my football team doesn't know ball 💔
'mavs in five' 'mavs in six' 'mavs in seven' mouth dropped in OUTRAGE. not ONE of them said celtics in five, what the FUCK, respect my bball team 😭
s/o kris jenkins, marco wilson, jordan battle, mike hilton, tre mosley, and myles murphy for believing!
mike hilton btw! did not know he was from georgia! predicted fmvp!
tre mosley (i did have to dive into the training camp roster to figure out who was 86) 'boston in six if porzingis plays, boston in seven if he don't' see! he knows ball!
and myles murphy! from the same town jaylen was born in!
WARNING: ANTI-MAVS/KYRIE CONTENT BELOW
and fuckkkk outta here with that kyrie/luka clutch gene and 'best offensive backcourt in history' or whatever. clearly none of that shit matters when luka fouls out or is too out of breath bc he's not in the same condition that the jays are in (the guy's a great offensive player, but his defense...), and kyrie sees ghosts whenever he sets foot in TD garden.
i will NEVER understand why so many athletes like kyrie. like bball wise, the guy practically threw his rookies under the bus in 18! he performed so badly during a playoff series (4-18 from the field in one game wtf) that there was still conspiracy theories that he threw it on purpose just so he could go to the nets! fine, people miss shots, but in what world is a 6’2 guard ever going to effectively guard Giannis Antetokounmpo? No world! Not a snowball's chance in hell! (You ever want to piss off a Celtics fan, just mention the 2019 Bucks series) he said to a whole stadium that he was going to stay -and then the sage. the middle finger. the stomp. 1-15 vs the celtics since the stomp - what were you expecting when you stomped on a mascot literally named LUCKY.
and also like. morally. i feel like kyrie has gotten into so many scandals that people are desensitized (flat earth being the prime example) or were a few years ago and people have forgotten, but anti-Seminism is absolutely deplorable and there's no excuse for it. and not getting a vaccine is a personal choice, but he was literally promoting the idea that vaccines contain microchips? c’mon. that is straight-up misinformation.
finally, EXCUSE ME CAM 'the celtics always make it to the end and never finish' WE HAVE WENT TO THE FINALS ONE(1) TIME BEFORE THIS. WHAT DO YOUUUU MEAN 'nEvEr FiNiSH'?
2017-18 we got to the ecf riding on rookie jt's shoulders (also smh terry shot us out of that game 7). 18-19 we were a second round exit 😔. i'll always side eye kyrie for the bucks series. 19-20 the raptors series gassed us badly and it's not like they choked? the heat were the #1 seed? 20-21 first-round exit bc jaylen hurt and jayson had to drop fifty just to win a game against the superteam nets. 21-22 was the first finals year and like, jayson and jaylen had to basically go 100 from january bc we were at .500 for the first half of the season. our path was sooo much harder than the warriors. like the whole 24 playoff run, it was all the celtics weren't 'battle-tested' like we didn't have to go through the kd-kyrie nets, giannis and the bucks, and the heat with their Devil Magic in 2022. you can't just say they 'never finish' without the CONTEXT (sorry i get fired up about this). and ok fine, 22-23 we choked (had a first-year hc for all its worth)
#bengals: celtics haters 💔#i can never win 😔#finally did my kyrie rant it's been nagging at me#sorry ja'marr you will never make me like that man#as a celtic fan and as a person#it simply annoys me whenever i see praise about that man#sorry to all mavs fans out there#i don't hate y'all i just hate your player#also i just get annoyed at luka bc dude. don't just stand there#cincinnati bengals#boston celtics#anti kyrie irving

Omg you’re so right I’ve noticed that he’s very careful with his words when talking about Ja’Marr and I think that’s so telling like on one hand he is not playing into the media leading questions, and ok the other he wants to keep as much of their priceless relationship to himself
he doessss!!!! to be fair he always chooses his words carefully for all his interview questions that's why he usually takes notable pauses in between the words of all his answers. it always makes me laugh when the nfl/bleacherreport/bengals post clips of his interview they have to trim the dead silence in between his sentences 😭 incredibly precious of him btw
completely drained from the last ask so i can't be assed to actually link these sorry but i really want to list some moments out :') :
he always stutters (?) or like talks haltingly about ja'marr and their connection like he's choosing his words very carefully and deliberately. like think of that interview with ryan clark on his connection with ja'marr or that insane one with joe montana about finding that one special wr or smtg crazy like that or that podcast one where his hair was so fucking perfect and he talked about ja'marr being open etc etc god my brain is too fried for this sorry. oh and that panthers presser where joe laughed and said he likes watching ja'marr play!!! grauaghghhg.
