your pity party over not being Goth, or else you’d try to make a move on him
- One day, having woken up late for school, you decided that it was a good day to skip, and that’s exactly what you needed
- It would give you a break from seeing your crush, and also let you sleep in and finish your homework that you fell asleep in the middle of last night
- But first, a cup of coffee sounded glorious
- You grabbed your keys and threw on your coat, descending the stairs to your home and waving at your older brother as you left
- The drive to SharSnucks was short, and you parked and went inside quickly, falling in line with the other patrons of the shop
- “I didn’t peg you as the type to skip a class”
- Turning your head, your stomach felt like it was filled with lead as you saw Michael, smirking down at you while awaiting your answer
- Shyly, you just shrugged, putting a smile on your face, giving some random excuse as to why you weren’t in school
- Finally, it was your turn to order, and you got your usual combo of a medium vanilla latte and a banana nut muffin
- Before you could pass your cash to the woman behind the register, Michael pushed you to the side, causing you to look at him in confusion
- “Add a large black coffee to that,” Michael said, pushing your hand away from the cashier as he handed him his card to pay for your, and his, orders
- Upon asking why he had decided to buy your stuff, he shrugged, pointing out he knew about you staring and gawking at him, causing him to chuckle as your face turned bright red
Is that HENRY CAVILL? No, that’s ELIAS HAWKINS. The 37 year old WIND MOON - WEREWOLF OMEGA MALE is a SOFTWARE ENGINEER & SEARCH PARTY. If you ask their friends, they’re known to be GENTLE & EDUCATED, but beware, they’re also known to be PERFECTIONIST & WORKAHOLIC. Their friends also say that they’re into BODY WORSHIP, COLLARS & NIPPLE PLAY but don’t you dare trying GORE & SCAT with them.
Elias was only a newborn pup when his pack was found and slaughtered by a large group of hunters. The family of hunters that found the wolves outnumbered and isolated, in a preserve of their own making in the woods in the hidden lands of the New Forest (Hampshire, England) found the newborn in his crib, crying at the loss of warmth and protection, defenseless - innocent. They took the baby boy with them, but not to raise him as one of their own, they raised him to be their eyes, ears and nose when human senses were powerless. He was given no name, he was not part of their family - he was a tool they raised into thinking he would never be more than that.
He was nothing more than a dog to them, they treated him like one and he grew up thinking he was one as well. Different than ordinary dogs, but not better in the slightest. The hunters worked with others, hunters from all around the world, so he picked up bits and pieces of languages over the years. He never was taught proper speech, only enough to understand basic commands. Little did they know the wolf boy was a lot smarter than they all expected - himself included.
They left the UK after taking in the little wolf pup, traveled all across the world, but stayed in Germany for a few years while trying to rot out a pack spread across several states. Germany is where the hunters were caught by the police and arrested and that's when he was found, in a dog bed with a collar and leash tying him to the wall. They were shocked to see a boy of ten or eleven years held like a dog. He was taken to the youth welfare services and ended up in the system for difficult to place kids. Adoption came with a price, therapy and responsibility to re-socialize him - his temporary name was Lukas.
Newspapers spoke about a wolf boy and an American family currently in town for business saw an interview on television. Their reputation was good, they were wealthy and pledged to pay for the extensive care the wolf boy would need to find his way back into life. They stayed for a few months, but eventually returned home to the United States after paperwork on all ends was done.
The boy was named Elias Matthew Benjamin Hawkins.
The Hawkins owned an area by Toluca Lake - in the sunny Los Angeles. They already had a thirteen year old daughter when they invited Elias into their home. Mona Maria was hesitant at first, unwilling to share her parents with a strange boy, but she soon became protective of him, like the big sister he never had. The first year wasn't easy on anybody, but the Hawkins' were loving and gentle with the boy, they spent a little fortune on his therapy, his education (he'd never been to school before) and everything else he could have wished for and once he arrived mentally in the human world he lived in, he worked hard, grateful for this life they offered.
It didn't take very long for them to find out about Elias' little secret. He'd never learned control, he'd never even known what he was or why he reacted differently to the full moon - or why he could hear, see and smell things others didn’t. Rejection had been the expectation, but they didn't. They worked with him on it, they gave him a chance and were rewarded for it with loyalty, obedience and unconditional love.
A few years later, they had another daughter, Sarah-Jane to complete the perfect family plan they’d always had. An adoptive child surely hadn’t been part of their plans, but they didn’t regret it, once.
