noticed that some ppl on my dc cartoon poll are being really uppity that their first dc intro was a cartoon from before the dcau or their first intro wasn't a cartoon at all. like.. ok?? just say so?? that's why i gave two options for non cartoons / cartoons that weren't included. like if you're going to get gatekeepy about it just fuck off.

#imagine taking a fun chance to remember your childhood experiences w/ dc media and using it to be snobby about comics #im the most pretentious bitch i know and that still couldn't be me #sorry to vague but 'dc existed before the 90s' yea no fucking shit genius #its almost like:#(1) the general userbase of this site tends to be on the younger side and therefore i included stuff that they would likely have seen first #(2) i was making a post about dc CARTOONS and most dc cartoons that are still popular today are 90s or later #so given that as mentioned the tumblr userbase skews younger #most of us wouldn't be watching pre 90s cartoons as they were airing #and not a lot of them had the staying power that we would be watching them through vhs / dvd / et cetera post 90s #dont get me wrong got plenty fossils who first saw dc through superfriends in my poll but most of them aren't being snobby about it #most of them were very nice and were just like 'yea i saw superfriends first :-)' and moved tf on #dc comics #i speak