ja'marr's rookie preseason drops, he said he knows the type of guy ja'marr is the kind of player he is despite all his drops. ja'marr gets his first touchdown and joe storms the field to get to him and hug his ass like they're in a romcom idk. the post game presser he makes it clear he remembers all the shit they said about ja'marr 'i thought he was dropping everything'.
this preseason getting constantly asked about ja'marr's contract and him not practicing at all. he gives pr answers sure but you can see he was 100% firm when he says ja'marr would be ready regardless and i think he also mentioned about throwing with him outside of practice?? cute! absolutely devastating for me but cute!!
the 'there’s a whole lot of ways a receiver can tell you hey get me the fucking ball' 😭 somebody wrote a headline like 'ja'marr chase question causes joe burrow to cuss for the first time during press' or something like that and i just about died 😭 kinda clickbaity but honestly it’s soooo funny of course ja’marr would be involved somehow. that presser he was off he was weirdly open?? and teasing??? and when he talked about ja'marr he still took his time to choose his words but he was a whole lot looser on the tongue than usual so boom he drops the f bomb to the shock of every single person who watches his shit.
i cant really think of anything else lmao and this isn't really in line with list sort of but i remember him getting asked about him and ja'marr or pat and travis LMAOOOOOOOO truly why would they ask him this but his voice got so?? fuck it was so????? he 100% tripped up never in my life have i seen him get so flustered and giggly and weirdly defensive. saying something along the lines of 'what do you want me to say? course I'm gonna say us (him and ja'marr) like they (travpat) would answer them' but he was soooo ???? blushy about it???? and like scrunching his entire body in that chair?????? insane man tbh. pr answer ofc but the way he answered it was giving new couple getting asked about how they got together idk. AND LIKE if you compare this with ja'marr getting asked about him and joe or josh allen and stefon diggs (😭😭 bless you all get to a point in your life that you get so close to a someone people know you as a duo instead of just a singular person that you get asked these type of questions) and he calmly without missing a beat rationally straight-faced-ly said that 'i like us more than anybody'........fuck them both so muchhhhh shut uppp 😭
ok bye :')
#ask#joemarr#joemarr meta#joe burrow#ja'marr chase#just had to make a list sorry#yeah....#might find those last interview clips on the you or them questions bc i kind of want them on my blog hmmhm

14 & 16 😊
14. do you have a 'comfort' athlete? why do you like them?
hmmm, it's hard to say. i associate 'comfort' thing with something that calms me and settles me down (for example, friends is a good comfort show for me etc etc) and um. none of these guys 'calm' me lmao. i'm a pretty lowkey person, and one of my favorite things about sports is how much the games/the players just HYPE me the fuck up lol. like having the excuse to just SCREAM at your tv once a week?? (in a relatively low stakes environment) so good for my psyche!
that said, i'll just translate this as favorite player/player that makes me the happiest. and i don't think anyone is going to be shocked to find out that that's ja'marr. the way that he's just so....warm?? the way everyone around him is so clearly drawn to him, and how open he is about how much he cares about his people (even if he takes it back sometimes with joe <3) the way that you can SEE how deeply he feels things! his joy, his anger, his sadness, his frustration! all written SO clearly on his face. the way that he is SUCH a crybaby (in happy AND sad situations, he's just like me fr). the way that he's SO ridiculous with his unreliable narrator thing he's got going on. like WHAT does he mean sometimes?? we will truly never know and it both drives me crazy and compels me so much lmao. the way he projects so much strength and confidence at times and such tenderness and insecurity at others?? UGH my man has layers and i love him so much for it. (plus he's, you know, one of the most beautiful men on the planet. so jot that down.)
16. what's the best game/moment in your eyes?
god it's so hard, but i think if i had to choose a favorite game, it would be the bengals-bills '23 divisional playoff win. oh my god. 1. it was SUCH a beautiful snow game. 2. we played pretty much PERFECTLY. the offense scored almost every drive, the defense almost completely shut down this high powered bills offense. 3. the whole bullshit coin toss debacle. there is no doubt about it - we got completely screwed over by that whole situation. we should have had that game at home or at the very least in a neutral environment, but we had to go to buffalo in january, which everyone talked about being SUCH a disadvantage and how crazy bills mafia is there was NO WAY we could ever overcome it. but we did. by a lot lmao. in the second half the home crowd was so quieted you could hear the who dey chants and the "teeeeeeee" every time he made a play. it was BEAUTIFUL.
(sorry to all my bills bros on here <3 <3 i know that game broke your hearts after a rough season. but man did we need it too.)