Struggling to make friends in school due to trust issues, Elias found his passion in computers, though he was never one to shy away from other people. Hard work paid off and Elias went to college after graduating (only a year later than ordinary teenagers would) from high school. His parents, of course, had no qualms about him striving to come far in life - build something of his own. He did.
Elias got a job in a big firm right after college, living the dream - really. But when the fight between humans and supernaturals escalated, his family urged him to leave and build a life for himself in New Haven, if he could find it. He did. Elias gave up everything, his home, his work, his family - but if that meant they were safe, the sacrifice would be worth it.
In New Haven
Elias came to New Haven with money to build something for himself, so he founded a little web design company to supply the town’s inhabitants with online presence for their businesses. With the time travelers arriving in town and the council forming search parties, Elias has signed up to help. He set up an HQ with a tracking system for him and others to use to find travelers spread across the globe. Most of them work in pairs, one in town - the other outside. Elias’ partner is none other than Trenton Coliar.
A Comprehensive Guide to Skilled Nursing Facilities in Los Angeles
When it comes to choosing the right care facility for yourself or a loved one, a skilled nursing facility (SNF) offers specialized, high-quality medical and rehabilitative care. Los Angeles, with its diverse population and healthcare options, is home to numerous Skilled Nursing Facility Los Angeles that cater to a wide range of medical needs. This article delves into what skilled nursing facilities are, what services they provide, and key factors to consider when choosing a skilled nursing facility in Los Angeles.
What is a Skilled Nursing Facility?
A skilled nursing facility (SNF) is a licensed healthcare facility that provides comprehensive medical and rehabilitative services for individuals who require ongoing medical care. Unlike assisted living or independent living facilities, SNFs have trained medical staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and physical therapists, on-site to provide 24-hour care. These facilities cater to those recovering from surgery, dealing with chronic illnesses, or in need of intensive rehabilitative therapies.
Services Offered at Skilled Nursing Facilities in Los Angeles
24/7 Medical Care Skilled nursing facilities provide round-the-clock medical attention by trained healthcare professionals, ensuring that residents receive the necessary support and monitoring. This is particularly beneficial for patients with complex medical needs, such as diabetes, heart disease, or mobility limitations.
Rehabilitation Services Many SNFs in Los Angeles offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy to help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. These rehabilitative therapies are often part of a personalized care plan that addresses each individual’s unique needs.
Specialized Memory Care Some skilled nursing facilities in Los Angeles offer memory care units designed for individuals with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. These units feature trained staff and specialized programs that provide a safe and engaging environment.
Post-Surgical Care Skilled nursing facilities are a suitable option for those recovering from surgery who require ongoing medical attention, pain management, and rehabilitative services.
Social and Recreational Activities Many skilled nursing facilities offer a range of social and recreational programs, from arts and crafts to group outings, that promote mental wellness and encourage social interaction among residents.
Nutritional Support Nutrition plays a critical role in recovery and overall wellness. Skilled nursing facilities often have dietitians who create meal plans tailored to individual dietary needs and health conditions.
Kei-Ai Los Angeles Healthcare Center With a focus on both short-term and long-term care, Kei-Ai offers a range of rehabilitative services, as well as specialized programs for seniors with chronic illnesses.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Skilled Nursing Facility in Los Angeles
Location and Accessibility Proximity to family and friends is essential, especially for long-term care. Los Angeles offers many options in various neighborhoods, so you can find one that’s convenient for regular visits.
Facility Accreditation and Licensing Make sure that the SNF is licensed by the state of California and accredited by organizations such as the Joint Commission. This ensures that the facility meets stringent healthcare standards.
Staff Qualifications and Resident-to-Staff Ratio Skilled nursing requires a well-trained and attentive staff. Facilities with a high staff-to-resident ratio often provide more personalized care, which can be a critical factor for those needing close monitoring.
Quality Ratings and Reviews Medicare provides ratings for skilled nursing facilities, which can be a valuable resource when evaluating options in Los Angeles. Online reviews can also provide insights into the facility's environment and quality of care.
Costs and Insurance Skilled nursing care can be costly, so it’s essential to understand what is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or private insurance. Some facilities may offer payment plans or accept a range of insurance types.
Specialized Programs and Services If your loved one requires specialized care, such as memory care or post-stroke rehabilitation, look for facilities that offer these specific services.
