I'd say your best bet is just a regular earlobe piercing, it's most peoples' first for a reason.

DO NOT LET ANYONE USE A PIERCING GUN ON YOU THOUGH, THOSE THINGS SUCK SHIT! Get a trusted friend or go to a professional piercing parlor if you can (they're usually with tattoo shops)

They have kits to do it at home, you just have to make sure you have your ear rings ready to put in and a friend willing to do it for you. You can use ice to numb your ear lobe before the needle goes in so you'll barely feel it. Just make sure once you're pierced that you use isopropyl alcohol (NOT PEROXIDE) on a cotton ball to clean your piercings and the new hole in your ear every day for like a month. After that you should be good to just clean them occasionally.