#OH which reminds me that we also got the big diggs/allen fight on the sideline too that game#which was sad to see but did help contribute to the fascinating divorce lore lol#eli apple. out here breaking up nfl marriages left and right lol#also lmao yes ja'marr i would say is my favorite player but boy is he ever not a comfort to me hahaha#that boy stresses me the fuck out and i love him for it#(i guess it is comforting hearing his goofy laugh <3)#thanks anon!!

Oh my god I feel so seen 😭😭😭 the way some Bengals’ fans talk about Ja’marr pisses me off (media and other team’s fans too but when it’s our own it drives me crazy). The whole contract situation especially (where they backed out last minute and constantly low balled him) when the details leaked and people said he should’ve just signed it??? The KC game aftermath too, oh my god the micro aggressions were LOUD!! Sorry I forget a competitive, professional athlete can only express emotion when they’re white!!
He was getting stick for saying he deserves a ‘fair contract and what deserves’ like that’s common knowledge?! The amount of other teams who would trade for him in a heartbeat!! I have so many receipts from people shitting on Ja’marr and Tee the last year 😭 I fear it’s worse with Ja’marr as he’s never shied away from expressing himself (which he shouldn’t!! Let my boy be angry! Or Petty! Or Sad! Or full of whimsy!).
Yet another rant below. Don't interact if you disagree that there is a clear element of racism in how black players are covered in the media
The contract stuff pisses me off like no other bc Ja'Marr is well within his rights to demand what he deserves. It's not a new thing to ask for an extension in your third year, now. So why was the conversation always revolving around 'why is Ja'Marr sitting out' rather than 'why isn't the FO getting this shit done'. It's not a new thing that the FO has constantly lowballed its players and is known as one of the cheapest organizations. And Ja'Marr has watched them negoiate with Joe and Tee and Jessie and Joe Mix and DJ -he knows that they do this kinda shit and he wanted to get his extension early! And btw, Ja'Marr trying to negogiate his contract last year was actually better for the team in the future -the bengals not getting it done is gonna cost them at least a few million dollars. So why in the world. were fans angry that Ja'Marr was holding for the money that he deserves?
And I know these athletes get paid millions, I know that the amounts of money they have is something I can't even fathom. But they're also risking their bodies and brains (I got so muchhh to say about CTE and the jokes I constantly hear/see and what a serious disease it is -but. another time perhaps). Ja'Marr, even before this year, has played under a rookie contract for three years. He's earned this extension, with every catch he's made and every touchdown he's caught. Don't blame Ja'Marr for wanting to get paid his fair share! (not directed to you anon, just ranting in general)
Then, regarding the KC game, I'll always remember that moment last Super Bowl, when Kelce started yelling at his coach. I just looked up the articles and it's all 'Why did Kelce start yelling at his coach?' and 'Travis Kelce apologizes for shoving his coach'.
You google Ja'Marr's incident and you get 'Ja'Marr Chase unloads on refs for costly penalty' and 'Chase fined for verbally abusing ref' and 'Chase's tantrum costs his team'.
There is a double standard. One of them is explaining and excusing the player's behavior. The other is blaming the player for their behavior. Is it really a coincidence that one of them is white and the other is black?
These are different situations, yes -one is at the coach, one is at the ref- and not all news outlets are so blatant. Wording makes such a huge difference. But it's another example of the 'angry black man' stereotype, another example of black men are inherently seen as more 'out of control'.
Players get angry at the refs. They get frustrated. It's part of the game. It's why we have penalties like 'unsportsmanlike conduct'. The racist element is how those incidents get covered and talked about, bc they're not covered the same. And when people point it out, it's all 'why are you making everything about race?' Because whether you acknowledge it or not, it is about race. Hundreds of years later, we're still trying to deal with the fact that when white people came to this country, they brought black people in chains.
(And one last thing: following the KC game, I was avoiding Twitter bc I know that I'm only getting angry, but there were a lot of people praising Joe for holding him back and like. Very controversial of me, bc I and a lot of people love Joe'Marr -but if you take out the Joe'Marr aspect of it all. The thought of praising a white man holding back a black man has implications. Mostly being that the black man needs someone to control him, bc he can't control himself. And that. That makes me 🤮)
#like after the ravens game ja'marr made some very frustrated comments regarding zac and evan#and i have extreme Beef with the media who expects players to always remain Perfect and give Perfect answers even after that kinda loss#speak on it anon! players should be allowed to express themselves and their emotions#sports is inherently emotional and volatile#they're not robots! stop asking questions designed to elicit a response and then kill the player for responding!#nfl#racism#my asks