Songs of deliverance (2)
Word for Today written by Bob and Debby Gass
Saturday 2nd November 2024
'Paul and Silas were praying and singing praises.' Acts 16:25 CEV
Even science agrees that music has healing power. Today we have music therapists who play sounds that set captives free in hospitals, special educational needs classrooms and nursing homes. Harvard University researchers, among others, are reporting that music is a healing balm for stroke, Alzheimer's disease and the physical stress of premature birth. They have also learned that music can improve surgical outcomes, help to restore lost speech, reduce side effects of cancer therapy, relieve pain, improve mood and battle depression.
Dr Gottfried Schlaug, a Harvard University neurologist, told the Los Angeles Times, 'Music might provide an alternative entry point to the brain because it can unlock so many different doors into an injured or ill brain.' His research shows that pitch, harmony, melody, rhythm and emotion, which are all components of music, engage different parts of the brain - parts of the brain that are also important for speech, movement and social interaction.
When music is the medium used to praise God and express his creative and life-changing word, you experience its potential to bring deliverance. That was certainly so for Paul and Silas: 'At midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loosed' (Acts 16:25-26 NKJV). Change your attitude, your environment, your outlook. Surround yourself with songs of deliverance!
Kathy Griffin’s voice in comedy won’t be silenced by Trump trauma, ageism or destroyed vocal cords
Red headed woman in a pink jumpsuit standing in her home shrugging
A portrait photo shoot of Kathy Griffin at her home in Malibu. Her latest stand-up tour “My Life on the PTSD-List,” reaches the Wiltern Theatre on Wednesday, Sept. 18
Kathy Griffin has her voice back.
Recently, a new implant in her left vocal cord has fixed the squeaky whisper marring her speech for four years.
“It’s a freaking miracle,” Griffin says.
Her original voice is back in a broader sense, too.
“Honey, it’s been a rough few years,” the Grammy-winning comic, actor, producer, best-selling author and activist elaborates, “the Trump thing, the cancer, the divorce.”
The 2017 “Trump thing” (holding a severed Trump mask covered in ketchup) included being investigated by the government, placement on the national No Fly list and being unable to travel for performances. Griffin’s mother passed in March 2020, and a pill addiction led to Griffin’s suicide attempt that June.
After six years away from the stage, Griffin now returns with resilient, new material for her extended “My Life on the PTSD-List” tour, which reaches the Wiltern Theatre on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
The tour name references her Emmy-winning TV series as well as ongoing challenges like staying sober, ignoring death threats, moving past lost CNN deals and committing to therapy for complex PTSD.
Griffin’s comedy remains story-oriented.
Her shows are filled with repeat diehards and locally tailored, including personal roasts of audiences in each city.
She hasn’t had an opener in 25 years, and Griffin still stays onstage for two-plus hours.
Some of her stories take a more serious tone these days.
For example, “a story about how I very seriously tried to take my life, wrote a note, the whole thing, and ended up 5150 psych hold at Cedars.”
Yet for Griffin, the Guinness World Record holder for most comedy specials, celebrity sells.
“And bookend that sh– with a funny story about going to Paris [Hilton’s] house,” she says.
“A funny story about going to Mexico with Sia, where everything went wrong.”
At her home in Malibu, Calif., a week after popping up as a surprise guest on an already jaw-dropping “Barbies” lineup at local L.A. theater Dynasty Typewriter at the Hayworth alongside Rosie O’Donnell, Aparna Nancherla, and Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, a post-recovery Griffin recommends yelling at the TV while watching politics, knowing one’s value and learning how to fight long-term in the face of inequality.
Woman sitting on the floor under natural light of a skylight “Never in my born days did I think that this little lady from Forest Park, Ill. would be able to live in Malibu, look at the ocean and run in fear from Mel Gibson,” Griffin says. (Jason Armond/Los Angeles Times) What did the process of having your voice repaired entail, and how has the recovery process been?
I was getting shots every six months where I had to go under general [anesthesia] and they would shoot in a collagen-like substance, which would fatten my left vocal cord. My right one was moving, and my left one was dead. Once again, my mortal enemies — middle-aged white heterosexual men — those f— let me go around, show business with a voice [squeaks] like this!
I could cry thinking about it. It was so awful for almost four years. Finally the singer Sia, she’s one of my besties, she’s like, “Oh, no no no. There is a female surgeon whose name is Dr. Anca Barbu.” Sia’s singing coach is a woman named Amy Chapman. And Amy works for Barbu. I know I’m being a bitter b—, but I just find it very hard to believe that “Oh, well this old white guy cured this celebrity. And this one made it so Ozzy [Osbourne] can sing again. And this one brought this singer back to life. And blah, blah, blah.” I could have gotten this the day after my cancer surgery!
When they took out half of my left lung, they injured me so severely that they killed my left vocal cord for life. I currently still have an aperture, which means a tear above my cords. You can still see the scar. I just had the surgery five weeks ago and then I had to be on two weeks vocal rest, which was living hell. But it has been such a game changer. It’s a mood lifter. Now I like to yell at the TV screen. Last night during that very emotional Harris/Walz rally, I got to yell at the screen like other good solid Democrats.
My house isn’t on the beach, but it’s a water view. And I find that very comforting. When I was coming back from the lung-cancer surgery or this one where I had to be quiet, just looking at the water was big time. Never in my born days did I think that this little lady from Forest Park, Ill. would be able to live in Malibu, look at the ocean and run in fear from Mel Gibson.
Your material on this “My Life on the PTSD-List” tour hadn’t been political. Did that change after the Trump assassination attempt and Vice President Kamala Harris entered the presidential race?
I don’t mention Trump in the new show. It’s not that I am afraid to, honestly. I did a whole tour about that incident, and I made a documentary called “Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story.” You can see it free on Amazon because no one, I mean no one, would distribute it because I’m a toxic terrorist who’s on the No Fly list.
But I really, really hope to get a special with this material. I think it’s ageism and sexism. These dudes getting specials, they don’t know what it’s like to play Carnegie. I don’t mean to sound like a braggart, but I think I should have a special. It’s kind of appalling that there are still so many male heterosexual executives that are my age or older that are secret Trumpers, and they own everything. What people don’t know, and what I’m not afraid to say even though it gets me in trouble, is that five old white guys, most of whom are Trumpers, control every bit of media we consume.
I don’t think people understand that nothing’s changed. It’s still the boys club, especially when it comes to stand-up. I’m just shocked, because that’s the conversation Joan Rivers and I used to have right up until she passed away. She said she had that conversation with Phyllis Diller, and I’m sure Phyllis had it with Totie Fields, and her with Moms Mabley. It’s still like that.
Woman holding her dog on a set of indoor steps “I really, really hope to get a special with this material,” Griffin says of her latest tour. “I think it’s ageism and sexism. These dudes getting specials, they don’t know what it’s like to play Carnegie. I don’t mean to sound like a braggart, but I think I should have a special.” (Jason Armond/Los Angeles Times) Yet the benefit of your own theater tour means your demographics and audiences can still come directly to you. You have the opportunity to be much more intimate and revealing with them and to go anywhere, talk about anything with them. There’s no machinery or anyone else in the way.
At 63, if I had to go back and play clubs, I would retire. Yeah, it’s heaven. And I purposely do a long show because I’m so used to doing specials. I’ve done 21 specials, which certainly no guy has, living or dead of any level, not even close. And I have a Grammy for best comedy special. I’m one of only four women to this day in the entire history of the Grammys. I keep thinking they’re going to eventually have to get a little bit better. But once you’re 63, it’s a whole other level. The ageism almost takes the place of the sexism. So yes, women are for sure getting more opportunities, but how many women can you name over 60 that really are at this level? Four?
I have asked countless of my straight bro friends, “Okay, it’s a bro weekend. You and your bros want to go see a comedy show, but you don’t want to go to a club. You want to see somebody with a name. Would it ever occur to you, you and your bro friend, to go see me, Chelsea, Sarah Silverman, Wanda?” And every single one of them said, “To be honest, Kath, no. We want to see Chappelle, Rock, Mulaney.” It’s like, “Oh, it’s didn’t even occur to me to think of a girl.” I don’t know how to fight that. So I keep saying it, even though my agents and managers hate when I say that.
How have you gone about fostering those kind of connections and opportunities that work towards creating that kind of change?
When I was blacklisted, I was like, “Okay, how do you make new friends when you’re 57?” And then I thought about the salons I used to go. I was trained by two women on how to have them: Sue Mengers, the first female, really big power agent, and my dear friend Gloria Vanderbilt.
Mengers said you have to cast them. So I put the introvert next to the extrovert. I separate couples. I have somebody like Meredith Lynch, who’s just starting stand-up, but also is an expert on private equity. Some folks stuck by me like the beautiful Aubrey Plaza, who brought me a casserole two days after the Trump thing. Not everybody dumped me, but it was a lot. These salons became just a way for me to talk to people, and listen to people. Something magical happens when you put your phones away and you just share a meal. We joke around a lot, but we talk about substantial sh—.
There’s something about that environment. People get vulnerable. They talk about stuff that they wouldn’t talk about if it was a cocktail party with 30 people milling around. I used to do two a year, and now I’m trying to do one a month. The first one I had was for a guest of honor named Sidney Poitier. I had two for Dylan Mulvaney. I also had two for E. Jean Carroll, because everybody wants to meet Jean. I tend to try to pick a guest of honor that’s typically a woman who’s been through the fire in some way, shape or form.
Woman standing in her home wearing pink jumpsuit “I do my shows for the people that buy the tickets. And so far, literally every show, I’ve gotten a standing ovation, by the way,” Griffin says. “I know a lot of it is because of the cancer, but I don’t care. I’ll take it!” (Jason Armond/Los Angeles Times) The new tour and new material represents a point of culmination and healing for you, and a new beginning both professionally and in your personal life. Are there new goals that you’ve set for yourself once the tour is over?
When the tour’s over, I’m back on the breadline, honey. I don’t have one goddamn offer. I’m a grinder. It’s been like that my whole life. I’ve never been a turner-downer. I f— say yes to the opening of an envelope.
But the truth of the matter is, I’ve been doing this for so long, I get a lot of repeat business. I’m very lucky in that way, because my fans know I’m going to give them new s— every time. Just in these first 40 cities, I’ve done shows that are two hours and 30, 40 minutes.
I’m not shortchanging those tickets. Those tickets aren’t cheap. I’m fearful people would think that health-wise, I’m not up to it anymore. And that’s not the case, especially since the implant. So I am still there.
I do my shows for the people that buy the tickets. And so far, literally every show, I’ve gotten a standing ovation, by the way. I know a lot of it is because of the cancer, but I don’t care. I’ll take it!
Speech therapy, also known as speech-language therapy or speech pathology, is a specialized form of therapy that focuses on diagnosing and treating communication disorders and difficulties related to speech, language, and swallowing. Speech therapists, also known as speech-language pathologists (SLPs), are trained professionals who work with people of all ages, from infants to the elderly.
The main goals of SPEECH THERAPY are to help individuals improve their communication skills, enhance their ability to understand and use language and address difficulties in articulation, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Speech therapy is often recommended for individuals who experience the following issues:
Articulation Disorders: Difficulty in producing speech sounds correctly, resulting in unclear speech.
Language Disorders: Challenges in understanding and using language effectively, which can affect both spoken and written language.
Fluency Disorders: This includes stuttering, where a person experiences interruptions in the flow of speech.
Voice Disorders: Problems with pitch, loudness, or quality of the voice, leading to hoarseness or other voice-related issues.
Swallowing Disorders: Difficulty in swallowing safely and efficiently.
If you or someone you know is experiencing communication difficulties or swallowing problems, consulting with a qualified speech therapist can be beneficial in identifying the issues and developing a personalized treatment plan.
The Synergy of Occupational Therapy and Speech Improvement
Speech is an essential component of communication and is necessary for expressing thoughts, ideas, and emotions. It is also necessary for many everyday activities, such as eating, speaking on the phone, and socializing. When individuals have difficulty with speech, it can impact their quality of life and ability to participate in activities that are meaningful to them. Moreover, speech and occupational therapy can assist individuals with speech difficulties by addressing the underlying causes and helping to improve speech skills.
Occupational Therapy, What Is It?
It is a medical aid that helps individuals achieve independence. It helps them participate in the activities of daily living (ADLs) that are meaningful and important to them. This includes activities related to self-care, work, leisure, and social participation.
Occupational therapy helps individuals to develop, recover, or maintain the physical, mental, and cognitive skills needed to perform these activities.
Occupational therapists work with a variety of populations.
This includes children, the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from injury or illness. The goal of occupational therapy is to enable individuals to engage in the activities they value, despite any challenges they may face.
The approach of occupational therapy is holistic.
This means that the therapist considers the individual’s physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being when creating treatment plans. Occupational therapists use various techniques to achieve their goals, including exercises to improve strength, coordination, and agility; adaptive equipment to make daily tasks more accessible; and energy conservation and time management training.
This can involve educating family members and caregivers on supporting the individual. It can also include working with schools, employers, and community organizations to create inclusive environments.
Moreover, occupational therapy can be a highly effective treatment for individuals with various conditions. This includes physical disabilities, neurological conditions, developmental disabilities, mental health conditions, and chronic health conditions. Occupational therapy can also be used to support individuals in managing the effects of aging and prevent injury or disability.
Overall, occupational therapy is a dynamic and evolving field. It is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their full potential and live life to the fullest. By working with individuals to identify and achieve their goals, occupational therapists play a vital role in improving quality of life and promoting independence and well-being.
